Royal Mail just delivered and I have taken it before I can talk myself out of it. Feeling a bit apprehensive and worried about side effects. Currently 16.6 I have lost 2 stone on weight watchers but have hit a plateau so thought I would give this a try. Really hoping it works for me as I need to lose the weight for health reasons.

Exciting! I've been on it since March and very happy with results (over 2 stone down) You might find the June starters thread nice to join - other people at a similar point to yourself.

Woohoo! Exciting 🥳

I was 16st 2.7lbs in October, BMI 37.7. I am now 8st 12lbs, BMI 20.6. It’s changed my life. I haven’t had any side effects.

Hope it’s the same for you!

Wow - well done! Have you stopped now?

HansHolbein · 21/06/2025 10:52

@Tamega Thank you. After battling with this shit for over 20yrs I’m so glad to finally be free.

I will be going to maintenance soon, titrating down until I reach a dose that keeps my weight the same. Unfortunately, I have PCOS so if I stop, those symptoms will come back.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 21/06/2025 10:56

Good luck.

Don't panic if it doesn't seem to work for you at first, the 2.5mg dose is just to get your body used to the medication and not everyone loses weight on it.

Personally I found the first two doses gave me quite bad stomach issues but I persevered and now it's fine. I'm currently on 7.5mg.

Thanks Anna, I can cope with some minor side effects if it works x

Well, 2 days after my first jab I shat myself in a work meeting so not that minor! Luckily I was at home and it was online but I was mortified. After the second jab I had a similar reaction but not as extreme and made it to the loo in time.

I've now been taking it since the start of February, and have gone up to 7.5 without any more issues.

My nurse said she's got 80 patients on MJ and only one has had to stop because the side effects were so bad he couldn't continue.

Librariesrule · 21/06/2025 16:57

Signed up and paid yesterday before I talked myself out of it. Just uploaded photos. I know a few people having success using the jabs so fingers crossed.

BerfyTigot · 21/06/2025 18:17

@AnnaQuayInTheUk really sorry to hear that. Tbh I shat myself several times and now 5.5 weeks in, i take half the dose (1.25) to avoid side effects.

I don't get full suppression but it suits me. I'm going to increase gradually by counting clicks.

Some people just have SE the first week or two, hopefully you'll be the same.

ZaraCC · 21/06/2025 18:31

Great! Don't be disappointed if you do not see results at once - it may be a couple of weeks but you will.

Oh my goodness good job you were at home 🤣 that’s the reason I wanted to start on a weekend to deal with any side effects at home.

Fingers crossed for us both. I’ve had a few minor waves of nausea today but nothing major. Had porridge with berries for brunch and ham and egg salad for tea and I’m feeling pretty full. Been drinking loads of sugar free vimto too.

Thanks Zara, I won’t I’m just looking for consistency not massive losses every week.

Hi friend 👋
I just started today too.
It’s so strange, I am nervous to eat, don’t quite know what to have.
So far I have had a packet of Pom bears which is not how I mean to go on!
Hope you have an easy time x
