There is enough leftover liquid in the pen to ensure there is enough to prime it before each dose. you are not supposed to get it out and use it anyway.

Seriestwo · 24/06/2025 14:06

I’m W2D4 on 2.5mg and still having near total suppression of appetite. I ate half a boiled egg and half a slice of toast, 3 bites and salmon and some roasted pepper yesterday. That’s just not enough.

im losing weight and that’s the point, but I’m tired and need some more energy. I’m horribly constipated and have ocaisonsl
nausea.

does Anyone use 1.25 - I could do 30 clicks instead of 60?

this seems ridiculous.

I’m on exactly the same day as you and I am really struggling to eat. Have been having protein shakes and little bites of stuff but not getting near my 1500 calories. Like you the suppression is almost 100%. Managing over 2 litres water a day and I have nausea all day the day after jab. I’m beginning to wonder if it’s too strong for me to- it’s not good to be eating so little . Hope someone has an answer. Good luck xx

Seriestwo · 24/06/2025 14:49

I asked chat gpt which isn’t exactly evidence based or reliable -
but he says that it’s not common but not unheard of for people to have a very strong reaction to the first dose.

I have PCOS and ADHD and both those have affected how I eat - chat says the monjourno can correct the hormonaL
imballances caused by those. Not sure I believe him but there’s probably an element of truth in it. Anyway. I’ll see who the next 3 days go and drop to a half dose for the next one I think. This needs to work and that means making it sustainable

FoxRedPuppy · 24/06/2025 15:05

@UglyBastardFace glad to be told I’m right about something (I live with two teenagers, I’m always wrong about everything!)

We're SO similar! And you're only a week in front.

I was over the bloody moon to get into the 12 bracket today. I was 14st 2lb Jan 1st & lost 15lbs myself until Easter then it just stalled & crept up a bit. I actually can't believe that 1 week on this & I'm in the 12 bracket. Long may it continue!

Crossing my fingers you get into that 12 bracket by the time you're getting your 2nd pen.

Thank you so much, so good to hear you are at 12st now. I’ve tried and tried over the last few years and just can’t get below 13st so really looking forward to that 😊 well done for all you've lost so far

FoxRedPuppy · 24/06/2025 15:06

If you aren’t able to eat much, I’d make sure that whatever you eat has a good amount of energy as well as some veg for now.

Gingercar · 24/06/2025 15:18

Those of you unable to eat properly - have you got suppliers that have someone you can talk about it to? If so do. I know Voy have clinicians Mon- Fri you can talk to.

I have heard of people reducing the dose and taking 1.25 every 4 days instead of 2.5 weekly. Hopefully you’ll get used to it.🤞

Failing that the GP will help. A lot of MJ suppliers online charge extra if you want someone to talk to alongside so many people don’t go for it.

RJmama · 24/06/2025 16:31

I need to decide about my next pen soon and I’m also thinking of staying on 2.5mg. The suppression has been quite strong for me from the start, and I’ve also had nausea and headaches. While I’m only in W2, I think it is working for me for now and would be wary of the SEs and even greater suppression if I went up to 5mg.

I actually can't quite believe it. I've been teetering on the 13:1 for bloody months- exercise daily & eating really sensibly & no movement! Bloody peri/menopause is to blame for my extra weight & I'm convinced it's stalling the loss too. So today I'm throwing 2 fingers up at menopause with my pal Mounjaro behind me sticking her tongue out! 🤣

You'll join me soon. I can't wait to get into the 11s!

beguilingeyes · 24/06/2025 13:30

2.5 had no effect on me at all. I've just taken my first dose of 5.0 so I'm hoping that will help.

Probably not what you want to hear but I was so glad to read your post! I’m finding no effect on 2.5 and feeling quite disheartened reading all the posts from everyone seeing great results on it. I have one more 2.5 jab left and then can’t wait to crack on with 5.0 and hopefully feel the effect!

Yes I think that’s it, I’m at that age where it’s all stored around my tummy and I look about 6 months pregnant, and it just won’t budge. Woo hoo how amazing will 11st be 🥳

Yup, 53 here & only went into actial meno (12 months no period) about 6/8 months ago & my God did I see a difference, so enough was enough . I've never had back fat in my life & my belly sticks out in all my nice clothes.

We should have some fireworks in the 11s, & if I get to target (10 stone 10) I'll spontaneously combust like a firework!🤣

GiddyAmberQuail · 24/06/2025 16:58

Week 1 day 5

Bit of nausea and muscle aches the 2nd day, I jabbed at teatime the 1st day.
Eating clean, no cakes, bread, pastry, or fatty foods. I used to snack junk food in evening, completely stopped.
Constipation a bit of problem dealt with by talking califig.
Find I'm still hungry at times but not craving biscuits, crisps etc, I couldn't walk past a Greg's without buying a sausage roll, its weird I want carrots and apples instead.

How's everyone doing?

GirlMama04 · 24/06/2025 17:13

Hi all! Ive been lurking, but thought I would bite the bullet and just say hiya 👋 Im currently on W2D5. First week went well, no huge SE ,just a little bit of a bad tummy and sore neck glands the second day. Suppression was within about 8 hours. Its so strange to me. I just forget about food. This never happens lol! Im trying my best to get to at least 1000 cals a day. I plan to try and up in 100 each week or more,as i adapt. Lost 7lbs though. So i was really pleased. I also started taking peppermint capsules, hair and nail and some fibre too.
Week 2 suppression is the same however, the fibre tablets aren't working too well. So maybe need to increase the dose,as its uncomfortable now! 😬

farfallarocks · 24/06/2025 17:53

My friend had no suppression at 2.5 at all, she’s now lost 20 kgs in 3 months so keep the faith!

the meno tummy also tipped me over the edge, never had a tummy even post partum and was offered a seat on the tube 3 times last week.

Catladyof7 · 24/06/2025 20:13

Not sure what to think. First 2 days wasnt very hungry and ate very little.
Today had a slice of toast with only a light scraping of butter, mid afternoon a bowl of strawberries with a small amount of ice cream , just had evening meal of pasta , not a large portion and thats me for today .
Think its still under 2000 calories .
When i get my 5mg pen next , i am going to just go to the 3.5.
No side effects so far

So did she up her dose ?
or did she eat a lot less ?
I feel like i have eaten too much today

FoxRedPuppy · 24/06/2025 20:23

@Catladyof7 can you track your calories? You need to eat a lot less than 2000 if you want to lose weight. You need to work out your TDEE there are lots of calculators online. When you work out your Basal Metabolic Rate (that’s what your body uses everyday without doing anything) you can work out what you should be eating in a day.

I would say to make sure you are getting enough protein, especially as MJ causes muscle loss.

First two days dont think i had 1000 calories .
I dont like being hungry but have stopped most sweet things
I made the pasta ages ago , so no idea of calories.
Dont fancy going down that route of counting everything i eat .
I am one of the older ones on here at 68
I dont even know what TDEE is .
I have had to eat what food i had in as i am not near to any supermarkets and i dont have any money to,go shopping till Friday .
Then will stock up on eggs , chicken and salad

Catladyof7 · 24/06/2025 20:43

I was only guessing the calories ,but i dont think its much more than 1000 ish
Hardly anything on the bread , one slice, strawberries and only a sliver of ice cream.
Pasta was only a small plateful so around 800max i guess .
Drank water all day and had one cup of tea, i dont take or have any sugar on anything

Catladyof7 · 24/06/2025 21:11

Added up and its around 1000 calories , so my mistake .
I can have up to 1500 to lose weight if i have done it right

DontMowMyMeadow · 24/06/2025 21:14

Okay. I've just injected the first dollop.
Thanks to you all for sharing your experiences.
I have had the pen in the fridge for nearly 2 weeks! Very frightened of severe side effects, based on being from a family with a wide range of reactions to medications, skin products, food stuffs etc.
We have a GP next door, and he's home tonight, so hopefully can help incase of anyphalaxis.

It should all be fine 🤞🤞🤞🤞
