I injected into my thigh but it was actually about half way down rather than right at the top. Is that ok? It’s also gone a bit red next to it (although I do bruise easily) and is a little bit normal. Just wondering if this is normal. Injection was about 40 mins ago

tgifginplease · 21/06/2025 17:36

Sorry that was supposed to say “a little bit achey”

Sicily this time. 5 days in Catania and 5 in Palermo. I love Italy! We've stayed in both Turin and Bologna in the past couple of years. Love them both but, as touristy as it is, Venice is my absolute favourite! Where did you live?

I lived in the hills outside Lucca. I was far too young to appreciate it properly! I also had a summer near Ravenna/Bologna. I’ve not been to the south. I need to. Have a fantastic time.

Sorry to sound ridiculous but I'm worried I've injected into muscle - my husband did it for me this morning and no idea where he actually did it as I can't see a mark or feel any soreness! Is it best to inject into tummy as there's next to no chance of injecting into muscle?.

UglyBastardFace · 21/06/2025 18:27

@tgifginplease This all sounds fine. I did the same with my second injection, no issues and felt the Mounjaro effects.

I've done each of mine into my belly mainly so I could aee what I was doing each time

Hi all I started my first dose of mounjaro last Tuesday and by Thursday had to take days off work due to quite severe diarrhoea , stomach ache and vile sulphur burps.

it’s made me so worried to take second dose on Tuesday. I cannot afford to be off again. Has anyone else had these awful symptoms?

The needle is too tiny to be intramuscular. Don't worry xx

Thank you! I think it’s just the fear of doing it wrong!

Oh poor you. I think a good few people get quite strong reactions/side effects. Do you have a provider that gives any back up? Perhaps talk to them? If you’re on Facebook there is a fabulous page called Weight Loss Medication Support U.K. run by The Care Pharmacy (who is a provider, but I’ve not used them) and they are super with the support and advice they give, despite most people not being with them. It may be worth asking them..

SFRSmum · 21/06/2025 19:01

Im W1 D5, and although ive been eating much more healthier than normal, I was attributing it to a placebo type effect rather than the medication actually working its magic.
Well, tonight, the test of all tests. We had a 'picky bits' salad for tea. My ultimate meal, id usually fill 2 or 3 plates full. Then snack on bits after, but not tonight. I had a standard size plate. And when I was done, I didnt want anymore. I do believe this medication is working!

Im 3lbs down since starting, and as yet, no symptoms at all. Very hopeful for the future.

Inyournewdress · 21/06/2025 19:36

Hi everyone
Just took my first dose today so jumping on the ride with you!
I had a strange taste in my mouth about an hour after taking it but feel ok now. Just scared to eat!
Has anyone else got young children and if so have you found you’ve had to explain any side effects or anything to them?

Thornrose · 21/06/2025 19:49

Wk 2 Day 1

I went out for dinner to an Indian restaurant earlier.

I ordered tandoori sea bass which came with salad and raita, I couldn't face a curry. I picked at a bit of chapati on the side and I feel stuffed!

This is not like me 😂

Thanks so much for your help with this. Anyone who gets symptoms - do they tend to settle with time?

Digaj1984 · 21/06/2025 20:18

Following as I've ordered.
Couple of questions. Is there a dedicated board for discount codes?
What's the best day/time to take injection?
Where the most effective injection site on body in your opinion? Thank you!

I’m a bit scared of trying to use insulin syringes for the golden dose - are the needles bigger than the ones which come with the pens?

I also need to source a sharps bin…

Welcome @Mumofboys2006!

The other way to do the golden dose with needles the same size as those on the pen
For extracting https://medbasic.co.uk/1ml-unifix-luer-lock-syringe/?attribute_pa_quantity=10 and
https://medbasic.co.uk/30g-yellow-0-5-inch-13mm-unisharp-needles/?attribute_pa_quantity=10
Then unscrew the needle from the syringe and attach one of the below
To inject - https://medbasic.co.uk/mesotherapy-needle-34g-4mm/?attribute_pa_quantity=10

1ml Unifix luer lock syringe

1ml Unifix luer lock syringe - Medbasic

This is a high quality:

Hungryyyyy tonight. Had a cook curry and rice because it’s too hot to faff with doing anything from scratch. Just tomorrow to survive before second dose on Monday!

good news is seven days now achieved of no seeet things. I was eating nearly a bag of sweets a day before that so it’s amazing the injection has helped so much in taking away the cravings even when I went cold turkey.

I've found this! Did jab 4 Friday, ordered a nandos as too hot to cook and I had their salad. Absolutely incredible and no way id have ever even looked at the salad option before!

Also the sea bass sounds incredible!

Gingercar · 21/06/2025 20:36

I forgot to add the photo earlier. We used these syringes with small needles to extract the liquid from the pen and to inject it into me without changing the needle. It didn’t hurt any more than the normal pen.

I've got a strange taste in my mouth too - feels like this full of saliva and a bit metallic

Mumofboys2006 · 21/06/2025 21:07

Hi, has anyone else found they’ve got a really bloaty tummy? I don’t have indigestion or constipation but just wondered whether this was common.

I did my third jab yesterday. This week probably hasn’t been my best as it was my birthday. Haven’t weighted myself in a while. Clothes don’t feel particularly looser but let’s see 🤞🏼🤞🏼

in terms of suppression, I’ve had bouts of hunger and being ravenous but get full really quickly. Wondering whether to stay on 2.5mg.

im away for 10 days and also not sure whether to take the pen with me. I will be four days over by the time I can do the jab when I’m back.

I’ve found sugar free sweets help when it’s really bad

I still feel really full too, it's mad isn't it!

The sea bass was great, nice crusty spicy skin but you could still taste the delicate fish.

Feels like a healthy option 🤔

Puffalicious · 21/06/2025 21:52

Hey all,

W1D5

I've been lucky with very few side effects - bit constipated, but have gone a few times- but wondered if how I'm feeling tonight is because I've eaten too much?

Was at lovely BBQ & ate nice things. Felt okay at the time (4pm-5:30pm) but driving home (730pm) started to feel ill - sweaty/ sore tum/ woozy/ yuck, & I've been lying down ever since.

I had: halloumi, a meat-free chicken burger,(no bun) one meat-free sausage, spoonful of home-made coleslaw, 2 tiny new potatoes, 8 olives, caprese salad. One small rocky road mini bite with a cuppa later on. All in 1400 cals. But it was in one sitting with no food before at all (wasn't hungry & knew I'd be eating later).

I did have 2 cans of Pepsi Max - v unusual for me. Is it the caffeine, or my body reacting to the amount of food? Have had lots of water, & tea was de-caff.

I really feel like crap! Can anyone relate?
