Thank you, I feel good. I haven’t had much in the way of suppression. I can happily wait for a meal, I don’t get hangry like I might have, but when I eat I can eat a lot. I’ve not had any side effects at all. I’ve eaten really well, not counted calories at all, just cut sugar and processed food. I’ve eaten so much fruit and veg, and lots of Greek yogurt (full fat) and added loads of seeds to everything. I’ve REALLY enjoyed what I’m eating. But also aware that I have a very long way to go and it’s slowed down after a big ish start. I will be here a while!

Yep my breakfast either full fat Greek yoghurt fruit and seeds or porridge with full fat milk fruit and seeds.
I’m W3D2 and down 1/2 stone already, also not calories counting but I want healthy food and no cravings for unhealthy food yet. Long may it continue

Morning all. Weighed in 7lb off! Total now is 10lb off in 3 weeks.

dietstartstmoz · 21/06/2025 09:06

W4 D1 for me. Last 2.5 jab today. I have lost 1lb this week. 12lb loss over 3 weeks
SW 16st 4lb
CW 15st 6lb

I have had very little in the way of SE,.some quick dashes to the loo some mornings and mild heartburn but that's all. I think I'm going to go up to 5mg.

Is anyone else increasing to 5mg?

And how will that work compared to the 2.5? Like another poster has asked. Don't fancy having worse loo issues when I'm at work 😒

W2D1

down 2.9 kg (6.6lbs!) which I’m pleased with! Noticed appetite suppression lifting a bit yesterday so need to be careful today as would prefer not to jab until tonight. Kept drifting back to the ‘fridge last night despite having eaten plenty. And wanted chocolate for the first time in a few days. But have meals prepped and planned for today so hopefully it’ll be easier to ignore the fridge’s siren song.

anyone else noticed taste changes? Had some fizzy orange yesterday and it tasted utterly vile and chemically whereas it was a nice treat before. The fizz didn’t cause side effects though this time round so I suspect it was the cheesecake last time (or just the jab itself).

peppermint and liquorice tea definitely helped with the sulphur last week so I’m stocking up. Also quite nice cold - looking for calorie free cold drinks to replace fizz and cordial with. Still drinking plenty of water but want to ring the changes - anyone got a favourite?

I’ve tried twice to have a Diet Coke and couldn’t, it tasted weird and I didn’t want it.

@Gingercar Congratulations 👏 are you our first stone loser? Although stone winner feels like better terminology. Think we should have an award for everyone who hits a new stone loss. Here you are ……..🥇

Aw thank you.
I feel a bit of a fraud on here. I started the 20th May and I frequent this group and the May group. I felt a bit late to the May group and a bit early for this one. I love the chats on both.

Re the golden dose, I did it this week. I got these syringes with needles attached from U.K. medi and my husband used them to draw from the pen as well as to inject me. I took 4mg this week and didn’t feel any difference whatsoever- although I haven’t had any side effects or much suppression from the 2.5 dose all the way through this journey.

Nerdippy · 21/06/2025 09:53

.
W3D1 for me, one more 2.5 jab and then am moving up to 5. I'm with Med Express and got an email saying I can order the next pen. I thought it would be straight forward to order the 5 pen, but it seemed a bit clunky. Anyone else found this?

I decided to increase the dose because I haven't really had any suppression or side effects. Still eating fairly normally as fruits/seeds/nuts/yoghurt are my usual breakfast anyway. Have a light lunch and an evening meal of meats/fish, vegetables or salad and potatoes/rice/pasta. I'm not really snacking and, apart from chocolate, don't crave sweet things (more of a savoury person). I think the 4 lb loss is down to healthy choices rather than MJ.

Welcome to all the newbies - honestly I was really scared of the first jab, but didn't even feel it. Am an older lady so just trying to get back to a healthy weight which should help with my mobility, blood pressure and potential diabetes as I age.

Would love to be between 9 and 10 stone and have about 2 stone to lose.

Congratulations to @BonjournoMonjourno

wheretheheckissummer · 21/06/2025 09:58

Good morning all, please may I join? Royal Mail just delivered and I have taken it before I can talk myself out of it. Feeling a bit apprehensive and worried about side effects. Currently 16.6 I have lost 2 stone on weight watchers but have hit a plateau so thought I would give this a try. Really hoping it works for me as I need to lose the weight for health reasons.

We have the same starting weight - well done that’s amazing! Have moments where the journey seems too long and hard but we can do it!

Hello

so I’m coming towards the end of month 1 week 3!!

sw 12st 8lb
cw 11st 11.5lb

10.5 lbs lost !!! I’m delighted. So far. A big loss of 6lb in weekn1 and nice and steady since then.

so is anyone thinking of doing the golden dose and what syringes do you buy to do it !

Both of the pens I panic bought at the start (one said supply issues meant it would be delayed) came with spare needles, is that not true of all suppliers? That was Med Express and IQDoctor. I took my 4th injection today, there’s still liquid in the pen so I’m going to try for a 5th next Saturday, seems crazy to just throw it out!

I’m with voy and no spare needles are given. I have kept my medicine in the fridge the whole time since having it. I have seen a few pages back people have bought 1ml needles. Here’s the stupid question….do I just fill up the whole 1ml syringe ? Sorry if I sound really thick here !

I think the issue is that the pen itself locks after 4 doses, but I could be wrong. That's why I assumed people were buying spare needles to get the liquid out. Can anyone confirm this?

Week 5 -1st 2lb loss.Pleased with that👍🏻

Boxingshibes · 21/06/2025 10:30

My 1st pen arrives today! I'm excited/ nervous.

I'm 5ft8 an 99kg so really need to lose weight.
Wish me luck!

Totally get you. Feels small in the grand scheme of what I have to lose but also feels amazing!

I'm working on this time next year when it's a heatwave I won't feel like a whale trying to cool down

BadgerFace · 21/06/2025 10:33

@Gingercar I started 29 May so only a week behind you, very useful to have someone straddling the groups!

I am really pleased to be 11 Stone 7 this morning as a milestone to have got back there after about year of weight creeping up on me. I’m hoping that means I might lose 2 lb by the end of this week but we’ll see. I keep having events to drink at but avoiding the munchie calories at least…

I’ve also just realised that although I’ve not used MFP for years, the weight data goes back to when I first went on the app in January 2010. I was 25 lb heavier back then - wish MJ had been around a bit earlier!

In case helpful for anyone else to know, I spoke with my travel insurance this morning as we go away soon and I didn’t want an undeclared condition. As I have not gone through my GP apparently MJ is considered cosmetic so I won’t be covered but I think telling the insurers was still the right thing to do as I think they can refuse to pay out claims for unrelated issues if something comes out they don’t know about. So worth thinking about.

A dose from a 2.5mg pen is 0.6ml per this website.

Loving all the supportive posts on here 🥰🥰 and all the losses. 😍
I am wk 4 day 1 and I have lost another 2lb so that brings me to 8.4lb. I am now back to where I started after losing it by myself and putting half a stone back on. I am very pleased with that as also having NSV too with clothes fitting again. I have my 5mg pen ready in the fridge but ordered the sterile needles from UK Medi to take the last 2.5mg from the pen next week. This will save me from having to order twice a month if I can stretch it to 5 weeks. I will let you know how I get on with doing it.

If anyone else is a bit further ahead and has already done it please share. Just an FYI the needles that come with the kit are not the same you need to extract the left over amount; you need regular needles. I purchased these https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk?variant=53484951077243&utmsource=1Abandoned+Cart+Reminder+%28Shopify%29+%28Elevar%29+-&utmmedium=email&utmcampaign=Abandoned+Cart+Rebuilder%3A+Email+1+%28YsQJbK%29&twsource=Klaviyo&kx=QNoP2pa5cXTQ7KQOL3hSKa71IO7VpeRS1jlbYVMUw4.VEGAbk

from another posters shared link (thanks), they MUST be sterile, so do check prior to purchase. Good luck on another week! Onwards and hopefully downwards!

I have posted before about my nightly wine habit. I haven't had a drink since last friday. I went to the shop yesterday and the thought of buying and drinking a bottle of red wine just turned my stomach.

I bought a few canned fancy cocktails, because they're refreshing and taste lovely. One is still left in the fridge!

I really hope that I'm going to break the cycle, but it's only week one... so🤞🏻

About to do my second jab. I felt really light headed last Sunday so I'm on the lookout for that this time.

I weighed myself and I'm 3 lb down. A little disappointed as I could always lose that easily by just cutting down.

However, the test for me is whether I can consistently lose.

I think this is right.
You extract the 5th dose using a small, thin needle attached to a syringe.
put it upright and flick syringe to clear bubbles and gently plunge syringe until a bit of liquid emerges from the top. Then inject as normal.
ps I’m a physio trained to inject,

Tinybirdie · 21/06/2025 11:09

To those thinking whether to increase or not...everything i have read from users is to stay on the lowest dose for as long as you are getting suppression. I have bought 5mg syringe but, at the moment, would only inject a half dose as I'm still getting good suppression at 2.5. That doesn't mean I never get hungry. I do. But it's manageable. I have to learn to deal with hunger and not fear it. I wouldn't be in a hurry to rush up doses unless the suppression is pretty much gone. Slow and steady wins the race!

Puffalicious · 21/06/2025 11:17

MontysMum909 · 20/06/2025 08:21

@Puffalicious I tell you what else I’m noticing - it seems to be coming off my 53 year old menopausal belly !!!!!!!
im sure I read that it helps eliminate visceral fat 🤔

Gosh, this is GREAT news! Mine is like a small, firm doughnut all the way around, including my back, leading to the wobbly cream on top at the front 🙈.

Only Day 5 here. Was saying to OH last night as he munched some of his lovely birthday chocolates (he's so trim without trying - grrr) that even though I'd not usually eat any anyway, it's very different as before I would need to employ all will-power not to eat some, now I'm completely disinterested.

Big BBQ today at my boss's house. I'm not nervous at all. I'll eat healthy stuff (I'm pescatarian anyway) & I'm not a drinker, so no issues there. It's just lovely to not have the worry that I'll want to nibble & nibble at cheese & biscuits!

@Tinybirdie thanks 😊

I think that's excellent advice and I am hoping to do the same.

I'm seeing this as a total reset and it has been a long time coming.

I know I can't go back to my old ways if I want to be healthy going into my 60s in a few years.

baggybags · 21/06/2025 11:49

Logically that makes sense. I don't have the same suppression in wk 4 and am eating a little more averaging 1350 kcals but cravings are still reduced and find it easier to pick the better options.

baggybags · 21/06/2025 11:50

My 2nd pen has already arrived and I stuck with 2.5 (i'm on wegovy)
