Food shopping without the food noise is amazing! I can stick to the list and don't wander down the cakes, biscuits and chocolate aisle looking for a treat! I've had the odd biscuit or chocolate at home (hubby and kids buy them) but it's been one and I'm done.

I was hungry on the way home from work last night and my mind thought about stopping at a garage I pass, as I have done in the past. But I didn't stop because I didn't fancy what I'd usually get (crisps/sausage roll/pasty/chocolate) and felt a bit repulsed by the idea of those foods and decided I could wait till dinner! WHO AM I?! 😅

@Thornrose I have a long commute too and dreading gastro side effects kicking in . Only on wk1d2 and felt ok so far but not looking forward to Monday when I have to travel

I olive oil to make chips in air fryer. I toss them in it first before putting them in.

I injected in my stomach, but was so worried I’d got it wrong as I felt nothing! I’m going to try my thigh next time as my stomach is so soft I had to push for ages for the count of 5 because I could feel any resistance 😂.

weighed myself 🥁..
W1D4
SW 88kg
CW 85.7kg

2.3kg lost!

I’ve started some movicol and wondering if I’m getting constipated. I have issue that way anyway, due to medication, so thought I’d start.

The movicol is making me gag. Any tips?

averythinline · 20/06/2025 09:52

How are people tracking what they eat? Just been reading about the quantity of protein i should it and I had assumed Iwas ok but am miles off !
Hate paying for apps so was wondering if there was an alternative to my fitness pal??

W3 day 4 real mix of supression effects this week and levels food noise
1st hangover as drunk beer and wine even though didn't really fancy the beer.... Very strange.. but still drank it through habit... Thats not so strange...
Long way to go on mindset..

MadlyTrudyDeeply · 20/06/2025 10:00

I prefer the flavourless Movicol to the lemon. I bunge it in a smoothie, or dissolve in the smallest amount of water, neck it, then refill the glass to get the shrapnel and wash it down.

Day 2 week 1

Anyone else get horrendous wind, so glad I'm not at work today,? 😅

I get bad wind on MJ but I now take windease tablets and they have completely solved the issue for me so I'd give that a go x

Roxietrees · 20/06/2025 10:23

Anyone else feel like they’re losing weight TOO fast?! Didn’t think I’d ever be concerned about this as my main objective was always just to get it off as fast as possible! But I’ve lost 7lbs in 4 and a half days. I don’t even have that much to lose (3 stone). I know water weight can go up and down by a few pounds but I seem to have lost 3 lbs since last night! I have some appetite suppression so haven’t eaten that much - usually 2 boiled eggs for breakfast, a couple of apples, berries, an avocado, last night I had a small bowl of pasta for dinner but usually have keto style protein heavy dinner like chicken breast & veggies. Plus 2 protein shakes a day. Don’t get me wrong I am pleased I’m losing weight but I’m worried that I’m going to get really saggy skin. I’m early 40s with 3 st to lose. Do you think saggy skin is likely?

CreepingCrone · 20/06/2025 10:31

W2D2. 2nd jab at 2.5mg.last night. 5lbs off. Am.absolutely shattered after a work away day which involved running through the woods for 2.5hrs, racing the clock and other teams to find 4 things, all while being chased by trackers on quad bikes. I'm so unfit! Had to hide in ditches and under brambles 😱

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 20/06/2025 10:35

@averythinlineI use Cronometer, the free version. Much more accurate than MyFitnessPal

FoxRedPuppy · 20/06/2025 10:43

@Tinybirdie I’m a bit of a movicol expert (long term meds that cause it and SEND child!)

I get the flavourless one. I down it in one, as long as you make it in right amount of water (125ml) I then add a bit of squash to help.

@MadlyTrudyDeeply you have to make it in right amount of water otherwise it doesn’t work effectively. It needs that water because the way it works is to get your body to absorb more water into the bowel.

riverislanjeans · 20/06/2025 10:55

Currently on W2D5 and will jab again Monday! Can't believe this will be my third one!

I'm realistically thinking of staying on 2.5mg as I know I'm fine, suppression is good and I'm loosing weight. What's everyone's thoughts on 5mg?

DownhillAllTheWay · 20/06/2025 11:00

W1D6 here and the diarrhoea I had day 2 and 3 has gone - currently downing psyllium husk like it’s going out of business to deal with the constipation instead. Lots of burps still but not sulphuric any more.

im wondering if the effects I had were linked to what I was eating - I had cheesecake and lemonade on Sunday whereas the rest of the week it’s just been savoury food plus fruit. So wondering if it might have been all the extra fat/sugar and fizz maybe?

im not measuring my waist as I find that depressing. But a definite non-scale victory this morning - I didn’t need my belt extender, just the last hole on my belt! I’ll take that as promising.

Purpledaisybug · 20/06/2025 11:18

Took my first 2.5 dose last night. No ill effects so far.

SW 11st 13lb
TW somewhere between 9 &10 stone (when my clothes will fit!)
5ft tall and 51 yo

It's the texture. It feels slimey. Urgh.

That's helpful to know. I was thinking about doing it in a smaller amount of water. I just find the slightly thickened texture of it absolutely disgusting! Ive bought the citrus one. Drat, should have done plain. Ive just managed one by taking a mouthful of movicol and a mouthful of diluting juice. Foul! But this constipation is no joke!

Try daily fybrogel instead. Better than laxatives as a bit more natural. Tastes better too

Are you stirring it enough. I stir it for quite a long time. I stir for ages until you can’t see any powder.

Movicol is an osmotic laxative. It draws water into the stool through macrogel. It’s not bad like some laxatives. It just does what would happen it you drank gallons of water.

SomethingAboutYou · 20/06/2025 11:56

@riverislanjeans I've stuck with 2.5mg for second pen as I'm the same - no real side effects (aside from very mild constipation), decent suppression, still feeling hungry by mealtimes so I'm enjoying food, and losing weight steadily.

I might even stay on 2.5mg for a 3rd pen if it carries on like this! I'll be honest, I'm scared of potential side effects with moving up, but will probably feel differently if month 2 on 2.5mg becomes a bit of a write-off. Summer hols will be a challenge with days out with the kids etc so might need the extra help at that point!!

Has anyone ordered needles for the extra dose? I wasn't going to bother, but my curiosity got the better of me. Those I have seen online though that have been recommended on other threads are not sterile.......how are people getting round this issue? Has anyone got the same intention to use it?

I ordered some on Amazon. Just assumed they’re sterile 😳

I haven't needed any yet as Asda puts a couple of extra in with each pen, presumably in case they malfunction. I noticed the option of buying a pack (of 100?!) on the Asda order form though - it's a proper pharmacy so they must be sterile ones.

I use an app called "Lose It!" There is a premium version but the free version works absolutely fine for tracking food. It does calories, protein, carbs and fibre counting on the free version

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 20/06/2025 12:42

@Elsiedarlingputthekettleon

I ordered these on recommendation from another thread -

https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk

I hadn’t actually mentioned the sterile aspect but it does mention it in the description. They haven’t arrived yet but I’ll let you know how it goes when I get to the end of my first pen!

Happyscale is a great app for tracking weight daily as it averages out the daily fluctuations and gives you a good graph smoothed out, I loved looking at it - this was ozempic round 1.
