To work out how much weight you have lost

The formula to calculate your weight loss percentage is: lbs lost divided by starting weight. Then, multiply the result by 100.
Example:
(5lbs / 150lbs) * 100 = -3.33%
So, if your starting weight is 150lbs and you lost 5lbs, you’ve lost 3.33% of your body weight.

Note: Please keep in mind, this calculates total weight loss including muscle

ive lost 91 (6.5st) lbs. Was 242 (17s 4)

so 37.4%.

I’ve lost over a 1/3 of myself

91/242 X 100 - 37.4

When people are commenting on your weight loss, I'm finding more people asking directly.. "how much have you lost?" And when I say, oh some, it's not important, they ask again.. no, go on how much? .

Anyone else find they get this? . Like why do you want to know numbers??
I find it very strange..

morbidcuriosity · 04/07/2025 10:10

I might go with the %

I've lost 36% of my body weight..

I seem to be having a bit of a whoosh, lost a kilo overnight, expected it to be a blip and be back up the next morning but was down a bit further!

BMI this morning was 25 on the nose, so I decided to check my waist to height and waist to hip.

Waist to hip is still a way off, I'm top heavy with small hips so this is always the most difficult for me.

However my waist is now less than half my height! Amazing!!!!

Sorry struggling @WitchDancer. I’m def hungrier going down doses but guess means was doing something

walk away from the snacks but equally a little something is fine just not every day

glad life is better in own space. I totally get that ((hugs))

shame we aren’t all nearer each other and have a meet up

thanks @Weepixie. I’m eating healthier now so was suprised over the iron and anaemic

I’ve never been a huge milk drinker - have black tea but been like that since preg with dd so 9yrs

I have mikshakes and on cereal /porridge just not in tea

I eat cheese every day so don’t get why so low

Did you know that tea inhibits your ability to absorb iron? You should avoid having tea with a meal and having tea within an hour of taking a iron supplement.

The if you take iron tablets take them with a vitamin c drink or buy supplements that contain both.

morbidcuriosity · 04/07/2025 11:19

I think it's more from people, not friends that ask. I just find it quite rude..
Maybe it's just me, I'm getting annoyed with people commenting on me. I don't like the attention really..

FurForksSake · 04/07/2025 11:31

I’ve just worked out mine, just shy of 37%! More shocking was working out my start weight in pounds. I was nearly 200lbs, somehow in stone and pounds it sounds a lot smaller than that?

I haven’t measured with a tape at any point, might do that if I can find a tape which isn’t an extendable one!

I make mine 27.8%

Interesting that most of us have done better than the 20% the studies suggest.

PoemsForTea · 04/07/2025 12:44

I am also 27%

owlyboo · 04/07/2025 13:29

My percentage is 35% crazy when you think of it like that isn’t it! 1/3 of me!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/07/2025 13:55

I didn’t know that @WorriedRelative but as not on any iron supplements yet I will see what doc says

where I had almost 50lbs on you @FurForksSake

same @owlyboo. A third of me has gone
well def off my bum and boobs !!

looks sadly at deflated spaniel ears

@Blondeshavemorefunyouve done amazingly, I hope I didn’t offend. It’s just the milestone of 200 and being so close was a shock. I never felt that big until I saw photos.

im So glad to have found mj and taken a chance. And this thread has been amazing since I found it! Thank you for all the support.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/07/2025 16:01

I am also 27%

I have also lost 27%.

And just started having people asking me if I have lost weight. I've been prepared for it and just been breezy and said yes. If anyone asked me how much weight I would probably tell them to fuck off 😬

MabelSpan · 04/07/2025 18:54

I am another with 27% gone. Still a good way to go for me though...

Weepixie · 05/07/2025 04:26

I’ve lost 23% but nothing for the last couple of weeks though I’m ok with it (apart from being just a bit frustrated) as I know other posters have had the same thing happen. So it’s still about 1.5kgs for me till I’m at my chosen target.

4pink1blue · 05/07/2025 07:28

Hi ladies 👋 4 weeks with no jab and very happily fluctuating a couple of pounds up and down. Not finding maintenance as tricky as I thought due to the mj totally changing my eating habits.
My percentage lost is 44.1% which I find both amazing and embarrassing! I definitely feel so much healthier these days.

whethertheweather · 05/07/2025 07:47

Hello everyone. I'm back after a huge break so please forgive me if I put my foot in it as haven't read the whole thread.

I had a big wobble as I got stuck for about 6 weeks bouncing up and down around 73kg, and just couldn't seem to get past it. So I struggled to post as I was a bit downhearted. However, suddenly it started shifting again a month ago- no idea why as I didn't change anything, and I'm now 69.9kg so I've met my latest target of 11st.

Really happy, and in celebration I rewarded myself with my very overdue smear test and called up to sort out a mammogram 😀 I've been too self-conscious to go for the last 3 years, which I know is ridiculous but that's what my head was saying to me.

MJ has helped me lose 28% of my starting weight without resorting to eating dust or no carbs, and I still have a full head of hair whereas previous crash diets have made it fall out. All good. I also bought and wore in public a pair of shorts in the heat, and I never thought I would do that again.

I still have a wobbly tummy and, although even I can see they are reducing, thunderish thighs. I'd like to lose another 5kg and then I'll start reducing dose and maintaining. I'm hoping new habits for both eating and exercising will finally stop my yo-yo..

Today is my birthday, and I'm off to stay overnight in London, have dinner with my kids and their partners and go to a show. Feeling positive!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/07/2025 13:56

Nice to hear from you @whethertheweather. Happy birthday 💐

many of us have saggy tummies / I def do !!

nearly 50% is amazing @4pink1blue

and I have to ask lol. Do you have 5 kids

Hi Blondes and well done. Thanks for this information..I have worked out mine now..drum roll.....
Based on target I got to before my daughter's wedding and my 3 week holiday I have lost 22% BUT if I use the heaviest weight I was....around age 50 when I was over 14 stone at a height of 5 foot I have lost 38%.
I managed to stay around 11 stone for a good few years and even got to 9 stone 7 without MJ. I have only achieved 8 stone 7 since being on MJ.

Anyway I am happy with my recent 22% (it has probably gone up over the last 3 and a half weeks)

Azuresky68 · 05/07/2025 14:12

@whethertheweather welcome back!

Azuresky68 · 05/07/2025 14:26

Sorry for the long post but who else will understand?
Good afternoon! Just catching up on the thread after my holiday, although I have dipped into it while away.
Well done on all the % weight losses everyone one. Just worked mine out and posted in my reply to @Blondeshavemorefun

Update
Got back from holiday yesterday (Friday) 5 pm.
We had arrived at our departure airport 24 hours before that.
Our flight was delayed for 16 hours due to French Air Traffic control strikes.
We had to sleep (not much sleep) in chairs at the airport overnight. Not complaining as I had a lovely time and these things happen. No pets, kids or work to worry about so not a big impact on us. But I have eaten rubbish over last 2 days and now craving nice healthy food! But no clue what I fancy.
It's my birthday tomorrow but we went out for lots of meals on holiday so not even planning a meal out tomorrow.

I am going to keep my weigh day on Fridays so will assess the damage next Friday.

Maintenance
I was at target a month ago for my daughter's wedding. Due to the wedding and 3 week holiday I decided to give myself half a stone leeway so I dont feel like I have been properly on maintenance yet.

As from Monday I will be back on straight and narrow with no alcoholic drinks...
