Ooops I forgot to say my daughter is cooking me a birthday meal later this week and it's my partner's 70th on 17th July..I have arranged a surprise family gathering for him.
There are always celebrations and events to deal with so really I can't keep using them as an excuse for eating and drinking.

Does anyine else understand the following...?
....
Despite my positive tone I guess I am a bit annoyed with myself that I still associate celebrations and good times with food and drink so then I blame myself for all my weight problems..feeling bad 👎

Azuresky68 · 05/07/2025 14:46

Hi again. Just started reading through it but realised it would take too long to read it all and some of the comments were really nasty about people using MJ 😱

Let's hope it all blows over.

i would like to think i can get it to keep me at maintenance of BMI 24 at 8 stone 7 pounds but at 9 stone I am classed as overweight at BMI 25.4 and I would be OK with that weight and could get MJ to keep me there.

I got as far as reading that a couple of other providers have failed and that Hyra had commented on FB page about it.

What are your thoughts on it all @Blondeshavemorefun?

FurForksSake · 05/07/2025 15:08

I totally understand the food and celebration. It’s something we have spoken about as parents (dh and I) and how we separate it for our boys. I think society is very set up to celebrate with food or alcohol.

my son (9) will have three things to celebrate, an award he received at school, a karate grading and completing a swimming stage. He already expects a treat in the form of food for those as that’s what we have taught him :( we are trying to work out what to offer as treats that seem like a good alternative! Food and drink are so quick and accessible.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/07/2025 13:56

Nice to hear from you @whethertheweather. Happy birthday 💐

many of us have saggy tummies / I def do !!

nearly 50% is amazing @4pink1blue

and I have to ask lol. Do you have 5 kids

Yes I do! 4 girls, 1 boy...as you would expect from my user name. They range from 28 down to 12 but he has additional needs so seems younger.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/07/2025 18:39

Waves to @Azuresky68. Glad you had a nice holiday tho boo for delay

7lbs leeway is good as if creeps up then know need to diet

I ideally want to stay at 11 as know I can’t keep it there. If creep to 11.4 I know I need to diet /cut down

I’m 10.11 at the moment as lost last week when wasn’t even trying and I ate more

I’m going to have my birthday and holiday and see where I am come middle of aug once home

I think we all have to enjoy to eat and drink and if lots of celebrations about then that’s fine

just once over get back on the horse so to speak

they were nasty @Azuresky68 but it was more the Ousch ref

i got an email from them saying they need to do a video call so have booked one for next week - need scales and tape measure

wow at 5 kids @4pink1blue. They must be so proud of you !! The older ones

Oh and I got a call from hospital. Seeing a consultant Monday as they are rushing me through on 2week cancer pathway due to low blood /iron

OP posts:
Weepixie · 05/07/2025 18:57

@Blondeshavemorefun try not to be worried that you’re being referred under the 2 week pathway. It just a quick way for you to be seen, and very often it’s wrongly used by Gp’s to avoid a patient being on a waiting list that would otherwise be years long. I know this because of the years I spent on UK based forums when I had my cancer, but you only have to look at the health boards here to see how often people are referred under the 2 week pathway. Some hospitals must have a revolving door it’s so many. Oh and I forgot to mention the article I read in the press just a couple of months ago that covered the pressure the 2 week pathway is under because of misuse by many Drs doing the referrals.

I know it’s scary but a 2 week referral isn’t what it used to be and I hope you can get some comfort from that.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/07/2025 18:58

Oh I’m not worried About the 2w thing. I know they rush it through. I def don’t think I have cancer

tho wish I wouldn’t bruise so badly as legs look awful at the moment

@morbidcuriosity I agree, it is just rude for people to ask blatant questions about your weight. Do you ask about theirs? "Oh how much weight did YOU put on this Christmas?"

I remember the same when (eons ago) I was pregnant and a colleague wanted to know all the details of how long we'd been trying. I said: "when you're willing to share all the details of your sex life, whether you used condoms, whether you were on the pill, how often you had sex... then I'll share my story with you." They never asked again!

And btw I've lost a quarter of my body weight. That's got to be good.

@whethertheweather how fantastic! a smear and a mammogram. Every part of this programme is helping our health. I have been to the dentist (a phobia of mine) but somehow the new found confidence is helping me is all kind of different ways. And happy birthday Flowers

@Azuresky68 Glad you had such a good time. I know that alohol makes such a vast difference to my weight gain or loss, so good idea to go booze free before you weigh again - you might be surprised.

Please try not to worry ...I had a very similar experience. Got referred by doctor on the Saturday and seen by the consultant by the Wednesday..it really scared me but all was fine..nothing wrong at all. Better to have these things checked and get your bloods sorted. Sending best wishes ❤️

Thanks @Azuresky68. I’m not too worried. I know they send via the 2w to make sure nothings wrong

I def don’t think I have cancer tho the bruises I have are viscous and stay for weeks

but that may also be as low bleed

Really happy, and in celebration I rewarded myself with my very overdue smear test and called up to sort out a mammogram 😀 I've been too self-conscious to go for the last 3 years, which I know is ridiculous but that's what my head was saying to me

I understand, though with me I also neglected my health and didn’t see Drs because I was scared they’d find something horrible. I was terrified of being very ill so I didn’t go to the Drs which was a sure fired way of more than likely dying if they did find out I had a nasty. And then it was discovered I did have something nasty but was only discovered because I grew a 6kg ovarian cyst in my tummy and I had to go to the Drs - anyway, for sure I’d be dead now of my malignant ovarian cyst had been of a normal size as by the time I’d gone to the Drs about any vague symptom I’d have been at the point of no return. Following on from that nightmare my health has never been better as it took me on a journey that involved looking after every part of me, my physical, emotional and mental health, and Mounjaro had been the last part of the journey.

The things we’ve done to ourselves. 🙈

Weepixie · 06/07/2025 03:55

@Azuresky68 hi there, how are you? It seems you had a smashing holiday and I’m happy for you.

I’m going to come back later today and join in the posts you’ve made about food and celebration but for now I need to think about it then type rather than think and type at the same time.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/07/2025 15:26

From the tread about cutting off at 25

From the Oushk live
It appears the GPhC is being really difficult with online pharmacies - some of the points they picked up against Oushk
Clinical questionnaires/consultation forms are not indepth enough they need to somehow include if a patient is committed to changing their lifestyle (diet and exercise)Because it is a high risk medication they are asking for working closer with GPs before prescribing, but Oushk say that is not realistic as pharmacies cannot get access to GPs so to try to navigate that they are going to be asking for lots more information from patients and not quite sure how it is going to work, but things like asking if you have had any recent blood tests to upload them, and annual checks etc. Not sure how that will work in Scotland as we don't have access to ours on NHS app.Reorder consultations need to be more indepth - did you have any issues with your pen, do you know how to use it, did you store properly, do you feel you are eating enough, can they offer supplementation, have you changed you diet etcThe need to prove they are educating patients, so even though they have had some Q&As with nutritionists/PTs etc they haven't logged who attended. So they will probably be creating short nutrition and fitness education courses on their app and patients will need to complete them. They hadn't done 100% of the weight verification videos so got penalised for that. They were asked if a patient transferred to them they need proof and details of their FIRST order to show they qualified for the treatment initially which they think is unrealistic tooThey had 2 complaints from customers over 18 month about warm pens so got a black mark for that too. also they were unloading a delivery during the inspection so they got a black mark for the fridge temperature being slightly higher just because unloadingSomeone skinny (not quite but BMI 23) arrived to pick up a pen during the inspection and they challenged why they were being prescribed even through they could show the persons whole journey of a year long in their recordsthey feel BMI 19.5 is too low for maintenance so they might need to increase to 21They don't think the inspector understands obesity or maintenance so she is trying to explain to them and share Eli Lilly informationThey have to change a lot of things within 28 days so consultation forms will be changing soon, and they are going to be asking for waist measurements and if possible something to prove height, but they understand for some patients that will be difficultThey were challenged on why they were prescribing after 5pm when operating hours are 9-5pmThey will probably initiate a maintenance video call as soon as each patient hits BMI 25 now to discuss plans rather than when they hit their chosen goal weight (if lower)The GPhC seems to be coming from the view point that patients lie (going from some posts on this board don't blame them!) which is making it much harder for online pharmacies to get the proof they need that patients are eligible
Lots going on from the inspection, they never really explained their earlier post in depth (or I missed it because Tesco came with my online delivery!), but were very much, don't worry it won't be a problem and they'll find a way (as usual) but it does sound like the GPhC is going to be making things difficult for pharmacies.

Thanks for posting that @Blondeshavemorefun I am really glad I started when I did! And that I've got a spare pen in case there are problems in the short term.

A BMI of 19.5 would be too low for me, but I'm 64 this month, so I'd look like a scrawny wrinkled chicken if I was 7 stone 12!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/07/2025 18:43

Agree 19/21 is too low and people look awful but 22/23 average or people like me 24+

I think I look good. Yes I finally see it ha ha and hopefully can keep it there

sorry the copy and paste took out the paragraphs so bit hard to read

Ithinkimrincewind · 06/07/2025 19:40

So I totally get what everyone is saying about lower end bmi being too low but I have ended up with a bmi of 19.5. Not because I wanted to drop quite as low as this but because alongside losing 39% (thanks for formula @Blondeshavemorefun) of my body weight/ changing my eating habits, I rediscovered my love of fitness. So I am trying to add calories to compensate for my training. Im moving back down the pens and am on 5mg just now. I have scheduled my weight check call for next week but im now worried they'll cut me off b4 I'm ready to fully come off. Sorry for the long post!

Addictedtobeauty · 06/07/2025 19:46

Thanks @Blondeshavemorefun . I just ordered another one and the form is already asking for more info regarding blood tests, medical investigations etc. I have a couple of pens on hand and didn’t really need to order just yet but if things change quickly, I don’t want to be cut off. I’m just under BMi 25 now but would like to lose another stone ideally. I do need to start my strength training again as well.

owlyboo · 06/07/2025 19:51

@Ithinkimrincewind’normal’ bmi is between 18.5 -24.9 anything within that range is just that. Normal! It’s personal preference/how we hold our weight etc. to where you want to end up. I completely disagree that the lower ranges are to low. They maybe to low for what each individual wants for themselves but it’s not to low for health etc.

my bmi is around the 23 mark. I’m around a size 10. I’m happy at that and think if lost more I would find it difficult to maintain but equally I think I would fine at a lower weight just smaller!

in regards to buying more MJ I agree you maybe in the danger zone of them saying no more but 🤞 they allow you to order more to come down slowly as you should.

morbidcuriosity · 06/07/2025 20:02

Just catching up with last few posts here.. I've also just ordered another from oushk, even though I still have a full one in the fridge.. but yes there are already more questions on the form about blood tests etc.. and also says about weight verification call that you need one to continue.. I've ordered my pen for delivery 15th, but my call is booked in for 14th. So they might not want to send me my pen till I've had that call, who knows.. I've had the maintenence call chat thing, so I may get it..
Also the BMI thing, mine is now 23.6 I think, something around there but I kinda wanna lose another 7lb ish still. My goal is to stay in the 11s.. so am currently trying to maintain but slowly lose another few...

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/07/2025 20:45

I can’t imagine they will cut us off esp if been with them a while but ……
my video call is thur I think
