I'm 46, 47 next month. I think we have a lot of July/Aug birthdays bc that was when everyone decided to make changes around their weight.

Just realised that if we get to a new thread, we'll have to name it 'Aug 24' as presumably a load of Aug 25 people are about to start!

FurForksSake · 30/06/2025 10:45

Well I’m 8st13 this morning, not for the reasons I’d like and it was not stick. I’ve had severe opioid induced constipation for a few weeks. I’ve been using laxatives and stool softeners for a few days to no avail. Well, it’s gone. I imagine I am now quite dehydrated and as k rehydrate I’ll go back up, and that’s fine. I’ll get back here.

at least I don’t have the awful constipation!

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/06/2025 20:26

Good point @lookathatbookcase. I shall make it clear it’s our long going thread plus that will be number 16/17 so surely obvious

Wow. We are so close to being on MJ for nearly a year. Thanks to @Blondeshavemorefun for keeping us going.

so I’m still on my huge stall BUT interesting thing, well might not be for anyone else but is for me haha. I bought some new linen trousers from M&S on 17 April according to my M&S account. Weight was 12st 3lb according to my Renpho scales record and I bought a size 16.

they are now huge on me, so I had to get another pair ( I pretty much live in them for work going out etc, wash and back on again straight away)

so bought a size 14 and they fit perfectly….current weight is 12st 3lb.

exactly the same weight but a complete size down. What a strange drug this is!

morbidcuriosity · 01/07/2025 09:29

My Monday weigh in is good.. I know its Tuesday but work got in the way..
11.09 today, so 3lb away from my 7 stone loss and 5lb away for my 100lb.. I worked it out wrong last time I think..
But happy with this, honestly when I started this seeing an 11 on the scales didn't even register in my brain, the thoughts that I may get down to the 12s was what I thought ambitious .. but here we are! .
I won't see the 10s, I honestly don't want to see the 10s as my height and build won't suit it..

And the stop now comments have started which annoy me, my body, my rules...

FurForksSake · 01/07/2025 09:38

Well done @morbidcuriosity that’s amazing journey.

I get annoyed by the comments about stopping and about looking gaunt. I’m 5ft2/3 and now 8st12 but I can see I still have some weight to lose on my tummy. Definitely not gaunt at all.

WorriedRelative · 01/07/2025 10:38

Perhaps if we use Auggies again rather than August it might help avoid confusion

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/07/2025 10:51

@BettyandtheVets you have obv lost inches. Do you measure and jot down. I do once a month now so need to do today

yes I’m having these comments now

tho I say which is true. I’m happy with my weight. I’m maintaining not losing or gaining

I’ve had a couple of blood tests recently due to being on naproxen for ankle

i am extremely anaemic and low in iron and doc quite concerned about me

I feel fine. Said I’m the healthiest I’ve been for a while. Obv know about mj as on my records

I got re tested a month later and blood count even lower 🙀😢

ive just done the poo test to make sure no cancer of bowel. not sure why they think that due to low blood /iron

so waiting results for that

the only thing I notice is that I bruise really badly recently - have a corker of one on my shin. I hit it on the open dw. Not once but twice ffs

this was about a month ago and bruise still there

FurForksSake · 01/07/2025 11:12

the test will look for blood in stool, to see if you are losing blood there and not noticing it.

I had a positive result on one of those, colonoscopy and several polyps removed and biopsies, but completely clear for cancer.

anaemia of unknown origin just flags them to rule out potential causes before they treat it.

changes in metabolise and weight loss can trigger anaemia, hopefully you’ll need at worst a transfusion and then supplements to keep on top of it.

BettyandtheVets · 01/07/2025 11:28

Oh @Blondeshavemorefun i hope you’re ok. Keep us in the loop if you want and feel able to. We’ll be here for you while you get it sorted - as you have been for us.

Hi everyone. Just reading through aĺl the lovely posts and it made me really happy and proud! What a great group we are! So it seems I am the oldest on here 🤔 but I am still a bit naughty 😜
We were out with a group of people the other night and talking about age....I said I was looking forward to being 69 as it was my favourite number...that got a few laughs 😃 I pointed out my other half had just had a year of being 69 too. We both have our birthdays in July. Back home on Thursday after 3 great weeks away. Will check in again soon. All the best to everyone x

@Blondeshavemorefunhonestly I’m delighted I had the colonoscopy and polyps out. I got a diagnosis of diverticulosis and IBS and a proper look at all my bowels.

I think in the US colonoscopy is done routinely after a certain age? We don’t seem to do much here.

Azuresky68 · 01/07/2025 18:08

@Blondeshavemorefun I had to have a colonoscopy and was a bit worried....no issues after all but it still stressed me out. Hope you are feeling OK? We are very lucky to have an NHS that checks things out very quickly for some things. I know it's not perfect for everything. Take care and hope all is OK. Sending hugs xx

Azuresky68 · 01/07/2025 18:09

@Blondeshavemorefun if you can ask for sedation for this procedure. That means you need someone with you but defnitely best option x

My first colonoscopy about 10 years ago told me I had a pre disposition to diverticulitis.. nothing to worry about BUT my partner ended up in hospital for 5 days in lockdown with his. He had a perforated bowel but thank goodness it healed. This time for me they removed a couple of polyps...almost like having an MOT with only a small tweak. Waiting for a endocrinologist appt about high-level in calcium in blood but not worrying about that one.

100% agree. Push for it (if that's not an inappropriate way to phrase it) if they don't offer.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/07/2025 23:56

I still don’t get how they go from low blood /iron to colonoscopy - hoping my sample will show all is fine as I don’t feel ill

OP posts:
Weepixie · 02/07/2025 05:22

@Blondeshavemorefun I reckon it’s because of your age. That he’s just being extra careful given that you’re at an age when your bowels would be getting closer scrutiny anyway. There are also your other test results which can be so easily explained away with your weight loss, maybe even heavy periods due to your age, and it’s made your dr think - let’s just do a colonoscopy anyway.

It’s what’s happened to me except my test will be from the other end yours is being done. I saw the surgeons a couple of weeks ago for my hernias and mentioned my horrible acid reflux (which I’d wrongly thought was hernia related) and he’s now referred me to the gastro team even though I know the acid is Mounjaro related. If I had known the acid wasn’t related to my hernias I’d not have mentioned them to him but I did and now I’m having a ct scan and a camera thing to swallow.

I think we can end up in these positions without really trying at times but I’m glad the surgeon is being so thorough.
