Sending hugs and encouragement to those who are a bit stuck. It’s frustrating but the scales will start to fall again.

When I started in January, I measured my waist as instructed, and was horrified to see it was 42 inches. I think I have avoided measuring it again because I was convinced it would be 40 or something equally disappointing. But I did it today…..

32 inches. I have lost ten inches round my middle and now my waist is exactly half my height 😇.

Also lost a pound so now sitting at 10:0. There will be major celebrations when I get somewhere starting with a 9!!!

Ladies! I’ve just had the very best compliment that has me bursting with joy! My face really shows when I am putting on or losing weight and so of late, I’ve lost my jowls, have a jaw line again, cheekbones are back look less puffy etc.

I’m 50 next year and so whilst not obsessed at all, am conscious of aging and looking after myself (hence this journey). I was standing in my sports gear, make-up free, pre-shower after working out and DH said to me that I’m getting more beautiful with age!!!

I’ve never been a beauty in any way shape or form and so to hear this has me dancing on air!

Could I ask some advice please. At the moment I am click counting on a 7.5 pen. I am up to 55 clicks so nearly full dose but not quite. This is my second 7.5 pen and initially I had great losses but over the last month or so it’s slowed right down to about a lb a week. So still going down but I’ve got another 3 stone to lose (have lost just under 3 so far).

the reason I’m not at the full 7.5 yet is side effects. I get bad wind (really bad/clear the room sulphur burps) which I can’t get to improve via otc meds. I also get good suppression all week. Even today where I’m due to jab tonight, I’m mildly hungry but that’s it. My calories are consistently tracking between 1000 - 1200, usually the lower end of that.

i don’t really want to eat less. I am eating fairly good quality food with a bit of treat stuff (a few squares of chocolate or ice cream mostly).

i am short so my TDEE is lower than many and I’m not moving as much as i could. I do have an op coming up which will see me sofa bound for a week or two as well so that’s not likely to change much in the short term.

do I move up to the full dose in an attempt to kick start my loss a bit and hope the wind doesn’t get worse or do I stay where I am and try and make peace with the trickle loss? Marathon not a sprint and all….

wwyd?

myladyjane · 12/06/2025 08:24

@meatyryvita what a lovely thing for him to say.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 12/06/2025 08:53

aww that's fabulous, @Zempy and @meatyryvita
And I get the face thing, I have a friend who has a slim face no matter how much she weighs, but my face really looks bloated like a full moon whenever I gain a bit. Makes any weight gain so much more visible.

Zempy · 12/06/2025 09:03

Honestly @myladyjane, I would stay on the dose that sounds right for you, but cut out the chocolate and ice cream.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 12/06/2025 09:23

Morning ladies! I'm thinking of taking a second dose within a week as I've definitely got the food noise back, has anyone done this? I last dosed on Saturday morning at 6.5, think i need to go up so was thinking to dose again today or tomorrow rather than waiting until Saturday.

I had horrible stomach issues for about three weeks at one point (other end, TMI), but then they settled and have been completely fine since. So it does change over time (for me at least).
However, if you are comfortable at that dose and losing a pound a week I’d stick with it for the moment. It’s still downwards. Get your op over with then maybe think about whether to increase sounds like a possible plan? You just need to make sure the treats don’t creep up and stop your very impressive losses.

BlueLimes · 12/06/2025 10:02

@myladyjane I’d also stick with your current dose, it sounds like you have a really good handle on calories and food. Increase post after recovery? I hope it goes well and don’t put too much pressure on yourself.

BlueLimes · 12/06/2025 10:05

@Zempy you are doing amazingly!
@meatyryvita so lovely 😊

Load of sympathy to my fellow tortoises.
my body really wants to stay at 10.3, I however don’t, so the battle will continue.

3rd Bodypump class done! Still not made it all the way through the lunge track. 🤪

Aww, that takes me back! I used to love Bodypump! None of the other Les Mills stuff ever appealed to me, but I did Bodypump for years. Still listen to some of the tracks 😆!

After my gain last week, I’m relieved that the weight is back to going down this week, 1 kg off. Phew!
I’ve decided to stay on 7.5mg for now, as there is no food noise, it’s just my bad (automated) habits. Now I’m logging food again, I feel back in control, and the mindless late snacking has stopped. How will I nip this I the bud, though?!?

myladyjane · 12/06/2025 10:53

Thank you. The treats are very low level and deliberate btw - I have a tendency to be a bit disordered in my thinking by being either angel or demon so have a tiny bit of something to prove to myself I don’t have to be perfect. When I first started I essentially ate totally clean for 3 months and started to get anxious about ‘bad food’ so this is my way of aiming for moderation not perfection

MJalltheway · 12/06/2025 11:35

I really enjoy the Bodypump class, although I can hardly walk afterwards!

I'm in such a good exercise routine, I can't quite believe it. I was out with friends the other night and one asked what I was doing and when I started listing what I do on different days she looked quite shocked! I feel like it's part of my life now, I enjoy it so much, it doesnt feel like I'm doing that much if you see what I mean. It's not a chore, it's something I look forward to. Who'd have thought it?!

@meatyryvita what a lovely comment 🥰

mince3point14159265 · 12/06/2025 12:57

I may regret this but wanted to report back on the Trinny London Elevator.
It’s just under 7 weeks since I started using it and I definitely think it is helping. The cream itself has a lovely consistency for massaging into the neck, and I really like the smell (I do actually place quite a bit of importance on this aspect of beauty products, as there’s nothing worse than rubbing something on your face that smells horrible!).
Not sure how much of the improvement is due to the cream and how much is due to massaging twice a day, but either way, the cream is lovely to rub in. Hope it’s not like one of those dodgy fb vids of magic wrinkle reducing eye creams, and is just a temporary effect!

I’ve just checked my measurements from the beginning of the year and my most impressive loss seems to be from my neck (wtf! 😂); I've gone from 39cm to 33cm so no wonder there’s so much loose skin! 😬

The top left photo was 7 weeks ago, very loose jowls etc. Think it got possibly worse as I lost more weight (photos top right & bottom left), but took another photo 2 days ago (bottom right) and thought I could finally see some improvement. Hope that’s not just my eyesight going! I did try to take the photos in the same location so that the light was similar.

Have been enjoying using the other Trinny products too, and where I tend to rub in any excess product into the back of my hands, think they’re looking better as well!

Wow @mince3point14159265 it really does look like it has worked! Congratulations!

I just booked yet another holiday, so I won’t be buying any at the moment…

Might put it on my birthday list though.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 12/06/2025 13:19

@mince3point14159265 wow indeed very noticeable difference!

MJalltheway · 12/06/2025 14:57

That looks great @mince3point14159265 , marked improvement! (wonder if the Trinny site is now going to be inundated with MJ folks all placing an order...!)

Wow that is genuinely impressive! A huge improvement!

asparagusfearne · 12/06/2025 16:29

@myladyjane I'm totally with you with not banning the treats. If they're fully off the table, if I have one I'd probably end up binging that day because it's a 'one off'.
But finding it much better to still enjoy a few chocs here and there, not a share bag in one go! The mj really does help with the restraint in that respect, but I hope it is forking into a habit. I had one finger of the Beuno and was more than happy to put the second half in the fridge.

2025istheyeari · 12/06/2025 17:05

Hi all,

wow that is a super impressive result @mince3point14159265 !!!! I bought some off Vinted a couple of days ago, due to be delivered today so 🤞🏻, I’ll be very happy if I get similar results!!

@myladyjane i agree with you on the small things, I’m trying to build something that’s maintainable and I’m very much of the mindset that by denying myself I’ll either binge eat them or put weight on when I do reintroduce them. I struggled for the first few weeks on 7.5 and 2 on 10 but seems to have settled now. Like others have said though, I’d probably stay on 7.5mg, get your op
and recovery out of the way and then make a decision. Good luck!

@meatyryvita aaw🥰, that’s so lovely!!

@Zempy. Impressive measurement changes!!

Weigh day and jab day for me.
Had a really wierd experience this week. Lots of stressful stuff going on ( not connected to MJ) which has made me confused about what day it it. On Tuesday evening I got the pen out all ready to jab ( early as we had workmen starting early the next day) realised just in time I was 24 hours early! Then today, when I usually jab at 7am , it was lunchtime and my son came in saying it was Thursday . . . I argued hard it was Wednesday 🤣
Anyway, jabbed in the middle of the work day (wfh) which is a new experience for me.
Now I am so far into the journey it seems so ordinary but previously I was scared of moving the jab even by a few hours!
So . . . after all that 5mg again- still losing but may go up a bit for next week, I'll see how I get on. Lost another 1.25lb this week.
SW 15st 12
CW 12st 10.75lb
1st GW 14st 6lb MET!! 🎉
2nd GW 13st 3lb MET!! 🥳 🎉
Final GW 12st 0
Total loss so far 3st 1.25lb!
Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing! ❤️ xx

LillethCrane · 12/06/2025 19:29

I’ve finally had people notice my weight loss- and it’s been quite a dramatic reaction! I last saw my colleagues in person in March when I’d lost two stones and at the time I got a few compliments that my hair suited me (I’d not done anything different to my hair, but wondered if people might have noticed my change of face shape a little?). Yesterday I saw my colleagues again and this time I’ve lost 3.5 stones- so many people came up to tell me how much weight I’ve lost, was it intentional, it suits me etc.

Today I worked with a client who I’ve only worked with once, in February, and she did a double take when I walked in. She said she thought I was someone else as I look so different! She was very complimentary but urged me not to lose any more weight- no chance, still 1.5 stones until first goal.

It’s so odd that it’s taken 3.5 stones for the difference to be noticed- I would have expected it much sooner but it must be the paper towel effect that others have talked about.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 12/06/2025 20:01

I swear by paper towel theory. I lost most of the weight and had some 'have you done something different' comments - but suddeny with the last few kilos, there has been a veritable avalanche of comments and questions from everybody and their dog - including from people that see me all the time.

DGonMJ · 12/06/2025 20:49

Hi all, hooray for the losses and lovely to hear all the positive reactions some of you are experiencing.

I’m still attempting to find a balance for maintenance. Had a bit of a panic Tuesday and Weds that I’d lost too much and tried hard to eat more. Feels counterintuitive to force myself to eat, when really I just need to tirate down on the next dose in order to increase my appetite. I guess I can experiment each week with a new lower dose until I get to a point where I’m not forcing food down me but also not feeling like I’m having to deprive myself to keep my weight in check.

What dose are you on currently? I'm on 2.5 and I'm not sure yet as don't forget it titrated down like it titrated up so the first couple of weeks on 2.5 were fine but now it feels a little low - I ate a whole bad of Reese's minis (although when I totted up the calories of everything that day I was within maintenance...) I'm definitely not ready to come off and will probably microdose to come down really slowly - depending on how weight is I might jab more than 2.5 to bring levels back up a bit.
On dosediary graph this is 5, 3.16, 2.5, then 2.5 jabbed two days early to move from Wednesday to Monday, 2.5. I almost feel I want to be back up at the previous two peaks which would require a bit more than 2.5 to get there. I will maybe hold at 2.5 for two weeks and see what happens
