@sociallydistained many thanks for your feedback; glad 10 seems to be ok for you. It's so difficult trying to work out what's best when it seems to affect all of us so differently! 🙏

Sorry to hear the troubles some of you are having re children & bullying. At least when we were younger we didn't have social media invading our every waking moments. It's horrible what some kids will put others through now. 🤬

I feel I'm definitely going to inject 12.5 this week as I'm struggling with cravings. So only one week of 10 on this 12.5 pen 😂

mince3point14159265 · 22/06/2025 16:59

This is for you @discov ; wear the damn shorts!! 😁

mince3point14159265 · 22/06/2025 17:03

Sorry, still not sure it's working but you get the idea!

mince3point14159265 · 22/06/2025 17:05

@Polkadotdash there definitely is something weird going on with people nowadays where they think by commenting on your weight there is an implied criticism that you were fat before. Like duh! 🙄 Think I bloody knew that!! 🤣

Zempy · 22/06/2025 19:55

@PolkadotdashNobody commented on my weight loss either at two stone down. I had to lose 7-10 pounds more before anyone noticed! Now I’m three and a half down it’s very noticeable.

I am really enjoying the heat in Alsace, I think it hit 34 here in Strasbourg today. A bit cooler tomorrow but still shorts weather. It makes me so bloody happy!!! Sorry to those of you that hate it…

Had a Niçoise salad for dinner, sitting by the river. I thought about ordering a glass of wine but I really didn’t fancy it. It’s like I’m a different person.

Carry On Losing, Losers!!!

Polkadotdash · 22/06/2025 20:05

I probably just need to get over myself. Or maybe I need to start running around naked? Or wearing a tshirt on saying ‘I was 2 stone heavier at Christmas, you know?’ 😂

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 22/06/2025 20:55

yes weather has finally been like decent summer in Alsace, I'm totally fine with current 30-35. I hope we get around the same during our holidays, but going to South of France this year, so could also be an oven.

@Polkadotdash have you tried bringing up the weight loss yourself? I bet many people will mention it once they see you're happy to talk about it.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 22/06/2025 21:01

and I can't get over it how much nicer it is to be slim in this weather. People who have never been heavier really cannot appreciate it. No red raw inner thighs or upper arms. Legs just glide past each other, no sticking and rubbing. No underboob sweat despite of (or due to) my industrial strenght bra. Can wear whatever I want and not clothes for damage limitation.

And this is why we need the laughing emoji reaction back! You'll have to change your user name to Nakeddotdash! 😂

Thelittlestranger · 22/06/2025 21:07

Have to agree - much more comfortable and confident in this weather, slimmer. Bought some 501 shorts. They are short. But I love them. Black, white and blue and wore them this weekend.

I mentioned to my sister in law I'd lost weight at dinner last night - she hasn't mentioned anything. As soon as I did, she was forthcoming in saying how great I looked, and congratulating me. Not a word before. People definitely don't feel comfortable. Others are different. Had one of my team (male) pretty much fawning over my traps, and arm muscles the other day as I was WFH and wearing a vest (not something I would wear in the office, but it was so hot at home) I ended up pretty much blushing and telling him to stop.

In other news, I haven't tracked calories all week. It's felt odd, and I've been doing it in my head a little - will be interesting to see if it's made a difference.

myladyjane · 22/06/2025 21:12

My mother has been hyper aware of my weight since I was 6. She’s a lovely mum but a product of her time from a family who was very critical. She’s always (kindly) had a view in my weight. Almost 3 stone down and the fucker hasn’t said a WORD. I catch her giving me the side eye every so often and she notices that I am eating less but even she is avoiding it.

i have done some measurements today and i have lost 6 inches from my waist now. Thats an average penis! 10 from my hips (which reminds me of an adventurous holiday aged 20 ;)). Only 2 from my boobs but that’s definitely ok!

😂😂😂

mince3point14159265 · 22/06/2025 21:18

@myladyjane 🤣🤣🤣

Polkadotdash · 22/06/2025 22:44

@myladyjane loving the unit of measurement. You can get a tshirt with ‘I’ve lost a penis worth of girth’ on now. We need some official merch.

2025istheyeari · 23/06/2025 06:16

🤣🤣🤣🤣that’s made my day @myladyjane . Good idea @Polkadotdash!!! I have visions of all of us running around naked apart from that tshirt now 🤣🤣

2025istheyeari · 23/06/2025 06:43

Happy Monday everyone, definitely cooler but still a lovely day here.

Jab day yesterday and weigh day today. Edging closer towards goal, 2 pounds off the top of of my healthy BMI! I originally had that as my goal but I definitely need to lose more, so think I’ll try for another stone and see how that goes.

I told my first person other than DH I’m on MJ yesterday. We went for a long walk and drinks with friends and one messaged me afterwards saying I looked amazing and what was my secret, she was so unhappy and considering MJ. We lost a lot together on WW years ago and have both been yo-yo dieters for a long time. I told her I’m on MJ and that no ( real life!) living soul other than DH knows, she was really grateful and had loads of qs. I know she won’t say anything.

I also signed up for the great North swim next year after recently starting open water swimming. I’ve never done anything like this before so it’s massive for me ( and scary!!). It’s ‘only’ the one mile swim, but at the moment I’m doing 500m max, still a year to go and something to aim for! Redundancy kicks in a week today and my next mission is fitness, I can’t drive because of a health condition and we live in a small village with no gym etc but I’m determined, a lovely friend is taking me swimming twice a week and might join the gym which is a train ride away.

Have great weeks everyone and hopefully the cooler weather gives us all wooshes 🤞🏻

Zempy · 23/06/2025 07:09

I think I need a diagram, but on my guided tour (OK, it was the little tourist train) of Strasbourg they pointed out a pillar that is very close to a wall, like a few inches. The guide said that in the 16th century, the bourgeoisie used it as a measure of whether they were too fat. If they couldn’t slip through the gap, they needed to lay off the boars trotters.

So later, as I walked past, I suddenly decided to go for it, and of course despite it looking tiny, I slipped through easily.

So can we add a t shirt that says “I am as slim as a 16th century Alsatian” ? Not confusing at all is it?

Zempy · 23/06/2025 07:16

Here it is!

myladyjane · 23/06/2025 07:30

@Zempythat looks very small. Good work.

@2025istheyeari, 2 lbs off is amazing. As is open water swimming, one of my favourite things to do. You will smash a mile easily

MJalltheway · 23/06/2025 07:30

😂 at the penis' worth of girth and the 16th century Alsatian! We just need someone to go to China and find that restaurant which gives you a discount on food if you can fit through a gap as well. (I'm sure I'm not imagining that...)

I ate weirdly loads yesterday, had family round for lunch. Worked out the rough calories at the end of the day out of interest (I don't usually calorie count) and I reckon it was about 1700 so a bit over my calorie deficit. I felt very very over-stuffed.
Will get back on target today, thank god it's a lot cooler for work. Hoping it will be a very quiet week, half the staff usually go to Glasto

myladyjane · 23/06/2025 07:31

@Polkadotdash here for the girth merch (and the 16th century Alsatian).

Jins · 23/06/2025 07:57

i’m adopting the average penis as a unit of measurement. Obviously men won’t be able to gauge it correctly but I can live with that. I’m definitely up for the merch!

NSV on Saturday as I was at a steam fair (living the bloody dream right here folks) and tat stalls were in abundance including one of those hippy type stalls. picked up a couple of massive tops on the £1 sale rail as they are double gauze and there’s enough in them to remake into something nice. Then I spotted a dress in fabric that I loved. It looked tiny but it was £3 so I bought it, thinking I could colour block it into something else. It fits!!!!! It doesn’t flatter but it fits.

I’m not going to weigh today as quite honestly I was a pig yesterday. All healthy stuff but far too much of it rounded off with a crumble made from our first ever crop of morello cherries. I wouldn’t mind but I jabbed yesterday. I appear to have some suppression this morning.

There are still loads of cherries left on the tree so I’m going to try bottling them. If it worked for the victorians it should work for me.

MJalltheway · 23/06/2025 09:55

@Jins im so jealous! Not of the tiny dress (although 👏) but of the cherries! We have a meadow which had a couple of very old apple trees in when we moved in. Every year since I've tried to plant at least one more fruit tree. I have a lovely, lush cherry tree. Want to guess how many cherries I've had off it? 🤦🏻‍♀️
We're overrun with bloody apples but cherries and pears? Forget it.

Jins · 23/06/2025 10:42

@MJalltheway our cherry tree went in maybe 9 years ago and we’ve had approximately 10 cherries for the last two which the birds ate. This year it’s covered!
