So sorry @MisseyLurker. It took months for me to sleep soundly again after being burgled. I was so afraid they would come back, but that’s actually quite irrational and extremely unlikely.

Was the window how they accessed your property? A friend of mine left her upstairs windows open while she took the kids to the beach for the day and her insurers refused to pay out when she was burgled.

You are safe now and they won’t return.

MJalltheway · 21/06/2025 14:19

Oh no @MisseyLurker you must be gutted about the insurance! Do you think they know you then, in order to know about the watches?

myladyjane · 21/06/2025 14:52

@MisseyLurker oh that’s horrid. So sorry this happened to you.

@JoanCollinsDivathat was a lovely post

@hunkydory54 do you take collagen? I really really suffered from Achilles tendinitis all of last year. Triggered by calf raises in the gym that I did incorrectly and exacerbated by my weight I think looking back. It still niggles a bit now but way less than it did. One thing which I was recommended was collagen and it did seem to help. A few clinical studies do back up its efficacy.

hunkydory54 · 21/06/2025 15:19

@MisseyLurker it's such a horrible feeling of invasion of your safe space. I'm sorry it's happened to you.

@myladyjane funnily enough I have just started taking collagen about 3 weeks ago and I think my ankle is beginning to feel better. I started collagen as there were a few posts about it on one of these MJ January threads and I thought I'd give it a try. I'll persevere and report back soon. My Achilles issues were triggered by having my hip replacements and walking correctly after so many years and excess weight.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 21/06/2025 15:48

Insurance really tries anything to get out of paying! Did they even get in through the window?

I have messed up a bit here - went to another pharmacy and thought the pack looked different. Instead of the usual monthly pen, there are 4 single use ones. Meaning I can't click count, and no bonus dose either. Daylight robbery.
It's also higher dose than I need, so I'm thinking spacing the shots out a bit. Or maybe will keep the single use for travelling.

Zempy · 21/06/2025 16:31

@HeidiNotSoHeavy do you not have any syringes?

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 21/06/2025 16:45

I don't think it's possible to use syringe with this pen, they come with attached needles, so no place where to poke your own needle through.

MJalltheway · 21/06/2025 16:51

I expect those type might become more common to avoid people getting at the 'bonus' dose!

I was listening to a Zoe podcast about your gut microbiome and the importance of having 30 different plants each week so I've counted mine up - 32 last week 😁 surprising how they add up

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 21/06/2025 17:14

I'm good with plants but I can understand it's not the same for everybody. On some MN threads where people discuss their weekly menus, the only thing related to a vegetable is ketchup..

MisseyLurker · 21/06/2025 17:33

Thank you for all your kind words.

@Zempy well I hope they don’t return but they actually did the same evening, I just so happened to have been outside and noticed a vehicle pull in, I got nearer noticed 2 guys with masks on and then ran at the car with some choice language indicating I knew they had been in my house. They sped off pretty quickly even managing not to drive at me, they just wanted away.

They got in via an open window on the ground floor which a lad had left open. I’m on the 3rd floor but the insurance is saying that the building was not secure. They broke down my door and whilst there were neighbours immediately in the vicinity, nobody heard anything 🙄The police said it isn’t possible given the damage as I had changed the lock for something superior and they estimate it was several minutes for them to get in, not seconds so someone just being a bit inquisitive could have changed the outcome. So fingers crossed they don’t return but if they do, good luck there is nothing left for them.

@MJalltheway I think I know who might be involved and have given details to the police. Had been somewhere a couple of months ago and mentioned going away for my birthday weekend. Since then I changed my mind but very suspicious that they turn up that weekend of all weekends but nobody there knew when my birthday is. There was one person who works for a company I’m a customer of and my account has my address and DOB, either a coincidence or someone has questions to answer. Either way I will get to the bottom of it.

However I hope everyone is surviving in this heat. I can feel myself already retaining water. Better get a couple of pints of water into me 😂

Not my window, you’d need a cherry picker or be superman. They got in through a ground floor window, I’m on the 3rd. They also came dressed as Deliveroo drivers, one with a cycle helmet on and the other a Guy Martin motorbike helmet on and both got out a car. Even when they fled, someone took a note of the reg yet didn’t call the police. Honestly some people really make me wonder at times.

Are you on MJ @HeidiNotSoHeavy and what pharmacy did you go to?

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 21/06/2025 17:39

@MisseyLurker I'm in Europe, got the regular pens in Germany but apparently Switzerland has the single use ones.

That's unbelievable @MisseyLurker ! Hope they get caught. I'm guessing you must live in a city somewhere? I live rurally and all the neighbours know if anyone so much as sneezes round here. We constantly have farmers on our local Facebook pages reporting that there are suspicious cars driving around - probably just someone who is lost.

2025istheyeari · 21/06/2025 18:01

Hi everyone, wow lots of chats to catch up on!

I’m so sorry about the burglary how stressful and awful. Hope they find whoever did it and that you’re ok.

Some fab losses and NSVs,well done everyone!!

Sorry for those struggling and sticking, it’s rubbish when you’re trying so hard😟.

I’m loving this weather! So nice to be able to wear things I wouldn’t have been able to last year. We had Ds year 11 prom last night and we went out with some of the parents, I hadn’t seen some of them for over a year and 3 people came up separately telling me how amazing I looked, felt fab!!

bringing my jab day forward to tomorrow this week as I bring forward so can jab on the Friday I fly on holiday, hoping scales are kind!! Enjoy the longest day everyone.

BreezyPeer · 21/06/2025 18:09

@MisseyLurker so sorry to hear about the break in. You are brave (or angry!) for going after their car!
I just came on to record another nsv. Went shopping in Sainsbury's for my upcoming holiday, bought some size 14 trousers home. Tried them on, all good, took them off, they were on the wrong hanger . . . Size 12!!! So pleased and no one else except my MN MJ friends understands 😀 xx

MisseyLurker · 21/06/2025 22:46

@MJalltheway yes I live in the city but strangely enough after the event people tell you oh I saw this, that and the next thing. I’m nosey so usually not much gets by me. I just hadn’t been in much at the weekend when these guys had been 😣

@BreezyPeer thank you. When it’s a fight or flight situation, I choose fight always. Had I a brick to hand I’d of lobbed it through their window 😂 Great news on the trousers! Something satisfying about realising you’re fitting something smaller than you thought.

MJalltheway · 22/06/2025 08:17

I finally re-saw the weighing video I originally saw a couple of months back!

https://www.facebook.com/share/r/19Js9BAtbq/?mibextid=wwXIfr

thought it was pretty helpful

Jins · 22/06/2025 08:21

What a horrible experience @MisseyLurker. I hope your suspicions are right and you get to the bottom of things.

It’s jab day today and it can’t come quickly enough as yesterday saw me hoovering up a sensible meal followed by a stupid amount of ice cream followed by chocolate. I guess it proves that when sugar is involved I have no self control.

I’ve got my maintenance call tomorrow and I’m 3lbs above goal with 4/5 doses left in my pen so hopefully a plan will emerge.

discov · 22/06/2025 10:37

Gosh @MisseyLurker that is awful! I am sorry.

I’ve just caught up on 120+ posts as I’ve had such a busy work week. My diet is still atrocious but it’s just very poor planning and can’t be arsed shopping-ness on my part. I actually gained half a lb last week! I ended up having a very rare afternoon having a few drinks with my friend yesterday, got some chippy chips for the walk home and only ate a few then had awful stomach ache for the first time in months. Feel loads better this morning thankfully, and I’ve dropped a couple of lbs and weighed in at a new low of 9st 4. It’s probably dehydration from aperol spritz in the baking sun yesterday 😄

I wore a loose 100% cotton Zara (via Vinted) dress in the heat yesterday and realised I cope so much better now I am lighter. I wasn’t sure about the dress as I don’t usually wear loose/oversized but I had loads of compliments on it. And NO THIGH RUB!! I can’t believe it! It was roasting and I was out and about most of the day and had no chub rub at all.

I am desperate for some new clothes now. I was waiting to get down to my readjusted goal of 8st 7 but my DH said just go out and buy some bits and don’t worry if they end up too big for you in a few weeks time. I was talking to my friend yesterday and said I have never ever worn anything above the knee with bare legs, or had my upper arms out, and I think I need to get out of gravitating towards styles that were ‘flattering’ to me when I was bigger and try some different things. I am even considering getting some shorts. I don’t think I’ve worn shorts since I was a child. But sometimes I look at my legs and think they look ok, then other times I look in the mirror or in certain light and they don’t look good. So not sure I’m confident enough really to do that…

DGonMJ · 22/06/2025 10:41

Morning all!

Sorry to hear of your break-in @MisseyLurker - stressful and so invasive. We were burgled while asleep upstairs when DS1 was 9months, such a horrible experience.

@Jins good luck with your maintenance call, is it with Oushk? If so don’t forget to lookout for wisebee emails, might go into your junk folder.

@hunkydory54 also not feeling the heat as badly as last year. I would normally wake up from a hot night with stiff fingers, but seem to have avoided that this year.

@JoanCollinsDiva lovely post - I agree, we’re all trying hard to improve ourselves. Even being on this thread to find/lend support and make ourselves accountable is part of that effort.

Well done on the NSVs @BreezyPeer @2025istheyeari @mince3point14159265 and anyone else I’ve missed!

Stats:
Jab #25 • week 4 of maintenance • 4mg
SW 79.6kg • GW 62.4kg • CW 60.5kg

Stayed the same this week! I’m so pleased! Have stuck to the 4mg dose on my new pen as I’ve felt really good on it.
So much more energy this week, went my heaviest yesterday in my PT session. Ended on 2 x 70kg deadlifts, so my strength is increasing.

I’ll figure out if I’m going to stay on 4 for the whole of this pen in a couple of weeks time - and then decide whether to order another 5 or go down to 2.5mg which I’d like to do eventually. But no rush. There’s summer hols to get through and would be nice to have MJ supporting my food choices and not be worrying too much about regaining.

Polkadotdash · 22/06/2025 11:24

@MisseyLurker that all sounds so traumatic. 🙁

and @mince3point14159265 i love the wolf whistle/casual tune story!

I’m happy that the weather is a bit more bearable today. I’ve been like a beached whale lying on my sofa for three days unable to function.

also - is it wrong of me to be pissed off that no one has noticed I’ve lost 2 stone? Not one person has mentioned it. I know I still have a long way to go and my ginormous fibroids make me look 5 months pregnant but my arms and legs are so skinny!! Vanity, I know. But still.

Polkadotdash · 22/06/2025 11:25

Plus - I wish Mumsnet gave you some more reaction buttons other than the three we have. Where did laugh go? And flowers? I think that can feel like you’re posting into a void without any reactions too.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 22/06/2025 11:31

Just calculated that I have lost almost 26% of my body weight. Wow. Carrying all that around...

@Polkadotdash I think many people nowadays are very sensitive about such comments, I've had many telling me (once I have mentioned it myself) that of course they have noticed, just didn't want to say anything in case I don't want people commenting. And friends are saying that other people ask them about my weight loss. I'm sure they noticed!

TomorrowPenny · 22/06/2025 14:31

It has cooled down a bit hasn't it. That kilo has miraculously shifted overnight. Back to 89.6kg although can't say I feel like celebrating. 😑

MJalltheway · 22/06/2025 16:54

Agree, much happier now it's cooler! No one has mentioned it to me either @Polkadotdash (apart from people I've specifically told I'm losing weight) and I'm 1lb off a 3 stone loss now. I know I look very different though so I think it's just awkwardness/politeness. To be fair, there's two or three women at work who have lost a lot of weight over the last couple of years and I've not mentioned it to them either!
