Ok, I had the first jab yesterday. Very nervous. What can I expect in these first few days/ weeks? Anyone on here a bit ahead of me, please?

I’m a week ahead of you - second jab this evening. It’s been fine so far. Definitely much less interested in food and eating significantly less than before.
Have been trying to eat very sensibly - lots of protein - and drink lots of water.
I had a business lunch yesterday with one glass of wine. Had bad stomach cramps afterwards so going to have to be more careful at work/social events as much possible. Good luck.

There is a June starters group. I am sure you will find them very helpful and supportive.
When I started, I also read through the whole thread for the month before I started. I got so much advice and information there as well.

Hi all, started last Sunday 1st. Weighed in today at 13st 13lbs. Start weight was 14st 5lbs. Have had a good week with suppression and no snacking, kept water intake as high as I could, no side effects so I'm hoping that continues. Due to jab again tomorrow. I really hope I have a good week next week too. Well done to everyone so far. I feel setting myself small goals at first, rather than saying my target weight is 10 stone (even though it is) I'm setting my sights on 12st for now. Wow this feels like there's a long road ahead and I have to keep myself focused, its like I just want it now. It's nice to have a place to share xx

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 07/06/2025 15:05

I started yesterday. My starting weight was 116kg which is just over 18st.

I'm a bit shocked as I expected to feel awful based on people's experiences here and a friend who has been on it since Feb. But actually I feel ok. I am a bit light headed. But i have insulin resistance so I think I need to force myself to est a bit more than I did this morning and having walked the dog I think I am a bit dehydrated.

I have no hunger though, no cravings, normally if get home and binge on snacks. But haven't been interested enough to bother.

I have done my food shop and have stocked up on high protein yoghurt and some almonds in case I fancy a snack so they are at least a bit better than chocolate!

hope1000 · 08/06/2025 13:20

week 1, day 2
took jab last night and felt sleepy within the hr. Woke up late this morning and feel so cold and nauseated. Just about managed a poached egg and a bite of toast but feel green! Been sleeping on and off on sofa wrapped in blanket most of morning. The thought of food is so nauseating at the moment. Can’t even manage a coffee. Hoping I’ll feel better later.

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 08/06/2025 16:17

Day 3, still no massive ill effects. Am tired and sleeping more which is a novelty as have suffered insomnia for years.

We went out for an event last night, had a dinner but didn't really have much appetite for it.

Am definitely having to force myself to eat which does leave me a little nauseous but otherwise so far so good.

Hope you feel better soon @hope1000

hope1000 · 08/06/2025 19:36

Thankyou @Ihatelittlefriendsusan
been in bed today, really hoping it subsides as I have work tomorrow and can’t be feeling sick like this. I have literally only managed 1 poached egg, I bite of toast, 2 strawberries and 2 lentil crisps and water all day!

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 08/06/2025 23:19

I think you will probably fond you are dehydrated and you do need to force yourself to eat more protein or your sugar levels will tank.

Maybe try some high protein yoghurt?

bluebellinthewood · 09/06/2025 10:25

I'm on injection 2 and so far minimal symptoms. Hope this continues

hope1000 · 09/06/2025 10:41

W1 Day 3
Feel much better than yesterday, couldn’t make it to work though as I still felt very delicate but so much better than yesterday. Anyone had huel protein drinks before? Heard that they are good if you can’t stomach food.

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 09/06/2025 17:01

I'm dairy allergic so the huel drinks are not good for me. I'm going breaking myself in gently with small regular snacks rather than trying to eat a meal.

I had some fruit and soya yoghurt for brekkie, half a demi baguette with a slice of ham for lunch and I've just had a handful of almonds and dried fruits. Dd has tennis coaching so need to get her to that and will eat about 730 when we get home. I have some premade risotto which I will nuke.

@hope1000 you need to try and force yourself to eat somethingor you will make yourself poorly. The goal isn't to starve yourself thin! Weight watchers do a glp1 plan, maybe have a look at that for some ideas.

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 09/06/2025 18:35

Interestingly I've just googled the huel drinks and they now do them began so I may grab a couple to try

hope1000 · 09/06/2025 18:54

@Ihatelittlefriendsusan hi, yes was going to say I think they are dairy free. My son drinks them.
im sure my appetite will come back, it’s just that I had a bad side effect to starting the jab the nausea has made me feel sick thinking about food. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be in full swing of life and ready to tackle 3 nutritional meals.

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 09/06/2025 20:27

Fingers crossed! I had HG when inwas pregnant, i literally threw up 24/7 for almost the entire 9 months. The nausea was my biggest fear! It was a friend who has been on it about 15 months who said not to starve myself as it makes the sickness worse.

Rooting foe it to pass for you!

hope1000 · 10/06/2025 10:47

w1, day 4
feel much better today, still struggling to eat much, have no appetite at all. Felt peckish earlier so cooked up some eggs and toast and really struggled to force myself to eat it. Forced the eggs down and a few bites of toast that’s about it. Last night I tested myself as I had a bag of maltesa’s in fridge. Had two of them and put them back as they tasted like two square sugar cubes. Usually I would have sucked the hell out of them over course of 10 mins and packet would be empty. Refused a glass of wine (unheard of) 😂 and dismissed my bedtime cuppa with a biscuit.

when is everyone weighing themselves? Weekly?

reversegear · 10/06/2025 13:24

Arhhh amazing was just hunting for June… I’ve just been approved and it on its way.

reversegear · 10/06/2025 13:27

Does everyone go straight in with the 2.5 dose? I’ve been reading up on micro-dosing to start? Although that maybe expensive.

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 10/06/2025 13:35

@hope1000 yeah weekly ish. I'm not expecting to have lost much in w1 though

MumOnAMission55 · 15/06/2025 20:55

Hi all, I've been lurking for a week but plucked up courage to get involved on the forums
Just done my second injection, first was fine, big supression first few days that tapered off, very thirsty, constipation but no major side effects. I bruised a lot in the injection site, I injected in my stomach as I found that easier, can I ask how people find injecting in their thigh, I don't know why but I've got a big sticking point with injecting my thighs it's much firmer than my belly!

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 15/06/2025 21:05

Hey @mumonamission55 I had a massive bruise on my stomach after my first injection. I did my second on Friday and went into my thigh. No different pain wise etc as doing my stomach but far less bruising.

Like you I have had no real side effects other than being a bit more tired than normal. I am perimenopausal so have had issues with hair falling out for years but it does seem to be a bit worse the last 10 days.

Is anyone taking collagen powder?

MumOnAMission55 · 15/06/2025 21:34

Yes @Ihatelittlefriendsusan I'm taking it as I don't want to lose hair, I've got powder and gummies, no idea if they are any good though!

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 15/06/2025 22:11

I may have to investigate it some more. My hair comes.out in fist fulls without the jabs but if it gets worse I may wind up bald 🤣

MumOnAMission55 · 15/06/2025 23:06

Oh no!
I also have some tablets with biotin and zinc (I think) which is also good for hair
Vitamins seem to have been my midlife crisis, fingers crossed it helps!

Hi 👋

new here. I am currently waiting for Asda to approve mounjaro. I’m feeling nervous I’m just classed as menopausal. 1 year… in the last year I have put on 2 stone.. I have tried everything, and the weight doesn’t come off.. I’m very active, I virtually starve myself. I’ve tried 16:8, nutriseed etc and basically 1kg loss.. I’m soo depressed. I feel flabby and horrible. The main issue is my bmi. I’m tall 5ft 10. Currently weigh 86 kg, bmi says 27.3. But I’m small boned so ideal weight is about 73kg.. my fat levels are 34% so I’m obese, but everything thing is classed on BMI.. I actually picked up a 5kg dumbbell when I took my scales photo and I hope the fat piccies work. Anyone else in the same situation? I’m trying to improve my health and weight. Thanks ☺️
