I guess it depends how fat you are and how desperately you've tried to lose weight before. I've never lost massive amounts probably a handful of 4 or 5lb weeks the majority have been 1, 2 or 3lb at the moment I'm averaging 1.99lb/week. There is more risk of loose skin the faster you lose weight. My dad had a gastric bypass and lost 19st in 15 months he really struggled with his skin.

If you told me 39 weeks ago that I could pay you £1100 to lose 5st I'd have done it.

You inspired me to add costs to the many stats in my mounjaro weight loss spreadsheet!
I'm £1044 and 4 stone and a pound down. Averaging £31.64/ week (ignoring that I'm on week one of my current pen) and £18.32/ pound.
As you say, if someone had said to me in November give me a grand and you can be 4 stone down/ have lost 20% of your body weight by June I'd have bitten their hand off. And then binge eaten it!

Billybingbong · 24/06/2025 20:31

Ok, if you say so. One of us is lying, and it certainly isnt me....

Anyway, moving on. How's everyone's week going? Any nsv's to brighten up the chat?

I’m doing this. I had so many snacks at the weekend from train station on way back from my partners and marks and Spencer food hall is not cheap.

PloopDeck · 24/06/2025 20:33

Here’s a light hearted one… I actually met my protein goal today! 😂 Thanks to (mainly) a chicken stirfry with protein noodles. I’d normally scoff the whole thing but I stopped when I felt full (what a novel feeling!) and I have lots left for tomorrow 🙌🏼

PinkArt · 24/06/2025 20:34

lilacbreeze · 24/06/2025 20:25

I have not been on this thread before. I just thought asking why I stopped before a year ago was quite nosy and rude. In my case it was a death but it could be for any personal reason. It’s not the done thing to ask. I am back on the thread because I last used over a year ago; the weight went back on and I now have 10.5 stone to lose again before I reach nine stone.

But you said that you had on your 15+ to lose thread? You said you'd been here under another name and that the OP had been mean to you.
If you're sure you aren't Zaicandy though, you should talk to her. You've both mentioned remarkably similar medical issues so could be a support to each other.
I would recommend getting your starting weight fixed though. It's been rather different every time you post on different threads.

Can you send me the thread as I think you’re getting me mixed up with another user.

lilacbreeze · 24/06/2025 20:36

Genuinely 😭

Quitepossibly · 24/06/2025 20:37

I've lost 11lb since I started on 22nd June (steady loss of just over 2lb/wk) and my jeans now feel big and are starting to slide down. Soooo far to go, but a positive start.

It was deleted either late last night or this morning for breaking MN talk guidelines. I'm surprised you didn't notice, or that MN don't notify posters who have a deleted thread.

Well done! That's such a good feeling.

I think one of my favourite NSVs is being able to wear ordinary jeans, with a zip. I was so used to wearing leggings and jeggings and now I can get into size 14 jeans.

Very convenient. If it ever existed

do you mean June last year? Or may?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/06/2025 20:44

I'm not going to carry on responding to anyone who seems to be a bad-faith actor.
I think that's the best way to deal with these interruptions.

SilenceInside · 24/06/2025 20:44

Yes I am also back into proper jeans with a zip, size 16s for me at the moment. I haven’t worn jeans for such a long time!

Billybingbong · 24/06/2025 20:46

@pinkart you're wasting your breath. But fwiw, quite a few of us saw and commented on that thread too before it was removed, so lilacbreeze can deny it all she likes

I'll not engage with their silly & childish nonsense again. Its not what we're here for

It's this thread. Your thread. Where you were quite rude about this thread, that you mentioned having been on under a different name.
People are protective over this group and the people in it. We all know we are in this for the long haul and that we have faced and will face specific challenges that those with less to lose probably won't. So when someone starts posting negatively and keeps changing their own starting weight or starting date I imagine you can understand why that would get quite a defensive response.

This was the thread that was deleted last night.

Although I don’t have 10st to lose, I have lost over 7 (bit more to go) and have always read your threads. Full of great information and a lovely sense of community. I have learned a lot from you all so thank you.

NSV for the list. Having more breath these days! I love walking back from the tube and it not feeling like it's an endurance mission.

Brilliant, it makes all the difference when we can just walk, like a 'normal' person, without feeling like we've just climbed Everest 🥰

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 24/06/2025 20:58

I love hearing these nsv. I can't wait to be able to wear jeans again!

I'm having a really low day today for a number of reasons. I wonder if I'm eating enough of the right things and I'm sleeping badly too since being on MJ but I've also wondered what's that and what's peri. It all sort of merges. I was doing okay when not stressed but it feels. Like the slightest thing and I'm awake several times a night.

PearlsPearl · 24/06/2025 21:04

I have no idea what's going on but just want it to go back to how it was. Hardly a cult, this is a lovely corner of MN that I'm very glad I have joined

Potato1234 · 24/06/2025 21:06

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden i am the same, I’ve never slept well but since starting MJ it’s been terrible, so restless and waking up constantly. However I feel restless in general now, I can’t even concentrate on a short tv show. I’m only 6 months postpartum so could be that too.

@lilacbreeze i saw your thread yesterday, I read it and remember your name. I was confused with the hate re this thread hence why I’ve remembered it.

Im not sure if you and @zaicandy are the same because I don’t think you can change your username for the same thread. You both said you are starting tomorrow and have asked about nausea, so it seems a coincidence. Either way, maybe just think before you type because if you mean it or not, some of your comments are coming off badly and this is such a supportive thread and I don’t think I’ve read one negative comment the whole time I’ve been following!
