NSV for the list. Having more breath these days! I love walking back from the tube and it not feeling like it's an endurance mission.

Yes, same here.
It's wonderful not to have to stop for breath all the time.

We're away next week, and the area is known for its stunning walks. I'll be dusting off my walking boots and testing out my lung capacity out on them there hills.

Hi all....determined to ignore any negativity that's suddenly appeared on this fantastic thread...I'm having a tough week on mj - I'm on my third ( I think!) 7.5mg pen, still losing consistently but food noise is reappearing which is alarming! I've had a bag of wine gums in my desk drawer for weeks and weeks and didn't think about them at all then about a week ago I had an afternoon at work where I just couldn't concentrate on anything but them, kept having a handful then giving myself a talking to and putting them away, only to get them out again a few minutes later! And it's continued - I'm off work at home today and have been so distracted by the food I know is in the kitchen cupboards. I was hoping to stay on 7.5 for a while longer (and already have my next pen waiting for me, I ordered early as I was spooked by people talking about delays with my provider) so have 6 more weeks on this dose at least. Has anyone experienced food noise returning and going away without increasing their dose? I am determined not to derail my efforts but know how hard I find it to fight these urges (obviously, hence me being here).

Keep those NSVs (and SVs!) coming guys, they're lovely to hear and so motivating! A recent one from me - I can just about cram into our metal garden chairs now. Not comfortably but even just a couple of months ago I couldn't even force myself in! Looking forward to sitting comfortably in them!

Hi @UsernameShmusername2024

You could always inject 10mg from your 7.5mg pen.

That would be 0.8ml of MJ.

do you mean June last year? Or may?

Edited

I meant 22nd May. This year.

Thanks - I'd thought about that. I'm reluctant to use a separate syringe but think I could do more clicks and have the pen last 3 weeks instead of 4. That would work better for a holiday coming up in August too - as it is I'll be only onto week 2 of 10mg when we go away and I'd be a bit worried about side effects from a new higher dose so going up earlier would be better 😀

You'll get four doses out easily if you use syringes. Don't forget about the bonus dose MJ in the pen.

I flit between several WLI threads because I find them all really helpful and supportive. This one is particularly friendly and thoughtful. I'm really a May starter so I try to keep my contributions only on that one.

But I just wanted to post on here to say how fantastic and inspirational you all are. Keep on keeping on!

Very convenient. If it ever existed

It did exist, I commented on it this morning as you had told people that this 10 stone + thread had nasty people so you wanted to create another for people to join, you said the OP sent you abusive messages and you had reported them to mumsnet. I only commented as I didn’t want people to be put off from joining this thread. I even asked you if you had read the comments on here as it is so friendly, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t. I don’t understand what you are trying to achieve?

@lilacbreeze I know you felt attacked in this group under another name, but this is an unnecessarily negative post about another user's loss. I'm also averaging around a pound a week at the moment and I'm thrilled with that steady, sustained loss.
Everyone in this group knows that their journey isn't going to be a short one but also that every pound, kg, half an ounce is a step in the right direction.

Me too, it's very judgy and unkind

I didn't send her any PMs at all, so she's lying about that.

I did report a couple of posts, much earlier in the thread, which were personal attacks on me, and they were deleted.

I think we all saw it and commented on it.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 24/06/2025 22:23

@UsernameShmusername2024 I've had occasional days come together like that, even on the 15mg dose, it’s quite frightening and makes you panic and think ‘it’s not working’. It does pass thankfully but it does make me worry about not taking MJ as everything is so peaceful whilst on it.
My habits have definitely changed though, I’m reaching for a banana and a large drink rather than the biscuits, then I’m stuffed so the thought of the biscuits makes me feel queasy. Maybe try and fill up on the low calorie stuff and fluids, feeling full quickly reassures me that it’s still doing its job

Fffreeeeezing · 24/06/2025 22:28

Another day, another meeting sat in a narrow wooden chair with arms that have given me bruises on my thighs (and gave me pins and needles in my feet as a bonus gift!)
THATS what I’m looking forward to, the ability to sit comfortably in all chairs. I swear today’s chair was making creaking noises as well so was also waiting for it to collapse at any second.

On a different note, anyone any advice for a constipation issue (literally my only side effect)? The issue isn’t that I’m not going, it’s the problem that it agony when I do and has started making me bleed. I take psyllium capsules every day, plus magnesium complex (inc. citrate), a pro biotic and add chia seeds and inulin to my breakfast. I drink 4 to 5 litres of fluids a day minimum, I’m really not sure what else I can do!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 24/06/2025 22:29

We all know how supportive we are of each other and maybe a little protective as well (as this latest episode has shown). But we are also so welcoming to anyone new as we get the struggle, it’s so freeing sometimes to be able to voice our fears.

goodnight you lovely lot, new day tomorrow x

You need to try a stool softener. Dulcoease works for me.
Don’t confuse it with the laxative version though as there are two types.

Movicol and occasional glycerin suppositories have been the only thing that has worked for me, took me about 5 months of experimenting with various suggestions - I feel your pain. Without these my 💩 is rock hard, like a stuck brick (sorry!)
Too much fibre can cause issues, the glycerin helps to break up ‘the brick’.
if you’d have told me this time last year I’d be having these conversations I’d be mortified 🤣

Has anyone who’s further along experienced loose skin? And has it had any impact on your life. I couldn’t care less about what my stomach looks like after stretch marks, c-section and 5 surgeries but I would be a bit self conscious if my arms had obvious loose skin. I’ve never, ever had my arms out so that’s one thing I really can’t wait to do once I feel confident enough. I’m short so have short limbs and my arms have always been really big. Will loose skin be inevitable after such a big loss? (half my body weight!).

My sisters friend lost a lot quickly (9 stone in a year, went from 19 stone to 9) and was left with loose skin round his abdomen and upper arms. The abdomen stuff she had removed as it was causing yeast infections. He had to get it done privately

GnomeDePlume · 24/06/2025 22:59

I think there are different stages with loose skin. I have lost 4 stone and I'm aware that my stomach is hanging a lot more but as I still have a lot of weight to lose I guess it is quite heavy.

As I lose more weight I expect that skin will get less heavy.

One NSV though is that I am getting far fewer skin infections despite the loose skin. Some of this is probably because my diabetes is far more controlled.

Just thought of another NSV: all the different meals I am enjoying now I am focused on taste rather than quantity.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/06/2025 23:01

@Potato1234 I've had some loose skin, but it's gradually become less noticeable.
I know what you mean about arms but I'm just about at the point where I'm going to let the world see mine.

OP posts:
Doggymummar · 25/06/2025 06:44

Regarding loose skin. My arms are fine and so is my stomach, not had children so it hadn't had to deal with that stretching before. I never had stretch marks as my weight on very gradually. Standing up I look fine and have been wearing shirts when the weather was nice for a couple of days. If I look down on myself, in the shower or changing my tampon then my thighs are wrinkled but noone else sees me from than angle. At 55 I'm not sure how much it will recover but I'm not concerned about it.

I think if I were to start a new relationship it would have to be lights off naked!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/06/2025 06:44

SilenceInside · 24/06/2025 16:20

@lilacbreeze it's a long term process, and the 1 pound losses all add up. I've lost nearly 9 stone in almost a year, some weeks I've stayed the same, some I've gained a pound or two, some I've lost half a pound. The important thing is the overall downwards trend.

That’s amazing

52 lbs so 52w is just under 4stone so a lb a week

to do almost 9s so 126lbs in 52w is an average of 2.4lbs a week

SilenceInside · 25/06/2025 06:52

@Blondeshavemorefun I had some high losses early on, which levelled out after about 5 months and for the last 7 months or so my biggest weekly loss has been the very occasional 3 pounds. These days it's a consistent 1 or 2 pounds a week.

eibbed999 · 25/06/2025 07:44

I am in the same position @UsernameShmusername2024 - wondering whether to go up because I keep thinking about food again! I'd actually forgotten how intrusive it can be. I'm still losing really well and so far haven't succumbed, but I'm considering going up. Jab day today, and I've been using 2.5 from a 4mg pen by counting clicks. I think I'll go to 3.75 and see if that helps! Good luck with fighting off the evil lure of the wine gums etc...
