@eibbed999 Oh yes that's it exactly! After all this time and all this progress to "still" be at "beast" level feels hard. But yes we are all making SO much progress. It just isn't as outwardly visible as those with so much less to lose where the change is dramatic within a few stone.

I do now think there really was nothing else that would have "saved" me. I was going to go on the waiting list for the operation but no wonder i was so depressed. I knew i couldnt save myself and each year id try something else or the Dr would suggest something I "knew" wouldn't work long term or I'd lose a stone and yet the futility of it all. We are now on something that will actually work, and is working!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/06/2025 15:42

I've definitely lost fat from my back and shoulders.

I just want my nice slim legs back!

I believe that my tummy is a lost cause though.

I had a physio appointment yesterday and it’s looking like I have damaged/torn the cartilage in my knee (oddly, entirely un-weight related although that is probably not helping now with the pain) so I’ll be referred for an MRI. Now my mind is in overdrive wondering will I fit in the MRI machine and at what weight they will consider doing surgery on the NHS, will they be as picky if I go private 🤯 argghhhh
I presume ‘normal’ people don’t have such anxieties about medical stuff (other than legitimate worries such as pain and waiting lists) 😔

mamabeeboo · 14/06/2025 19:17

Finally reached the dose that works for me. After going up the doses. 10mg for 7 weeks so far.
4 lbs down this week! ❤️

PearlsPearl · 15/06/2025 07:39

I’m so so upset 😪 just weighed and I've gained 2lb. I have no idea how that could be possible- I've not eaten more than 1100 calories a day (I track every single thing) and I pretty much ate the same as the previous two weeks that I lost 6lb in each week.

How, why? It's really knocked me

GnomeDePlume · 15/06/2025 07:53

@PearlsPearl 6lbs two weeks in a row is good going, maybe too good? Over 3 weeks you have lost 10lbs.

Our bodies aren't machines. There could be a number of things going on. Levels of hydration, how much food you have inside you.

PearlsPearl · 15/06/2025 08:14

I know it was probably all water weight but I genuinely don't understand how I could possibly have gained weight. I'm eating at least half of what I used to, drinking more than I ever have (I hate water). It feels literally impossible yet here I am. It's really upset me.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 15/06/2025 09:30

@PearlsPearl Pearl do you mean 12lbs all together or 6pounds all together?

Either way weight loss really isn't linear (it goes up and down). I googled this a bit near the start of my journey as I got invested each week in the number but now I'm further in I can honestly say that the downward trend is far more inportanf than any one week.

If over 3 weeks you've lost 6lb that's fantastic! 1-2lb a week is recommended and you've hit that!
If it's 12lb then that is huge! And no wonder your body is saying "hold on a minute" before it releases any more.

Either way for 3 weeks in you're doing great.

Our bodies fluctuate in weight daily, after a drink, after a poo, day after eating something salty. It holds water or inflammation often the week before a period, sometimes after starting exercise or doing strenuous exercise, again after eating something salty. It's not a straightforward Do A get B.

I found it helped me to look at some graphs early on so I'll share mine - you'll see the lovely downward line! But if you go in close there's lots of times I thought I was "stalling" or staying the same or it wasn't working and then it goes down.
Or weeks it went down during the week.... Then back up when I weighed in!

Every one has a different graph - I didn't lose lots in one go at the start but many who do the even out or have a slight gain. All the bumps are part of it it's the long term trend that's important. Don't be discouraged.i

If you google "non linear weight loss" and click on images there's some great memes and things that demonstrate this.

And about a billion short videos if that works for you - there's one where he has a bowl of water and some butter and shows the difference between changes inn"weight" which can be water and fat loss.. But I can't remember which one it was!!!

Keep at it. You're going great x

Motnight · 15/06/2025 09:53

@PearlsPearl don't panic as others have said! This is one of the reasons I weigh every day. I can gain or lose 3 lbs overnight 🤣

TragicMuse · 15/06/2025 10:25

Same for me in the non-linear thing. It’s upsetting at first, but it’s a thing.

One thing I’d say: remember that MJ isn’t losing the weight for you - it’s not a magic fat-dissolving drug (although some people think it is). It’s supporting you in your own choices, and making them easier to make and stick to. And all the times you have tried before to lost weight this exact same thing will have happened.

MJ doesn’t change the journey, it changes your ability to choose how to get there.

Back then you might have thought ‘fuck it, diet’s ruined now’ and dived headfirst into your own weak spot )cheese for me!). Or you might have given up altogether. That’s not where you are now. Your physical body and brain are still being supported by the MJ, so it’s safe to let it do its job and keep on with your good choices.

You’re doing great and we’ve got you.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 15/06/2025 11:13

oh @PearlsPearl i echo everything that the previous posters have said, I can gain 2lbs overnight, it’s usually because of two reasons, I haven’t drunk my usual 2-3 litres of water) always happens over a weekend or I’m constipated. There’s no way that 2lbs is extra ‘fat weight’ as you’d had to have eaten over 7,000 calories and you know you haven’t done that. Hugs x

Iwouldratherbesinging · 15/06/2025 11:17

eibbed999 · 14/06/2025 15:02

I bought some gorgeous linen trousers from Next, and they did fit me - but my belly is so big it looked like someone had stuffed a cannonball down my pants! Or, as the trousers kind of cut it in half, like two cannonballs! I'd love to wear trousers but they simply don't suit my physique right now. We'll get there!

I liken this to a camel toe that goes all the way to my belly button 🫣 not a good look. I don’t think I’ll ever achieve a flat stomach 😆

SeaStoat · 15/06/2025 11:34

I've had 4 weeks when I've been up @PearlsPearl and one week where I STS - for no apparent reason as I'm pretty consistent with my food. I'm nearly 40lbs down since late January.

Month 1: 6+3.8+ up 0.9 = 8.9lbs down
Month 3: up 3 up 1 - down 6.4+3.8 = 6.2lbs down
Month 4: 4.4 up1.6 down 2.4+STS = 5.2lbs down

I was disappointed not to shed more in my first month. But I was already eating pretty low carb. So I just keep putting one foot in front of the other and trusting the process. I daily weigh and can several lbs up and down daily.

Overall I'm averaging 1.9lbs a week down, which is 98.8lbs in a year - if I can sustain that rate. If not, I'm guessing I will still weigh another 30 or more pounds less by December, and have a better chance of skin retraction if I'm slower.

Mounjaro is such a revelation - that I can feel this way - not compelled by food. I am feeling pretty grateful, and wish I'd started sooner.

OliviaFlaversham · 15/06/2025 14:32

Start: 2/11/25 23 stone BMI 50.4
Now: 15/6/25 15 stone 3.5 pounds BMI 33.5
Dosage: 15mg

Didn’t stick to eating well over Christmas or Easter and it showed. Tried two months on 10mg but the second month was not as successful and was so hungry!
No bum - empty sacks in its place. Very odd as it seemed to suddenly disappear and I’ve always had an enormous one!
Just under 3 stone 13 to target.

Have noticed a huge difference if I don’t drink a lot of water. And it needs for me to be a lot!

Yes that's exactly what it's like! I will never have a flat belly either - three kids, plus massive weight gain and super-obesity, plus the yo-yo ing for decades...not gonna happen! But I'd settle for not having the cannonballs!

PearlsPearl · 15/06/2025 16:34

Thank you SO MUCH to all of the posters above who responded to me. I genuinely felt so sad this morning, I feel like I barely ate for the last week and all good things so seeing the gain was a proper shock.

I decided to give myself a good kick up the bum and took myself for a swim. It was the right thing to do, getting out, scrubbing my hair and body in the gym afterwards with the extra nice products I only use there, being dressed and just more with it than I would have been if I'd slunk in my pjs and not left the couch.

Onwards and downwards! Going to try and move this week as I don't exercise at all except aqua classes, and try very very hard to drink. At the moment I have to force myself to drink 1l of protein water a day. Because previously I lived on coffee and fizzy drinks, but the mj has put me right off the fizzypop for some reason?! I'm not complaining, I've wanted to give it up for ages. So moving, drinking, not focusing on the gain.

Thanks again.

PearlsPearl · 15/06/2025 16:35

Oh, and I've decided to switch to monthly weigh ins. I took my first one on 25th May so I'm just going to go with that date each month. As I think the weekly ones will just stress me out.

I'm the same ,I rarely weigh myself

BagQueenBee · 15/06/2025 17:54

Weekly update… end week 29, still on 5mg, lost 3lb this week so pleased with that.

Total loss now is 65lb I just can’t believe that… so I am just 5lb away from 5st.

I still have an awful lot to lose, but it’s great sharing this with all of you who understand.

Have a great week everyone x

SeaStoat · 15/06/2025 19:22

Pleased to report I have taken action!

I joined the local outdoor swimming pool today - and will go swimming tomorrow for the first time. There's an indoor pool too, so if I can sustain it, I can swim throughout the winter. It's 5 miles away at one of the caravan parks. They have lane swimming for a hour in the mornings - so I'm hoping I won't slow down the slow lane........

I have joined a local hotel leisure club, it’s only a small pool and most times it’s only myself and husband in…we go twice a week.
Ive always been scared of water but now I love it and have learned to swim, I really think it and the short walks we do has helped my weight loss and fitness.

I am sure you will love it, not sure I could handle outdoors though…I’m always nesh now…enjoy.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 15/06/2025 19:42

DD and I go swimming every week.
It makes us feel so virtuous.
Apart from that, we really enjoy it.

I am apparently replacing my food addiction with a shopping addiction; and have ended up with a treadmill... I love walking but it's been hard to get out to do it between work, animals, work being done on the house and the weather. This one has a little laptop tray so theoretically I can walk and work. Hoping the money I've spent will make me use the damn thing!

I'd love to join you all in the swimming but still at a stage where I couldn't bear being in public in a swimsuit!

Bulldogsummer · 15/06/2025 20:23

I swim 5 days a week.love the feeling of being so light in the water ,it's a good exercise without stressing the joints
