Fair enough @Febnewbie- that's of course your choice. It's weird because I do agree it's nobody else's business and I'll defend to the death someone's right to keep their information personal, but equally I would want to know what medications my DP is on just incase he was ever unable to advocate for himself and I gave doctors information/didn't know information that could put him in danger with further treatment.

Febnewbie · 27/07/2025 14:11

@sweetpickle2 does this ever really come up in practice? My DH isn't on any medications but when my son has been admitted, they just look up his NHS record, they don't rely on me remembering medication names.

Probably not, maybe I've just watched too much ER!

When my mum had a stroke the paramedics had to administer a tPA immediately, and due to how time sensitive it was nobody looked up her medical records before doing so- although I suppose in that situation the risk of interference with other meds is a lower risk than not administrating the tPA.

It probably is vanishingly unlikely, but in my relationship we both worry about it so happy for the other to know that information. If your relationship isn't like that then that's fair enough!

I think to be honest in that kind of situation, we wouldn't trust each other to remember the right thing.

Last time my DS was admitted, they asked me about allergies and I couldn't remember which type of antibiotics he was allergic to because I was in a panic. They told me not to worry, looked it up and sorted it!

sweetpickle2 · 27/07/2025 14:27

It's definitely a personal choice, and like I say I'll defend to the death anyone's right to keep it private. I was just trying to reassure PP that even though I can see why her DH is upset because I would be if it was my DP (because that's the norm in our relationship to share medication info) that it wouldn't cause me to end the relationship, so hopefully her DH will ultimately feel the same.

usedtobeaylis · 27/07/2025 14:49

Quick NSV - I fit into two pairs of my size 14 jeans comfortably now. I also got my daughter to snap a quick picture and I look ok - the main thing I noticed is how much slimmer my hands are.

But also - despite the hair loss, what is still there looks really shiny and healthy today. I wonder if that's the collagen.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be argumentative - more just thinking aloud about whether the medication knowledge actually matters

sweetpickle2 · 27/07/2025 16:06

Oh no you're fine, I wasn't either! @Febnewbie

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 27/07/2025 16:42

@MJSpideySenses Thank you. Pleased to say I have other trousers too. 🙂

Yes DH is difficult. That I'm a conflict avoider doesn't help matters for my health so that's what I'm going to focus on and let things fall where they do, so to speak.

@ThatJoyousHazelDuck welcome back , coincidentally i was wondering what might have happened to anyone who had stopped mj earlier in the thread.
I'm considering taking a break and getting some blood tests done. This last week (1st of 10mg) has been rough. I constantly feel sick, full, no appetite at all, even for drinks and just unwell in general. Looking at recent photos i definitely look thinner now but not necessarily healthier, my skin seems to have lost any glow it had.
How long can you take a break before having to go back to 2.5 to start does anyone know?

MynameisJune · 27/07/2025 17:57

Hi all,

Haven’t been around for a while, went on holiday then was super busy and the kids finished school so it’s been hectic.

Have caught up the last 5 pages, I’m sorry to those that have been struggling recently. My weight loss has slowed a lot too and it’s taken me what feels like forever to get from 170lb to 160lb and then I’ve apparently put 2lb back on 🙄

As someone said further up the thread, I’m consoling myself with the fact that had I not started MJ I’d be even bigger now than I was. It’s still changed my life and made this summer so much better and brighter. I’m less afraid of taking up space and acting silly with the kids in public. And the more they see me do it, the more confident they are at being kids.

A word of warning from me, and wondering if anyone else has had the same. I ordered from DR FRANKs as it was cheap, they took nearly 2 weeks to deliver, and then it came at room temp. Which I know is ok to use within 30 days. But I’m ringing the manufacturer tomorrow to see if I can get a check on the batch number as I don’t know if the meds are real or fake. I noticed that the box was a slightly different colur green than the one I got from Numan. So either way Dr Franks is not worth it. The pen also came without any anti-bacterial wipes and they didn’t ask whether I had a sharps bin or not.

😊
It was interesting coming off it, the side effects disappeared overnight (heartburn and constipation) but my appetite also returned immediately. Hence the weight gain.
I've gone back to 2.5, I dont know when you have to back, to be honest I had similar losses at all doses so I wasn't worried.
I ordered 1 x 2.5, 1 x 5 and 1 x 7.5 in one go some im just on it now for 3 months.
I hope you feel better soon!

Marchintospring · 27/07/2025 19:46

I’m back to craving food but it’s nice being thinner so definitely trying to be more mindful.

Tempted to go back on 5ml ( l think it works well enough) but part of me knows I really just have to eat less. No snacks.

MissionToSize10 · 28/07/2025 08:10

-2st 3lbs!

on the 15 stone weight now. Hoping to see 14 something on the scale this week! 🙏

anyone else weigh daily?

SpiralSister · 28/07/2025 08:33

I do, @MissionToSize10. it’s interesting to see how much it fluctuates naturally. I seem to dip down mid week and then rise up again in time for my weekly weigh in. But then the following week I usually weigh in at last weeks’s lowest weight, if that makes any sense!

SpiralSister · 28/07/2025 08:33

I might add that until I started MJ, I didn’t own any scales, and hadn’t weighed myself in years. Complete denial.

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 28/07/2025 09:43

Thank you so much again for all your kind words and support. Things have definitely settled now. In a bizarre way I think the length of the time I've been on has made it better. He's seen I've been okay on it, what I've been eating and I've now started the gym. But i completely understand why he feels/felt hurt.

On another note, I'm officially 4 stone down today since Christmas. 3 stone on mj. I honestly cannot get my head around it!

I've recently started at the gym but due to school holidays I'm not going to be able to get as often. So me and the kids are going to attempt couch to 5k as a summer project 🤣 I'll let you know how we get on.

@MissionToSize10 I'm also a daily weigher 😊

sweetpickle2 · 28/07/2025 10:36

Jab/weigh day for me, down 1kg! I take back what I said about 10mg regret 😂

SW 107.8kg
CW 84kg

Just over 23kg down, that's the same as an Emperor Penguin!

Have good weeks all

So interesting, I weigh daily and it's very similar. My weekly weight chart looks like a backwards square root symbol 😄

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 28/07/2025 10:49

I'm also a daily weigher.

HoratioBum · 28/07/2025 10:50

I weigh daily and as aPP said, it can be disheartening but it would be just my luck to weigh weekly on my heaviest day and then have a random drop three weeks later that makes it look like I’ve suddenly gone down by a few pounds. I’m stagnating again and the scales are refusing to go below 14 stone but I’m just KOKO and they’ll eventually shift.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 28/07/2025 11:26

I've been on my extra low taper for more than 30 days now. Definitely not much mj left in my system. It's good in some ways but wow I'd forgotten how much easier mj made losing weight for me.

Of course this is only my experience and I was on a low dose even when I was taking mj regularly.

WoolerOwl · 28/07/2025 11:49

I try to weigh and record monthly. That way, I see the change over time without the blips. And if I am doing well and want to celebrate, I only do that once every four weeks, not every few days! So I have to keep the momentum up and a bit of pressure on myself because I don't know how I'm doing. It's quite exciting as the 26th of each month comes around. But I do have an occasional sneaky peek in between too!

Off on holiday on Saturday for a week. I need to be disciplined around the all inclusive buffet. I don't drink alcohol so that's not a problem. I am planning lots of swimming in the pool. Also, having my first two PT sessions this week and one on holiday via Zoom, so I am hoping that shakes things up a bit and compensates for a few puddings.

usedtobeaylis · 28/07/2025 11:52

I definitely don't weigh daily, I would find it disheartening. I know fluctuations are normal, even within the space of a few hours, so I'd rather just measure it by the same time on the same day each week. I do sneak an extra weigh now and then but don't record it - I'm almost always more than I end up weighing on weigh day and more than on my previous weigh day.

MissionToSize10 · 28/07/2025 14:43

I was always a strict, weekly weigher when dieting but in all honesty, daily weighing works for me. I dont get disheartened as i see now that my weight goes up and down daily! Weekly weighing when ive put on after working hard used to make me throw in the towel! 🤣
