Welcome one and all to our latest thread!

So much support and encouragement on here. Can’t wait to hear everyone’s continued achievements and NSVs.

Congratulations to everyone who has reached their goal and starting maintenance, and all the warriors still trekking on.

I still have a couple of stone to go. Feeling motivated and ready to go!

We can do this!

@skyscrapersinging How are you? Thinking of you x

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 08/07/2025 22:24

DH and I have begun to talk about separating. I probably have one foot half out the door already. It's another reason I think I should get off Mounjaro as I care less about everything when on this med. Then again maybe the weight loss is what is giving me the confidence to realise things aren't right.
We aren't rushing to a decision but I am relieved we are having the conversation.

Mounjaroday · 08/07/2025 23:27

That sounds like big stuff @Nomoretopswithblacktrousers. Are you alright?

Ok. Cried a lot. Young lady vet was so kind and took it all really slowly and explained every step to us. Was as “nice” as it could be. Luckily am away for work for a few days, being home without my lovely companion is really painful.

And thanks so much for asking. More to the point, how are YOU?

Ke11 · 09/07/2025 11:38

Just adding to the goal weight, apparently my ideal weight is 61-63 kg according to a few different systems. My goal is set at 70kg on my apps but I think I'm leaning more towards 65kg which gets me a bmi of 22.5 so solidly in the healthy range with a bit of room accounting for the extra skin and hopefully a gain in muscle.

CoolLimeSheep · 09/07/2025 12:36

@skyscrapersinging glad your as ok as can be and able to keep busy next few days.
It truly is heartbreaking thinking of you!

Ke11 · 09/07/2025 12:37

@skyscrapersinging thinking of you today. I remember when my last dog went, she was 16 and had lived her best spoiled life but had cancer and was rapidly declining, it was so quick and I was absolutely devastated but also felt quite relieved that she wasn't feeling any more pain and her horrible cough had stopped. (tearing up writing this lol and it's been 4 years). The vet that was there said something along the lines of "better a week too early than a day too late" which helped. I'm sure you know you did the right thing, it's our duty as their people to make that choice for them.

In good news, almost a year to the day after she went, I ended up (accidentally, long story) getting my current dog who is the polar opposite to her in every way except size, a complete maniac and honestly probably my favourite of all the dogs I've had so far. I'm convinced she sent him to test me lol.

Glad the vet was kind and the end was peaceful. Knowing when to let our pets go is sometimes the last act of love. Thinking of you. Bereavement pain from pets is just awful.

I'm alright, thanks.

Ah thanks so much. Yes, the Feline and Canine Overloads have ways of making us show absolute fealty…

I can't decide what to do....

Monday's are usually my jab day but it was DH's birthday and a getaway and lavish meal so I didn't want to ruin it.
My plan was to jab on our return yesterday but after a couple of days of drink and rich food I was already feeling a bit sensitive so decided to wait... I'm now not sure whether to jab today or just wait for Monday now.

I'm away for a wedding this weekend and think the suppression/ side effect may be too strong if I do it now... definitely leaning towards skipping a week BUT I'm already craving copious amounts of chocolate!

CoolLimeSheep · 09/07/2025 19:43

@Ashabeth it's entirely upto you! But I have had the odd week of here and there and I wouldn't say it's effected my journey too much tbh.
Sounds like a really busy week so enjoy 🙂

Mounjaroday · 10/07/2025 11:40

Guess you could take a lower dose if you’re not sure @Ashabeth Enjoy your week!

My arse is as flat as a pancake. Does anyone have any recommendations for shapewear that might help lift up my bottom? … or am I into dreaded squats & lunges territory?

OP posts:
PurpleCoo · 10/07/2025 12:21

@skyscrapersinging I was thinking about you and your cat. Hope you are doing ok.

@Mounjaroday I can't help with shapewear, but the squats and lunges do help, especially if you use weights at the same time. My bottom is looking proper perky and round after all the body pump I do. I can't remember when I started, but I reckon a couple of months maybe. Just need to find something that will sort the lower belly out

PandaPeacock · 10/07/2025 16:23

Is there a Thread 7 yet? Don’t know if I missed a post.

SpiralSister · 10/07/2025 17:09

Agree, @PurpleCoo - I mean I don’t do the body pump, but many hours of tough walking and 3 stone off has revealed a really quite respectable arse, for my age!

Belly? No. Horrendous 😂

Hangryfastjo · 10/07/2025 17:55

Hello all, not posted in ages, been on holiday (maintained) and generally getting on with life but I do read the thread almost daily.
Sorry to those going through hard times with life and pets. The heartache from losing a pet is definitely worth the years with them. We lost our staffie last year, and my husband is still beside himself. Unfortunately our sausage dog is so bossy and possessive it makes the thought of getting another staffie (which my husband desperately wants) impossible to contemplate.
I have 8lb to target which will be 10st 10lb and about bmi 25/26 can't remember, but i think that will be low enough for me. I'm on 10mg and next pen is 10mg as well.

A NSV I'm off to oasis in Manchester tomorrow and have been told by daughters in law, that I shouldn't even think about jeans in the heat expected and should totally wear the shorts! So there you have it, 53, off to a concert in shorts! Go me! 😂😂

just caught up with the thread. It’s brought back memories of losing our childhood lab. 😢 @skyscrapersinging thinking of you.

im on holiday this week. Arrived yesterday, I can already feel the old food noise creeping in. Breakfast buffet - oh but it all looks so nice, maybe I need a bit of everything. Even though I’m not hungry (jabbed yesterday). It’s like my brain hasn’t accepted that there will ALWAYS be food around, but I don’t need to eat it all!

anyone who’s been away on delicious foodie holidays (I’m at a place with multiple delicious a la carte restaurants all top quality food. All included) have any tips?

on the plus size, I feel normal size now, so don’t feel everyone is staring at me - they probably never did, I’m very sporty/ athletic and muscly. I was a size 16, but I feel I’d like to lose another 2 stone. I am 5 ft 9, started at 16 stone 9, am now 13 stone 11.

I need something in my head to say - just bc the kids are ordering club sarnies and chips for lunch doesn’t mean I need to eat anything if im not hungry!

WoolerOwl · 11/07/2025 11:20

I am wearing a pair of size 10 (elasticated waist) Zara linen trousers today. Vanity sizing is definitely a real thing! But even this wouldn’t have been possible back in February when I started MJ. I’m still wearing Next suit trousers in 14, and M&S jeans in 12 or 14, for reference though.

A real non-scale victory is that I wore a summer dress yesterday, and had no chub rub!

I do identify with what others have described here, about not knowing how to see myself. It’s partly that I now have slim legs, arms, neck, but still a round middle area. Like a goldfish bowl on a stick! I need to lose the last 10kg to help the visceral fat, and get from BMI 26 (now) to around 22/23. Skin seems ok, so I’m not worried about losing too much and getting saggy. It’s more that I am so used to being bigger than this and that my weight just gradually crept up over a few years that even my current slightly overweight state feels thin. And then I catch sight of myself in a photo and see that there’s still definitely plenty to lose.

It’s just hard to adjust my perspective. I think the answer is just to focus on the health benefits of losing the last 10kg and keep going.

strongermummy · 11/07/2025 12:17

Exciting news….. there was a LK Bennett sale in a warehouse near me this week. I popped in and without trying on anything I picked up 2 dresses in a size 12. Thinking they will fit me in September
tried them on and……… THEY FIT NOW!!!

I do not remember being a UK size 12 as an adult. So very exciting. Made my week.

Ke11 · 11/07/2025 13:17

Checking in for the week

Sw: 116.5kg
Cw: 85.7kg
Loss this week: 1.4kg
Total loss so far: 30.8kg or an adult dalmatian.

My bmi is now 29.7, I'm finally just overweight. Still shocked I actually got here. My next mini goal will be to get under 80kg hopefully by end of August. My main goal has been 70kg for ages but I'm thinking it'll be closer to 65kg to get me solidly in the middle of a healthy bmi.

My work uniform looks awful now, completely baggy jumpers and trousers. Since their policy is new uniform every 2 years and no free replacements even for weight change or damage/wear I refuse to buy anything new. My next uniform replacement is in November so I'll be getting creative with belts until then. I might even be at my goal by then

10mg still is quite strong so I'll be ordering a third 10mg next week, I think I've found my dose for now.
