Welcome one and all to our latest thread!

So much support and encouragement on here. Can’t wait to hear everyone’s continued achievements and NSVs.

Congratulations to everyone who has reached their goal and starting maintenance, and all the warriors still trekking on.

I still have a couple of stone to go. Feeling motivated and ready to go!

We can do this!

@Ashabeth I was exactly the same going up to 10mg. Even now 4 doses in, the first 2/3 days are the same but the rest of the week is easier to eat. I think I'm adapting slowly as time goes on.

SansaClegane · 01/07/2025 17:38

@Mounjaroday you look amazing!! I know what you mean about feeling normal as well. Keep up the good work!
@Ashabeth I never went up to 10mg, but struggled with 7.5mg initially. Think sometimes it just takes some getting used to higher doses! Or you could always try to count clicks and lower it slightly for the next one?

PurpleCoo · 01/07/2025 18:26

@Ashabeth , I can't comment on the dose as I'm only on 5mg, but could it be the heat? It was 34c yesterday, and hit over 30c today as well, and it didn't cool over night. I could never really eat when it gets above 25c (so eat in the morning and evening). It was awful in Singapore and also Ho Chi Minh City, where it stays hot 24/7. I barely ate anything for days (pre MJ and pre peri)

Mounjaroday · 01/07/2025 23:27

Don’t know if I should go up to 10mg. I’m so flipping close now to healthy BMI … might get me over the final hurdle? Anyone have any thoughts?

Will MedExpress cut me off when health bmi? Does anyone know? Or do they taper you off slowly …

So many questions!

-25lbs !

sc0ttishlass · 02/07/2025 07:53

Morning all. Loving the updates and pictures. Everyone doing so well!

Jab day here. Week 21 - 2.5lb off
Down from 13 stone 5 to 10 stone 4. Which is a loss of 43lb.
BMI is 25.5. So close!

I was unwell in past couple of weeks with covid then food poisoning so appreciate may gain some of this weeks weight back!

Week 3 of 7.5 and im srill finding it a bit of a struggle to get to grips with. First few days barely eat..then really have to watch the amount as feel really nauseaus if eat too much. Definitely taking a bit of getting used to but at the same time I like the suppression as wasn't feeling it on 5 at all really.

Oh and how lovely is it holiday shopping. I've had to buy new stuff in a size 12..such a lovely feeling!

sc0ttishlass · 02/07/2025 07:54

Oh sorry forgot to ask a question. Does anyone take electrolytes and if so which ones?

Slowrunning · 02/07/2025 07:54

@Mounjaroday we are at a similar point with similar start weight.
sw 104.8kg
cw 76.2kg

I have been on 7.5mg but took the remainder of the dose in the pen last week which was about 9.75mg. I already have another 7.5mg pen but think I am going to take a slightly higher dose out of it - maybe 8.5mg as I’ve felt good on this dose.

I am struggling with my head not catching up to my weight loss. I am now in the 11 stone bracket (just) which is the first time in about 20yrs and this morning put on a size 12 dress. But I still feel like I am the biggest in the room. I think it’s going to take a while to change my view of myself.

I emailed Pharmulous re maintenance and had a nice response back so am planning to change to them this month.

Saw this interesting article. Given all our woes/chats/despair about BMI and other means of measuring health outcomes, it’s good to know we aren’t the only ones who think it’s a terrible way to measure obesity.

I take the Liquid IV ones, mainly because I can just pick them up when I do my Tesco shop, they're disgusting though (I wonder if they all are though??)

TheYouYouAre · 02/07/2025 09:42

Jab 20 today! After a 3 week plateau, I’ve had a whoosh week and lost 1.5kg.

Keep looking at my results page on Shotsy and thinking how amazing those numbers are in just 19 weeks.

Morning All -

Check in
Start Weight - 247.8 lb
Current weight - 179.2 lb
Total loss 68.6lb

Haven't been on and weight loss has slowed down the past couple of weeks. Mum is in hospital so have been surviving on whatever monstrosity the Hospital canteen has cooked up and bourbon Biscuits , but not much i can do about it so am just focusing on not beating myself up too much.

Hope all is going ok for everyone x

sweetpickle2 · 02/07/2025 12:15

Sorry about your mum @Everyothernamewasalreadyinuse - hope she's okay. Do what you need to do to survive, the jabs will still be there after!

WoolerOwl · 02/07/2025 12:43

Week 19.

Two NSVs today:

  1. I had to redo my Face ID for iPhone as it didn't recognize me!
  2. I measured for a new bra, using the boob or bust method, and came out as a 34DD. I think I used to be wearing the wrong band size even when I was lighter, but it feels like an eternity (early twenties) since I was a 34 anything. I've ordered one on Vinted to try, strapless, and also a sundress.

On the less positive side, I've got Covid. Feel sick and have upset stomach as well as fever and sore throat, so will delay jab by a couple of days.

usedtobeaylis · 02/07/2025 13:45

God my upper arms are so loose now 😫 even just doing the dishes I can feel the skin on the underneath - the bingo wings - just flapping around 😩

OvertiredandConfused · 02/07/2025 14:41

@Ashabeth, @Ke11 I am on week two of 10mg and am finding the suppression really strong. I've only managed 750-900 calories per day in the first four days after jab.

I was feeling so flabby and flappy yesterday. Really bugged me.

It feels horrible. There must be a way to improve it.

On the plus side, there's a set of really steep steps at my local park and last summer I challenged myself to go up them every time I passed - it was a nightmare. A real struggle and it would take ages for my breathing to go back to normal while I chugged half a bottle of water. I just climbed them for the first time this summer and what. a. difference. I'd say I'm a wee bit fitter in general than I was this time last year but I'm in no doubt it's the fact I'm not carrying that 3 stone about. My breathing wasn't too bad and it went back to normal in a fraction of the time. My chest wasn't heaving and my lungs weren't bursting. How easy would it be with the other 3 stone off!

P.s I love your username

SpiralSister · 02/07/2025 20:05

Evening lovelies. For those of you who are gym goers, does it get more enjoyable by any chance?😂

2nd session today. Apparently I ‘smashed it’. Feel now like it smashed me!

I must do this though. And I am glad, actually, that I waited to be 3 stone lighter before starting. It would simply have been too overwhelming before.

I really love exercise, though even despite that it can be hard to be motivated at times. But it's true what they say about the natural high from it, or I find that anyway. I think the trick is to find something you love doing.

OntheTrainX · 02/07/2025 22:21

I’m going up to 10mg next week and am hoping for good results and a whoosh. I would like to reach goal in 8 weeks’ time. I’ve got 9lbs to go.

I’m going to try to stay at goal without a maintenance dose. Hoping that others on here will do the same and give me some inspo! For some reason I’ve started to hate injecting. I’ve never been scared of needles or squeamish or anything, so I don’t know why. Feel vaguely nauseous and unsettled.

Zibb · 02/07/2025 23:03

@SansaClegane I agree, we'd be good IRL friends! Thank you, and wishing you strength too. It's sooo damn hard. Why do they make it so difficult to get help for our kids? I've got a CAMHS meeting in the morning and I'm dreading it. Trying to resist drowning my sorrows in chocolate right now.

@CoolLimeSheep , @MJSpideySenses , @Mounjaroday you are all looking INCREDIBLE! Amazing progress, I hope you all feel so proud of yourselves. I'm proud of you guys!

Well done to everyone on all of your losses and NSVs! It's so inspiring reading through them all and I'm so impressed. It's amazing how far we've all come in such a short amount of time.
I honestly could cry sometimes reading this thread. Everyone's doing amazing and you are all so kind and supportive.

flipflop76 · 02/07/2025 23:06

Evening all. I'm still plateauing and have remained the same for about 3 weeks. I'm on my first 7.5mg pen but haven't noticed any difference to 5mg. I feel really hungry most of the time, still crave chocolate and crisps and eat quite a bit. I'm thinking of going straight up to 10mg for the next pen (I did 1 month on 2.5mg, 2 months on 5mg and now on 7.5mg, jab 3). Ive lost 2 stone in 4 months but it is slow and I tend to lose a couple of lbs and then nothing for weeks.

My only dilemma is that I'd be taking my first 10mg jab on the morning of our holiday and I don't want any bad side effects on hols (and want to enjoy the food!). I could attempt a golden dose from my current 7.5mg pen (I failed when I tried that before as I couldn't keep the syringe plunger thing out once I'd drawn the liquid up) or I could start the new 10mg pen but not administer the whole amount perhaps.

flipflop76 · 02/07/2025 23:08

Also I'm now having considerable hair loss which is quite scary! I've got really thick hair which helps but so much comes out in the brush after washing and I can pull a handful out too. Hoping it calms down! Am taking collagen and biotin.

I was feeling so flabby and flappy yesterday. Really bugged me.

I get this. Not only do I look like a melted candle in the nuddy but I'm wobbling and flapping in places it shouldn't be possible. I find myself wearing gym leggings and sports tops to keep myself all compressed!

I'm hoping time and building more muscle will really help.
