Welcome one and all to our latest thread!

So much support and encouragement on here. Can’t wait to hear everyone’s continued achievements and NSVs.

Congratulations to everyone who has reached their goal and starting maintenance, and all the warriors still trekking on.

I still have a couple of stone to go. Feeling motivated and ready to go!

We can do this!

@ZibbThanks Zibb, you’re right, probably nothing to worry about. Just not like me. I craved pizza last night so had a couple of slices. Hopefully stodgy carbs will get me bunged up again !
It’s so weird seeing yourself in photos isn’t it? My face has changed so much! I still automatically avoid mirrors in shops out of habit but when I see one by accident I’m becoming pleasantly surprised.

It seems we all have in common not being able to gauge our new bodies properly yet - the brain is taking a while to catch up!

mumandgran24 · 18/06/2025 07:06

So I started at 16st 10 back in Feb. And a couple of times in the past I have managed to lose 1-2 stone then got disheartened and gave up. So this time I set my first goal as 14 stone. It has been over 15 years since I was this weight and I hit it last week.

Feels mad tbh, I need a new goal so not sure but think I will go 12 stone which I haven’t been since I was in my early thirties tbh.

A NSV was walking into work yesterday I caught my reflection in the glass and actually did a double take. Rather than clearly obese I don’t have the giant spare tire anymore. I mean I don’t look thin but it was strikingly a different shape to the one I have been used to for years.

starting to consider what I will do for maintenance. I tried slimpod in the past and it did work at first, wondering if that plus intermittent fasting that also helped for a while may be useful at that stage.

Getting more people noticing now as well which is tough as I hate to lie, but don’t want to broadcast to everyone about the MJ either.

Agree with the bra thing, defo need some new ones. Also wedding ring feels very lose lol.

@WoolerOwl what's the verdict on the new bathroom scales...? Grin

Sorry! No time to update yesterday.

I think I can declare a New Scale Victory. 79.2kg. BMI 26.5. From a starting point of 100kg and BMI 33.4 16 weeks ago. So nice to see the 70s!

About 5kg to go to not overweight and 10kg to goal.

The scales issue would explain why I seemed to lose much less in April. The family bathroom ones definitely weigh heavier and I switched to them after Easter when the en-suite ones started going doolally. But I could tell I had lost because my clothes were looser. Moral of the story: the scale numbers only tell me so much and are not a cause for giving up.

A genuine non-scale victory as well, is that I’m looking after my skin better. The collagen I’ve been on since February seems to really be showing in glowing skin and bright eyes, which a few people have commented on. (I’m taking the Benjamin Button liquid sachets, mango, which feel like a delicious secret treat every morning). And then a kind friend bought me lovely face and neck cream back in February when I was having such a stressy time at work, and that looks and feels good too. I think I had given up bothering before MJ but I feel so much better now.

That’s my face and neck anyway. Not sure what’s going to fix the catering size pack of jelly that is my stomach! But at least there is less of it.

Can I share my excitement about my weight?

As I've said previously on this thread, I'm not that bothered about losing weight. I am a T2 diabetic and my GP prescribed MJ to control my blood sugars. Which it seems to be doing really well, and I am so grateful

I do weigh myself every week, on jab day, and last Saturday was 9 stone 13 lbs. Given that I can fluctuate by the odd pound or so I didn't take it as necessarily accurate. However, I broke my rule of only weighing once a week and weighed myself this morning.

I now weigh 9-12. My BMI is 23. I haven't been under 10 stone since before Covid. It feels like a real achievement.

Turns out I do care how much I weigh after all.
My worry now is trying to keep around this weight and not lose more as I'm concerned my GP won't carry on prescribing if I lower my BMI any further. I really need to control my diabetes

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 18/06/2025 09:35

My saddle bags have shrunk noticeably. When I grab the side of my arse it feels so different.
I wore white shorts on the weekend and then orange trousers to work today.

Ke11 · 18/06/2025 14:39

I love the NSV idea @Mounjaroday
For me there have been a few:

The biggest one I think is confidence, in myself, in the way I look, that I can actually lose this weight and get to the middle of the healthy bmi range, that I can eat in public or around others without being ashamed. I've even started taking a few selfies, something I never did before. It's even had a positive effect on my relationships with my family. I'm just overall happier as a person.

Physical movement. I can bend down and pick something up so much easier, I can tie my laces and cut my toenails without feeling like I've cut off my air/blood supply, I can walk with so much less pain since my dodgy ankle is 90% less painful and I can actually wander round shops, my average daily step count has gone up from around 6000 (Feb) to around 8000. Dog is still not impressed with the extra walking, I'm convinced he was a slug in a previous life.

I'm counting this forum and the people too, the support without judgement and seeing the different experiences people are having has definitely kept me going.

Hey all.
Not long back from my holiday, a Mediterranean cruise with food available almost 24 hours a day 😳.
Cakes and deserts available constantly, but thankfully, not that nice, (because of mounjaro?), had to keep checking though. I put on weight (around 5lb) and still have 2 to lose to get to pre cruise weight. Did 15000 stepscevery port day and find walking so much easier, hubby has nicknamed me sporty spice.
In one of the ships restaurants I was full mid meal so left some food on my plate, omg did I get a grilling from the waitress, asking me if I didn't like the chicken etc. I just said it was lovely but I'm full, I wasnt about to explain about being on mounjaro ffs. Made me feel a bit bad tbh, it was a very posh restaurant so I was feeling anxious to begin with, not my scene at all.
Anyway, pre cruise I'd lost 2 stone 2lb, post cruise I weighed and saw my 5lb weight gain 😪, now back to 2 stone loss so I'm happyish. Just started 7.5mg on my 17th week, no side effects up to now.
Onwards and downwards people, we're all doing fab. X

strongermummy · 18/06/2025 23:29

A new non scale victory…. I have a pair of knickers which are way way too big now…. Must have come from my seriously fat era!!
made the mistake of packing them for a business trip.

bugger. What a nightmare.

must chuck them out. Such a shame as they are lovely knickers!!!!!

usedtobeaylis · 19/06/2025 11:21

I was 13st 11lb on Saturday when I weighed and when I stepped on for a look this morning it's so disappointing to see it sitting back up in the 14s. Where's that angry girl with the brush gif 😆

Mounjaroday · 19/06/2025 11:26

New NSV! I slept flat on my front last night, for the first time in maybe 15 years, I reckon. Previously my boobs have been too huge and uncomfortable to lie on but not anymore!

And a massive scale victory today that wanted to share with you good people. Morning weigh in was 78kg on the nose, which means I have officially lost 4 whole stone and 80% to target. I’ll bounce back up a little over the weekend but in the meantime … I’ll take that and party!

NSV: this hot weather is so much more manageable now I’m 2 stone down from last summer.

Incredible, @Mounjaroday and @AnnaQuayInTheUk ! Brava!

If its any consolation ive gained a couple or 3 lbs this week, but its not fat, its fluid retention from the heat, although its also very bloody unwelcome 😕

HoratioBum · 19/06/2025 18:59

Well done @Mounjarodayand @AnnaQuayInTheUk !! Those NSVs feel great don’t they?
In fact well done everyone - here’s to a sunny and fabulous weekend!!

Febnewbie · 19/06/2025 20:26

@HoratioBum how are you feeling? Has the diarrhoea passed? (No pun intended)

HoratioBum · 19/06/2025 22:17

@Febnewbie Weirdly after 6 days of liquid trots, today my arse has slammed shut like a bear trap and I haven’t been to the loo all day. I was supposed to take a stool sample to the GPs but my bum has refused to play ball!
Hopefully my body has passed any infection that was lurking. I really hope so because I was getting sick of dry toast!

Ke11 · 20/06/2025 08:15

Weigh in day for me, appetite still overly supressed but not as bad, I'm adapting.

Sw:116.5kg
Cw: 88.8kg
Loss this week 1.4kg
Total loss so far: 27.7kg

Im just over 2 kilos away from being merely "overweight", I haven't been there since I passed it on my way up in my teens.

I went back to work yesterday after a week off and within 5 mins all 3 ppl I work with had separately asked a out my weight loss, I wonder if they were talking about it while I was off 🤣. They are all very nice about it. I've told my manager about the jabs and she just wanted to know I have any side effects so she can support me. My work bestie in typical style said I look like I've been kidnapped by terrorists, we both have very dark humour.

Finding it so much easier to cope with the heat tthese days too.

I've switched supplier to pharmulous since they support maintenance and it was so easy, I was approved literally 30 mins after sending the last prescription info and a picture, quite impressed so far. Definitely staying on 10 though.

usedtobeaylis · 20/06/2025 08:44

The amount of hair falling out my head is insane. So much this morning when I was washing it, I'm convinced I must have bald spots I can't see. I thought that was the worst of it until I then brushed my hair and had to actually go out into the back garden so it didn't get everywhere. When does it stop 😶

Edited

And only going to get worse! At least my feet haven't swelled up in this heat, I think that's something a lot of us are seeing with reduced swelling in general.

I have this too

I find it particularly annoying as I haven't lost weight particularly quickly so I feel like it's a bit unfair!

I am still on a plateau, haven't really lost anything (maybe 1 lb or so) in the last 6 weeks.
