I lost nothing in 4 weeks on first dose . Waste of money . I ate in a calorie deficit also and excersized
If the whole point of this medication is just to stop you from feeling hungry and suppress appetite rather than actually medically working to help you lose weight then it’s pointless because if I eat in a calorie deficit without it I’d lose weight anyway ?
Quite disheartening. Started at 12 stone finished at 11.13 stone. What am I doing wrong ? At this point I’m going to start eating cotton wool !

This thread is an example of why online pharmacies are scary as anyone can order anything and don’t do basic research or have understanding in what drugs they are putting in their bodies.

OP please do some research before you make yourself really sick. Some previous posters have sent through some great advice but before ordering a higher dose make sure you have gone for the weight loss drug most suitable for you as it doesn’t sound like you have masses of weight to lose that Munjaro would be needed hence why you haven’t lost a lot straight away like other people have. If someone has 6 stone to lose then they would see more results at a faster pace.

Also you don’t need to cut out carbs as it’s important to eat small balanced meals especially if you have side effects.

good luck!

Hello I am 5’6 was 12 before now 11.13
diet before hand was terrible ( depression combined with very inactive sit down stressful job) usually Sainsbury’s ready meals , occasional home cooking chicken thighs potatoes, rice steaks and chips - I didn’t track calories
i’m now eating just two meals a day a small salad for lunch ( just salad veg) and a dinner consisting of salad a meat ( say chicken breast or lean steak ) with boiled new potatoes - but this is a child’s portion
excerrsize bike at home and sit ups

I have started feeling dizzy, and the 2.5 mg dose is giving me very bad bloating and distended tummy throughout the day . I also have really bad constipation.
I’m going to try the 5 mg and actually do some calorie counting. I didn’t bother to do it because I’m eating so little . I’m probably going to buy some laxatives as well.

Aren't you below the recommended BMI already?

People can qualify if they are from some ethnic backgrounds or have certain health conditions at 27 BMI

I eat no breakfast , a salad at lunch and dinner which is salad with olive oil vinegar and st dressing a meat and a veg side that’s it , no snacks . I’m also feeling quite dizzy because I’m suspecting my blood sugar is quite low so I’m a bit confused why I’m eating so little and not losing any weight. Maybe as others have said the 2.5mg is a low dose . It’s supposed to work on your hormones and weight loss is a side-effect as well as you need to eat in a calorie deficit. Maybe I just need to do a bit more reading on it.

Constipation, water retention, bloating will leave the scales heavier.

In reality you cannot know you are in a calorie deficit without tracking absolutely everything you put in your mouth, including squash, the milk in your tea and the oil you cook with. You’d be surprised how calorie dense a salad can be with some dressing on. I expect you aren’t seeing the results you were hoping for because you aren’t really aware of what you are eating. I’m not on the jabs, and really struggle to lose weight, but I’m averaging 0.5-1lb a week just from tracking my food

clappydays · 02/06/2025 09:35

You mentioned that you don’t eat breakfast and then have a salad for lunch and then dinner is meat, veg and salad. That sounds like very little food.

I’d echo what the others are saying. Track your calories (every last mouthful) for a few days and see what you’re eating and whether it’s too much or too little. You’re also not classed as obese so if you’re closer to your goal weight, your weight loss will be slower. From the looks of it, you’d only need to lose about 1 stone so it makes sense that you’d lose very, very slowly. But defo track that intake, it’s very easy to be eating more than you realise.

I want to eventually get away from tracking as when I come off MJ, I’d like to have a sustainable way of managing my weight (probably mindful/intuitive eating) but in these early stages, I track religiously and don’t eat more than 1250 cals a day. Once I move to 5mg and the drug properly kicks in, I imagine this will reduce.

  1. Are you on a legitimate prescription
  2. Either way, if you were in a true calorie deficit you'd have lost weight. MJ or no MJ
  3. Exercise bike does not burn many calories, unless you go heall for leather, for 1 hour plus
  4. being constipated will hinder weight loss. Drink more water and have a big shit
  5. You can't 'eat too little'. It's a myth. See point 2.
Edited

All correct, and there is no starvation mode fat storing, if you were in a calorie deficit you’d lose weight.

increase your protein, and water and get the recommended amount of fibre a day

Oh yes that's true hadn't thought of that. But I guess if you have a lower BMI and don't need to lose that much you aren't going to be losing loads like bigger people would be.

Ok so your not eating enough which is why your dizzy etc it's really hard because it suppresses your appetite. Try eating smaller meals more often it'll help with the symptoms.

The injection also causes your food to stay in your digestive system longer so it could be your hanging onto this. I am finding that I get constipated a bit and they when im not I see bigger results.

Also 2.5mg is normally used to get you used to it. Some people see big results on this which is amazing some dont. I didn't im on week 2 of 7.5mg and have 17lb off so far. Stick with it you'll get there.

I'd also track your food and make sure your eating enough it's very easy to get into the trap of eating very little and that when you run into issues.

I also started walking more aiming for 3500steps more than I was and increasing each month. Walking is a really amazing hack for weight loss.

If you are 5 ft6 and 12 stone then you are at a relatively low starting BMI (just under 27?)

I started at 5ft6 and 12 stone just like you.

2.5mg and 5mg had no impact on me at all (but I did loose weight due to placebo effect and a strict calorie control diet).

Mounjaro effect kicked in at 7.5mg.

I'm now on 12.5mg which has been the best dose for me. I don't feel hungry and have great suppression and much reduced food noise.

I'm also now only 8stone10 which is BMI of about 19.5

Give it time. You might not reep the benefits of mj til 7.5mg or even a higher dose.

Good luck

...and also to add!.. I also felt very dizzy and had low blood sugar for the first 4 weeks, but have been fine since.

We sound v similar! Give it time.
