I’ve got my 5g pen in the fridge in case the golden dose doesn’t work. My husband has been doing all the jabs so far, he’s used to doing our horses now and again, and isn’t squeamish, so it will be his dept. Although the needle hasn’t arrived yet.
So far I haven’t had any SE or much suppression yet. I’m nervously curious as to what a higher dose will achieve.

Off to hospital shortly for a scan on my knee. Fingers crossed.
I feel absolutely knackered today. Been to the loo more in the past 12 hours than I have since I started mj. Increased to 5mg on Friday, not sure if it's connected to that.

Mentally fine though - already solved a problem at work and put the dishwasher on. Mondays with no hangover rule.

Week 7 weigh in 1st 6.6lb gone!

I did my 6th jab yesterday, total loss 1 stone 7lb. Think I will stay on 5mg for next pen. Have about 11lbs to target weight of 10stone. Top end of my healthy BMI, so will re-evaluate at that point.

Difficult weekend here rampaging period /hormones plus some really sad news broken brutally by someone who should have known better left me totally reeling on Saturday!!

I ended up returning to bad habits & ate lots & drank alcohol for first time on MJ. My body did not approve & I was really sick afterwards a few times! Not enough alcohol to have caused it (I don’t think as still a lot less than I could drink pre MJ!)

yesterday was hideous as was tired, hungover & cross at myself!

today have decided to forgive myself & did a long fast overnight and broke it with a protein smoothie & feeling much better now & using day off to do some gardening!!

interesting to feel how my emotions just over rode it and magnified my knowledge that I have to learn better coping mechanisms as part of this journey!!!

just hard to know where to start!!!!

I guess this is an opportunity- you have two choices now. You either fall off the wagon or you pick yourself up and carry on. And if you pick yourself up and carry on then that’s something to celebrate- a nsv. Because we’d usually just focus on the “oh I fucked up and was terrible” when we should actually focus on the fact that “I pulled myself up and avoided a downward spiral”. We’re always going to have moments where we go off track. Life is always going to have parties and occasions when we drink or eat. I don’t think it’s those days that are the issue, it’s what we do next.

I've come down with D&V and not sure if it's mounjaro related or not. One of the DC has it but not half as bad as me.

Genuinely never been so ill in my life 😅 Had a gain this week (a fucking gain!? I'm fuming) so it's been a double blow this weekend.

Oh heck! Sorry to read that. Hope you’re feeling better soon. It will probably come off again next week. If the kids have it too surely it’s a bug? Perhaps the MJ amplified it.

Just catching up on the thread - I weighed in at the pharmacy on Friday and have lost 4kg in the first 4 weeks - a little disappointed but I guess slow and steady wins the race! I wouldn't have lost this without the jabs so something must be working

I went up to 5mg - and will see how this goes. I am not going to weigh at home this month and see what I weigh in at in 4 weeks

Quick question about the 5th dose: I've got a few spare needles which came with my pen. Will these be compatible with syringes I can buy online? Or do I need to make sure I get the same brand? Thanks

Gahh! If you push the lid down too firmly on the sharps box, it locks and you can't get it open again!

@Seahorsesplendour I'm so sorry, your weekend sounds really tough and I think you've done really well pulling yourself through to the other side. I think @Fatrosrhun is bang on the money.

For me, a prior binge-drinker (have I mentioned I used to drink a lot? No? It never came up? 😋), pre-MJ if I drank a disgusting amount when trying to do better, the next day there'd be a wicked, awful combination of shame, guilt and an inevitability of the freefall back into 'my old ways'. I think the feeling of shame can be so significant that it removes any personal agency and traps us into repeating things, it makes us feel powerless and the shame feeds itself.

I don't see that happening with you, @Seahorsesplendour . To me it feels like you did some hard work on the emotional stuff, and that's the difficult work. The immediate, kneejerk reaction can be changed in time.

im mid week 4 right now, and my stalled week last week is behind me. Scales gently going down again.

Two things I’m pondering though:
my god I’m craving Mc Donald’s. Like it’s the only food noise I have. I’m desperate for a filthy QP and fries, but I know it will make me feel terrible. I wish there was a way of mitigating against SE if you ever want to momentarily fall off the wagon!

and my other deep musing…

Im convinced I’m undoing all the jab work with the amount of coffee Im drinking. In an effort to avoid constipation I’m having two cups of good coffee a day and it’s keeping me very regular. But am I in fact speeding up digestion and making myself more hungry and undoing all the work the jab is doing?

I feel like coffee is keeping me on track but maybe I’d be better off without it

I'm 3 days in to week 4 and the scales are finally moving again. The stall last week was annoying but previously on diets I would have thrown myself head first into a takeaway so definitely improving.

I still have 2 coffees a day. Couldn't function otherwise.

I can't find any suppliers with small needles in stock in quantities of less than 100! I keep getting annoyed and just giving up!

Yes I can get the syringes, just not the needles. I think they're very popular all of a sudden. I wonder why... !

@Seahorsesplendour sounds like you had a tough weekend, so glad you pulled it back and got on with life! I definitely feel like in the past if something went wrong I would go on a binge. But now I wouldn’t be able to as can’t eat much in one sitting so it saves me from myself! Hope you have a good week 🙂

ive put on about 3lb since being on 5mg 😟 I did jab 2 on Sunday. Biggest side effect has been reflux but since having gaviscon after each meal it’s been totally manageable. But again I bearly ate last week as felt so sick so why the 3lb gain?! Not self sabotaging though as can only stomach a small salad for a meal 🤣 I was thinking the weight loss would increase with the higher dose?

We have a lot of children and staff off with this at the moment so hopefully not MJ related! I hope you feel better soon.

Im also going up and down a half pound/pound since I've been on the 5mg. It's quiet disturbing. I haven't changed anything in my diet since week 1 (well under my calorie deficit, eating around 1200 kcal per day). I think this is the infamous plateau everyone keeps talking about. I'll just keep persevering...
