MJ box arrived torn open?

I've been on mounjaro for 2 months now. Been with medexpress. Had no problems but my most recent pen has come with the box literally torn open. Not squashed, but like someone has ripped it. When I took it out from the cool bag the pen fell out because the box was all ripped.

I messaged med express obviously because I'm injecting this stuff into me and I wouldn't take a paracetamol if it had been opened in the supermarket! They don't care, said pen inside will be fine. I asked them to gaurentee it and they won't, just said it'll be okay to take.

Would you take it?
I'm a bit fuming to be honest, the amount we pay and it's come open 🫣 I understand the box getting squished in transit but not ripped open surely? Should I just leave it and take it or carry on speaking to them? I've been back and to with them for a week! Will be changing providers for sure! Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi, I've not had this but understand your concern and like you say, we pay a lot! the pen lid isn't sealed is it.. so I guess anyone could open a box without us knowing anyway. How bad does it look? does the pen itself look exactly like your current one?

I can see why you'd be worried but personally if the pen itself looked ok to me with the right amount of clear liquid, expiry date as expected etc, I'd go ahead and take it, but it's a personal choice.

Mine usually arrives ripped as it's wet from the ice pack melting, so long as the pens in good nick, that's the important bit.

It's quite common. I've had several pens arrive with the perforations 'torn'. It is just from pressure on the box during the delivery process.

I wouldn't mind if it was visibly squashed but it's like someone has stuck their fingers in it, opposite end to the opening (perforation) that was still intact! It was also bone dry so not wet off the ice or anything! It does just look like someone's ripped it open then popped it in a package and sent to me!

I think I'll have to take it, can't afford a new pen! But has definitely changed my mind on med express as a provider. Fingers crossed it hasn't been tampered with I guess!!

Happens to mine regularly, perforations on box, damp with condensation and a parcel that might have been squished means the boxes sometimes pop open during transit. Nothing to worry about if the parcels outer packaging is all intact as normal.

Medexpress are known for this - move to someone better.

Hi this exact thing happened with my box this morning also from medexpress, no dampness on the box just looks like the opening part of the box has been ripped.
Med express gave me the exact same answer as you received.
I totally agree they should have a way to pack the pens securely.

My last pen from med express came with a cardboard outer covering the box so I guess it’s happening a lot. I do find med express to be one of the better for delivery as they ship in boxes rather than bags though.

Each to their own but I wouldn't accept this. It would be going back for a refund.

I had this with med express a few times but they’ve since started putting a brown sleeve around the box and it’s solved the issue. Did yours have this?

Mine arrived just under 3 days from dispatch and boxes soggy. Felt room temp inside box. Boxes all open.
Should I chuck? They won't refund

You can’t force them to refund though…

If you paid on your credit card you can get a charge back.
I did this for Bolt when I received pens with a very short shelf life and they refused to exchange or refund.
You would need photos and screenshots of your communication with Medexpress.

How long did the chargeback take? I lodged one in the week but haven't had any communication or confirmation it was received.

About ten days

It’s just happened to me today! The outer delivery box, including the cooling packaging, was sealed and intact on arrival. However, the inner box containing the injection pen was already open when I unpacked it, and the pen itself was not properly positioned within its holder inside the box.
As this is an injectable medication, I am concerned about the safety, sterility, and integrity of the product.
I’ve emailed them, but am worried now after reading this that they wouldn’t want to send me the replacement.

I have never had a pen holder in a box?

There is a slot for the injection pen within the packaging, but the pen wasn’t inside it.

Oh the wee cardboard bit, yeah I have never had a pen delivered inside that. They are just in the box.

Been on this 18 months, the pen has never been in that little bit inside the box. And lots have come a bit squished and popped open.

Don’t worry, your pen is exactly where it’s meant to be.

As you can see, the pen is too big to sit inside the mini box. That’s just there to help stop the pen from rolling around inside the box. I’ve got 4 pens in my fridge currently and opened 2 new boxes to double check.

That’s not true. It can fit into that slot and the box can be closed after that. Putting them next to that slot doesn’t stop them rolling. I don’t understand why someone is ripping boxes off and sending them like that.

@TonyaHr Interesting. Did yours arrive like that? Was your box damaged on arrival?

None of my boxes have been opened before delivery and all the pens were in the main compartment, so it’s unlikely that they’ve been tampered with, which is what’s worrying the previous poster.
