I have the worst mental block with the spelling of this medication!! Almost did it wrong again but THINK it's correct now. Obviously 3rd time's the charm!!

Great work / losses / NSVs so far everyone!

I’ll. definitely have a read! Thanks for sharing

I gave up after three pages! A lot of the usual mums net sniping!

I read quite a bit of it and then gave up because it was making me depressed. There’s a maintenance thread somewhere where the people sound lovely and positive and there is definitely good advice there.

Morning all

I’ve been feeling a bit light headed and dizzy the last few days I assume cause im not getting my calories quite right but who knows really.

my 6 year old woke up at 5am and did not manage to go back to sleep. I am bracing myself for a day of violence and shouting.

SparklyGlitterballs · 26/05/2025 07:52

Just checking in again. Last week I took my bonus dose from my 2.5 pen and got about 0.7 out. Although it was just over 2.5 I had more food noise this week and I've definitely eaten more. However, I've just done my weekly weigh in before doing my first jab at 5mg and I've lost 6lb. Not sure how that works and I'll definitely take it 🙂 This is my biggest loss so far, apart from W1, as other weeks it's been between 0.5lb and 2.5lb. It's given me a boost I needed this week.

So, stats so far:

W5D1

Start. 231
Now. 218
Total loss. 13lb
Goal. 150

diian · 26/05/2025 08:06

@hotshota @Knakeredd I was with med express and went up to 7.5mg, but I had so many side effects. I ended up taking only 5mg, but was still ill so dropped down to 3.75mg from the 7.5mg pen. Because med express remind you to order every 3 weeks, I built up a stock pile of 4 pens by the time I hit goal. These pens were all 5mg, so have lasted me 30 weeks (3 pens) of maintaining (Oct -April). I have one 5mg pen left in the fridge but I really wanted to see what happened to my body with MJ. So far so good.

SeaDippingandLattes · 26/05/2025 08:15

Morning all, is anyone doing anything nice for half term? We had three nights in west wales and it was just the break we needed :) found a cheaper cottage option last minute and the kids had a fab time. I’ve eaten more crap like pizza and pasty but have had a piece or half the pasty - sort of thing and then we have clocked up some steps with all the beach walks so have managed to lose 3 pounds still this week which I’m delighted with.

Unsure whether to continue on 3.75 (no side effects this week thank fuck!) or eek it up to 4 or go for 5 today…

sw16.2
cw 14.9

also my old fashioned scales have a broken screen so hard to read. What are people’s thoughts on those renphro scales? Is it a horrendous read 😂 when fat..,,😳

Summerbay23 · 26/05/2025 08:29

W7D1 (did 3.75mg last night but weigh on Monday morning).

SW 16st 9lbs
CW 15st 10lbs

loss - 13lbs

Would like to have made the stone mark by now but need to remind myself of the positives.

Haven’t been this weight for a long time so 13lbs is brilliant.
We do have a busy social life so have still had odd wine etc.
I’m still on pretty low dose and losing.
Slow loss hopefully good loose skin adjusting??
Will probably up to 5mg once holiday out of the way.

vl888 · 26/05/2025 09:09

Need to order my next pen this week, and can't decide whether to stay on 5mg or move to 7.5mg - anyone moved to 7.5mg yet?!

I have no SE on 5, and am losing with decent suppression, but when I was nearing the end of 2.5, my suppression was starting to get lower, so I'm scared I order a 5mg and the same happens and I end up wishing I'd moved to 7.5mg...

Arrgghhh Dilema....

Squiffy01 · 26/05/2025 09:28

@vl888 i have some 7.5 the last two weeks. To be honest I haven’t noticed much of a difference so I’m going to drop back down to 5mg for my next jab and see. So will do a week on 5mg to properly test cause maybe 7.5 has been great and I just didn’t realise 🤣 so shall see.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 26/05/2025 10:45

Can anyone please remind me where I can get a syringe for the bonus dose? I bought needles but forgot the syringe 🙈

Thankyou!

Just heard on the news that we will no longer be eligible to compete at the Olympics as the active ingredient in the jabs is now on the banned list. Oh well.

I did a quick google search after reading your post last night. What I read was pretty awful and very much against GLP-1 injections including malnourishment, weakness etc.

I have noticed a lot of medical improvements in the 8 weeks (almost) since having mounjaro, in addition to weight loss.

  1. no seizures for 8 weeks ( had approximately 3-8 per week)
  2. no migraine headaches (lots of what I would call normal headaches treatable with otc tablets, not frovatriptan
  3. Reduction in joint pain
  4. Reduction in bp, so i think I will be able to stop bp tablets within the next couple of months)
  5. After a head injury some 42 years ago, I developed an addiction to the codeine found in co-codamol. Mounjaro has cured this addiction so none in 8 weeks - there is ongoing research in its effectiveness in addiction.
  6. recent reports of 50% reduction in the risk of cancer
  7. FINALLY - weight loss

im surprised I’m due for my next dose tomorrow and suppression is still high. I had a banana and some grapes and I feel so full !!

I’ve stuck with 5 for my next pen - it’s a good dose for me still

QS90 · 26/05/2025 13:54

@hotshota I still have good suppression still too, and my jab was due yesterday! I wonder if we now have other things which support fullness, such as improved gut microbiome and a stomach which has shrunk 🤔

I'm planning on staying on 5mg too.

Schoolsec · 26/05/2025 14:22

I’m W5, D3, second week on 5mg.
Loss 10.7 lbs. Gonna stay on 5mg. Pleased with loss but have felt emotional 2/3 days after jab. Not like me at all. Whole thing reminds me a bit of being pregnant and going off so many foods. A little nausea has kicked in with 5mg.

QS90 · 26/05/2025 14:35

@Pepperwaggytail My mum lost a lot of weight a few years ago (the old fashioned way, without WLI). She was pre-diabetic, so the NHS put her in a sort of group therapy / nutritional education programme. She said one of the biggest barriers the women had to overcome, was other people's expectations. A lot of them had husbands who were difficult about dinners etc, or family who disapproved. Actually a few dropped out, largely due to these reasons, and at least one went on to develop full diabetes (she and my mum bumped in to each other as they're in the same village). It is a real challenge that people have to deal with. My mum was "bloody minded" about it (her words). She got to a healthy weight, and is still there years later. She's in her 60s now, and still (touch wood) in good health - she has the energy and ability to go in to London for art exhibitions / theatre, look after her grandchildren, go on holidays and walk around seeing things she's interested in... I think it's hard for most adults (especially women imo), to look after themselves with the same amount of attention that we would give to someone else in our care. But it is something we deserve, and it's not on when people try and dissuade us from it.

You seem quite stressed about keeping the WLI secret, which I do get. But maybe it's worth considering letting everyone know, if it's causing this much worry? Just a thought.

Your neighbours were being especially selfish and controlling imo, buying you something you had explicitly said you didn't want. Hope the rest of the bank holiday has been without incident x

OP posts:
QS90 · 26/05/2025 14:37

@MissCreative Selfishly, whenever I see articles which are really anti WLI, I can't help but think "OH well, at least if people are put off, the price won't go up / there will be fewer issues with supply"!!

You're right though, the propaganda against it, is bizarre.

Buy 7.5mg, as if you end up counting the clicks to 5mg, it'll be cheaper? And if you change your mind and decide you want 7.5mg, you'll already have it in....

My appetite has returned! Had about 4 days with no hunger whatsoever (I had to force feed myself during). Was really hungry yesterday and had quite a filling lunch where I ate too much and felt ill in the evening so couldn’t manage any dinner. Eaten a small lunch today but it’s made me feel a bit sick, but may be more due to the type of food rather than volume.

GreenSalon2 · 26/05/2025 15:29

I haven’t posted in a while but found you again.

I’m at the end of week 7 and just gone up to 5mg after using a 5mg pen to take 3.75mg for two weeks. But suppression hasn’t been great so I moved up a few days ago. Feeling a bit queasy and definitely more suppression. WL has been slow ish 0.5 kg per week but trying to be satisfied with that as long as it continues to go down.

vl888 · 26/05/2025 15:42

Did you go from 2.5 to 5 or 2.5 to 3.75 and then 5?

MissCreative · 26/05/2025 18:18

Cerberus1808 · 24/05/2025 22:00

Did something potentially risky tonight. Normally jab on a Monday night but moving up to 5mg this time and just done it tonight (2 days early), the logic being if I'm ill on it at least my husband is around for the next couple of days, plus all the good effects have been absent for the last week or two.

Keeping everything crossed for no side effects from going up a dose....

how did you get on with the 5mg dose? I’m due to go up in Wednesday and don’t know whether or not to do 3.75

DrMonjo · 26/05/2025 18:21

The bigger problem than 'food noise' is for me Food Responsibility. So DH has also been off Friday to today but the whole planning, shopping and cooking has fallen on me.
His suggestion was beans on toast but he finished up the bread with his doorstep sandwiches.
I really think Food Responsibility is a big reason for my weight gain.
Being updated on which cereals have run out
There's no fresh bread and can I get some more of that cheese
Being asked what's for dinner
No crisps apparently
Stopping gardening at 4pm to think about get dinner ready, put oven on
Check if dishwasher has run

And he absolutely does know that I'm off food, feel like morning sickness, trying to fit in protein rather than his carb heavy suggested things....
I need a HLI, a husband loss injection

QS90 · 26/05/2025 18:31

@DrMonjo Have separate dinners? Be responsible for your own eating, buy the food in you want, cook what you want. If husband isn't keen on what you've made, he can have beans on toast 🤷‍♀️
