I have the worst mental block with the spelling of this medication!! Almost did it wrong again but THINK it's correct now. Obviously 3rd time's the charm!!

Great work / losses / NSVs so far everyone!

After a couple of weeks at a plateau I lost 1.7kg this week. I wasn’t expecting it because my appetite has actually been better this week than before, and I’m definitely eating more calories than the last two weeks when I could barely eat. I wonder if my body was somehow hanging onto that weight because I was eating so little? Who knows. I’ll take it though.

SW: 91.4kg
CW: 78.6kg
GW: 65kg
Total lost: 12.8kg / 2 stone

Starting on 7.5mg today, fingers crossed for no SE!

wordywitch · 11/06/2025 07:54

@Squiffy01 The dainty wrist comment made me laugh! Love it. Just shows that you are losing inches even if it’s not showing up on the scale yet.

That's definitely a thing. I'm losing much quicker on 1400 than 1200 cals, but it's a struggle as my suppression is so strong 5 days a week.

I've found when I increase calories (slightly) I lose more too. Haven't has as much the past few days and stayed the same...

SeaDippingandLattes · 11/06/2025 09:53

Agh the side effects have got me again (I’m still on just 4mg per week) and last night was brutal. I’m bloody vegan as well so not exactly eating lots of rich foods. I ate some noodles, tofu for lunch and one piece of soreen with butter and that is all I could manage all day and it still came up. I’m not sure this mounjaro life is for me anymore 😂 will have to see how the next few days go….BRUtAL

Hey, absolutely fine 😀 Took the first dose last Thursday and no issues. Maybe felt slightly queezy on Friday for about an hour but just drank loads of water and it went away! Supression is good, and I have lost another 3lb since Thursday. Hope you get on ok 😊Keep us posted x

That’s great news @vl888

Still on 5 and no side effects for the second pen at this strength at all. Suppression is still good and I'm making healthy choices, despite introducing a few wines at the weekend in the sun but this is very moderated and not in excess and I'm not snacking like I would before! I'm really noticing my weight loss now and feeling like I'm getting my confidence back.

This happened to me too - I was not eating enough at all.

Have you thought about splitting the dose? There’s a few people on YouTube who are doing this - so 2.5mg every 4 days instead of 5mg weekly. They are continuing to lose weight with much less side effects.
im planning to do this next week. 😊 I’ll try to find some links if you are interested?

Squiffy01 · 11/06/2025 13:54

@wordywitch it is definitely showing on the scales but I just can’t see it.

SeaDippingandLattes · 11/06/2025 14:04

@Pepperwaggytail oh yes please!

QS90 · 11/06/2025 15:07

Are they losing weight at approximately the same rate @Pepperwaggytail ?

Summerbay23 · 11/06/2025 16:24

Yes please post here @Pepperwaggytail
It’s my first week at 5mg and I’ve had a horrendous head for 24 hours. I’ve drank loads (including electrolytes) had a reasonable amount of food. Loads of water and paracetamol. Yesterday I felt like I had cement in my stomach. Am hoping it improves as I need to function.

Pepperwaggytail · 11/06/2025 16:40

This lady is from the USA so their rules for prescribing mounjaro are a bit different. Their pens are different too from what I can gather. I also think she confuses micro dosing and split dosing (which is what I’m interested in) but she does do a fair amount of research before she posts.
It’s interesting reading about other people’s experience in the comments, and I guess we all have to make our own decisions about how we administer our own doses. There’s lots of other YouTube clips about this (split dosing often wrongly called micro dosing, and also lots of information about that!)
I’ll post more as and when I come across them.

I dropped to 4mg and changed to injecting in my thigh and that helped quite a bit. I also got some nausea tablet from med express which do help!

SeaDippingandLattes · 11/06/2025 18:31

@Pepperwaggytail does it go into the outside of the thigh or the inside (the fat bit with the stretch marks 😂)? X

I do the top of the thigh, right into the muscle. It doesn’t hurt.

wordywitch · 11/06/2025 20:54

I’ve definitely found that injection site makes a significant difference to how I feel. Belly makes me have way less appetite and more nausea, whereas thigh is gentler. I’m going to do mostly thigh from now on unless I’m starting to lose appetite suppression towards the end of a pen/dosage.

I did the same, belly was far too strong, mind you I was at W3 of the 5mg pen which seems to hit a lot of us hard.
I’m going to do 2.5mg every 4 days when I get back from holiday, and probably in the stomach.
I’m currently on D10 since I jabbed my last 4mg (just before holiday) and still got appetite suppression. I had salmon salad in the restaurant last night and could only manage half of it. However I did manage 3 glasses of wine!

PinkCatInATree · 12/06/2025 07:27

Growl, I was hoping to be down to 10kg gone at end of week 8 but didn't quite get there ... However I have managed the bonus dose so there is hope before the end of pen 2.

Regretting pen 3 being 2.5 now but when I ordered it I was enjoying steady loss and no side effects and a massive change in mindset.

Actually no, I have a huge month coming up - some big weekends and a significant birthday - so 2.5 and no side effects will be the right choice. But I am still twice the size and weight of woman I want to be!

SquishyGloopyBum · 12/06/2025 09:00

Week 9 and nothing lost this week. I was away at the weekend and on the wine though. Plus I did loose 4lbs the week before.

I’ve taken my first 5mg dose today (last 4 were 3.75) as I’m working away all next week so it’s going to be harder keeping the calories low.

I also got food noise yesterday for the first time since being on the jabs. It’s made me worried about maintenance long term but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. I’d almost forgotten how easy mounjaro makes it.

Curvyandstrongblondie · 12/06/2025 12:32

Weigh day this morning and only 1lb off this week but at just 6lb away from target I knew it would be slow now. My TDEE is 1600 cals and to loose 1lb a week I need to minus 500 off that and 2lb a week leaves me with only 600 cals per day, so it’s not possible. I’ll have to loose the next 6lb over 6 weeks!

Squiffy01 · 12/06/2025 13:26

Weigh and jab day for me, first jab of the third pen. And this week I managed to lose 3.9lbs

So for two pens (including their golden dose) I’m down 31lbs!!! 🎉

I am obviously super happy with the scales but why can’t I SEE it!!! Maybe I’ve just lost 2st of water weight 🤣

wordywitch · 12/06/2025 15:33

A friend who had previously been a bit judgey about WLIs, saying she ‘wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole’ (which is why I hadn’t shared with her that I’m on it) texted me today to say she ordered Mounjaro. After asking why the change of heart, she admitted she had been going off sensationalist headlines and had now done more research, plus her husband has been on them for a few weeks and seeing good results. I then finally felt comfortable to share that I’ve been on MJ for 10 weeks, the first person I’ve told besides my husband and daughter. It felt nice to be able to talk about it with her and she was a bit embarrassed about her previous ignorance.
