New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Evening all, just after a bit of advice. Im due to order my 3rd pen and I was wondering if anyone has done more than 2 months on 2.5? If so what was your 3rd month like? Would you recommend it?
I've lost 13 lbs in 7 weeks so really happy with my progress so far

I'm on my fourth month of 2.5. The third pe. was a slow but steady loss. This fourth one is very slow indeed appetite coming back eating toast feeling hungry and getting excited by food again. I habe half a stone to go. My starting weight was relatively low 27 bmi and I'm heading to 23 bmi. I am stubbornly sticking to 2.5 but I think if I had more to loose I might have gone up to 3.75 and then 5 and then tirated down.

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 03/06/2025 19:03

Happy Birthday @TheBossOfMeI hope that you had a throughly great day.

I have managed to get over the wedding and I am on a work trip today and staying in a hotel, although I have just gone into the restaurant to have something to eat and there are no tables until 8.45 tonight, thank god I am on MJ as before I would be starving now. I am taking that as a NSV.

I have another day of training tomorrow and then home.

I've got just over 5 stone still to go. But I really don't want to rush up the doses if its still coming off while im on the lower dose.
Congrats on being so close to goal!
I think I might do 1 more month on 2.5 and see how it goes.
Thank you for your help. Good luck on losing the rest of your weight

Just ordered my fourth 2.5 and won't change until I don't lose weight over a few weeks. I have really strong suppression still and up thread you'll read o lost over 3lbs this week so I'm happy.

GameOfJones · 04/06/2025 07:36

End of week 13 weigh in and I've lost 2lbs! So that 1lb gain from holiday has gone straight away once home and back on track which is brilliant. I've also hit the 2st loss mark which I'm absolutely delighted with!

Weight August 2024: 15st 1lb

SW on MJ: 14st

CW: 12st

GW: Under 11st.... probably 10st 7lbs to give me some wiggle room.

tryingtobesogood · 04/06/2025 07:50

I’ve been waiting a long time to post this. I record my weight in lbs but also in kgs and I’ve bounced around a significant milestone for ages.

SW 109.8
CW 99.65
GW 79

My next target is to fit into this dress hopefully by my birthday in a few months.

@tryingtobesogood. go you!!!

I’m doing one of the most professional things I do in my job today - think Westminster. Last night thought I’d get clothes out to reduce the morning rush… oh dear… trousers very reliant on belt, bra cups verging on ridiculous under my top (MUST get new bra!)… no loss last week but def changes! Lovely walking into things feeling more confident!

tryingtobesogood · 04/06/2025 09:14

@Aboutmeabouttime I'm with you on the bra situation, it's getting ridiculous. I do have some old ones at the back of a draw, might have to try them on. Have fun at your thing, hope it goes well

Flamethrowers · 04/06/2025 09:26

Well! I'm reporting back with health facts after 13 weeks on Mounjaro and the results are... impressive. Everything in my blood tests was normal or excellent (apart from a low iron uptake likely due to a month of diarrhea). My inflammation was right down in the excellent range, my cholesterol was down into the normal range for the first time since I don't know when, and everything else was just so much better than before!!! Not just good enough but really good. It's partly diet and partly exercise but all that anecdotal stuff about inflammation and no joint aches and no snoring as a result of it going down - now backed up by facts. It's a magic drug!

GiveMeWordGames · 04/06/2025 09:51

That's wonderful, @Flamethrowers! Just amazing how so many different things have improved by so much.

Fatmumslim01 · 04/06/2025 09:57

I haven't updated since last week I don't think.

Feeling a bit fed up 😞

Just got weighed this morning as weds is my usual weigh day and it's another week of staying the same so I'm 13-5 again. I expected it last week as was half term but I thought towards the end of the half term and this week I've been more strict with myself. Although yesterday I found the food noise creeping back in and I found myself absentmindedly picking at the kids leftovers which was really annoying. The past 3 days Ive had bigger dinner portions aswell they are creeping towards my pre MJ portions.

I'm disappointed ☹️ I know plateau's are normal but with so much still to lose I thought I'd be doing better than this

On a positive note though, on previous "diets" if I didn't lose weight one week I'd probably binge as I'd think what's the point in even trying but now although I'm disappointed, it's spurred me on to try even harder.

I'm thinking of calorie counting where I can, my tdee is something like 1700 I can't quite remember so realistically I need to be eating less than 1200 calories a day to lose weight.

I'm also thinking of going up to 7.5 although I've only just started my second 5mg pen last week 🙄 I was really hoping to stay on the lower doses as long as possible as I'm worried that if I go up to 7.5 on my next pen (in 4 weeks time) that will be half way through the doses and I'm now where near half way to goal

Lots to think about

Height 5 foot
SW 21st march 14-7
CW 13-5
GW 11-7 as mini target but really needs to be 9-7

PoundsLost · 04/06/2025 10:09

I’m also losing very slowly - 1st 4lbs lost and I’ve just done my 12th jab. I want to be under 14st so much but it’s still 7lbs away! I might be there by August. Even being under BMI of 30 would be good! Just got to keep plugging on.

FrozenFractal · 04/06/2025 11:35

Hi everyone, wondering if someone else is experiencing similar: I weigh myself every morning, scales are in pound so really sensitive/accurate. I jab on Friday night and noticed that pretty much every week my weight will be decreasing from Friday, as MJ levels build up, it will be lowest on Monday and start creeping back up from Tuesday as MJ levels decrease. Overall I’m still loosing and I don’t think my eating habits suddenly change in the second half of the week so I’m wondering what else is MJ doing, or not doing to me. Also wondering if I should go up to 7.5 but not sure I can cope with being more tired 😴

Chilldrill · 04/06/2025 11:37

I think we're all doing great, despite getting to the stage where a lot of us are plateauing and not losing at a great pace, I'm certainly not! A slow slog of around a pound a week.
SW on 13 March 12 7
CW 10 6
Goal 9 6
Only losing a bout a pound a week despite being very strict, The one thing I don't do enough of is exercise, 😐. So maybe I ought to pick up that a bit.
To people picking at leftovers, I have a tip that someone gave me years ago, which was to put washing up liquid all over it as soon as the kids finish, I also do it to my own food once I've finished, stops picking which can add up!
Keep going everyone! my NSV was finding some lovely boden jeans in my local charity shop in 12!!! Ffs. I bought them thinking maybe...... and they fit🎉🎉😂
Not since my twenties have I been in a 12.
Aches, pains and inflammation all reduced, sleeping well and alcohol free.

I’m the opposite, start the week up for 2 days then stabilises back and tend to loose the last 2-3 days , been moving my MJ jab around the last 3 weeks and it hasn’t impacted it just the scale numbers has moved with it.

I’ve been on around 6 mg the last 5 weeks and going up to 7.5 mg tonight as I fighting a plateau last few weeks and need a boost again

Bipaloss · 04/06/2025 11:42

@Fatmumslim01 , @PoundsLost @Chilldrill I’m with you thought I crack my plateau last week and came back from a long weekend unchanged and feel this week again gonna remain same , have another 4st to loose so it’s frustrating

split last jab 5 times to average of 6mg a jab , starting 7.5 mg tonight and going up to 10mg in 4 weeks , want to shed another st before 19th July !

@Bipaloss how interesting that it’s literally the opposite for you! I’ve ordered another 5mg pen but will use it for 4x 6mg doses and see if it makes a difference. And maybe up to 7.5 after that.

soupforbrains · 04/06/2025 18:28

@Bipaloss@FrozenFractal
interesting I’m like Bipa. Mine is slightly up at the start of the week and then drops later. Early on I kept worrying I was going to have a gain and then never did.

I had some constipation this week for the first time really. And tried gentle treatments first but after 4 days and serious discomfort I eventually took dulcolax last night. Which has definitely cleared it all up this morning albeit somewhat explosively and accompanied by enough gas to inflate a hot air balloon.

despite the constipation my weight is trending down again this week (even before the er… clear out) and I’m on track to have lost the gain I had last week which is lovely.

i increased my split does from 24 to 30 clicks on my 5mg pen so given I dose twice a week ive increased from 4mg to 5mg. I will take one more 2.5 dose from the golden dose in this pen and I’ve just ordered my 7.5mg pen for the next lot so that I can continue to titrate my dose upwards if I feel the need.

lovely to see everyone’s progress and NSVs, sorry so many are experiencing plateaus, don’t lose faith I’m sure you’l break through and then be rolling again soon.

TheBossOfMe · 04/06/2025 19:07

Catching up - really lovely to see the losses and NSVs, especially your test results @Flamethrowers , that's amazing. And for those who are plateauing, remember that's a really normal part of this journey. I'm definitely likely to plateau for a bit now because this was my normal weight for a long time, so getting past this is likely to be a bit of a battle. I can almost feel my body holding onto that set weight - the theory is real!

@soupforbrains I have a very similar reaction to dulcolax! Interestingly for the first time since starting MJ, I'm experiencing a bit of constipation (which for me is just going every other morning rather than every morning). I'm upping my psyllium husk to deal with it for now because I absolutely don't want the dulcolax to be needed! 4 days and I'd give in though.

Split dose still working well for me - 7.5 taken in a 5/2.5 split. I still don't have suppression per se, I could eat anything put in front of me, but feel full more easily (albeit with a delay), and am slowly recognising what the point is that I should stop eating to avoid feeling overly full later and not able to sleep. Still taking photos of all my meals so I can refer back to them, they'll be a useful reminder once I start titrating down and probably eventually off MJ.

having a low evening. Having taken a full length photo for a new order and realise I still look so big. I don't seem to see it day to day.i know it's a long haul and I've lost 2 stone 4 pounds,but.. still 3.5 stone to go to get to an I inirial goal. It's hard sometimes 🥺

Hey @popdepop .

Snap tbh!

I took pics a few days ago as I like to take pics at the end of each pen to check progress and although I'm 16 pounds down I can't see the difference. I'm wearing the same clothes in all my pics like literally the same clothes and I look the same tbh. I think in daily life I don't think I look too bad in the mirror but when I look at a picture I'm like oh bloody hell!

DH says he can see the difference but I can't.

Realistically I've got 4 stone to go. It feels like a mountain!

Sending unmumsnetty hugs, and we are all in this together!

Yes I know the feeling. I also think if I look like this now, how did I look 2 stone heavier! photos are awful. I know I need to think of the positives. No way would I have lost without MJ. NSV today, someone commented on my weight loss. Hold on in there, I read about the paper towel effect, as we keep losing in the lower stones, it will be more noticeable. I'm also really tired. Burnout and maybe MJ/ menopause. I might have a bath an admire the legs I can see now my stomach has reduced 😂

TheBossOfMe · 04/06/2025 21:25

@popdepop @Fatmumslim01 I honestly think it takes a while for our brains and eyes to catch up. Plus I think if I’m honest with myself, the clothes that I was wearing at top end of weight were all stretchy so stretched and shrunk with me, if that makes sense. Don’t despair - it’s a journey but one that you’re doing so well on.

soupforbrains · 04/06/2025 22:05

@TheBossOfMewell quite! I did try psyllium and then assorted natural dietary aids like prune juice and stewed rhubarb etc. I also have an intolerance to onions so added some of those to my dinner on Monday night but no movement so had to resort to the extreme. I do feel an awful lot better now though!

@popdepopand @Fatmumslim01im the same. I’m thrilled with the progress on the scale and NSVs like fitting into clothes I didn’t before and mg watch strap being loose. But in the mirror I still just look ginormous. And really I am by most people’s standards. I’ve lost 2stone 4lbs like you Pop, but I still have 6 more stone to go so it’s a long old slog. Sometimes I wonder how many of you will even be with me here in this lonely chat thread by the time I’m nearing my goal! So I just Lee focussing on the scale and the health benefits and remind myself of all the things I will enjoy doing when I eventually get there. Or even nearly there.

we’ve all got this. MJ is the consistent support we’ve all needed to just get us over these humps and to where we want to be.
