New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

I've posted a seperate thread, but asking here too. Anyone know what OMO is? I've got a £66 subscription charge. No idea what it's for, don't have an "omo" app. Googling suggests a weight/health management service.

What have I unwittingly signed up for?? Last ordered from Oushk but paid full price. Otherwise used medexpress.

If you have a look at the 1* reviews on Trustpilot it looks like a scam. But most people had signed up for a free trial of the app before getting stung:

uk.trustpilot.com/review/omo-app.io?stars=1

Query it with your bank?

I will have to contact the bank. I definitely haven't signed up for any fitness/health app for £66! If I sign up for a free trial I always set a reminder to cancel, but have no Omo app installed

TheBossOfMe · 24/05/2025 11:11

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine Ouch!

@Bipaloss Oh I missed that on GMB, really interesting. Thanks! I don't think cold turkey is the right option for me at all - plus I know from the two previous weight loss journeys I've been on before as well as my post baby-weight loss, that I actually need to get to 2lb below goal, because I always bounce. So 3lb to target is actually 5lb to allow for that. I don't think that bounce will be different on MJ. If it doesn't happen, then great, but I'll give myself that headroom.

Yetanotherusername2000 · 24/05/2025 12:02

Really interesting that a few of us are starting to consider maintenance. My friend from work has stretched out to every 10-12 days on 2.5.

I’ve got about another stone to go, but then I’m wondering about keeping a 5mg pen but dosing every 10 days at lower counting the clicks. I can’t quite work it out yet, but I would be devastated to pile it back on.

my family are commenting on how much water I drink but that’s about it!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 24/05/2025 12:19

I'd also be devastated to pile it back on. I am getting used to feeling a bit of hunger and food noise and am still only on 3.75 . Jab day is tomorrow, and I'll be using the "extra" dose from my 5mg pen. Unsure whether to stick at 3.75. I have another 5mg ready to start.

RuthEvershedforPM · 24/05/2025 12:26

I’d decided I wasn’t going shopping until a reached healthy weight - but nothing fits so schlepped into town. A long way to go but two months ago I was literally obese. One hell of an NSV is being in Zara without crying

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine Re needing to get used to a bit of hunger and food noise as you approach goal, that's exactly why I dialled down from 7.5mg. The suppression was so high that I didn't feel hungry at all, and I know when I was at my slim weight or on lower doses, I regularly felt hungry as meal times approached. So I'm trying to find the balance between having enough suppression that I'm not tempted to gorge on large portions (which was my weakness) but not having so much that I'm relying on that alone and not re-educating my brain/mouth/stomach about what a normal diet needs to look like for me.

@Aboutmeabouttime I've been lurking on that thread as well, and the one thing that jumps out is there isn't a single answer, it's different for everyone. So when I get there it will need to be about finding the approach that works for me.

@RuthEvershedforPM You look fab - I particularly love the second outfit! Zara is brutal because their sizing is so bloody inconsistent, I regularly have a temper tantrum in their dressing rooms 😂

RuthEvershedforPM · 24/05/2025 12:45

I was supposed to buy one thing for my holiday and a couple of things for work - two bags of holiday stuff and some new makeup 🙄🙄 should probably go and find a couple of smart dresses before going home.

thanks @TheBossOfMe xx

Please tell me what I’m doing wrong!!
5 weeks at 2.5mg steady loss just over a stone happy with that. 5 weeks at 3.75mg 6lb loss ok with that but as it began to taper off last couple of doses of 3.75 went up to 5 had 2 x 5mg. So in the last 4 weeks 2 x 3.75 2 x 5 I’ve bounced up/down/up/down 🤬 weigh in today and a 2lb GAIN !!!!! I’m drinking plenty excercise down ever so slightly last 2-3 weeks due to work commitments but nothing that would make me gain! Food suppression lessened last couple of 3.75mg but made right choices, back to very good on 5mg as is the food noise. I’ve feel like I’ve wasted over £100 to do what I was doing before mj. Awaiting a woosh but it’s not coming!!!! I have the coil so don’t have a period ( if I do very light) tracking calories and under every week!! Never have been very regular eating prunes and kiwis and averaging once a week ( before mj was around 2/3 times a week) . If I compare my weight today to I’m like 2 ounces down! Feel like giving up Help!
feel like giving up!

TryForSpring · 24/05/2025 15:38

You need to get your bowels moving for a start, @Flaitch. Psyllium with plenty of water every day. Magnesium supplements. And then suppositories if you need them. Not everyone can do it on kiwis and prunes. I certainly can't.

Alternatively laxido and lots of water.

TryForSpring · 24/05/2025 15:42

You could easily lose 2lb by clearing your constipation, probably considerably more if you’re only going once a week.

Edited

Unfortunately laxido doesn’t work for me . Wasn’t allowed to leave hospital after having my child (3rd degree tear) until I’d been. They were trying everything 🤣 I think I’ll buy psyllium. I drink approx 3 litres of water a day. Thanks for the advice 🥰

TryForSpring · 24/05/2025 16:26

Seems everyone needs to find the right combination for them, @Flaitch.

I’m using this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Psyllium-Produced-Beverages-Vegetarian-NATURALEBIO/dp/B07L9WJ4P2?ref_=ast_sto_dp

or you can get capsules. I found it made it slightly worse at first but I think I wasn’t having enough water with it. Find it essential now.

These are expensive but are designed for constipation and I was desperate when I bought them and they worked:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/nbpure-Oxygen-Digestive-Cleanser-Capsules/dp/B000Z93IAU?ref_=ast_sto_dp

And these are very helpful:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Care-Glycerin-Suppositories-Occasional-Constipation/dp/B071KCN9FQ?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1

This is the nuclear option. I learnt to only use half of one 💥

It’s a plateau just be patient and keep what you doing. I’m only saying because I am exactly where you are bouncing up and down 2 lb the last almost 3 weeks

my weight is exactly where I was 2020-2022 and believe it’s a new set weight

did 6.25 last week and again today both after 6 days and today is the first time in 3 weeks I feel fullness again so hoping it’s moving again. Next week I’m doing the dose after 5 days before moving up to 7.5 for 4 weeks and then straight to 10 mg no matter what

like you I’m averaging 1-2 times a week and do feel that I need a dulcolax cleanse

don’t give up it will move eventually

TheBossOfMe · 24/05/2025 17:56

@Flaitch That sounds very like a plateau - I had one for three weeks where I just bounced up and down a bit. It's really normal, and as @Bipaloss says, it's probably a set weight and the next drop will come soon. But definitely try to get things going - once a week probably isn't very good for you!

Puddingpiper · 24/05/2025 19:24

@Flaitchare you tracking weight daily I find it really helps to see that it is trending in the right direction also I can see patterns where I retain water which affects my weight. I weigh daily but only record when I have a loss on the Shotsy app. How many calories are you aiming for per day? Are you getting your protein in?

Flaitch · 24/05/2025 20:46

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Like I say never really been “regular” went to the doctors probably about 30 years ago about it to be told that’s just the way you are🤷🏼‍♀️ unlike my oh who could easily go 2x a day 😛 so I’ve ordered psyllium🤞🏼I already take magnesium.
@Puddingpiper i wasn’t weighing daily, but when I slowed started weighing every 2nd ish day. Typo in my last post - so in the last 4 weeks I’ve bounced from 11.10.6 to 11.10.4 today so a great loss of 2ozs! Lowest in that time was 11.8.3. Trying to only record my lowest weight of the week in Shotsy and noting when I’ve been to the toilet. Thing is I don’t feel constipated. So 💩 on the 22nd, 17th, 13th and before that the the 1st😱 🫢 Looking at that this is where I think my issues lie. I’ve lots of protein daily, Greek yogurt chicken fish cheese etc.
I track on mfp and on a positive I was last this weight in early 2021 through to end of 2022. So maybe my body thinks this is my weight? I aim for 1400 calories a day as tdee calculates 1613. After adding in my exercise this usually averages at 1300/1200 a day.
hopefully when I check in again I’ve not spent the week on the toilet 😂 love this for all your support and suggestions 😍
hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Tormundsbeard · 24/05/2025 22:39

Had a happy moment in Uniqlo yesterday. So used to buying XL size everything, I couldn’t believe I was buying size M pyjamas!

TheBossOfMe · 25/05/2025 00:09

@Flaitch That sounds very like a set weight plateau so have faith and keep going. Plus a bit of constipation!

@Tormundsbeard Oh wow, that's a fab NSV.

I've eaten far too much tonight - low carb food intake and a lot of veg but also a lot of wine so not that low carb at all 😫Think I'll be bouncing a bit over the next couple of days.

soupforbrains · 25/05/2025 00:50

I am so in awe of so many of your clothes related NSVs. Obviously I’m thrilled with my loss so far and I am definitely smaller, clothes looser etc. but I still have such a long way to go and I’m still very overweight so the concept of being able to fit into almost any clothes in any ‘proper’ brand high street shop is still a stretch for me. Let alone coming down to sizes that don’t start with at least 2 Xs.

still it’s like the old joke. How do you eat an elephant?

one bite at a time.

Flamethrowers · 25/05/2025 07:07

end of week 12 on 2.5 mg
sw around 73.8
cw: 65.80
gw: 61kg 23 bmi

first gain this week of 1.5 lbs (i was trying to maintain this week but clearly overshot!).

this is because I eat more - I had gnochi once and a full vegetarian English and chocolate. It is very very very easy to gain is what I have discovered! it doesn't take much food. Makes me anxious for the future.

I went to buy a new pair of trousers as my only pair of trousers split up the arse getting into the car - and discovered I am now a 14 on the bottom and a 12 on top - last time I was here was ten years ago. the size 14 dresses are definitely loose. Everyone now keeps telling me I look better, 'slender', healthy. I certainly feel less sluggish. The excercise and Pilates really helps. I do feel anxious though - I look at my friends apparently inevitable weight gain after a huge and hard won loss last year and feel panic.

other anxieties.

  • My body is getting used to this low dose. I think I'm adapting which makes me fear what happens when I come off it (if 2.5 is my new normal).
  • I am also really aware that this drug has smoothed out my adhd - which is ironic as I spent so long vehemently not taking adhd medication! (That said it feels different from Ritalin which I tried a few times and seemed only to amplify my intensity).
  • I discovered I am STILL very low ferretin stores - despite taking iron supplementation. I don't know why but I think there must be an issue around iron absorption (all the explosive poo). I'd say to anyone with a bad stomach and a tendency towards low iron to check your levels if you're feeling fatigued even if you are supplementing.
  • Re snoring. I just found out that six months ago the FDA (us regulator) approved Mounjaro for moderate sleep apnea in people who are obese. See us snorers aren't making it up!!!!

i hope everyone is well and feeling strong on this steady march.

needtolose70lb · 25/05/2025 08:09

Thank you for all the support on set weights/plateaus. I had the same weigh in for 6 days and now 2 consecutive losses.

I didn’t panic, I didn’t say fuck it and buy a family bag of chocolate buttons to binge on, not did I drown a bottle of wine each night. My usual response in previous diets.

i am also over the moon to be under 200lb for the first time in years. 41.4lb down so far!

Good morning all

Thank you for your kind words the wedding was absolutely epic and everyone had an amazing time, lots of happy tears.

I have not been able to catch up with all the posts.

I did not inject on Friday as I wanted to eat the wonderful food, but MJ did me dirty and I could not eat a thing!
