I've done holidays and fancy dinners with MJ and it does help. Still enjoy my food but will make better choises.

Jins · 13/05/2025 09:16

Well done @Zempy The MJ doesn’t know that you’re on holiday so it’ll keep doing its thing.

Couple of wins for me today. The ‘gains’ over the weekend have come off overnight giving me my single biggest overnight loss of 1.2lbs. This puts me back on my regression line of losses on the MYweight app at 9st 7.6

Biggest win and fabulous NSV is even better. On the final countdown to my holiday on Friday and decided to tidy my bikini line as you do. Fellow losers, I can see what I’m doing for the first time in about 6 years!!!! There’s still plenty of belly fat but this is an immense win

Have you seen this thread @0ncemorewithfee1ing

Thank you so much @DGonMJ , really appreciate it.

Had my pre-operative assessment today. I had asked about MJ last week when they gave me the appointment and they said ‘ask at your pre-op’. So I asked. The nurse went a bit loopy and said ‘you shouldn’t be taking that! You need to stop at least a week before surgery. Who gave it to you? Your GP?’ When I said I bought it through a private dispensary she said ‘I think you need to stop that. It’s dangerous’. Like I’m buying it from some dodgy fecker on Facebook marketplace or something. Not what I was expecting.
On the plus side though, the hospital scales weighed me at 13 stone.

mince3point14159265 · 13/05/2025 13:52

Omg @Polkadotdash ! The amount of dodgy information out there even in the medical profession is astounding! Could you ask to speak to someone more senior with better knowledge of mj/wli's and their possible impact on your surgery/anaesthesia? Wishing you luck with the surgery & congrats on the scales victory! 🤞

HeavyHeidi · 13/05/2025 14:05

@Polkadotdash OMG really.
I know doctors and nurses can't know everything, but really, this is ridiculous. Those are approved medications for your condition, indeed not like you're buying crack.
Reminds me when I was pregnant and kept exercising. There is so much information available about safety and benefits of exercise when pregnant. I was also told repeatedly by medical professionals that I should do some light walking and pregnancy yoga instead - no particular reason, just because, surely weighlifting can't be safe.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 13/05/2025 15:38

Afternoon everyone! It seems even right towards the end of the week MJ is causing certain things to totally disagree with me. I had a tine of tomato soup for dinner last night and I've had such an upset tummy within about an hour, through the night and much of today. Who'd have thought something pretty innocuous like tomato soup could have such an effect!
I did a sneaky early weigh this morning and I was 0.2lbs up on my Friday weight, hopefully gone by official weigh day tomorrow and not so bad for a few days away.

MananaPenelope · 13/05/2025 17:03

@0ncemorewithfee1ing I might be joining you on the other thread. I’ve lost and gained the same kg for a month. Frustrating.

@Polkadotdash I haven’t spoken to a supportive consultant, Dr, nurse yet. In fact I didn’t mention it yesterday, I’m past caring what anyone thinks. I know it might be different in your case as you’re having surgery but it is frustrating isn’t it.

I’m not feeling anything today on 5mg. How weird after 3.75kg affected me so much before. I had a poke bowl at lunchtime and that’s all I’ve eaten today but that’s no different to a day without MJ, I always bring the graze things from a meal deal home and put them in the cupboard of snacks for hollow legged young people.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 13/05/2025 11:25

Thank you so much @DGonMJ , really appreciate it.

Will be joining you. I'm in the slower lane. I'm also I'm quite a body neutral person and don't want to start to feel bad about where I've been, where I am and where I may end up. Just here for a slightly easier life 😊

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 13/05/2025 17:58

I have to have a general anaesthetic for a “procedure” at the end of the month. Hadn’t occurred to me that I might be told not to take MJ. Pre-assessment is tomorrow so I guess I’ll find out.

MananaPenelope · 13/05/2025 18:12

Fingers crossed @0ncemorewithfee1ing .

Polkadotdash · 13/05/2025 18:37

@0ncemorewithfee1ing let me know what they say to you about MJ.

MananaPenelope · 14/05/2025 07:13

Another share token from the Times, 🤞I get it right

BreezyPeer · 14/05/2025 07:50

Woo hoo! So we'll be a healthy weight and live longer healthier lives! That's a positive newspaper report to start the day.
I've hit a real plateau, my first proper sticking point. Weigh day is tomorrow so I'll have to see if I have lost by then. Might up my dose tomorrow too. On 5mg and have been doing well but it does seem to be waning.

BreezyPeer · 14/05/2025 07:52

Just checked, and after 10 weeks on 3.75mg I have only been on 5mg for 3 weeks so I need to stick it out for another week at least.

MananaPenelope · 14/05/2025 07:59

Plateau you say @BreezyPeer 😩. Look at this, no idea 🤷‍♀️, that’s a whole month 😱.

I think you win the plateau award @MananaPenelope

Do you feel suppressed? What’s your average calorie intake?

Well done for persevering.

HeavyHeidi · 14/05/2025 08:04

wow @MananaPenelope that's some inmpressive sticky point. But your body must give up sticking at some point.

BlueLimes · 14/05/2025 08:07

I’m also at a stocking point, so frustrating as I’ve struck to 1300 calories and increased my exercise.
Anyway no loss this week - sigh.
CW 10.3 and a half.
Dose 12.5mg

Thanks so much for replying about exercise, walking, strength regimes. Really helpful 😊

MananaPenelope · 14/05/2025 08:08

I’m eating 7000 cals a week max. Essentially I’ve cut out one meal a day. Healthy homemade food generally, very few carbs, no bread, pasta once a week. Lots of fish, a bit of chicken, no meat twice a week. No cheese other than pecorino now and then on something.

I’ve been eating 1200-1500 cals a day for nearly three years before this. No weight gain, no weight loss either.

Could be more active I guess, I’m cycling or walking daily but not much more as I’m knackered when I’ve been to work.

MananaPenelope · 14/05/2025 08:08

Oh, and I’ve just gone up to 5mg, on Monday.

BlueLimes · 14/05/2025 08:12

Really frustrating for you @MananaPenelope

You're doing well persevering as are @0ncemorewithfee1ing @Polkadotdash

MananaPenelope · 14/05/2025 08:12

A four week snapshot. I’m really diligent about weighing and logging food.

DGonMJ · 14/05/2025 08:34

@MananaPenelope looks like you’re doing everything on the ‘calories in’ side, only thing I can think to suggest is maybe adding some weights/resistance to your weekly movement. An experienced PT might be able to help you build muscle slowly in a way that doesn’t add any stress.
