Wishing you all the best for today's check up @MananaPenelope 🤞

MananaPenelope · 12/05/2025 12:46

🙏 thank you, all is well. 😅 relieved, not that anything has changed for me - just routine, but I don’t think I’ll ever stop dreading a scan result appointment.

3mg gives me the most terrible indigestion, I can feel it within a really short timeframe. I’m doubling up on omeprazole as Ouskh suggested for three days to see if that helps.

2025istheyeari · 12/05/2025 13:47

So good to hear, what a relief for you @MananaPenelope and hope the indigestion disappears soon, you don’t need that!

Jins · 12/05/2025 14:01

Great news @MananaPenelope. Really happy to hear it.

HeavyHeidi · 12/05/2025 14:57

Of course you must be relieved @MananaPenelope No news is great news.

HeavyHeidi · 12/05/2025 15:00

Discovered something interesting. One of the prescribers I use over here has updated their guidelines and eligibility on their website. It still has the BMI over 30, over 27 with certain conditions. But now they have also added: People who have difficulty losing weight despite dieting and exercising.
So sounds like they would be happy to prescribe it also for people with lower BMI. Off label then I guess.

MJalltheway · 12/05/2025 15:45

I think I'm the opposite to most of you, I'm an extrovert and much prefer organised exercise classes to doing anything on my own! I've only recently been building up my exercise levels after years of firstly battling pernicious anaemia and then years of battling injuries!
so this week I'm doing Zumba tonight, aquafit tomorrow, a core/fitball class on Wednesday, clubbercise on Friday. And at the weekend I try and do a kettlebell or similar workout at home. I might have to adjust because sometimes 3 classes in a row is too much for me.
at some point I want to fit some swimming in! I love being in the water but am a crap swimmer but I've found somewhere locally who does adult swimming lessons so I'm going to sign up for those at some point, maybe over the summer.

HeavyHeidi · 12/05/2025 16:34

I love group fitness (I'm qualified to teach several classes, including Zumba :D although I don't do most of them very often).
I like them tough though and never got into pilates/yoga or anything that has relaxation in its name.

MJalltheway · 12/05/2025 17:14

I do need some sports bra help though! I have the M&S Good move sports bra, very very happy with it BUT I desperately need another one in a slightly smaller size. And M&S still aren't taking online orders 😭
Ive been stalking Vinted and eBay for one but nothing has come up in my size. Any recommendations? Has to be wire-free! I'm around a 36 GG/H

tinyemmy · 12/05/2025 17:42

In my 20s I went to the gym every week day, cardio. It was my routine. I skipped breakfast had a normal lunch and dinner and drank like a fish. If I needed to lose a few pounds I'd calorie count. In my 30s I took up running because it was cheaper than the gym, otherwise same principle. I started to explore weight training in my late 30s and was alternating running and weight training working out 6 days per week when lockdown hit. I struggled big time with injuries.
I've had a PT a number of times to help with weights workouts and to lose weight, but I didn't lose any weight.
Now (44) I aim for 10,000 steps per day on average, I haven't run for months due to a knee injury. I do martial arts 2-3 times per week and I do a strength workout once a week. I sometimes do a short strength workout at home.

I'm toying with moving my jab during maintenance so I can eat more at the weekend. I will see how my holiday goes the week after next and what my eating pattern is like and base it on that.

@MJalltheway I really like this one, no wires

Thanks all, ‘no evidence of disease’ is BIG news. Hadn’t told anyone I was going, still haven’t apart from on here. Everyone would be worrying and asking me about it. Thank god it’s over until next year.

Probably why I had a glass of 🍾 yesterday, stress. The bottle had been on the fridge since December, no one drinks here. I’ll end up freezing it in ice cubes for cooking!

MJalltheway · 12/05/2025 20:01

Fantastic news @MananaPenelope 🍾 definitely worth another glass to celebrate!

DGonMJ · 12/05/2025 20:48

Wonderful update @MananaPenelope you must feel very relieved!

Very interesting to read about everyone’s approach to exercise - whether structured or not, classes or PTs, 10k steps walking the dog or cycling to work. We all eventually find a way to move in a way that makes us feel better. I quite like having someone tell me what to do, it takes away the responsibility of decision-making.

I’ve just come home from work and eaten a massive slice of homemade frittata - feta, spinach, chorizo and potato. Clearly having an ‘enjoying food day’ today!

MananaPenelope · 12/05/2025 20:50

Better not@MJalltheway, I’ve got raging indigestion after today’s jab 😂. I have excelled myself though and ordered a new watch. I have several nice watches, absolutely the last thing I need, but I like watches.

Roundbale · 12/05/2025 20:55

Same. I also didn't believe it could be possible I'm now small so took a few parcels to convince me

Wonderful news @MananaPenelope! Enjoy your new watch!

BlueLimes · 12/05/2025 22:11

Fantastic update @MananaPenelope enjoy your new watch.

Will catch up on the exercise posts tomorrow - so interesting !

Zempy · 13/05/2025 07:10

So pleased for you @MananaPenelope.

I am one pound away from being a healthy BMI and am feeling a little worried about New York trip. Usually, a holiday is an excuse (like we need one) to eat even more than usual. I know I will still enjoy it. I guess I am scared I will sabotage myself and set myself back a couple of weeks when I have worked so hard to get here.

I think I just have to trust in the medication to do it’s thing and protect me from myself 😜

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 13/05/2025 07:19

@MananaPenelope That must be a relief, definitely worth a glass of something and a present to yourself to mark the occasion.

I remember how anxious I used to get going to appointments with my husband so I totally get it.

MananaPenelope · 13/05/2025 07:20

Thanks. @Zempy well done that’s incredible 🏆. I must advise my travel insurer. . You’ve reminded me to do that. I hope you have a fab break.

I’ve gone up to 5mg! Split the dose with 3mg one day and 2mg the next. I did it because my acid reflux is under control with 2 x omeprazole so I thought what the heck!

I’ll have two doses in my pen when I go away for three weeks which is perfect as that’s all I’ll need, third dose due the day I get home.

MananaPenelope · 13/05/2025 07:23

Thank you @0ncemorewithfee1ing , it’s a big deal isn’t it. I didn’t want to tell the kids or my elderly parents, one of my siblings is on a big holiday and my best friend has just become a granny…. I decided I’d just get on with it. Next year is the five year check up. Huge milestone in my head.

As wonderful as it is to read how well everyone is doing, does anyone know of a thread for very slow losers? I’m on week 16 and I’ve not yet lost a stone. I’ll want to continue reading all the updates on here, but it’s so alien to my own experience.

Have you seen this thread @0ncemorewithfee1ing
