@meatyryvita 🤣🤣🤣 I have a pair of jeans like that!!

So, I made my husband remeasure my height today after telling me a few weeks ago I'd shrunk by 1.5inches. it was annoying me, so I got him to mark my height on a wall with a pencil as if I was 5 years old.

Turns out I haven't 🙄 and I'm a massive 156cms. Which also means Im now finally in healthy BMI. I mean, I already was, I just didn't know it. So, NSV sort of today.

I'm 156cm too! 🙌 (in all previous attempts I'd always said I was 5'2" but sadly I'm not and meant that instead of 9st 10 for a healthy weight. I needed to get to 9st 7 to be healthy! And in fact I always thought it was 9st 12 or 11 so quite a bit more if a difference) 🤣

HeavyHeidi · 04/06/2025 17:59

my fellow losers, I've said it before but I need to say it again: don't go all crazy clothes shopping when you're close to goal, but want to lose just a bit more. I was picking out my work clothes for tomorrow, started trying on other things and..90% of my wardrobe is in Vinted pile now. When bigger, it took a lot before I went down a size, but now I seem to be shrinking with every gram lost.

All the nice dresses I have not been able to wear for many summers because they were too tight on my rolls are now not comfortably loose, like I imagined, but hanging off me like sacks - won't even need a tent to go camping, wardrobe doubles as emergency shelter.

Polkadotdash · 04/06/2025 18:44

@HeavyHeidi i didn’t heed your advice on the way home and I BOUGHT SOME ZARA JEANS! They are a size 44/16 (but as we know with Zara that doesn’t mean anything) but what is important is that three months ago I couldn’t even get the biggest size 46/18 they had to do up. I tried the same style on again in the 44 and they fitted me on the waist but was hanging off my bum. So I actually bought a different style. But still. I got the jeans! 🥳

Polkadotdash · 04/06/2025 19:03

*were not was. That’s trying to type without my glasses on.

Zempy · 04/06/2025 19:35

Congratulations @Polkadotdash!! It’s a great feeling when you realise that zip is actually going to go up!!

Weird thing for me is that since the weight loss, my slightly big V neck clothes are horribly “booby”.

Now you might think that’s not surprising for someone who had a 34H Chest (now 32 G or GG) but I was always very careful not to expose too much boobage. I guess as there is less fat to fill my tops, the fabric is dropping and drooping, resulting in an even bigger Vinted pile. Hopefully this makes sense to someone…

I am going to drop my prices this weekend and then just take what hasn’t sold to charity bin. I clearly have no idea what the average Vinted wants. Items I think are great go unsold and barely viewed. Things I think are horrific are snapped up full price.

Anyway, early night tonight as stupidly early start tomorrow.

Polkadotdash · 04/06/2025 20:13

@Zempy It’s a real mystery as to what sells and what doesn’t on Vinted. I’ve had some beautiful kids stuff on there, barely worn and it’s not even had one like. Other stuff flies out. Some of my tops are making my boobs look awful and saggy now that they don’t fit. I haven’t gone down a cup size (still an ff) but I’ve kind of lost volume off my cleavage. More things to sell then. Although I do worry that my losses won’t last and in a couple of months I will regret selling my bigger sizes.

discov · 04/06/2025 20:14

Ooh @Polkadotdash that is fab! Even at my lowest pre-MJ weight (11st 7) I was always borderline too fat for Zara. I am 2st lighter than that now so could probably shop there.

I am definitely heeding the advice and waiting to drop at least another half a stone to take me down to 9st before buying anything. I am desperate for clothes though! I have a pair of size 10 jeans from Vinted which fit, and a couple of size 8 leggings for dog walking. All my tops are massive and hang off me in a not very stylish oversized way now. My bras are doing nothing for me and I can’t even describe how bad my knickers look!! I guess it’s a nice problem to have.

I have no idea what my ‘style’ is any more or what would even suit me. I am 34 so still relatively young, work in a creative job and live in a bit of a hipster area so I’m always surrounded by cool people. I feel a bit 5 years ago in my cropped mom jeans, graphic tee and trainer combos. My 11yo dd said my outfit was ‘millennial core’ this morning and not in a good way 😂 I’d never go to a personal shopper type thing as I think they will try and dress me all Mumsy which just isn’t me at all. Maybe I just need to take a day to go real life shopping and try loads of stuff on?! I wouldn’t even know where to start!

MJalltheway · 04/06/2025 20:16

I agree, Vinted is odd in what sells and what doesn't! I've got one item which has hundreds of views, loads of likes, is brand new and very reasonably priced and it's been languishing on there for ages! I'm going to drop the price again just to get rid of it.

just got back from Bodypump again, can hardly move my arms 😂

no loss this week at all so far but as expected with the meals out and birthday cake. Hoping for a bit of a drop before official weigh day on Friday.

Friends at work have now started commenting on the weight loss. Although I haven't told them about MJ, they know about all the other stuff I've been doing, cutting out UPFs, no snacks except fruit and nuts, hugely increasing exercise.

Thelittlestranger · 04/06/2025 20:48

I went shopping at Zara two weeks ago and was having to buy small. So weird. I bought a pair of medium denimy jogger type trousers and have realised I need to take them back as they are too big. I feel like I moved through the medium and large size without ever wearing them. Mind boggling.

HeavyHeidi · 04/06/2025 21:31

I feel a tiny bit bad when I tell people about apps I use and how I'm eating less and all that. It's true, but MJ of course helps. But no I don't want my entire workplace discussing my medications.

2025istheyeari · 04/06/2025 21:46

Thanks @DGonMJ and @mince3point14159265, so odd that it’s week22 and first week it’s happened!!

@HeavyHeidi love your ‘10kg is nothing’ quip to the doc🤣. Hope you get a date soon and that they can sort you out.

10mg doesn’t seem to be doing much for me, I think I’m hungrier than I was on 7.5!!

good luck on the Vinted clear outs, I’m having mixed luck and having a cull of my Vinted listings this weekend too, anything that’s been on for longer than a month will be added to the charity bag. I have made a fair bit though so def worth it but hard gauging prices!!

HeavyHeidi · 04/06/2025 21:57

@2025istheyeari was a bit of a challenge to squeeze it between holidays, weddings, various trips, concerts and work events, but yes we agreed on 5th of August. Not looking forward to not being allowed to exercise but oh well. Hopefully just a few weeks.

Polkadotdash · 04/06/2025 22:39

@discov ’millennial core’ 🤣 ouch what a burn from an 11 year old!!!
I think dressing in your 30s is really tricky. You’re not slavishly following youth culture fads but also you’re not into the mumsy stuff that the shops push at you either. I must admit, I still dress like I’m 25. I’ve decided to stick with it and accept I will never be polished and put together!

I know, she is brutal! I can always rely on her for an honest opinion!

I think I am the same as you. I’m not a ‘neutrals’ polished capsule wardrobe kind of girl and probably never will be. My millennial core outfit today was a black cropped pair of high waisted mom jeans, platform cherry red dr martens boots and a 70s style retro floral print short sleeved shirt from Monki. Oh and a sort of olivey green cropped cardigan with balloon sleeves. I think it’s the jeans which did the most damage as things have moved onto a more wide legged style now. So maybe it’s about updating certain silhouettes of things I already like? I bought a pair of high waisted wide legged jeans from Vinted and they look fab and I would have never considered wearing that shape before as I thought it made me look bigger. It’s like when I finally accepted skinnies were over and bought mom jeans instead and it felt so alien to me 😄

I was just talking to a stylish friend of mine and she says she follows a lot of accounts on Instagram and TikTok for inspiration. Her style is very different to what I would wear though, and I don’t know what I’d search for to find my kind of thing!

I messed up my attempt at the Golden Dose tonight 🤦🏻‍♀️ and need advice please!

I tried to do a golden dose from my pen tonight, by twisting it with a nut-cracker to break the seal. (Did this for the first time last month and it worked). Seemed to be fine tonight, and was able to twist the dial to 1. But when I actually did the injection, there didn’t seem to be any resistance and the button depressed very quickly. When I pulled it out, I could see there was still a lot of liquid left so I couldn’t tell whether I got much of a dose at all or how much. I suspect I may not have got a dose at all.

I have a new pen but obviously don’t want to risk over-dosing, so what should I do now? I know the instructions say to leave a minimum of 4 days between doses, so I don’t know whether I should take another dose in 4 days time and then adjust my weekly schedule accordingly OR treat this one as a missed dose and just wait a full week to take the next one. If I didn’t get a dose at all tonight, that would mean a 2 week gap between shots - will that be ok? I’m stayed on 10mgs for 2 months now so I really don’t want to have to start over again.

I‘m kicking myself about even trying the golden dose; everything has been going so well till now, I’m over 3 stones down since early January but the suppression was wearing off a lot by yesterday so was keen to stay on the right schedule.

Would be grateful for any advice as am feeling very deflated atm ☹️

@discov I went down Kibbe rabbit hole some time ago, and it made sense for me. Diagnosed myself as Soft Dramatic and it does explain why I look ridiculous in anything cute and girly, or anything too crisp and structured. Like with colours, it does help to stick to things that flatter. There's a test but it's often hard to figure out, so I rather looked at the celebrity examples. https://theconceptwardrobe.com/kibbe-body-types/the-13-kibbe-body-types-their-clothing-lines

@Reliablesource this happened to me once. The plunger was at the last line and had not moved at all, so I used a syringe to get a dose out. But there's still a good dose built up in the system, so if you don't want to risk it, you can leave a 2 week gap. At least my providers have all said 2 weeks is fine and you don't need to restart.

HeavyHeidi · 05/06/2025 06:08

oh and sorry for spamming early this morning, but weigh in day and I am..
59.9 kilos. There is 5 on the scale. I can't believe it - I never thought I would get there. (700gr down from last week)

BlueLimes · 05/06/2025 06:17

Wow a 5 is the dream - congrats !

meatyryvita · 05/06/2025 06:56

STS this week but no surprise. The scales haven’t shifted all week but after last weeks’ nearly 3lb loss, I’ll just look forward to next week.

🎉congratulations @HeavyHeidi , that’s amazing!!!!

@Reliablesource I didn’t have much luck with the golden dose when I tried, do you think you got any out? I think I’d be inclined to do as heavy Heidi said and leave it, maybe see how you feel in a few days and if necessary do another dose then?

@discov your 11 year old sounds brilliant, my son was the same at that age, no filter🤣. I think you’re right, go and try loads on and see what you like/ suits you. I think it’s going to take me a while to find my style. Stylist did help ( but I’m much older than you!!) but mostly in telling me what to avoid with my short, chesty upper body and v long legs!

I spoke too soon about the 10mg, up half the night and sulphur burps, memories of when I went up to 7.5, glad I won’t be going up again and may stick to 7.5 next week I think 🫣

Thank you. What kind of syringe did you use to get the dose out? And do you just have to insert the syringe through the hole in the pen to extract the liquid? I could pop round to the pharmacist and get a syringe if I know what I’m doing…

The more I think about it, I’m sure I didn’t get a dose out, as there is only one extra dose in the pen and there’s still lots of liquid left, so if I could just get that out, I’d be happy.

Reliablesource · 05/06/2025 07:27

@HeavyHeidi this is how much I still have left. Pretty sure that means I didn’t get any out as that looks like a lot…what do you think?

Hello everyone! I missed a lot of chat yesterday 😀
Weigh day and jab day for me. Still doing 5mg which is still working. Lost 1.75lbs this week which will do for me! I feel like I've finally broken free of my sticky weight and I'm on the way down again.
SW 15st 12lb
CW 12st 12lb
1st Goal 14st 6lb MET! 🎉
2nd goal 13st 3lb MET 🥳
3rd goal 12st
Final goal 10st 7lb

I've lost 3st now on MJ! And 3st 2lb since 1st January when I weighed to order my first pen.
I've been brave and added a new final, final goal which is right in the middle of my BMI. I don't know if I'll get there or if it will suit me but it seems mad not to try!
Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing! Xx 💕

discov · 05/06/2025 08:35

Well done @BreezyPeer and @HeavyHeidi on your losses this week!

ive just weighed in and lost 3lbs this week which is huge for me. I’ve lost so well since I’ve been in the 9st range which is strange as I expected everything to slow right down (and I wasn’t a hugely fast loser to start off with). I did plateau for a few weeks just above 10st so maybe my body is making up for it.

I’m now at 9st 6.8 🥳

Week 20 jab tonight:

SW 12st 2
CW 9st 6.8
GW 9st (but may go lower depending on how I feel)
