I’m not seeing much improvement in my skin yet. My arms are the worst which is a shame as they are on show a lot.

I’m not expecting much improvement as I’m very post menopausal and old but I wish I could go back in time and do something about my weight gain when I hit 10st.

HeavyHeidi · 02/06/2025 15:13

no point crying over spilled milk but I know what you mean @Jins
All those years..

Thelittlestranger · 02/06/2025 15:28

Interesting what you say @tinyemmy about surgery. And I wholeheartedly agree on not encouraging surgery in young girls, but there was an upside for me over and above the actual surgery itself.

I had a tummy tuck 5 years ago - 3 pregnancies, 2 c-sections and multiple years of up and down weight put me as the 'perfect' patient apparently. Before it, I never wore bikinis, always covered my tummy with my hand and genuinely hated my body. I had noticed my 11 year old daughter copying me in those traits.

Once I had it done, it changed my life. And I've worn bikinis ever since 🤣

I'm not suggesting anyone else gets it done. But, for me, it was a game changer. It was incredibly emotional and I had a roller coaster during recovery questioning why I had done it to myself. But, afterwards transformational. And the best bit -my attitude towards my body transformed my daughters attitude too. I have never told her I got it done though - perhaps I will when she's older (she's 17 now and found out I'm on WI). My 19 year old knows (but not about the WI!!)

It's stayed tight even with the weight loss 🎉 Arms haven't though...

I love the focus on not having generational body issues and the transformative impact of the choice you made. Bravo - seriously!

Interesting, yes how we speak and act around our bodies is so important.
I told my eldest daughter that she had a great bum yesterday, she was a bit weirded out but we concluded it was because is was strong. I've realised now though that I have been putting my body down, I said it's not saggy like mummy's. I need to embrace my body.
I actually felt pretty good in a bikini on holiday, it's not perfect. It would look better if I had surgery, but it's pretty good and I must remember to be positive about it! Thank you for the reminder ❤️

2025istheyeari · 02/06/2025 16:39

@Jins 7.5mg was the only dose I had issues with too, I was so ill. It wasn’t the first week either which was strange. Don’t blame you for reducing your dose.
My arms are so wrinkly, I def need to be doing some weights! I agree on the body dysmorphia- I look down and still see flab and am v self critical, then I see photos and don’t recognise myself. My sister said if I was sideways you wouldn’t see me, apart from my boobs 🤭😂. I think it must just take time. I’ve been overweight since 2012 and exceptionally so for the past 5 years. We have a calendar with photos from
the previous year on it, couldn’t wait for May to finish as there was a truly horrendous photo of me, I could have cried every time I saw it, and that’s not being vain just very sad that I was so overweight…

DGonMJ · 02/06/2025 17:23

Just had my weight verification call with Oushk. All very straightforward, remembered to look out for the Wisebee email with the link. There’s no ‘switch camera’ function on the app so you have to point your phone screen at the scales. I came up as 62.15kg (fully clothed) so a BMI of 22.8, which is well over their lowest prescribing BMI of 19. Showed them my driving license as proof of ID. So that’s that for 6 months (unless government regs change).

HeavyHeidi · 02/06/2025 20:03

2 things from this evening. Gym called that one instuctor is ill, could I jump in for the evening class. I could, so grabbed some random leggings from the drawer and went. Luckily the gym still uses microphone belts and not just headsets, because the leggings were so baggy they would not have stayed up otherwise.

Then got home, a delivery of some summer clothes for DS (11) had arrived. They had accidentally sent 2 pairs of nice light green shorts.
DS goes: hey, you can wear the other!
Me: ha ha really funny. [pulls shorts on] Oh.
Disclaimer that they are stretchy sports shorts and in size 14years as DS is tall, but they fit and I will actually happily wear them,

AmythestBangle · 02/06/2025 20:13

My tummy is rather wrinkly now. In the summer I spend a number of weeks in a place and engaging in activities where everyone is in swimsuits all the time. I have some one-pieces which still fit (they were too small before) but my bikinis I will have to bin because of the wrinkles, I think. (I don't know how I dared to show my fat tum in them before! I think I was in denial or had holiday fever!). Anyone have any suggestions for the best tankini bottoms with high waists, and /or tops with bra underwire and a wide band?

HeavyHeidi · 02/06/2025 20:17

I've ordered one from Next called White/Blue Floral Wide Strap Tummy Control Bandeau Tankini Top. I don't need tummy control and not sure it can even control anything, as it does not actually cover the lower stomach. But liked the pattern. Comes with various options for bottoms, also high waist.

MissPobjoysPonies · 02/06/2025 21:18

I’m sure it’s here somewhere but I’ve tried wading through and searching without concrete success BUT….. wondering if there is a slightly cheaper provider than med express? I’ve been using them since December and haven’t had a problem with them I just wondered if there was a way of keeping the cost down as the dose goes up? So any advice on that would be great.

I am not quite at goal weight and would like to lose one more stone for wiggle room but I’m feeling proud that I started at 14.02 and am currently at 12.02. People have noticed and some have asked me how I’ve done it but I’m a secret jabber (yes still!) and have been on a slower trajectory with 1lb losses per week or 2lbs and stalling for a couple of weeks. Anyway would love some ideas :)

MJalltheway · 02/06/2025 21:46

I used Monj to compare suppliers, you can look for the cheapest ones per dose.

I've just switched to Lotus from Voy, they are not the cheapest but got a good review.

Brilliant thanks I’ve found Pill sorted - has anyone used them? Reviews are quite good but I can’t get their ts and cs to load so I do t want to commit :)

@MissPobjoysPonies funny you should ask, I had a virtual fitting with Bravissimo yesterday and plan to order some of their high waisted bottoms and tops, they’ve got some nice things albeit not cheap, I have always used them and the quality and fit is great.
I’ve used pillsorted and found them pretty easy.

2025istheyeari · 03/06/2025 06:04

Week 22 weigh in for me today, end of week 1 of 10mg and I’ve lost 2 1/2 pounds.

Total weight loss is 4 stone, or 25.5 kg, I can’t quite believe it!!

I’ve got 7 1/2 pounds or 3kg to go to get to the top of my healthy BMI which is around 74kg, but think I’d like to get down to 70kg to give me a buffer. I’m hoping to get to healthy BMI by my holiday 4 weeks on Friday, then have 2 weeks off and final push. I also finish work at the same time so I’m hoping to be able to do more exercise during the summer to firm the wobbly bits!

I feel hungrier and I’m starting to try to increase my calories slightly, possibly counterintuitive but it seems to be working. Saying that I still can’t finish meals.

I’ve got my Oushk maintenance call when I get back from holiday and I’m planning to stay on MJ, as far as I’m concerned it’s a miracle!

have a great Tuesday everyone!

Thanks - I will try them for my next order. I suddenly realised I was a dose a head and so have ordered with Medexpress as it was simpler to get it asap (my own disorganisation) but will give them ago for my next pen.

MananaPenelope · 03/06/2025 07:19

Good morning team. Shocking day food wise yesterday for me coming in at 325 calories. I ate a Sainsbury’s egg mayo sandwich at 3pm. I was just hectic all day, wasn’t hungry and stepping out for food wasn’t a priority. Tons of water though which is a plus. I got off a train at 9:30pm, in bed with my mind 😵‍💫 at 10:15.

Must do better today. Of course I’ve lost weight this morning. 😬

Thelittlestranger · 03/06/2025 07:30

Yesterday I had to make myself eat a bigger dinner to get my cals up to 900. And it was jab day (I do it in the evening) so suppression still strong for the full week on this jab.

It's interesting you are all aiming for mid-BMI. I'm not. Or I wasn't. I've got another 7.5mg pen and my maintenance call beginning of July. Then a two week holiday. I was going to reduce my pen from next week, but maybe I won't and give it this final month. Seeing the numbers go down is really quite addictive and given I'm still 25+ BMI it's not a problem to continue. Hmm.

Zempy · 03/06/2025 07:40

Yes it’s interesting how our perspective changes as we get smaller. I don’t think I really believed I would get from obese to a healthy weight without giving up, so 25 BMI was already an optimistic target.

Now I am lighter than that, I can see I still have that sort of apron pull down at the sides of my stomach. It’s nothing like it used to be, but it’s still there and I hate it. I really want to lose more weight from the front of my torso.

Also I am worried about regain as I seek maintenance. I suspect it will be September before I am ready to maintain properly.

I wasn’t looking to either, but I still feel like there is a bit to go. I’m going to play by ear and see how I go tbh! I may change my mind, I’ve got a dress I bought from Vinted which I love but which makes my boobs look flat, so was wondering if I lose a bit more whether that would fit!

AmythestBangle · 03/06/2025 08:16

Thanks @heavyheidi I will take a look at Next. It feels great not to need the hectic tummy control stuff, which I really don't anymore. But the wrinkles are a bit much!

Thelittlestranger · 03/06/2025 08:20

@2025istheyeari I'm worried that all the new clothes I've just bought will become too big 🫣 Every lb now makes such a difference.

OP posts:
Jins · 03/06/2025 08:44

I’m aiming for the middle of my BMI range because I know from previous weight loss attempts (and this one) that I’m still rather lardy at BMI 25 and my body fat is not in a healthy range at all. I can’t remember exactly the weight I was when my metrics went green but I’ve got 9st 8 in my head as my future maximum weight.

BMI is currently 23.2 and it wouldn’t be the end of the world to stop here. I’ve 5lbs to go to hit goal (9st BMI 22.3) and if I don’t like the way I look and feel then there’s room for a little gain. I’d love to be 8st something again, 8st 7 was where I was happy, but it was nearly 20 years ago and menopause was still a way off.

HeavyHeidi · 03/06/2025 08:45

I was optimistically aiming for 62 kilos, never thought I get there. Then 60 kilos, almost there. But now I really want something I always saw as ideal weight for me and that I never managed to reach, 57 kilos. Still very much mid healthy BMI, not too skinny or anything.
And like @Zempy I also have a thing, but in my case, my legs. Finally, finally they are also slimming a bit. So I'm worried that if I stop now and then gain some weight, it will go straight into calves - but when I lose, it will go from upper body. Maybe this winter I can actually wear long boots that don't come from 'wide calf' range..

Jins · 03/06/2025 09:37

Not an NSV in the strictest sense but my Renpho scales have put my metabolic age a year less than my actual age.

This was what it was all about!
