Oh.. I was really hoping that wasn’t the case, I’m flying with friends and don’t want anyone knowing 🫣. I may speak to Oushkk and see what they recommend. We’re going to Japan so will be hot and humid.

@DGonMJ it depends on the airport and in some cases the scanners they use, T5 has a few of the new scanners but by no means all and it depends on the country you’re flying back from too.

I was really worried in January when I travelled with friends but lucked out in that out friends were not interested and my case was not pulled to be looked at. This time round because of the Frio (I didn't have it in January) you wouldn't know and particularly now that we don't need to take it out of our bags.
I'd buy a black Frio, so discreet, and assume that no one will come near your bag

2025istheyeari · 29/05/2025 13:10

Thanks all, I’m paranoid that ( as usual) my bag will be the one to be searched🫣.

Morning! Wierd nsv last night. Going through my wardrobe to put a few bits on vinted and found a brand new outfit I bought to wear Christmas Day. I bought it very last minute as I didn't have anything at all to wear that fitted. It's not my style or colour ( selling it aren't I?)
Anyway, put the trousers on ( elasticated waist) and they fell straight on the floor 🤣🤣
Sometimes I don't believe I've actually lost the weight and I have bought very few new clothes as I want to wait for my goal weight and also when I 'get my colours done ' in July.
Straight on vinted with that outfit then! Xxx

MJalltheway · 30/05/2025 08:14

Great NSV @BreezyPeer !

Weigh in day today
SW 101kg
CW 85 kg
GW 70 kg
loss this week 0.8 kg

Nice and steady again, very happy with that. 51.6% of the way to goal. Off to Bodypump shortly!

DGonMJ · 30/05/2025 08:26

Great NSV @BreezyPeer

I wore a dress yesterday from my earlier ‘fit at 40’ wardrobe and it was kind of loose so I put a belt on it to give it more shape. I also tried on the strapless jumpsuit I wore for my 40th and it’s also too loose around the chest. I don’t want to sell it because it reminds of the lovely time we all had, so maybe I can get it taken in.

Renpho scales today have me exactly as they were on the last weigh in. So I have achieved maintenance so far this week. Period due any day now.

whyamisuddenlygettingolder · 30/05/2025 08:43

Weigh in day today:

SW: 16st 1.8lbs
CW: 12st 1.8lbs
GW: 10st 10lbs

Massive loss of 3.6lbs this week, probably because I’ve eaten next to nothing on this horrible beige diet. Almost looking forward to colonoscopy tomorrow so I can eat some vegetables 😅 shot 20 is due today but I’ll do it tomorrow. V pleased to have hit 4st loss - but still a way to go before the healthy zone.

millenialmolly · 30/05/2025 08:44

Rant incoming!

Scales show I’ve gained 2lbs since Monday. Not overly upset as I was out for lunch yesterday and Wednesday, didn’t overdo it but a bit more carby normal. It’s probably linked to my cycle as well as this is the point of the month I tend to gain. Reckon it’ll be gone by Monday.

However… husband has decided he wants to lose a bit of weight before the summer. Other than cutting out chocolate and biscuits he hasn’t really changed a lot. 10 days in… 7lbs down! Wtf 🤬 why is it so easy for men?!

Jins · 30/05/2025 08:53

Week 20 weigh in. I skipped week 19’s official weigh in due to being on hols but still weigh daily.

Anyway - 1.2lb lost since week 18. 2lb lost since returning home so the holiday gain has gone plus a bit extra. Very happy indeed with that as I’m off again on 6th June to a swanky AI in Turkey and feel confident that I can navigate the buffet.

SW. 11st 3. BMI 28.2
CW. 9st 5.8. BMI 23.3
GW. 9st BMI 22.3.

0.8lbs off a 2 stone loss!

NSV - tried new bikini bottoms with original top and in certain lights and angles the remaining belly fat has settled into areas that make it look like a 6 pack. The effect goes when viewed from the side 🤣

Zempy · 30/05/2025 09:00

@millenialmolly LTB

@Jins Turkish delight guaranteed!!

Jins · 30/05/2025 09:16

@Zempy I really hope so! It was the most obscure thing I’ve ever spotted on a breakfast buffet. Other people say porridge or eggs set them up for the day but I found a bowl of jelly and a couple of chunks of Turkish delight really did it for me. So much joy in sweets for breakfast.

DH and I were imagining what our mothers’ reactions would have been if it had been an option when we were kids and agreed that we wouldn’t have been allowed to go near the buffet 🤣

MananaPenelope · 30/05/2025 09:29

Good morning, official weigh in and I've gained 200g this week on an average calorie intake of just under 1000 cals a day. Fab u lous.

Hormones @millenialmolly , hormones and muscle mass. It is annoying.

I think that's why my loss is so slow, all the drugs that have screwed up my hormones.

Thelittlestranger · 30/05/2025 09:38

Frustrating @MananaPenelope

I've not kept up much over the past few days - work has been manic. But a skim has seen the usual flurry of topics!!

Weighed today (not official WI day) and have gone past my goal on my old scales, and 1lb from it on my Renpho. I seem to have shrunk and so it puts my BMI as still out of 'healthy' but quite frankly, I am very happy with where my stats are, and where I am. So, 1lb to go and I'm there. I figure to find it comfortably will be another two weeks. Fingers crossed.

Have done a huge shopping haul over the last week. Still can't get my head round fitting in size 8. I do need shorts though - I have none that fit. So, that's next on the list. And some summer dresses - then I'm done.

I'm opposite to constipated on 7.5 - and I've been constipated the whole way through. But I realised no sign of heartburn for a few months now.

Enjoy the sun all!

HeavyHeidi · 30/05/2025 09:44

@millenialmolly according to my scales, I ganed 2 pounds overnight! But I know it's just food and water weight, even with my best efforts I can't put on 2 pounds of fat. I am still below my sticky point, so happy with some fluctuations and slower loss.

I hear you about men and weight loss! DH ate a bit less chocolate and dropped several kilos, and he's already very slim. Regularly mentions that 'oh, I've lost weight!' to which I normally responded that don't worry, it's not lost, I've found it. 😁

@MananaPenelope that must be so annoying! Surely at some point your body must start cooperating.

HeavyHeidi · 30/05/2025 09:50

@BreezyPeer what a fabulous NSV!
And I can't believe how big so many of my clothes are. Grab a t-shirt - surely it's just a t-shirt, will be wearable. No, looks like I'm wearing a tent. Did some good vinted sales yesterday, whole load of packages to drop off.

@Thelittlestranger same, was just complaining about it. I had kept several shorts from when I lost weight last time, and they are all too big. And I can now buy as short shorts as I want - no chub rub!

HeavyHeidi · 30/05/2025 10:00

@MJalltheway so how was bodypump?

whyamisuddenlygettingolder · 30/05/2025 10:01

@millenialmolly I am convinced that men have it easier in part because they tend not to have yo yo dieted before. My ex just decided to get fit in his mid 30s and did, easy peasy, and has stayed fit for the decade since then too. Meanwhile by the same age I had already been on a diet for pretty much twenty years 😬

Just got back! It was SO hard, can hardly walk or move my arms. LOVED it! Already booked on another next week. 😁

That's a really good point, yo-yo dieting really screws up your metabolism. Plus men have more muscle mass which burns calories. They are usually taller and heavier, which burns more calories. And men's endocrine system is so much simpler than women's so no hormones to contend with. Women are predisposed to store fat in order to sustain pregnancy. No point comparing against a man on a weight loss journey, the odds are much more stacked against you.

Thank you for your positive comments.
I have found a bit of exercise does help but I just am really pushed for time at the moment to get it in.
I’d love to take more of an active part in the conversations on this thread too but I’m very time poor at the moment.

I’m still feeling pretty bleurgh, it’s miserable really. I notice my mood picks up as the dose tapers off at the end of the week so it’s definitely the MJ.

I was thinking I’d probably need to be on a maintenance dose for life but I can’t go through life like this so maintenance is going to have to be down to me.
That’s quite a scary thought as MJ is the only way I’ve ever lost this much weight.
I haven’t been this weight for years and it feels good.
I’ve got horrifying visions of piling the weight back on as soon as I stop taking it.
I mean it’s a real concern of mine.

Well done everyone as we keep carrying on. Good luck to all for the week ahead.

Week 20 for me.
SW 196lbs
CW 150lbs
GW 133lbs

MJalltheway · 30/05/2025 11:16

@SteveHarringtonsHair sorry to hear you are feeling so flat. How long do you have left to go before you reach maintenance do you think?
