Had my meeting with the gynae consultant today about getting my surgery back in the diary. First thing she said to me when she saw me was ‘oh the mounjaro is working wonders for you’. I haven’t seen this consultant since last year - how could she remember me given she has seen so many patients since then AND remember that I was a lot fatter then?! Maybe I was freakishly huge or something. Kind of threw me a bit. Anyway I asked her about whether I needed to stop MJ for the surgery and she said no. Her theory on why the pre-op nursing team might have said that I absolutely had to stop straight away was that if they thought my current BMI of 28 was where I had started taking MJ then I wouldn’t medically ‘qualify’ for it. So taking it was ‘unnecessary’ Instead my BMI was 33 when I started and I’ve finally started heading down the scale.
And hopefully I should be getting a date in the first week of July for surgery.

Skinnies can sod off, as far as I'm concerned. I have strong calves, thanks farmer ancestors, yes I could carry an oxen under each arm up the hill. But this also means that anything tight around my calves makes my legs look like parsnips.

Polkadotdash · 28/05/2025 19:59

@HeavyHeidi i meant to say your new name should be ‘HeidiSlimOne’ now!

MananaPenelope · 29/05/2025 06:32

Morning everyone, I’ve gained a pound. I am constipated again as well as fed up, I’m going to take movicol today after prunes, psyllium husk and mag citrate has failed.

I’ve upped my walking by 7000 steps a day too for the last week.

Fed up.

HeavyHeidi · 29/05/2025 06:45

oh so sorry to hear @MananaPenelope - you're doing everything and more. So frustrating.

meatyryvita · 29/05/2025 06:58

Weigh in today and I’ve maintained since my sneaky weigh in at the weekend. I’ve lost 2.4lbs since last Thursday and as that means I’m officially under 13 stone, I’m thrilled.

I'm really sorry to hear @MananaPenelope - you must be so frustrated given it sounds like you’re doing everything right. There’s better be an almighty whoosh next week!

BreezyPeer · 29/05/2025 07:51

@meatyryvita snap! I am under 13st for the first time in forever. It was a shock to see a number beginning with 12. (Only just but still!)
I am so pleased 😀
Weigh day and jab day today.

Took 5mg again, still losing so I'm not keen to go up unless I need to.

meatyryvita · 29/05/2025 07:56

@BreezyPeer very similar stats! Well done! What a great feeling it is :-)

HeavyHeidi · 29/05/2025 07:58

Weigh in day here as well and I've lost almost a kilo, 900gr down, despite that massive lunch last weekend.

Public holiday here today and everything is closed, so I really need to sort the wardrobe again. Donate a ton. Sort out things a friend might want. Put aside nicer things I can get altered for me. List things on Vinted - really can't be arsed, but it's not that bad once you get into it, is it?

Really have to go shopping, but there aren't that many great options in the area, and online is so difficult nowadays due to inconsistent sizing. I send back more stuff than I keep, the local post office and I are on first name basis.

HeavyHeidi · 29/05/2025 07:59

Congratulations losers!

Therealmetherealme · 29/05/2025 08:08

Morning all, debating what to do next. Since Jan I’ve lost about 4 stone, all going well 2-3lb a week average, haven’t gone above 5mg. I was planning to use a 2.5 pen I have next ( needs using by Aug), then stop the jabs. I’d ideally like to lose another 1/2 stone to give me some wiggle room, that would be a BMI of 25. However, I’ve plateaued, the last few weeks. Do I do one last month of 5mg to get over the hump, or do I stick to my plan?

I’ve looked at prices and MedExpress are noted to have stock issues, anyone having issues?

DGonMJ · 29/05/2025 08:13

I’m back up to 62kg today from Sunday’s 61.7, which is perfectly within range. Could be a pre-menstrual thing, or could be the increased calories. But I’m happy with that fluctuation.

Feeling very ‘meh’ this week, and annoyed with some bad players at work. I think this wobble is pre-menstrual too.

@MananaPenelope sorry you’re feeling fed up. Hope today’s a better day for you.

Congrats to all the losers hitting their 12-stone-something milestone!

MJalltheway · 29/05/2025 08:15

Morning all, congrats @BreezyPeer and @meatyryvita for breaking into the 12 stone bracket! I also started on 15st 12 (although I measure in kg - 101kg), nice to see fellow losers a bit ahead of me!
Went to the theatre last night with DH and had pizza and 2 proseccos (pizza was lovely, prosecco I couldn't quite manage 2 glasses 🤦🏻‍♀️) so did not have high hopes for the daily weigh today but I'm still over half a kilo down from last week so very happy with that. Will see how I'm doing tomorrow for official weigh day.
We have quite a lot of family birthdays over the next couple of weeks with plenty of meals out. MJ makes it so easy to navigate though!

2025istheyeari · 29/05/2025 08:28

Oh @MananaPenelope that is so frustrating, especially when you’re doing everything you can. Hopefully constipation disappears soon with some KG.

@BreezyPeer and @meatyryvita 🎉🎉🎉🎉well done, amazing!! You must feel brilliant!! Congrats to all the other losers too!!

I’ve gone up to 10mg this week, and so far I feel ok, little bit of nausea and a few cramps but nothing major. I did feel some run down my leg though so actually unsure how much went in!

Also for those of you who’ve flown with MJ, have you kept it cool? My plan is to put it in checked baggage. We’re travelling around and won’t have fridges and I’m not sure what to do! Thanks

Jins · 29/05/2025 08:38

Congrats @BreezyPeer and @meatyryvita. Breaking stone barriers feels amazing!

Sulphur burps again last night, headed them off with some pepto bismol so I’ll be in the constipated corner with @MananaPenelope. Unless I get a repeat of my experience on holiday. I’m not sure 7.5mg is a good dose for me for side effects which is a shame as it’s been the best so far in other terms. I’ll drop back down to 6.25mg from the golden dose on Saturday and stay there for a while. I’ve got a full 7.5 pen ready to go, I’m about half a stone from goal and my maintenance call is June 23 so timing is looking ok.

Made some new bottoms for my tankini yesterday in the size down. They’ll do for now but the fit needs adjustment and I don’t have time to be messing with redrafting patterns. At least they won’t fall off.

Zempy · 29/05/2025 08:43

Congratulations to those hitting targets, and big hugs to those feeling low. This October weather doesn’t bloody help does it? 🤬

I am in the Constipated Crew so weigh ins are fairly meaningless. I have a small amount left in my 7.5 pen, then I have a 10mg pen to crack into tomorrow. Tbh my suppression on 7.5 is still good, so I will do my bestest maths and try to inject that amount again tomorrow.

My Vinted habit is Out Of Control.

HeavyHeidi · 29/05/2025 08:46

@2025istheyeari I've done checked luggage once when we had a direct flight, I don't trust the bags will always make it with transfers. But otherwise got one of those insulated cases and used cold packs. Will you go somewhere hot?

HeavyHeidi · 29/05/2025 09:04

I wonder how much shopping it takes before the most used websites start actually recommending me the correct sizes? You know the ones that track your purchase history and then confidently state that for this item, size L is your recommended size. Oh no it is not.

DGonMJ · 29/05/2025 09:19

Question for those travelling out of UK airports, do we have to put the MJ pen in a ‘liquids’ bag to get through security or have they finally moved on from that? Last flew in December.

You need to pack mj in hand luggage. The hold could get too cold. I bought a frio, it won't keep it fridge temperature but will keep it below 30, which I needed because I've come to Egypt.
Gatwick we didn't need to take liquids out of bags, not sure on the way back. I will pack liquids separately anyway and then I can take it out of I need to.

Oh.. I was really hoping that wasn’t the case, I’m flying with friends and don’t want anyone knowing 🫣. I may speak to Oushkk and see what they recommend. We’re going to Japan so will be hot and humid.

@DGonMJ it depends on the airport and in some cases the scanners they use, T5 has a few of the new scanners but by no means all and it depends on the country you’re flying back from too.

Boohoo76 · 29/05/2025 10:52

Sympathies for all those that are not losing. Whilst I have lost 20lbs in total, I’ve only lost 5lbs since 22 March. Still 14lbs from target and that target will only get me to a BMI of 25.

mince3point14159265 · 29/05/2025 10:57

@2025istheyeari the Frio pouch is completely discreet, just put the whole thing inside a clear plastic bag (could put other liquids in there so doesn't stand out on its own if that's what you're concerned about). Tbh I think it's always so chaotic putting your own stuff in the trays that no-one else will be looking at what you're putting in the tray.
The inner part just needs to be soaked in water every now and then to reactivate the crystals and keep the pen cool. Stays cool(er) than ambient temperature for quite a while.
Sorry if I'm sounding like I work for Frio! 😂

@DGonMJ I've gone through Heathrow T5 a couple of times this year; the first class check in didn't need to take out liquids in February but did through the normal scanners last month. DH travelled through T3 a little while ago & said he didn't have to take out liquids there (although not sure if they have a separate first class check in there that he used).

I find that Magnesium Oxide has that effect, Citrate doesn’t (ymmv of course). I had bought oxide previously but stopped using it because of that side effect, now bringing it back occasionally

discov · 29/05/2025 12:22

Weigh in day today and lost another 1.4lbs!

I’ve just taken delivery of another 7.5mg pen and debating if I should order one more as there’s currently an £18 off discount code from Oushk, then titrate down after that. I have my maintenance call next week but still 9lbs to my target of 9st, and I could probably afford to go a little lower too.
