Bless you all ! I am happy honestly but I just wish that it was a little bit quicker. Hate the subtle internal glum feeling of another maintain despite a good week.
onwards and downwards !

I feel your pain, my loss is very similar to yours (28lbs) and I’m finding it very frustrating too. I’m on my second week of 10mg, lost 2lbs first week then nothing last week.

I’m noticing that I only really lose twice a month and it seems to be linked to my cycle and ovulation etc. I’m also under active thyroid. I started at 18st 8 so I did hope the weight would fall off me 😂 but apart from the first few days after each jab, my appetite is still decent and other than lots of steps, exercise is pretty much zilch. I’m going to try and prioritise water and movement this week as I’m off work so no excuses!

Are you exercising? X

Zempy · 26/05/2025 07:45

I’m 10:5 today! So that’s a 44 pound loss since Jan 8 😍

Weird experience yesterday. Met a group of friends for brunch. Usual chat, nothing about weight loss or what anyone was/wasn’t eating. I ordered a full English and ate half of it, none of the bread.

Anyway, after a beach walk and more innocuous chat, I’m walking back to the car with the two friends I drove, and one started. “What are you going to do when you stop taking it?” “How much is this costing you?” “X has lost four stone and they did it without WLI, just with hard work, isn’t that impressive?”

Really disappointed. I have previously responded to all of these questions so it wasn’t genuine at all. I gave friendly answers but did feel a little attacked. I know it’s jealousy and ignorance all wrapped up together, but I didn’t expect it from someone this close to me. 🙄

HeavyHeidi · 26/05/2025 09:02

@Zempy that's very disappointing, coming from people who you considered friends. But you have done amazingly!

Polkadotdash · 26/05/2025 09:17

Oh @Zempy that’s so frustrating and disappointing. Why do people feel the need to say things like that? It’s actually quite hurtful. Do they not know the effort involved, WLI or not?

HeavyHeidi · 26/05/2025 09:29

I went to see a consultant as I have a small hernia. CT scan on Friday and will discuss surgery then. But I did like when he mentioned several times how this type of surgery is so much easier on slim people like me. Slim.

Jins · 26/05/2025 09:37

@Zempy that’s awful of your friends. It would really put me off them.

@supafish I’ve lost 25 pounds since Jan 10. 11.3 ish kg which was nearly the weight of my hold luggage flying out on my hols. I was bloody glad that was on wheels tbh and it was a fair old lump to lift onto the belt at check in. So even though it’s not the quickest or biggest loss amongst us I can really appreciate that I’ve lost quite a lot of weight.

Yesterday was a bit of a disaster food wise as shopping wasn’t a priority despite me being hungrier than expected on Jab day. On the plus side I saw how completely unsatisfying a plate of beige freezer food was compared to my usual meals and it was scary to feel myself hunting round for snacks because I was hungry an hour after eating. Suppression has now kicked in and food shopping is planned for today.

mince3point14159265 · 26/05/2025 10:10

Sorry you had to deal with that @Zempy. Think I would have been tempted to say “are sure X has lost the weight without WLI’s, maybe she just doesn’t want all the intrusive questioning from ‘friends’ & implied comments that suggest I’m somehow cheating?”.
Congrats on the loss from all of us who know how much work you’ve put in! 💪🏻👏🎉

mince3point14159265 · 26/05/2025 10:14

That must have been lovely to hear @HeavyHeidi! Good luck with the surgery 🤞

Polkadotdash · 26/05/2025 10:25

@HeavyHeidi hernia doesn’t sound good. Hope it’s easy to fix?

Also - weigh in for me this morning and I am sub 13 stone! Well, 12 stone 13lbs but still. This is the first time I have seen the scales say anything starting with 12 in about 8 years.
Frankly I’m amazed that I have lost anything because I’ve lived on chocolate and toast this week with all the surgery cancellation stress.

That’s your new name. SlimHeidi. You need to own it!!

Thanks everyone. The mutual friend who has lost four stone has done fantastically well, I am not taking anything away from him. But he’s a six foot two bloke who probably weighed over eighteen stone to start.

Weirdly, I think the jealousy is more about money than anything else. I am the second person in our group to lose significant weight. The other had WLS privately so considerable financial outlay there.

Friend who had a pop at me has a DP who is very controlling about money. I think it’s about this. Friend is overweight but not obese. I don’t think her weight is an issue for her. I’m going to just steer the convo away from it as much as possible.

MJalltheway · 26/05/2025 10:42

@Zempy my first thought would have been that the other friend probably used WLI too but has kept it to themselves (no judgement, I've done the same thing!). Disappointing but predictable from your friends - exactly why people don't like talking about it!
traditional grey bank holiday here. Done a rowing machine workout this morning and have Zumba lined up for later. Thought last night I should recalculate my tdee because when I did it before it was based on no exercise. So it's around 500 cals a day higher than before now. I'm not intending to eat any more than I already do but it's good to know for maintenance stage when I get there.
(also calculated my 17 year old DS's - his is around 4000 cals a day!)

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head @Zempy people’s unsolicited opinions on ‘you’ are always really just a reflection of how they feel about themselves. As you say if she has a husband who is controlling with money maybe she’s just trying to convince herself that weightloss that requires a financial investment isn’t necessary - and in her case it sounds like it isn’t.

DGonMJ · 26/05/2025 12:54

More importantly hooray for the 44lb loss @Zempy 🏅 🏅 🏅 🏅

Waving all the pom-poms for you @Polkadotdash for your 12 stone-something milestone!

And @HeavyHeidi on the NSV casual reference to ‘slim’! Hope the hernia op goes ok.

Suppression has kicked in today sooner than usual after yesterday’s jab. I expect because I ate more calories yesterday and also quite a bit of fatty/refined carb food (went to a street food festival - did not enjoy).

I’ve put more clothes that don’t fit me anymore on Vinted. I’d been putting it off ‘just in case’ but I feel I need to commit now. I still haven’t been shopping for new clothes, despite promising myself a reward. Have been prioritising house repairs/purchases.

HeavyHeidi · 26/05/2025 13:25

I'm stll feeling stuffed and generally blah after yesterday's overindulgent lunch. Lessons learned, no set menus for me any more, way too much food.

@Polkadotdash seems a relatively minor op, but he actually found another hernia and said that looks like diastasis rectii, so will probably need to patch up all the way from navel to ribcage, otherwise you fix one and another pops up.

I do like how different countries allow you recovery time though. Read UK or European pages - if desk job, you need at least 1-2 weeks off work.
US pages - weekend is enough, back to work on Monday! Kind of explains why my former American boss thought there was nothing unresonable in asking a colleague who had broken a few bones and was literally in the ambulance on the way to hospital if he can still work. Oh, broken collarbone, can't move the arm? What if we send someone to hospital to take notes?

2025istheyeari · 26/05/2025 15:44

Amazing Slim Heidi!!! Hope surgery ok.

Yay @Polkadotdash , you did it, well done you.

@Zempy , that’s an amazing weight loss, well done! I’m so sorry to hear about your friends, how dare they. I haven’t told anyone other than dh and dm, and I won’t be. I’m lucky in that noone has asked but if they do I’ll have no guilt in lying, I maintain it’s nothing at all to do with another soul!

Good luck with Vinted @DGonMJ , I’ve been doing the same and made a fair bit of money which part funded my spree at the weekend!

I’ve had a whoosh this week after losing and putting on the same pound for 3 weeks, I lost 3 1/2 pounds this week!! So I’ve now lost 53.5 pounds or 24kg. I’m jabbing today and going up to 10 as I’d been sticking and hungry on 7.5, I went up to 8.5 last 3 weeks so hoping I don’t suffer too many side effects! Oushk have scheduled my maintenance call for 1230pm on 21/7, by which time I’ll hopefully be at goal. Still not sure what that is, I’m 10 pounds away from a healthy BMI and would like to be a bit below that but I know I’m never going to be anywhere near the lower or middle end.

HeavyHeidi · 26/05/2025 16:06

@2025istheyeari maybe you will. I never thought I get to my current goal, but now going even a bit lower seems actually possible.

and yes, why are people even thinking it's OK to ask about WLI? I haven't been asked if I use HRT. Or that oh, hair looks better, are you on minoxidil? But 'fat jabs' are free for all to inquire about.

Aimingdown · 26/05/2025 19:30

Well done to all you losers and shakers this week!

Slow and steady here like many now:
Week 19, currently on 7.5
SW 80kg
CW 66.8kg
GW tbd, around 60kg

I don’t think anybody should feel bad about slow and steady loss - any down is good. I was talking to a healthcare practitioner recently who has lost two stone on WLI but over a period of two years. He credited that with his lack of saggy skin 🤷‍♀️

I spent some time this week trying on clothes that I haven’t worn in a while. Delighted to find that virtually all of them fit so much better now so I don’t think I’ll need to buy any new ones just at the moment. I also realised I have a number of things that I bought not because I really liked them, but just because they fitted me and didn’t look too dreadful, those are going off to a charity now and I’m loving the fact that I can think about what I really want to wear rather than just what will do.

My only other wrinkle (literally) at the moment is crepey upper arms and bingo wings 😱 does anybody have any hints for this apart from exercise and building muscle which I’m already working on? I don’t really feel like I’ve lost particularly quickly, and I certainly prefer this to the flab that was there before, but hit me up if you have any suggestions please

HeavyHeidi · 26/05/2025 19:39

@Aimingdown I've been using Caudalie Lift and Firm body cream. Arms not bad at all.

Aimingdown · 26/05/2025 19:46

Thank you @HeavyHeidi (or as we now know you, LightHeidi!). I think I need to use up some stuff I already have, but then will try that one.

HeavyHeidi · 26/05/2025 20:39

And I agree, so many things I simply don't like any more, even though they are still wearable. They were bought for damage limitation purposes, hid the flab the best. Don't need it any more though.

MJalltheway · 26/05/2025 21:27

That's so true, I've been steadily listing things on Vinted. I tried on a jumpsuit I used to wear and it literally hung off me. But it used to hide a giant belly quite well!!

supafish · 26/05/2025 21:33

Not exercising really , only walking . I’ve just retired with a back injury and I think I use it as a bit of an excuse. Need to get off my backside and move . Just eaten a bag of crisps and can taste the fat in my mouth yuck x

BreezyPeer · 26/05/2025 22:18

@MJalltheway I have loads of things I need to list on vinted! I need to get on and photograph all the items. I could do with some money in the vinted bank to buy some clothes that fit!
@supafish I think, with exercise, it really is finding something you like doing. I have been doing online strength training classes with my in person pilates teachers ( how complicated is that?) I was doing on before tea today and I was disappointed it was going to end so soon 😅 I wondered who I am? I usually hate exercise 🤣🤣

Randomusernameforcode · 26/05/2025 23:06

Hi all,
Just checking in. Been awol from the thread for a few weeks.. well feels like from my phone in general as work and personal life have been mega hectic.

I reached my initial target this week. 11st 7lb. Starting weight just under 14st.

I would really like to drop another 7lbs so will se what happens as I'm on my own now!
Did my last jab yesterday. Had been taking 6.25mg from a 7.5mg pen for a few weeks. The final dose was bang on 7.5mg with an insulin syringe. (22 jabs in total).

I'll update on here as to what the next few weeks bring in terms of being mounjaro free. Im really hoping I can maintain.. and dare I say even lose a bit more. The difference this time compared to any other diet is im not worried!
My thinking is, I've either reset my brain and my habits enough to do this, or, I will regain and in that case, I would take the jabs again in a heart beat and also reconsider what a long term/life long maintaine dose would looks like and mean for me.

Will catch up on all the posts through the week so in advance, congrats to all who have reached target and good luck! And, onwards and downwards to everyone else still working their way there!
