Welcome home travellers 🧳

I skipped the Juniper daily weigh in and went straight to the Renpho scales. I’m now 40% skeletal muscle, so that’s an increase from last week and finally gets me into the green zone!
I’m still technically losing muscle weight so that’s not stabilised yet. I think I need to eat more to get that up but all my stats are now in green except sub-cut fat which I’m not that fussed about (already feeling the cold).

My stats are very similar, my BMI is slightly lower, it took until 22.3ish to get everything in the green apart from subcutaneous fat.

Our numbers are so similar though which makes me wonder if it is indeed calculating it.

I also don't really care about subcutaneous fat, although part of me wants everything green. But I care less so now that I think it's probably just calculated based on BMI rather than anything real...?!?

I nearly wasn't allowed into Egypt. I honestly don't think I look that different, but it seems I do, I had to do my signature multiple times, explain I'd lost weight and no I didn't have any other ID. I think I will have to get a new passport (and practice my signature) before we go away next!

I tend not to put weight on whilst on holiday (benefits of eating gluten free) but I'm not worried if I do, I know it will come off easily thanks to mj.

I had planned some gym days but the info says you need gym shoes and I didn't bring any...

meatyryvita · 24/05/2025 12:04

Got up this morning to work out and just oddly FELT slimmer. Went on my, usually very rude, scales and am below 13st!!! Official weigh in was Thursday and I had lost 1.8lbs taking me to 13.2. This morning I was 12.13! It has been a very very long time since my weight started with that number. I’m now just 3lbs off a total of 3 stone since 30th Jan.

Have a great weekend losers!

mince3point14159265 · 24/05/2025 14:10

Welcome back to all the travellers, it's been lovely to hear all your stories while you've been away. But could not one of you have brought some good weather back with you for the bank holiday?! 😜

And congrats to all the losers this week; some great results! 🎉

Can't believe it's already my 22nd jab today. Still on 7.5mg and have ordered another 7.5mg pen as still losing fairly steadily.

SW: 15.13.0
CW: 12.3.4
Loss this week 3lbs (despite weekend in Paris!)

Over 50lbs lost now; whoop, whoop!

Saw some friends yesterday that we hadn't seen for a little while and both DH & I thought it really weird they didn't say anything about my weight loss. We've known them for an absolute age, so wouldn't be offended or anything by any comment. Clearly I was the elephant in the room, both before & after! 🤣🤣🐘
I really don't have a problem with anyone saying anything about my weight loss as I was clearly very, very overweight to put it mildly, I know that, I'm not stupid! Will just take any comment in the positive way I hope it was intended and move on. 🤷‍♀️ But it seems from some of the comments on MN that some people worry that it will be taken in the wrong way and so just don't say anything at all. Human interactions can be so bloody complex! 🤪

Wishing all you lovely Losers a fantastic Bank holiday and hopefully some respite from all the holiday washing!

2025istheyeari · 24/05/2025 14:10

Whoop, all brilliant news today!! Go us!!!

JL personal stylist was fantastic. I went through all of them and chose someone who I thought would get me and she did! She thinks I’m spring, and trying both autumn and spring palettes on, I definitely veer more to spring, the brighter colours but they’re both yellow rather than blue based so makes sense. She confirmed I’m an inverted triangle and brought things out I never would have considered but which really enhanced my body shape and balanced me out ( I have super long legs, a very high waist and therefore short torso and a big chest). I tried them all on, hated some, loved others and bought a LOT more than I thought I would. I was a 12, even in dresses which regardless of whether vanity sizing was at play made me happy! Even my 16 yo son told me I look fab. Happy, happy, happy, thanks MJ!! I’m definitely going to go again in autumn. I’m about 10 pounds off the top of my healthy weight range but knowing my shape and how I’ve lost before, it’s likely to come
off my chest and possibly my waist, everything I have will still be ok I think.

Polkadotdash · 24/05/2025 15:32

@meatyryvita I’ve been stuck at 13 for two weeks now so anything starting with a 12 is my next mini goal.

Cabinfever20 · 24/05/2025 15:53

Hi. Congratulations to everyone on the fantastic losses. I’m down 2 stone with another 1/1.5 stone still to go. As I order my pens from Med Express as soon as I’m allowed, I have quite a stockpile as we spend quite a bit of time in France during the summer and I wanted to be prepared! Does anyone know what is the longest time I can wait before ordering another pen from Med Express before they cut me off and make me go back to 2.5mg.

It’s within your grasp @Polkadotdash - you can do it!

mince3point14159265 · 24/05/2025 18:48

Not sure @Cabinfever20 ; can you not call them and explain the situation? They've been quite helpful when I've had to speak to them.

CurlsandCurves · 25/05/2025 08:42

Morning everyone,

Not contributed to the thread for a while, but I do read every day! Congrats on all the great losses and goal smashing.

I think I’m going to move up to 7.5 this week. I’ve been on 5 mg for 12 weeks and I’m definitely feeling in the last couple of weeks that I’m ready. Felt very hungry this week, on Friday I was counting the minutes at work till I could go on my lunch break!

I’ve got 4 doses left in my 5mg pen (including the extra dose), I took the first one last week. So if I count clicks does that mean I can get 3 lots of 7.5mg out of this pen?

DGonMJ · 25/05/2025 09:54

Morning all - raining here so staying in bed with a coffee for a bit longer.

@CurlsandCurves depending on how much you’ve needed for priming you may not get the full 7.5 in your third shot, but it’s possible as there’s usually more than .6ml leftover. You could always top up with your next pen?
4 x 5 = 20
3 x 7.5 = 22.5

Week and jab number 21 today. Have kept to 5mg even though I was toying with going lower. Official weekly weigh in today has me at 1kg loss from last Sunday which I think is the whoosh after the last couple of weeks’ stall. I’m 0.7kg below my target so not too worried as I’ve given myself a 2.5kg bracket either side. But this does mean I’ll have to make an effort to eat more this week. I’ve changed the settings on MFP to ‘maintain’ and it upped my calories to over 2000! Given the advice to increase by 50 calories weekly I’ve set it to 1700 knowing I’ve previously been able to get to 1650. I don’t think I’ll hit that every day, but feels like a good number to aim for.

So…new set of stats:
Wk21 of MJ • Wk1 of maintenance • 5mg
SW 79.6kg • GW 62.4kg • CW 61.7kg
TDEE 1800
Daily calorie goal 1700

Jins · 25/05/2025 11:47

Isn’t it lovely to see some maintenance stats?

Well I’ve jabbed 7.5mg today, two days late as I was waiting for stomach issues to subside. I’m missing my official weigh-in this week but I’m still 9st 7.6 which is great after a holiday and may be less as the loperamide on the last day may actually have worked too well 🤣

12 days till we fly off to Turkey. Wish we’d spread the holidays out a bit more but had to fit round locum availability

MananaPenelope · 25/05/2025 14:10

Hi everyone, haven’t checked in for a couple of days. Nice to see everyone’s progress 😍.

91kg here, same as Thursday. 12.5% of starting weight lost, injection day tomorrow. I’m being so diligent about weighing, logging and sticking to 800-1000 cals, I had better continue losing.

Felt a bit low this week, not sure if that’s MJ related but I’ve struggled to stay positive whilst dealing with the 💩 I seem to be encountering in my professional life, not really like me.

Busy gardening today, it’s a lovely day but really strong winds.

Has anyone got any outstanding cauliflower recipes? I’m frequently underwhelmed by what look like interesting recipes, I recently cooked it whole, roasted with spices, Ottolenghi style 👎. I think it belongs with a cheese sauce with truffled breadcrumbs on the top really I guess. Always keen to embrace it being a low carb side but usually falls flat 😂.

2025istheyeari · 25/05/2025 15:06

Good luck @Polkadotdash yoi can do it 💪🏻

@MananaPenelope sorry to hear you’ve had a bit of a rubbish week, hope a long weekend helps. How did your interview go?
I’m with you on cauliflower. When I was on f800 I tried cauliflower fried rice which everyone raved about🤢, just no!
This Ottolenghi recipe is really nice though, we have with grilled fish or chicken https://ottolenghi.co.uk/pages/recipes/cauliflower-pomegranate-pistachio-salad

i went back to John Lewis today to buy the beautiful green coord set which I decided I didn’t have any where to wear it to. I still don’t but hey, I can go supermarket shopping in it, life’s too short!!

Mother's Day here so we went out for lunch. French style - 2 starters, 3 mains, 2 desserts, lasted 4 hours. Tiny portions but still, by the time I got to 3rd course, I asked the rest of my meal to go. Did manage to go to gym this morning at least. Am quite uncomfortably stuffed now though. Well, it's not an everyday thing, back to normal tomorrow.

supafish · 25/05/2025 16:17

Slow ,slow, slow still 😢 Trying so hard to stay positive. Have lost 27 pounds since January !
SW 15.12
CW 13.13
Doing ok , good suppression , eating protein , not eating crap but scales moving super slow . Lost 4 pounds in the last month and no inches at all . I’m on 7.5 and gonna move up on my next pen in 4 weeks .
What to do eh ? Keep swimming and hope ? Any one got any ideas ? X

MananaPenelope · 25/05/2025 16:51

@2025istheyeari thank you, I might try that. I’ve got everything apart for, pomegranate, I could use unsweetened dried cranberries chopped small I guess.

I pulled out of the job. The job had moved slightly and that, combined with the salary made me re-think.

No idea @supafish , I’m with you, similar stats, similar rate of loss. The way I’m trying to see it is that I’ve lost 2st, rather than I haven’t lost 3.5 stone. Tough I know.

2025istheyeari · 25/05/2025 17:33

@supafish weight loss can be so frustrating 😢. I have no advice but are you drinking lots of water? I find that really has an impact for me. I’ve also read that some people are slow responders until the higher dose ( 10plus) so hopefully that may help 🤞🏻. can you speak to your provider maybe, they may have some suggestions too? Really hope you have a whoosh soon.

We have very similar stats. Exact same start weight, my current weight is 13st 6lb, so 6 lb more loss than you. And I think I'm doing brilliantly!
We're almost on week 22 of the year, so if you started on 1st Jan, you've been doing this for 21 weeks and have lost 27lbs - more than a lb a week, which is the recommended loss rate for steady and sustainable weight loss!
Maybe you could try and reframe it a bit, it's not particularly slow and slower loss is healthier for you anyway than sudden and drastic weight loss?
Do you use any apps to track your loss? Seeing the steady decline in weight can be quite motivating and reassuring.
And if you have any weights at home or go to the gym, try and pick up and carry a 12kg weight for a bit - that's what you've shed! Keep going, I think you are doing fine!

mince3point14159265 · 25/05/2025 18:31

@supafish you're doing really well, that's almost 2 stone that you're no longer carrying! 🎉
I agree with the others, you just need to reframe the loss in your mind. There are so many examples of people on this forum that have had a really slow rate of loss, much slower than yours, and have found that it did eventually get going once they got to the higher doses. You'll get there and we're all here for a chat & a moan about things when it's not moving as fast as you would like 🥰

Was doing one of the Yoga with Adrienne videos this morning and at one point she repeated the affirmation "I release that which no longer serves". I, possibly deliberately, misheard it as "I release fat which no longer serves". Think that ought to be our group affirmation! 🧘‍♂️😂

myladyjane · 25/05/2025 18:46

@supafish my stats are exactly the same as MJalltheway and I also think I’m doing pretty well and that’s very similar to you. Keep on keeping on, you are doing brilliantly.

Sorry I somehow managed to delete the other sentence I’d written which said, I think you’re doing brilliantly, I bet if you looked at photos of January vs now, you’d see a huge difference but I get that weight loss can be so frustrating etc…:

Zempy · 25/05/2025 20:13

@supafish I like to think of my loss as packs of butter. Each pack weighs approximately half a pound. So you have lost the fat equivalent of 54 packs of butter.

Just imagine that! 54 packs of butter stuck to you. Carrying that around all day. It’s a fantastic achievement.

supafish · 26/05/2025 00:08

Bless you all ! I am happy honestly but I just wish that it was a little bit quicker. Hate the subtle internal glum feeling of another maintain despite a good week.
onwards and downwards !

MananaPenelope · 26/05/2025 06:59

@supafish I get you, no change for me this morning, 18th jab and fourth 5mg dose according to my tracker app.

Week 18
SW 104.1kg
CW 91kg
GW - no actual idea - anywhere between 70kg and 80kg.
