@DGonMJ that sounds more likely. I was thinking 100 cals a day at first. Introducing breakfast - like a banana or something. Then upping from there. But 50 cals a day makes sense. I'd need to watch that I didn't just add a chocolate bar 😂

morning all! A first for me - sulphur burps and diarrhoea. Naturally we check out of our room in an hour ☹️

I have loperamide and I have gaviscon. Anyone used either of these with any success?

BreezyPeer · 23/05/2025 07:49

@Jins how wierd! Yesterday was the first time I had diarrhoea after a meal. I stupidly had dessert after a delicious meal out and ate it all - won't be doing that again 🙃
I feel really unwell this morning, only half a day at work today before the Bank Holiday so should be fine.
Hope you are feeling OK by check out 😀

DGonMJ · 23/05/2025 09:03

Hope the side effects crew feel better soon 💐

I’ve lost a little bit more - below 62kg now, so I think I just need to eat more when I’m feeling hungry rather than holding back because I’m worried about eating too much. It’s a bit of a mind switch, and I still get a little rush of achievement when the numbers go down. I think from tomorrow I’m going to switch to only weighing on Renpho from now on so I can focus on muscle gain numbers.

HeavyHeidi · 23/05/2025 09:34

I have different scales and my muscle mass is in their 'high' range at the moment, borderline 'very high', so that's my next goal. Backside definitely flatter than I'd like it to be.

Bear2014 · 23/05/2025 09:45

Well done on amazing weight loss everyone - great to read! Also interesting to read about maintenance. I'm on the SheMed £99 per month plan until January but I think I'll aim to book a maintenance appt with Oushk towards the end of the year with the aim of moving over to them.

Currently on 16kg off since January, it is slowing so hoping that SheMed will finally agree to put me up to 7.5 next month. Would like my weight loss to peak in time for the summer then it can slow right down if it wants to ;)

I’m intrigued by the support you are getting from your medication providers. I just buy mine from IQ doctor and that’s that. Am I doing something wrong? Am I supposed to be checking in with someone somewhere on my progress? They never ask me any questions. I’m going up to 10mg this week as I haven’t lost anything for 2-3 weeks and still only got an overall loss of 1.5 stone. I’m thinking that the 10mg will be my last shot as after 6 months and the best part of £1000 my losses aren’t going to massively increase.

HeavyHeidi · 23/05/2025 10:09

the German providers I use over here have 0 interest in checking in, except for asking me to give them 5 star reviews if I'm happy.

whyamisuddenlygettingolder · 23/05/2025 10:57

Weigh in day and I'm down 3.4lbs this week, which is better than last week's 1.2. The suppression's been intense, so I'm not surprised. I've got a colonoscopy at the end of next week, so am taking today's shot but then not going to take the next one until after the appointment - am very terrified of the horrible diet constipating me, not helped by the fact that this was meant to happen weeks ago and then they rearranged it at the last moment, so I've been feeling anxious about it for a couple of months! Hoping it'll all be fine. And who knows, maybe I'll lose half a stone with the gross preparation they make you take 😅

I'm currently with Voy and they give you lots of support.
On a daily basis - you can log your meals (photo or text) and they analyse them for balance, protein, fibre etc. no calorie counting! They also give you coaching tips, plans, habit building etc.
at the start of the process you select a coach and you can WhatsApp them whenever you like with questions, feedback, help, whatever. You can also book video or phone calls with your coach whenever you like. I've had a few, we talk about mindset, habit forming, tips to help the process, minimise side effects etc etc. I can't fault their customer service, it's excellent.
I am moving away from them for this pen though, I don't feel I need the coaching now I'm in a really good routine and they are undoubtedly one of the more expensive providers.

Thelittlestranger · 23/05/2025 10:58

No check-in with Med Express previously, or Oushk now. Just order what I need.

Polkadotdash · 23/05/2025 11:13

@MJalltheway Voy sound like the good standard for support. That’s a great package.

@whyamisuddenlygettingolder sending you good vibes for the colonoscopy. They are not fun at all. I’ve had 3 and all of them were highly unpleasant.

asparagusfearne · 23/05/2025 15:12

Having a catch up, huge well done to @Therealmetherealme on 4st!
Sounds like a great week for losing across the board, I have just hit 3st which also brings me right on to healthy BMI.

Also thanks @HeavyHeidi for sending me down the Raja Ampat rabbit hole! It looks incredible, now to make it happen 🤩

Happy bank holiday all and hope the sun is shining where you are

meatyryvita · 23/05/2025 16:28

Took my first 7.5 jab yesterday and felt fine last night. Insane suppression today - could barely touch my usual protein-rich breakfast and just had a cheese straw for lunch. It’s Friday night pizza night here (they are homemade and so sensible fat/calorie-wise) and so I hope to add some more calories to my day. I’ve not felt like this since my first 5mg jab.

I did have a bit of kefir as my stomach was feeling iffy. All fine now and so maybe that’s done the trick?

Have a great long weekend losers!

Jins · 23/05/2025 17:25

Last message from Corfu as we’re currently in the bar awaiting transport to the airport. Will be back in the UK in the small hours of Saturday.

Lopermide worked well enough on the diarrhoea, sulphur burps subsided a bit but not completely. I was absolutely starving at lunchtime which is a first for weeks but all I fancied was carbs, carbs and more carbs. I’m a believer in listening to what your body is telling you so carbs it was. I’d already decided to delay my jab until tomorrow but it may end up being Sunday. Can’t wait to see how much weight I’ve gained ☹️

Well done to the losers, so many nowadays. Best wishes to those struggling.

Zempy · 24/05/2025 07:35

I hope you made it home OK @Jins

I am enjoying being “back on the programme” after my trip, although my digestive system still isn’t functioning properly.

Pouring with rain here so nice quiet day pottering 😄

DGonMJ · 24/05/2025 08:21

Welcome home travellers 🧳

I skipped the Juniper daily weigh in and went straight to the Renpho scales. I’m now 40% skeletal muscle, so that’s an increase from last week and finally gets me into the green zone!
I’m still technically losing muscle weight so that’s not stabilised yet. I think I need to eat more to get that up but all my stats are now in green except sub-cut fat which I’m not that fussed about (already feeling the cold).

January 2025 Starters Thread 8. New clothes, new shoes, new bodies...
MJalltheway · 24/05/2025 09:08

Welcome home @Zempy and @Jins. it's pretty grey and miserable here, never nice to come home from a holiday to weather like this!

Daily weigh this morning shows....I'm over half way!! 85.3kg this morning means I'm 50.6% of the way to goal!! I don't normally take milestones from anything other than the 'official' weigh in but I'm taking this one. 😁
BMI has come down from 30.1 to 26.9
and my metabolic age has dropped from 80 to 63. I've (gradually) gone from doing zero exercise in January to working out 5 times a week. I feel amazing!
Vinted sales of my size 18 clothes are going well, and funding some size 16s. Still quite a lot of belly to shed before I move down another size.

HeavyHeidi · 24/05/2025 09:15

@MJalltheway half way! And second half is way more fun - each pound lost makes a visible difference.

I caught a glimpse of me in a shop window this morning and you know what, fellow losers? I'm no longer fat. Not that I thought I was fat to start with, in my head I was just getting a bit chubby. Curvy, you know. Plump. Could shed some weight, sure, but otherwise, pretty face (unless on photos, which were somehow universally unflattering).
I was, unarguably, very clearly overweight though. But not any more. Never thought I would get there.

2025istheyeari · 24/05/2025 09:22

Welcome home everyone! And happy bank holiday weekend!

@DGonMJ and @MJalltheway well done🎉🎉. @HeavyHeidi thats a great feeling!!

I weighed this morning, not official weigh day and last 2 weeks I’ve been lighter and put back on by official weigh day ( Monday), but fellow losers, I seem to have dropped almost 3 pounds this week,🤞🏻 it’s the start of a move away from my unexpected set point. 11 pounds to go to top of healthy weight range, and like heavy Heidi said, I’m really noticing every pound! I saw a friend I last saw 3 weeks ago, she knows I’m dieting ( but not about MJ) and she commented on how much more weight I’d lost, I haven’t but I have lost a few cm/ inches.

I’m off to see the personal shopper at John Lewis this am, not holding my breath that there will be lots there I like but hoping to get some ideas I wouldn’t have considered, know my size and what suits me. Oh and I
paid for my colour analysis/ Chat GPT insisted I was a true summer which I was really unconvinced about, this has come back true autumn which makes much more sense and seems to mostly match the palette I tend to wear. Also one of my best neutrals is leopard which I LOVE, so v happy!!

have a lovely ( if soggy!) bh.

MJalltheway · 24/05/2025 09:30

I'd love to hear back what you think of the personal shopper @2025istheyeari , I'm hoping to do this when I get closer to goal.
@HeavyHeidi you really need to change your name now! lightweightHeidi? notSoHeavyHeidi?!

BreezyPeer · 24/05/2025 10:36

@HeavyHeidi @MJalltheway @2025istheyeari amazing losses! @HeavyHeidi I am motivated by you saying the second half is the most rewarding ✨️
I was out last night and someone said 'you've lost weight' it's someone I thought must have noticed but they've not said anything before. Felt good!
Also, this morning I am 13st 😀 This is amazing! It's not official weigh in day but still brilliant to see it on the scale ♥️

Thelittlestranger · 24/05/2025 10:49

Enjoying the positive vibes this morning. Enjoy your bank holidays ladies 😘

Jins · 24/05/2025 11:15

Hi all. I’m sure you’re desperate to hear my post holiday weigh-in. On the day we flew out I weighed 9st 7. Today I weigh 9st 7.6. Can’t believe it if I’m honest.

DH now forgiven for stress inducing packing. The sulphur burps restarted but luckily not the diarrhoea just before we left the hotel and my poor mosquito bitten arm started swelling and getting hot. He took one look after getting through passport control, rummaged in his first aid kit and treated me to a shot of corticosteroids and a couple of antibiotics from his stray cat medical kit. (Yes he’s a big softie). DS2 asked me if I’d been in a fight this morning as a bite on my face is going the same way.

Glad to be home but absolutely loved Corfu!

HeavyHeidi · 24/05/2025 11:49

I promise I'll change name for our next thread 😀

@BreezyPeer I really think so. First the weight loss was barely noticeable even after dropping several kilos. But now I can see almost every gram.

@2025istheyeari ChatGPT really seems to like true or cool summer and suggests it to many people. I'm pretty sure I'm light summer. But as long as I stick to summer palette generally, I think it does not matter too much. However, summer and autumn indeed need totally different colours. It's so much easier though to coordinate my wardrobe when everything matches.
