I didn’t expect to need a new thread in under 2 weeks but here we go!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I skimmed the old thread last night and we have over 80 posters (not a typo) starting in the last 2 weeks! I will work out if I can tag regular posters later but the old thread is close to full so wanted to get this up and running for Friday updates.

Hi all! Sorry not to have posted but work is crazy! Had my 3rd jab yesterday so today am officially W3D2. I don’t have any scales so have no idea if I’ve lost any weight but I think my face looks less puffy! I know any weight will go off my boobs first anyway!! SEs have been different this time for me. Waves of fatigue and more nausea which is quite debilitating but as I WFH on Fridays I can just about cope!
People have been talking about lack of suppression or feeling hungry and for me I get both! But for the first time in many years when I feel hungry I know that I am actually hungry & not just wanting to eat for the sake of it! I can’t eat as much as I would have before - even though my eyes think I can, my body says ‘no’ 🤣
Well done everyone for sticking with it & supporting each other! It is a rollercoaster but reading your posts is really uplifting - even the poop ones! 🙈
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Nobody asked when I lost 30kg a couple of years ago because I lost my appetite post COVID, so I don't think anyone will notice! If they do ask, I'll tell them, and explain that I'm trying to get healthy because I can't afford not to work with waiting times the way they are. The thought of needing a knee replacement because of obesity, then years of waiting and time off for recovery is enough motivation when you're self-employed.

Hawkmoth · 09/05/2025 12:52

Oh and my vidrate arrived today. Hoping it will help with tingly fingers and going a bit dizzy bending over.

Crikeyalmighty · 09/05/2025 12:32

@Coventree didn’t work like that for me - I counted clicks and used 4 doses at 45 clicks on 2.5 and it locked after my 4th dose and simply wouldn’t turn any more. Don’t know why , but it definitely did .

I read somewhere that you only ever get 4 doses per pen. So it doesn't matter how you meter it out, it'll only ever give you 4 before locking (hence the need to either break it or use a separate syringe for the golden dose)

Oh no 😱.

In theory, I’ve done four doses from mine but the last one was a half dose (30 clicks) to top up my third 60 click dose from a 2.5mg pen, so I’ll test next Thursday if I can get the remaining 30 clicks or not (but have syringes on the way so will then draw either a 2.5mg dose to top up my 30 clicks or a 3.75mg dose if it won’t turn at all).

Between us all, we’ll work out how these things work!

(Disclaimer, I’m aware I’m going ‘off-prescription’ for my method at my own risk so definitely not advising anyone to follow suit…not that 3.75mg’s had any bloody effect either so far 🙄!)

Crikeyalmighty · 09/05/2025 13:05

@Coventree let me know how it goes- it may just have been my own but it def locked

Caddycat · 09/05/2025 13:17

I've read that they lock after 4 uses... otherwise you could move to a 5mg, often the same cost as a 2.5mg and get 5 half doses (day 1,7,14,21 and 28)

Vixs13 · 09/05/2025 13:28

Hi everyone

Weigh in and jab day today!
week 1- 2.3lbs
week 2- 2lbs

not a big loss but that’s ok i think I lost my big start as I lost 4.1lbs the week before I started MJ so quite happy with 8.4lbs off in 3 weeks!

Its weird as for 2 weeks now on day 5 I’ve been really hungry and then back to not hungry for days 6 & 7. Let’s see what week 3 brings!

Crunchymum · 09/05/2025 15:02

Well done @Vixs13

And what a fabulous pre-MJ loss too.

Cravingpotatoes · 09/05/2025 15:18

Weigh day and jab day! Scales haven’t moved this week which is disappointing, but it was a big loss last week so guess it evens out.

Havent had any major side effects but god I just felt generally rubbish last week. Anyone else?

Sunshineandpool · 09/05/2025 16:11

@MsRicoletti - I found PhD in H&B! I got the 'smart protein' in Chocolate Brownie which I think was the one you got. Then I wanted a vanilla one for some recipes I want to make. They didn't have it in the 'smart protein' but another PhD one called 'diet whey' had it in Vanilla Creme. I don't really know what the difference is but will give them a try!

That is why they lock to try and stop people going rogue. Not that it'll stop some of you lot! 😂

SilenceInside · 09/05/2025 16:43

The pens don’t lock after 4 uses, they lock after 4 x 60 clicks, plus 4 x 2 clicks for priming which gives you 248 clicks per pen.

StartingApril2025 · 09/05/2025 18:07

@Vixs13 well done on your loss!
I’ m the same- so hungry day 5, which was yesterday then day 6 I’m back to feeling ok again but still had breakfast, lunch and some snack jacks at my desk in work.

im at friends for a Chinese tonight which I’m feeling nervous about as havnt had any fatty rich food over the last two weeks and worried about the tummy effects 😳

PoisonIvy89 · 09/05/2025 18:47

W2D1 did my second jab this morning

@catchingzzzeds fantastic loss, well done for staying on track without the suppression!

@toobusytoclean yay for NSVs!! they are just as important as the scale numbers

@GoGoGovy I'm literally always trying to lose weight, some attempts are more successful than others, I don't feel like I need to tell people which specific method I'm trying each time. At the end of the day we are eating less calories and moving more and therefore losing weight. It's irrelevant that we are using a prescribed medication to help. So just like I don't tell people I'm trying a new antidepressant to try to help me get out of bed in the morning, I won't be telling people I'm trying a weight loss medication to help me stay on track this time.

@wlinewbie0425 yes exactly this but my comment would probably be less "breezy" and more "is my choice to take medication or eat some chocolate or do some exercise in any way affecting your life?" yours is far more polite

@Crunchymum that is excellent, well done!

@MsRicoletti another NSV! yay for hair bobbles being in their intended place!

@wlinewbie0425 loving all these loose trousers!

@Chunkysewist excellent loss and into the next stone!!

@Sunshineandpool awesome loss and great work increasing your water intake! Does your scale measure water weight? I've always wondered if they are accurate. Would you recommend yours?

@TheSilentSister Oh that's always disappointing to see but don't let it throw you off track, it's probably hormones or constipation or fluid retention. You know you haven't eaten enough to gain 3lbs of fat.

@Sallycinnamum That;s awesome!

@ymemanresu wow, 2inches off your thighs already?!!!

@MsRicoletti no personal experience but I know someone on adhd meds and they say it's a huge appetite suppressant, they started off very slim but are now underweight and been told if they can't gain weight they have to stop the meds. I wonder how it would work taking both?

@Beachbabes fingers crossed for tomorrow, well done on avoiding the snacks! Eat a vegetable or two today!!

@dozywelshbird I saw some concerning stuff about locking pens today. Some people who are doing the counting clicks to move up doses slower are finding the pens are jamming if the dial is not turned all the way to 1. I really hope that was just a faulty pen or something coz I was hoping to do 3.75 and not jump from 2.5 straight up to 5.

@RubyJuno Yay for hitting 16!! 1lb is a great loss, we are all a bit impatient and want big numbers. Garlicy winey lentils sounds yum, do you have a recipe?

@Caddycat give it time, day 2 and 3 it significantly increased for me. How long do you plan to do the half dose for?

@BonnieClydeSW15 are you not monitoring weight at all? or do you just not have a scales at home?

@Hawkmoth tingly fingers is a new one! I've just ordered some vidrate too, I did the trial previously they are pretty good though I was disappointed that the bedtime one didn't magically give me a solid eight hours sleep

@Vixs13 great loss!! I had the same pattern on week1, felt a little bit snacky on day5 and then back to nothing for 6 and 7

@Cravingpotatoes fingers crossed for a good one next week!

BonnieClydeSW15 · 09/05/2025 19:03

@PoisonIvy89 I don’t have any weighing scales! I’m so scared that I know that if I don’t see any loss it will really get me down! I know how much I weighed last time I was at the docs so am hoping that I will notice in physical ways and weigh myself eventually! 🤣

RubyJuno · 09/05/2025 19:08

@PoisonIvy89 not a very precise recipe but a vague guide…

Soften a small onion (or leek) and a finely diced carrot and maybe some celery. Add a chopped garlic clove or two and a teaspoon of mixed herbs. Add a couple of handfuls of puy lentils and a splash of red wine. Let it bubble for a minute then add stock to cover the lentils and simmer for 20
mins or so. (Last night I used a pouch of ready cooked lentils and left them til last. I added less stock and reduced the liquid then added the lentils at the end and just cooked gently for 5-10 mins to take on the flavour).

Usually I do this with some herby or Toulouse sausages but it was nice with a pan-fried chicken breast.

PoisonIvy89 · 09/05/2025 19:29

@RubyJuno Thank you! I'll definitely try it with chicken

Does anyone use flaxseed or chia seeds? Trying to add more healthy things in to my diet and wondering if they are worth the high fat content.

I bought magnesium today as it's supposed to help a bit with constipation, anyone tried it?

TeatimeForTheSoul · 09/05/2025 20:16

Hope it’s OK to join. Took my 1st dose today.
Had it in the fridge since late March waiting for a time when I could handle possible side effects (no big meets etc). But after more than a month just had to do it. Really keeping my fingers crossed 🤞

catchingzzzeds · 09/05/2025 20:27

@TeatimeForTheSoul welcome 😊 Fingers crossed that you have a great first week

Before weigh day this week I was thinking I should try and 'get rid of any excess weight I may be storing'. I do take 1 magnesium capsule for sleep but the dose is 1 or 2. So on the eve (tues) of weigh day i had 2 capsules. Let's just say it definitely got rid of it, then anything else that entered my stomach until this evenings meal!

Worth a try if you can be close by a toilet for a couple of days!

Scousebloke · 09/05/2025 20:42

Good luck @TeatimeForTheSoul

PoisonIvy89 · 09/05/2025 20:51

@Sheldon4k the one I bought says 1 or 2 too so I'll start off with 1, I have a quiet weekend so should be fine but I appreciate the warning, thank you! do you find it helpful for sleep? I bought the 3in1 to hopefully fix all the things.

@TeatimeForTheSoul Hello! Mine sat in the fridge for a couple of weeks too, I did my second jab today and it was much less nerve-wracking. How are you feeling so far? I had a weird woozy spaced out floaty feeling for a few hours after the first one.

TeatimeForTheSoul · 09/05/2025 20:56

Thank you @catchingzzzeds @Scousebloke and @PoisonIvy89
Not sure how I’m feeling as getting over a bug so am choosing to think slight wooziness and tongue tingles are end of the bug. The fact I just walked past the bread bin without temptation is probably placebo effect too. Or … (trying to not expect too much) 😁

PoisonIvy89 · 09/05/2025 21:05

@TeatimeForTheSoul I'm still telling myself it's probably a placebo effect and it can't possibly be working this well!

If you (and any other new people!) haven't already found it - the Shotsy app is great for keeping track of side effects and shows how much of the medicine is in your system each day.
