Thanks Blondes.
Congrats on nearly reaching a healthy BMI. I have about 4 stone to get to that point but it will come.
I will stick with IQ doctor for now, hopefully they will price match Medicine Market Place & I will look to move to one of the good maintenance providers in about 3 1/2 stones time!

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/05/2025 17:00

It will come @Redlightbulb. Everyone is doing so well 🌟

Hi! I haven't been on for a while but wanted to see how my August fam were all doing.

@Blondeshavemorefun congrats on reaching the healthy BMI range!

I'm doing well and have maintained my weight between 63-65kg since December 2024 now. On maintenance plan with Oushk and down to 2.5mg every other week, with a view to coming off after maintaining the lower weight for 12 months, as from what I've read that seems to help with resetting the set point to the lower weight and reducing the likelihood of rapid regain.

I hope everyone is doing well and 2025 is treating you all kindly!

Azuresky68 · 19/05/2025 20:14

@Blondeshavemorefun thanks 😊 Where is the thread on maintenance please..I might have a look. Can't be bothered with rude people though 🙄

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/05/2025 21:33

I’m not quite there yet @CrazyGoatLady. I have a lb to go. Hopefully crack it this Fri on WWJ

but that’s still top end so need another 5 off for leeway

well done for sts /4lb leeway. That’s what I hope I will do

so you now jab every other week. Do you find 2.5 does much ?

how did you go down ?

Good morning guys, how are you?

I read that maintenance thread just a couple of days ago and what Blondie describes as people being rude is a testimony to her kindness when they’re in fact down right bloody horrors.

Maintenance? I’m not dreading it or making any plans for it but only because on Mounjaro I’ve had to practice being hungry every single day. And
thats not a dig at those who’ve never felt hungry on it, its something mentioned on that thread so whereas Ive been a slow loser/ only had suppression a couple of times, I think it will probably help me going forward.

So maintenance for me is 1500 calories a day for the rest of my life plus an extra 5-600 daily to bring me up to my TDEE and eat as I please, they’ll be my food noise calories, they have to be, because after this there is absolutely no where else for me to go weight loss wise. This really was my last chance.

Honestly, if I was one of the Mounjaro users who’ve never felt hunger whilst being on it and have had a limited calorie intake because they’ve forgotten to eat, or ignored mealtimes because it meant more weight loss I’d be terrified to come off it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/05/2025 07:21

They are rude aren’t they @Weepixie

when people offering advice or support

the interesting thing about maintenece is that yes we should be able to eat another 500 a day so don’t lose 1-2 a week so that should help with hunger

I’ve been on 1200 for months so to be back to 1700 will be interesting once I reach 11s bmi 24

thkse who are at goal did you all have an extra 500 a day /3500c extra a week

Possibly the 2.5 isn't doing much now. I don't have much appetite suppression, but I went on MJ for prediabetes, so the main concern is blood sugar control. Despite only being on a low dose, I've not experienced uncontrollable hunger/food noise. But being very hungry can make me feel anxious that my old habits will come back.

I tapered with the support of Oushk. I reached the top end of GW range while on 5mg, I then started tapering by 1mg per week using the click counting method. Got down to 2.5 a week again and stayed there for a bit, then started doing fortnightly while I was on holiday as I didn't want to have to take a pen with me. I continued to lose much more slowly while tapering and my weight now generally hovers between 63-64.5kg. Sometimes it dips under 63 and that's my cue to eat a bit more as I don't want to lose any more now, I start looking a bit scrawny when I get to 62 and lower. I've a bigger frame and it just doesn't suit me, plus I've got a size 10 wardrobe now and I can't afford another new one! 😂 I also do still have some issues with feeling like I'm still bigger, so I needed to set a lowest point in my acceptable weight range so I didn't start thinking more loss automatically= better.

Glittermoonlight · 20/05/2025 08:38

Good morning! It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me, but I am enjoying reading everyone’s posts & progress.
So to answer your question @Blondeshavemorefun
obviously I’m only in the very early stage of maintenance, it’s also going to be different for all of us, & I’m still on MJ. I actually reached my goal beginning of April. My first goal was met beginning of March but then I dropped my goal by another 1/2 stone to allow for more wiggle room.
There are some not just rude, but really ignorant posts on the maintenance thread you posted on. I was going to reply, but I didn’t bother, I’ve been on mumsnet for nearly 20 years & I’ve found some people are so rude & nasty, I rarely post anything anymore. When I do I use several different names too!! So I don’t keep to the same one. But I’ve always found it hard not taking some of the posts personally, especially when it’s on a subject I’m knowledgeable about & the posts are just wrong!!!
Anyway- back to maintenance. So my goal going forward is to hover around the 9st mark, a bit over, bit under, all normal to go up & down depending on what’s going on in our normal everyday life. Two weeks ago I was 8st 11lbs, now I’m 8st 12.2lbs, I’ve been away for a couple of days with friends, so expected to go up a little. You asked about calories, for the last 6 weeks I’ve stopped counting calories, but I’m extremely aware of portion control, & making a conscious decision not to snack between meals. I eat my 3 meals a day, but I have throughout actually. I have noticed I am slightly more hungry on 7.5mg, I just have one more, then next week go down to 5mg. But I’m learning to ignore my hunger & wait for my next meal.
I’ve set myself a window goal going forward, to try & continue to hover around the 9st mark, the top being 9 1/2 stone. If I find myself creeping up to the very top of my window goal, then I’ll deal with it straight away. As you said in your post, much easier to lose 1/2 stone than the 5 stone I’ve lost on MJ. It took me 30 odd years to get to 5 stone overweight, so the reality for most of us is that it gradually goes up over the years. In the past with various different diets I managed to lose 1 or 2 stone, so more often going from obese to overweight, then once off the diet it would slowly creep up again back up to obese. The difference with MJ is that for the first time in 30 years I’ve actually gone back down to a healthy normal weight.
The difference going forward & why I will never ever allow myself to become obese again is that firstly I’m addressing things like portion control, snacking etc… I am not the same person that I was, it is actually possible in life to learn & not repeat the same mistakes. Secondly my blood pressure is now stable & normal & I’ve managed to reduce my doses. Now taking 2 drugs, not 3, & the doses are halved. Hypertension runs in both sides of my family, I’ll need medication for life. But being obese caused my hypertension to become dangerously unstable & high. So I was a massive stroke/heart attack waiting to happen. So I’ll not put on the weight again because- well I don’t want to die!!! Pretty good reason!😂
Going forward it’s about being both vigilant & realistic. Go on holiday knowing you’ll probably gain a few pounds, also recognising that when you come home you’ll address it & deal with it straight away & for me when I’m no longer on MJ at all, combination of calorie counting & intermittent fasting for a few weeks. I’ve always been able to lose smaller amounts by doing that.
This is a much longer reply than I had intended!!

Slimhopes · 20/05/2025 10:27

Thanks for all your measured thoughts and experiences of maintaining @Glittermoonlight @Weepixie @CrazyGoatLady @Blondeshavemorefun (and everyone I’ve not managed to mention🤪). I’ve been reading those maintenance threads also in the last week and saw you’d posted @Blondeshavemorefun but crikey they’re aggressive. What’s the need🤷🏻‍♀️ and all the doom about regain really made me so anxious at the weekend , stating that it’s completely impossible without meds etc. your posts have all felt reassuring. I know I’ll feel the loss when I’m off MJ but I need to keep within a weight window to try not to pile all the stones back on. I also have a whole new wardrobe and can’t afford to upsize!! Maybe I won’t manage without meds and will have to look at a longer term dose and hope that the market is more accommodating of this over the next few years as it develops and isn’t quite so expensive.
still trying to get rid of that pound to get me under bmi 25 this week 🤞

Weepixie · 20/05/2025 11:14

@Slimhopes it’s worth keeping in mind the majority of the absolute horrors posting on that thread don’t want WLI to exist in the first place, and if they have to exist they actively want, through sheer spite, for people to lose weight then regain it. They will never post about them in any kind of positive light and their negativity makes them very
ugly people who I sincerely hope can one day take some kind of injection to cure them of being them.

They have my heartfelt sympathy for being the unhappy and miserable arses they are.

Or they are just bots, and if they are I hope that one day they get a pulse.

Slimhopes · 20/05/2025 11:58

I love your take down of them @Weepixie 😂😂 this will help lift my weight of anxiety if I go on that thread again😅

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/05/2025 16:11

Thanks @CrazyGoatLady and @Glittermoonlight for such long but helpful replies

@Slimhopes they were weren’t they.

Good thing im thick skinned

blondes wails into a hanky Pmsl

thi seriously it may be harder to do when totally off mj. It may not. As our hunger comes back we need to make wise choices. Yes can have a big meal or a treat bud not every day /week

to weigh weekly

and if weight does rise past your personal limit - mine will be 3:4lbs. Then you imm stop and go back to basics

losing 3/4lbs is much easier then losing 4/6stone

pkus in time to come in hoping maintenance will be cheaper or a tablet will be sourced which will help

hope that pesky lb comes off and you will be under bmi

The thought of piling all the weight back on now I’m off MJ is really depressing to be honest. I’m not in maintenance yet anyway, so I’m hoping I can keep losing without it.

Thanks for the advice and info. If you make your pen last longer is Ousch charging you £15 in between or do they let it slide? I am thinking of doing the same too. Possibly ordering a 10 mg but microdosing.

Azuresky68 · 20/05/2025 18:06

Good evening ladies. Just wanted to say how much I love this group! 😀 I checked out the rude maintenance thread but as there were 25 pages I couldn't go through it all. Still on 10 mg and still got 5 pounds to lose. After selling my stuff cheaply on Vinted I just picked up a pair of nearly new white short M&S jeans which I was going to buy in M&S for around £30. Good news on your sales Blondes 👱‍♀️

FlappingMadly · 20/05/2025 19:30

Oh wow @Blondeshavemorefun 1lb away!!
I'm nowhere near.

Have you seen news about sanctions in Israel? I'm pretty sure they produce Mounjaro. Might be a problem? I've got a stash of 7 pens 😂. Might add to it!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/05/2025 21:02

Knowing my luck I will sts this week 😛

I've not been charged extra, I get discount codes for my pens every 3 months and just order when I need.

Weepixie · 21/05/2025 04:44

Good morning, how are you?

Im on my 3rd injection of 12.5 today and my taste buds aren’t working. Im hungry because I can’t taste anything Im eating. Will still inject today though but if things don’t improve this week I’ll go back down again next Wednesday. Has anyone else had a problem with losing the taste of food and drinks?

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/05/2025 09:40

Not losing the taste but I can’t do spicy /hot anymore

ive Said before about the Aldi sweet chilli chicken pizza that I used to love. Wouid eat a whole one but around 300c for 1/2 a one

now I can only manage 1/2 a pizza but usually ham and pineapple or pepperoni

i can’t eat the chilli chicken. Burns my mouth. Think tried it 3 times now and just can’t 😢😢

plus went to pizza express yesterday with a friend. Used to have the chicken astra pollo or something like that. I couldn’t eat it yesterday. Mount burnt. Had to take off all the bell peppers that are slightly spicy

very weird how taste buds Change

so weird
