Living near people can cause so many upsets. I dream of living rurally with no people to bother!

@Blondeshavemorefun you are right, bit of chicken and some crisps wasn’t the end of the world. My tummy hasn’t appreciated though. I’ve just come on my period so that hasn’t helped. I’m constipated but gassy which is pretty uncomfortable!

roast beef and lots of vegetable for dinner should help.

SilverSprings510 · 11/05/2025 13:49

@Glittermoonlight thank you! I still have a long way to go (probably around 3 stone - I’m very short) but I am much happier, yes. I don’t really have many pics as avoided the camera a lot but this one is one from when I’d lost about 2 stone to now, having lost nearly 6.5stone!

Fabulous photos @SilverSprings510! It’s definitely more challenging being shorter!! I’m not very tall either, always find it’s so frustrating that my DH is over a foot taller than me, but I’m sure my stomach is the same size as his! Seems so unfair!!🤣, also it’s only since I’ve been on MJ that I’ve really understood that my portion sizes have been too big for years, & that I have never ever needed the same size meal as a 6ft 4” man!

weaselyeyes · 11/05/2025 18:33

I so feel your short arse pain and wish I could eat more too!

I was at an event last night in a an old church with very tiny and uncomfortable wooden chairs crammed in closely together. There was a mix of shapes and sizes there, some more happy than others on the chairs (both tall and large people were suffering a bit).

There were three young women there, two together, who were all very overweight. They were all very boldly and brightly dressed and came across as cheery and very body positive - which is great, because no one wants people cringing about themselves. But I really wanted to rush up to them and say, it doesn't have to be like this! Save yourselves while you're still young! I didn't obviously, because I'm not a complete wanker. But they seemed so brittle and defiant about not caring, and so obviously deeply uncomfortable in their chairs, where they could barely fit at all. Everyone around them was nice, but clearly being squashed and made much more uncomfortable by how much room they took up. I've certainly been there - or a version of there - and I was so, so grateful last night for fitting into my chair and just sitting there enjoying the evening with this whole massive layer of unspoken anxiety and tension removed.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2025 19:04

Looking good @SilverSprings510. Not sure you have 3s to go tho …..

OP posts:
Glittermoonlight · 11/05/2025 19:15

I totally agree with you @weaselyeyes I feel the same way whenever I see a big person struggling, I feel like going up & saying the same as you.
On the not so good side effect though my now non existent bottom finds those wooden chairs awful!! I’ve been looking up travel chair cushions on Amazon & wondering if I can fit one in my handbag!

weaselyeyes · 11/05/2025 19:20

Yes, they were painful on my flat rear end! However, thanks to being thinner and having more room to manoeuvre, I could at least shuffle about to change position, which was a relief.

@SilverSprings510 I meant to say how fab you look!

SilverSprings510 · 11/05/2025 19:42

I had a training event today and it was an all day zoom meeting and god, my bum was terribly numb! I have no cushion left so sitting around all day feels awful!

unfortunately @Blondeshavemorefun as a shorty, the top end of my bmi is 2st4lbs away, but like others here, if poss would like a little bit of wiggle room within that, so prob up to around 3 more stone 😫

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2025 20:33

So you would have lost 9.5s - wow. That’s amazing

also have numb bum. I’ve said this a few times. Now sit on a pillow

You and me both! When I had my tummy tuck a few years ago, the surgeon also removed a litre of fat by liposuction. He offered to have it injected into my buttocks. I wish I'd said yes now!

I know exactly what you mean. On holiday I saw so, so many women (much younger than me) who were very overweight/obese. They all looked so uncomfortable in themselves. Struggling to get into the pool, struggling with the heat, struggling with the steps up from the beach. Yet, every night they had plates piled high from the buffet, and none of it good stuff.

I've realised now that constant over eating is just as much a form of self harm as cutting, or pulling out your hair. I look back with regret at all the times I felt uncomfortable, and knew I didn't look anywhere near as good as I could. All the times I could only wear what fitted and not what I really wanted.

FurForksSake · 11/05/2025 21:36

I am horrified by some of my old eating patterns. I was sharing an office with other women and we had a snack box that was so well used. And I’d still go to the supermarket and eat a family size bag of maltesers. I’m in a different office space now and the women k work with and I decided no snack box. Another team member suggested one and having a kitty and bought treats to start with. We held firm. Sometimes we will share some mini bites , but generally we eat our own food and have similar attitudes to food.

today I made a roast dinner, I still have a mini Yorkshire and a roast potato, but it is one and that’s enough. I then filled up on lean meat and steamed veg. I don’t feel a compulsion to eat five or six roasties. One really is enough to enjoy without feeling guilt.

I think Mj is helping to heal my relationship with food. I don’t avoid meals, even if sometimes I have a little regret. But I try and fill up on the healthy bits and protein and keep the less healthy stuff as treats.

we noticed one of the children getting a tummy, I feel awful. It’s my responsibility to help with relationships to food and realising he was overweight was a shock. I don’t want him growing up struggling. I realised that when we switched to pack lunches at first we were really good and then I starting buying more mini sausages / sausage rolls and pork pies. I forgot how tempting they can be. So they’ve gone from the shopping order. I’d also been buying pain au chocolats for breakfasts and again, they’ve gone. If we don’t have those things they can’t be eaten. Back to being strictly occasional treats.

NippyNinjaCrab · 11/05/2025 21:57

It's so easy to slide back to little things being added back in. I love a pork pie and DH does too and he buys a 4 mini pack with the pickle and he will eat all 4! If I buy a pack for a salad I have 1/2 a mini one and that's me. It's little things over the weeks that causes the weight to creep up. I love your attitude, I think we are all doing amazing. @Glittermoonlight your pics are fabulous, what a difference.
@weaselyeyes I've felt guilty for thinking young girls look fat but today jeez oh, there were some beautiful looking girls in the town and in Morrisons, they were wearing shorts or small ra-ra skirts that were far too small and it was awful to see.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2025 22:01

It’s so hard over kids. We have a couple in dd class.

she said to me. Omg mummy. Abc called xyz the F word

I was wow. Ok. It’s not a nice word to say and I don’t want you to say it ok.

she said ok mummy. Then it rhymes with his name and other kids calling him it but I didn’t

inwas wtf. Thinking she meant fuck but he was called matt

then reliesed what she meant

it was fat. Kid called matt

i still said that F word isn’t nice

I’ve never said to dd about the size of them but obv 8yr notice

this matt is huge. Looks like a 10/11 mum says he’s in xl clothes as he lost his jumper and said said it was size 10/12yr

but his Lunch. Packed. Is full of crap. Biscuits. Crisps. 4 x bread for sarnies etx

dd has chocolate crossiants for breakie but she is slim. But does swimming and gym so burns it off

this matt bless him can barely run. Waddles 😢😢😢 so sad at 8

I worked in nurseries whilst training at university and we had kids under ss watch due to weight (no medical reasons for weight)

one boy was 3 years old and he was so big he ran towards one member of staff to hug her and took her completely out. She fell over straight onto her back.

it can definitely be a form of child abuse. Really sad.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2025 10:49

Another hungry week. Sighs

guessing will be another sts

I’m on 15 ffs

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 12/05/2025 10:59

Hungry weeks are tough! I’ve stayed the same for ages again and it can be hard.

what are you eating when you are hungry? I’m trying to fill up on low fat Greek yoghurt, fat free cottage cheese, fruit and berries, veg and lean mean first.

could you make a big dhaal to fill you up?

also, I think feeling hungry is good as we learn how to manage it now before we one day come off and are hit by it.

sorry it sucks and particularly when you are on the max dose.

chin up!

morbidcuriosity · 12/05/2025 11:44

Thought I would be STS this week, but I'm a lovely 1lb down.. going to do my bonus dose soon of 10mg, I'm gonna measure and do only 10 as well as my next pen is another 10..
This was my 1st 10mg pen and been 2lb a week with it so still happy with 1lb, even though it flashed between the lower number,
I reckon if I weighed again tomorrow it will be another 1lb..

BMI is 24.8 which is amazing in itself, never thought I would get this far!

SW 18.6
CW 12.5
GW 11.6 new goal for me I think..

Weepixie · 12/05/2025 12:44

I think if you had more healthy fat in your diet you wouldn’t be so hungry. You’d also be consuming less sugar if you give up the low fat options.

morbidcuriosity · 12/05/2025 13:06

Ooo I jumped on scales again after a shower and bathroom trip and it settled on the 12.4 . So another 2lb this week, not 1..
Happy with this.

weaselyeyes · 12/05/2025 13:37

Good result @morbidcuriosity!

poppym12 · 12/05/2025 15:49

I said I wouldn't get on the wretched scales after my 10 days away that went wonky food-wise but obviously I did. Around 3.5lb up on pre holiday. There's the usual post travel bloating and massive constipation though so I'm not being too hard on myself.

Just about to start the chemotherapy cream on a couple of my dodgy skin lesions. Apparently it's really horrible and painful. Oh joy.

Congratulations to all of you losing and maintaining August crew.
