I am not sure. I have an appointment on Saturday at the over flow doctors.

SunnyDreamst · 07/05/2025 21:49

I had my gallbladder taken out by key hole day surgery 10 years ago @coffeandteav after awful crippling attacks. I’m glad I did but I do have to watch what I eat (lower fat) and actually stopped drinking wine as my body couldn’t tolerate it well. Hopefully you can get a plan soon

Thanks for that. How long is the recovery can you go straight back to work?

Megarea · 08/05/2025 09:09

@coffeandteav I had mine out by keyhole too around 15 years ago and I've had no issues with what I eat or drink.
I was in hospital overnight then signed off for 2 weeks but one week would probably have been enough. They gave me tramadol to take home so I was in no pain but I think I fell asleep every time I sat down for the first few days.

Callmejudith · 08/05/2025 20:31

Team are any of you with juniper? My neighbour has started with them without a discount code so looking to find one for her second month if I can!

I still managed to get away with no one knowing I was on MJ!

SunnyDreamst · 08/05/2025 21:08

@coffeandteav recovery depends on you and your life I think. I had 2wks signed off initially but had two small kids (a livery 3yr at home) and got an infection in the port hole right where my bra band went so ended up taking a month off work as was struggling. If you have a desk job and don’t react to anaesthetic 7-14d should be ok.

I got an infection in the same place after gallbladder removal. I had a month off work too. If I hadn’t had that I would have been fine to return to my desk job after 2 weeks.

Doctor has said I can have surgery if I want or just manage it. He said see how I go over the next few months. If lots of attacks get it out if not just manage with pain killers.

I had the same response but then went on to just constantly getting bouts of diarrhoea and pain. After six months I went back to my GP who just said get it out you won’t regret it and I don’t. So hopefully yours settles down but if it doesn’t don’t be scared to go back again as the wait lists can be long.

coffeandteav · 10/05/2025 18:11

Thanks Sunny. If I have even one more. I think I will go back.

Thank goodness for you lovely lot … I just told my son and he was like “I don’t even know what a stone is” 🤣

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 14/05/2025 07:09

And reward yourself with a bra shopping trip!!! I got some nice push up ones in Tesco. About £15 for 3!! Never worn a push up bra as they would have suffocated me before but the sad state of the poor girls now makes them necessary!! 😂😂

🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

When I told my youngest my goal was 8st 12 he asked what that was. I’ve had to learn my key weights in kgs (or do some speedy mental arithmetic!)

The supermarkets around here don't have changing rooms so I'm holding out for M&S because I'll need to try on. I was 36G originally. I'm currently wearing 34E but the cup is hilarious. 34C was my pre children size, I can't even begin to comprehend that I can go back to that...

VioletsHeart · 14/05/2025 07:18

Congrats @daffodilandtulip
what an achievement. V well done. Xx

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 14/05/2025 15:43

@daffodilandtulip I used the measuring technique from the subreddit ‘abrathatfits’ and then bought some with the intention to take them back if needed. Cannot be doing with changing rooms anywhere, ever!!

I am currently comfortably wearing a 34D push up bra that didn’t need to go back!!!

SunnyDreamst · 14/05/2025 18:32

Well done @daffodilandtulip that’s brillant! What a journey we’ve all been on.

I still haven’t sussed my new bra size yet as they have halved in volume I’ve tried measuring using boob or bust. I like the bra crop tops for mooching round the house but have one proper 34G which is comfy but others I’ve tried aren’t. I’m waiting for M&S online ordering to come back to try some others as the ones I got from bra stop I’ve sent back.

JomonotFomo · 14/05/2025 19:44

That’s amazing @daffodilandtulip!! well done!!

I went to 7.5 this week after nearly a year on 5mg.
