New thread as the old one is full. Can’t believe so many of us are still here!!

Thanks everyone!! Still can't really believe I am seeing a number starting with 8 on the scales!!

@Snozzlemaid it's a weird one actually as I think I feel like I am walking around in somebody else's body. Like one of those body swap movies? I expect I shall wake up one morning back in my own!
You'll get there! Thankfully, you're still here and recovering well.

Week 50 and I'd dropped another pound early on the week. Then I've had a week off work and sat on my arse all week (which was totally needed) and then started my second period of the month (god bless peri) so now I'm the same as last week.

It's hard to get used to that actually being ok, and not expecting a loss every week. I'm happy to stay at this weight, with a max of going as low as 8 stone. I really don't want to put on anything so I'm staying on 7.5 for another month.

SW 13st 7lb BMI 36.9
CW 8st 6lb BMI 23

Total loss 71lbs

JomonotFomo · 31/05/2025 12:06

It must be week 51 or 52 for me, I think I took my first injection this weekend (end of half term) a year ago.

SW - 15st12
CW - 10st 3
GW - 9st 12 so a round 6st loss.

As an aside I was sooooo ill yesterday for the first time in ages. I ate too richly the day after my jabs.

Time4changeagain · 31/05/2025 12:22

It’s my year anniversary today!
I was hoping for a 1lb loss to take me to 6 stone but I’ve stayed the same 😂

SW- 16st
CW- 10st 1lb
GW- Still not sure but will be happy if I can maintain at 10st.

daffodilandtulip · 31/05/2025 13:32

It's mad that we've been here for a year! I keep seeing timehops of me a year ago and it's just 😱

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 31/05/2025 13:33

@daffodilandtulip well done for saying the same. I am worried about the mental aspect of this maintenance lark tbh!! How do I train my brain not to hope for losses 🤷‍♀️

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 31/05/2025 13:35

@JomonotFomo rookie error! Hope you're feeling better now?

@Time4changeagain happy anniversary!!! That pound will go. You know it will!

@IReallyNeedThisToWork oh so well done. I’ve genuinely just busting to spontaneous applause for you on the other side of the internet. I’m so delighted for you.

Don’t worry about maintenance. You will settle into it. Give yourself grace and time.

I keep seeing photos of me a year or so ago and can’t actually believe that was me @daffodilandtulip

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 01/06/2025 09:21

@VioletsHeart aw, thanks so much. That really touched me😁 Still haven't actually wrapped my brain around it but it will come I’m sure.

SunnyDreamst · 01/06/2025 12:02

It does take time to settle into maintenance mentally I think. I’ve been in this mode since Jan but had to stay on 2.5mg after my 4wk break saw all the food noise zoom back in and scared me tbh. I’m quite happy now ticking over. My shape has changed and I’ve tried to introduce more light weight training. I’m not a fan of it but try to do a few dumbbells at home so I’m seeing my shape changing & tightened up even if my weight has stayed the same. Plus I’m loving running 3x a week slowly increasing the distances. It’s great just to feel healthier overall. Wow a year I can’t believe it’s been a whole year now. This drug is literally life changing.

Bitezbabe · 02/06/2025 13:03

Hard to believe a year has flashed past since I started this journey. It was photos of me on my holiday last May that started my weight loss journey. I hated myself when I looked at them. A couple of difficult years with a breast cancer diagnosis and then a knee replacement had seen me pile on the weight. The medication for the breast cancer made it so hard to shift the pounds.
Best decision I’ve ever made. Nearly 4 stone down and happy with my weight. I did it very slowly and stuck at 5 mg for the majority of the time. I’m now slowly going to reduce the dosage and spread out the doses. At the moment I’m doing a 5 mg injection every 10 days. Plan on dropping to 3.75 for the next couple of months.
Think I’d like to stay on it for ever. Will have to see how things go.
Well done everyone for taking that leap of faith and seeing great results.

daffodilandtulip · 07/06/2025 08:38

Week 51 and I found that pound that was unsure last week, and lost another. Still monitoring calories but finding I can get to the end of the day and just know in my head what I've eaten, and if I've got calories for a snack or if I've had too much.

SW 13st 7lb BMI 36.9
CW 8st 4lb BMI 22.7

Total loss 5st 3lb (73lbs/33kgs) which is 38.6% of my body weight and really quite mad.

On my Timehop today was a photo I sent to my friend of my leg odema five years ago and it is shocking that I was so unhealthy! Poke the same place and it's just bone now 😂

daffodilandtulip · 07/06/2025 08:40

Also check my graph out (not actively trying to get to 8 stone but the app shouts at you constantly if you've already reached your target). I still can't get my head around it all.

It is hard to think a year has passed! We have all done so well.

I started a year ago after my daughters 16th birthday. She had a party for her 17th some of her mates I hadn't seen in a while came to it. They said I look like a different person. Bless them.

Stayed the same this week 10.6. Not sure what I want my goal weight to be.

ThatGreatMember · 07/06/2025 18:26

I keep going to lift up my stomach (for access) when I've been for a wee only to realise it's not there/in my way anymore 😄

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 07/06/2025 23:01

@ThatGreatMember that made me laugh!! 😂
@coffeandteav But you’re not a different person, just a smaller one!! Goal weight is a tough one, I’m finding!! I have now come up with a 7lb range and I’m sitting about midway so am happy!
@daffodilandtulip it’s weird the way your brain just adds up your intake! I definitely can’t get my head around it all!!

Bought a pair of size 8 jeans today…

(well actually I bought 4 pairs as I HAVE NO CLOTHES THAT FIT but we’ll ignore my spendthrift ways!😂)

OP posts:
daffodilandtulip · 08/06/2025 15:59

I finally feel like I've actually got a good selection of clothes that fit now, I don't have to keep wearing the same outfit. I'm away for 10 days in July and 15 in October so it's about time 🙈

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 13/06/2025 20:23

How’re we all doing? I am trying to get my head around this maintenance idea and I think I’m struggling! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

I stayed the same this week but that was because I lost 3 lbs in the first half then put it back on in the second as I was away for a few days eating out and drinking (Greggs breakfast rolls…) 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’ve got a feeling this bit is going to be harder than the losing phase!!

I think so too. I feel like 10mg is having no effect on me. I can out it MJ. The willpower has to come in. I am not going back to 15 stone.

SunnyDreamst · 13/06/2025 20:50

I think the hardest part of maintenance for me is that fear that as you have had a couple of crap craving carbs days your back where your were last year. When in reality you’re not and can reset yourself. However I do think I’ll never truely relax around food it’s been my nemesis for 40+ years sugar in particular. So just taking each day as a new one is helping me take the ups and downs. I’ve had a hungry week and I’m up 2lbs but today I’ve tried to refocus on protein again and it’s helped. I’m still on 2.5mg a week.

SunnyDreamst · 13/06/2025 20:52

Also add try to find a focus or goal away from food / weight loss. I’ve been working on getting stronger. It’s slow progress but I’m lifting a bit heavier weight dumbbells and can do some real push ups now.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 13/06/2025 20:57

@SunnyDreamst thanks. Some good advice. I’m still on 10mg like @coffeandteav and not really able to eat much more early in the week so am interested in what happens as I drop down. I have been pushing myself fitness wise for a while so will see if more calories makes any difference. It’s bizarre that the Renpho says my subcutaneous fat is still quite high but I really don’t want to lose any more as my face and upper body are as slim as I think they can cope with.

Reconfiguration is now the objective…

Hi everyone! I thought I’d check back in as it’s coming up to a year since I started Mounjaro, nice to see that people are still here!

I’ve been maintaining for around 3/4 months now and like others I’m finding it harder than actively losing 😅. Think it’s due to accepting that during the losing phase that loss isn’t linear whilst expecting/ wanting to never go above my GW during maintenance.

It’s the first time post weight loss where I’ve realized that it really is a lifestyle change and that I’m never going to be ‘done’. I’m hoping this keeps the weight off this time unlike my last two attempts.

I'm getting used to the idea that the scales aren't meant to be going down every week, but it does take a moment when I stand on them!

I am actually struggling with how I look. I've kept a weekly before and after photo, and the changes are plain to see ... but I still think I look fat when I look in the mirror 😫

Working on abs for the flabby tummy and whatever exercises my daughter tells me will stop my bum looking like a pancake.

I've got an unrelated GP appt on Monday and I'm feeling quite anxious about whether he will bring up a conversation about having the jabs.

I have had a scan and been in A and e for gallstones and subsequent GP follow up. No Doctor has mentioned the jabs to me.
Which you think they would have.
