Mounjaro Feb 2025 starters (thread 5!)

Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

xx

@Mounjaroday Thanks for your kind words. I think if this week's loss was gradual, rather than STS for 2 weeks with a sudden loss at the end I'd have felt differently. It just feels like such a struggle when everyday for 2 weeks there is nothing happening, even though you are trying hard. Indeed harder than usual because the dose has stopped being effective.

I'm not ashamed of going up the doses, just disappointed. I have been getting 5 doses out of a pen without the need for syringes when I was on 3.75, which was very convenient and less faff. I will also finish this pen when I am away for 10 nights, so I'll either need to order before I go... And risk ordering the wrong dose if 5mg stops working all of a sudden, just like it has on 3.75, or if I order when back, I risk not getting it in time, as my BMI will likely be below 30 then, so it won't necessarily be rubber stamped as readily. Plus sometimes things are slow in the post.

But you are right, overall I am so pleased with my loss, I have done really well, but I tend to judge each week on its own merit, and I haven't done as well the past two weeks.

Mounjaroday · 23/05/2025 23:05

I’m an absolute hypocrite @PurpleCoo - I’ve talked on here about frustration when my WL has slowed, so totally get it.

Also, I felt a bit annoyed with myself going up a dose this week!

Perhaps we’re used to being super critical of ourselves?! I think I have some bad habits here.

I haven’t posted for a while, mainly because it has become second nature. Never stuck at anything so long.

i started at the begging of Feb, I’m still on 2.5mg. I’ve lost 17kg in total!

The success I am celebrating today is I’ve just been away on a week holiday, self catering.

I did not gain a single pound! I maintained!!

I didn’t deprive myself, I ate chocolate, I had ice creams, I picked food choices I wanted! But if I didn’t fancy the ice cream when others were - I didn’t have one! The old pinkcow123 would never had said no to an ice cream!!

Mounjaroday · 24/05/2025 07:14

That’s awesome @pinkcow123!

End of third month weigh in. Lost another 2.2kg this month to take me to 84.8kg. Moving up now to 7.5mg after two months on 5mg. BMI 28.3. Nearly half way to goal.

Start weight / BMI: 19st 9lbs / 44.4 (obese class 3)
Current weight / BMI: 17st 1lb / 38.6 (obese class 2)

Wks 1-4 (2.5mg): -17lbs
Wks 5-8 (2.5mg): -6lbs
Wks 9-12 (2.5mg): -11lbs
Wk13 - 0lb
Wk14 - 2 lbs
Total loss: 36lbs

Wk14 weigh in today following wk2 of 5mgs. Thankfully it’s been less challenging than last week in terms of side effects! I was hoping to get into the 16st bracket this week…but alas, not to be! Averaging 2.8lbs loss each week since I started which I’m happy with.

Goal 1: 10% of starting weight (27.5lbs loss) ✅
Goal 2: 10% of wk11 weight (22.4lbs loss, total 49.9 loss)
End Goal: healthy BMI (between 18.5 and 24.9 for my height)

Hi @AriesGal , well done! I don’t want to be a dick, but just need to point out that you’re not allowed to spam the support threads with discount codes. This is the Feb starters support thread, I’m sure there is a May starters thread here too.

Good luck with your journey 💐

You aren't the one being a dick here @SpiralSister

Does anyone else also dislike the dishonesty when spammers/people don't mention how much of a discount get themselves?

Just chucked out some bras and pants that are all too big now.

I probably shouldn't admit this but I've been slightly amused this week by where the top of my hip bone is. I always thought of my hip bone just being at the wide, hippy part. 😊

SpiralSister · 24/05/2025 08:45

Everyone is doing so well. Even when they are telling themselves it should be better 😉 I’m with you there, lovelies. Hit 2.5 stone off yesterday, 1lb off merely overweight, but of course official weigh in is today and I’ve gone up a pound overnight. Curses!

SW: 15.5 waist 38 BMI 35.8
CW: 12.13 (I’m in the 12’s!!!) waist 33 BMI 30.1, goddammit!
TW: 10.5

So about half way there. Will finish my 3rd 5mg tomorrow, with total of 6lbs off this pen. It’s slowing. Not a bad thing, but I’m going up to 7.5mg for my next pen.
My provider wanted a new photo this time, I think probably because I’m so close to 30 BMI. They are cool with maintenance though - I’ve checked. Thank god, because I can see me staying on long term in some form.

Have a great BH, my fellow warriors! 💐

Week 15 Day 1 for me
SW 15 st 3
CW 13st 9
I weigh daily, and I’ve put a pound on overnight, but I know that’s due to a carb heavy day yesterday.
Last night was my 3rd dose of 7.5 mg. It’s interesting to hear other people’s experience of going from 5 to 7.5. I had been on 5 for 2 months but as it was having a reduced effect went up to 7.5. I’m finding 7.5 isn’t quite enough for me, and it seems to be wearing off just as quickly as 5. So I’ve decided to go up to 10mg in a couple of weeks, and hoping I can stay there for a few months.

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 24/05/2025 09:00

Morning all!

Well done everyone on your success! I love reading how you're all getting on.

I had 3 different people ask me yesterday if I'd lost weight. 3 stone must be the magic number or it could be it was really hot, I only had my (very) big work t shirt and smaller trousers on. Either way it was a strange feeling. People telling me I look good, I didn't really know what to say.

One thing though. I was talking to one of them and she asked how I was doing it. I'm a secret jabber and even DH doesn't know. After her saying to me " you're not injected yourself with crap are you?"

I'm glad I've kept it quiet. I knew she had strong feelings on it but she does have health anxiety and probably reads all the horror stories.

Lola50 · 24/05/2025 09:34

I was out with an old friend this week who told me rather proudly she was on MJ. We weren’t discussing anything about weight, etc, and she just came out with it. I really respected that! Her confidence was amazing- that seems like a great NSV. I’ve decided to me more like that…

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 24/05/2025 09:49

@Lola50 I do wish I had that much confidence! Hopefully in time I might.

Week 15 Day 1 (week 3 on 7.5mg)

Starting weight: 16st 5lb
Current weight: 14st 2lb
Loss this week: 0
Total loss: 2st 3lb

Still don't feel good or comfortable tbh, I don't think this dose is a good one for me. Not sure whether to go up or back down. I can't continue for much longer either for financial reasons and nobody has used my Zava code because there are four million other ones 😆Tbf I do need to be as consistent with exercise as I am being with food, it's just been a difficult few weeks for time.

WLINewbie · 24/05/2025 11:25

Week 15, Day 1

So I've kinda reached my target. I say kinda as I'm happy with the weight I am but would still like to lose another 5-7lb as a buffer.

I'm the lightest I've ever been as an adult, in a stone bracket I've never been in since childhood.

I look small with clothes on but still don't live the reflection in the mirror when I'm in my underwear. There's still lots of fat, lumps and bumps etc, my thighs are grotesque, so I'll not be wearing the shorts I bought!

I've decided to taper down and stop mounjaro. Today I took 2.5mg and, depending on how it goes, I'll take 2x 1.25mg then stop. This is all an experiment though and very well may change.

I wish I'd moved to a provider who supported maintenance, the weight has just come off so quickly I'm in shock. The prefilled form from medexpress has disappeared and I have a feeling they'll reject me. Part of me would like another pen for backup so I might try.

Sorry this is a bit of a jumble, I love the freedom MJ has given me and very apprehensive about not taking it.

It'd be worth contacting Pharmalous or Oushk. They both offer maintenance providing you can show proof of your previous prescriptions.

Just found this thread! New poster but did start on 1st Feb 25.

SW: 17 stone 10.8
CW: 15 stone 0.6
Total loss to date: 2 stone 10.2

weeks 1-5 (2.5mg): 16.1lbs
weeks 6-10 (5mg): 8.9lbs
weeks 11-15 (5mg): 9.9lbs
week 16 (7.5mg): 3.3 lbs

Just started week 17 on my 2nd 7.5 jab today, people are starting to notice now, but although my clothes are a little looser I’m not yet small enough to drop one which is maddening! It has been a bit of a roller coaster - initially was losing 2lbs a week fairly consistently and then practically plateaued for weeks before a sudden big drop.

im not getting any suppression, but equally not feeling the need or desire to eat like i once did which is making sticking to my calorie deficit much easier. I had hoped to be in the 12s by my 40th birthday towards the end of just but that’s looking less likely now. But this is costing me so much money that I sure as hell am going to stick to it 😂

I need to do some research about the best maintenance friendly providers I guess and think about moving across from my current provider before it becomes too late… anyone have any recommendations?

You're a better person than me, I just reported it. I always find the ones with a sneaky code at the end have the same tone of post, maybe AI

Hangryfastjo · 24/05/2025 12:35

Well it's jab day for me, second 7.5mg dose.
And wow the consistency 🤣🤣 I've lost 1.4lb each week for the last 3 weeks and the week before that 1.6lb 🤣
Really woukd like a 2lb loss this next week. I have just over a stone left to lose.
I'm going for a 10mg pen next, although will do 6 doses of 7.5mg from it I think. I'm waiting to see if IQ doctor bring back the 20% code for those that already order from them.

Well done everyone I'm loving the wins you are all having and now I'm also thinking of what maintenance is going to look like for me

I am at a similar point to you. Just started week 17 or 18 (not sure), still 2-3 stone to lose but now just under BMI of 30 so looking for a provider I can move to for the rest of the journey and who will support maintenance. Ideally I want someone who will let me restart if I start regaining the weight after stopping. I’m looking at Pharmulous as they have positive comments on here but I’m not sure yet.

GoodCharl · 24/05/2025 14:45

Wk 15 update

SW 17.3
CW 15.10

ive been on the 5mg pen which is not giving me any suppression i feel so next week i go up to 7.5mg. Loving the feeling of loose clothes tho! 🙂

narkyspirit · 24/05/2025 15:17

beginning week 17 1x 2.5mg, 2x 5 mg and 7.5mg today being 4th Jab from 7.5mg. Decided to stay on 7.5mg for next pen which has arrived this morning.

SW 95.9 BMI 37

CW 83.2 BMI 32.1

Loss 12.7 Kg and (27.99lb)

Average loss per week has been 0.794 Kg (1.75lb) which is ok at the beginning I was dropping more but have slowed down as the weeks went on. I didn't have a goal at the beginning but now feel that I need to set a goal that will be achievable by the end of June so aiming for 78.2 (1 kg a week) so time to begin counting calories!!

work medical on Tuesday so time to surprise the Dr!!

Mounjaronewbie25 · 24/05/2025 16:09

Afternoon all! My weekly update after my second week on 10mg.

Highest weight - 16st 9.5
Mounjaro SW on 15.2.25 - 14st 12
CW - 12st 2.5

Loss this week: 3.5 lb
Total loss on Mounjaro: 37.5 lbs (2st 9.5)
Total loss overall: 63 lbs (4 st 7)

10mg has almost worked too well this week as 3.5lb is quite a lot to lose this far on into weight loss!
Feel like I’ve hardly eaten this week. But something I’ve noticed on this dose is I won’t be thinking about food at all, people will mention the next meal and I feel like I won’t be able to eat because I’m not hungry, but then I will suddenly feel ravenous, there’s no gradual increase in hunger, just goes from 0 - starving out of nowhere.
But then when I go to eat can only manage a small portion. Is this what life is like for naturally slim people I wonder? 🤔

I have been moving up a dose with each pen as always started to feel the suppression wear off earlier in the week after the third dose, but think 10mg is the right dose for me so plan to stay on it for my next pen. I also moved to a provider that offers maintenance right before my BMI dipped below 30 last week.

Zibb · 24/05/2025 17:22

Everyone is doing such a bloody good job! I hope you are all pleased and proud of what you've achieved so far. It's impressive and inspiring!
