Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

xx

@SpiralSister ha ha - yes my H has looked at mine and said ‘are you sure that’s enough’!! Although in all fairness he is now watching his too as realised he was2 stone over what he thought he was

Wow that doesn't sound much to me... Well done!

I have about 11kg to go but I may decide before then that I've lost enough. I want to keep some curves. I will still be in the overweight BMI but I don't really care about that.

Edited

Yes my target weight gives me a BMI of 26-27 which I’m ok with. I genuinely think that I’ll still be giving myself a fighting chance of avoiding stroke, heart disease and diabetes at that BMI. Then, the rest is luck!

strongermummy · 30/04/2025 01:09

Ooh. 10% down in 3 months. Hurrah.
1/2 kg per week average. I’ll take that. Have had a few plateaus so rather relieved tbh!)
love a graph (it’s from Shotsy)
Still on 5mg pen
12kgs to goal.
will see how it goes over the next month.
if I can keep to 1/2kg average pw then I’m happy and won’t go up a dose.

Btw how do you work out how many calories you need?
have seen comments on here but didn’t understand the letters let alone the topic!

Use this https://tdeecalculator.net then take 500 off your maintenance calories.

So for example, my maintenance calories at my weight and height are 2000, so I try to stick to 1500 a day. That’s putting myself in as ‘sedentary’ when in reality I walk a lot and go to the gym (sometimes!) so I lose more than 1lb a week usually.

sc0ttishlass · 30/04/2025 06:25

Week 12 weigh in
Minus 2lb..total loss 30lb.

Apart from week 1 when I lost 10lb, I've pretty much lost 2lb every week. Couldn't be happier with that.

However have about the same again to go.. I'm confident I'll get there though. I can't recall who said similar up thread but generally I've loved seeing the weight loss in the mirror (flatter stomach and noticeable on face) but today went to a running group at work and wearing the same clothes I'd worn at start of journey, I was still definitely 'overweight in them. I must have been practically bursting out of them before!

Oh, and qq..has anyone else noticed sore lower back?

And last thing. My anxiety so improved. I actually feel 'chilled out- a lot of the time. Still on 100 of sertraline but this definitely is a wonder medicine!!

mumandgran24 · 30/04/2025 08:39

I agree about portion sizes, I honestly thought my issue was snacking and deserts. But clearly I was eating too much even of healthier meals. Just adding stuff like 2 slices of bread with each meal, extra chips or mash etc etc.
I am thinking I may take pictures of my portions now so when I am at target I have an amount to use for portions in maintenance.

mumandgran24 · 30/04/2025 08:47

Just a weight update due my 10th jab tommorrow and as of this morning I have lost 1 stone 12 lbs.

I started at 16st 10 so to get to 14 something was really great and being within touching distance of 2 stone loss is amazing.

My hubby turned to me the other day as I walked past him in some tight leggings that are now pretty loose lol and he exclaimed out loud wow you can really see how much you have lost now. I mean he knows I have been losing but it was so nice it just struck him at that moment when I was side on to him in leggings :)

No one else commented yet but I think I may be getting to that stage not sure what I will tell people when they ask how I did it.

strongermummy · 30/04/2025 09:46

Congratulations @mumandgran24and @sc0ttishlass
great losses.

yes I’m also noticing I look different. Still mostly in the same clothes tho. So I must have been bursting out of them.
DH has not said a word. (I have not told him I’m on the jab…….!)

A small NSV….. I wore a pair of work trousers yesterday that I haven’t worn since my daughter was small (she is almost 9!)

that felt like a big win.

the other thing is people I haven’t seen in a while are not recognising me. And they are putting it down to my hair but I wonder if it is also changes to my face.

I had small babies but so far I have lost 3 of them!!!!! Fascinating to think of it like that.

Yes @mumandgran24this.
but also that tdee calculator @sweetpickle2shared

I am shocked at how few calories I need just to stay as I am. Let alone how little I need to lose weight!!!!

no wonder I put it on. I’ve been eating far too much.

in fact I may have to reconsider my coffee habit. Unless I go black. Just not sure I want to waste calories on milk……

Zibb · 30/04/2025 10:28

April 1st I weighed in at 98.5kg and this morning I am 92.3kg! Sooo close to my next goal of 90kg.

Mood is 100% better. 2.5mg every 6 days is just perfect for me for now. Back to feeling great, no bingeing, plenty of energy.

SweetPeaGirl · 30/04/2025 10:55

I lost 1lb this week, so 1st 11lb total. I think I've probably lost more than that but (TMI, sorry) I'm battling constipation. Otherwise all going well here!

Hersetta427 · 30/04/2025 11:05

Week 11 done for me and 31lbs lost.

Feel great - trying to walk for an hour a day. I know I probably should be eating more calories than I am but its hard when you aren't hungry. Prioritizing fibre in my breakfast (what I have is over 40g) so am struggling because of that to reach protein goals as well but I would happily swap the lack of constipation for a lessor amount of protein. No nasty side effects on 5mg whatsoever. Going to stick with it for as long as I can as in no rush to move up a dose.

sweetpickle2 · 30/04/2025 11:41

Week 1 of 7.5mg is the perfect suppression for me- don't think about food at all, but still hungry at mealtimes. Eating the same as I normally would, just smaller portions. And no side effects. Wish all doses could be like this one!

That’s good to know. I’ve got my first 7.5mg pen waiting for me in the fridge. I’m a bit nervous about going up but feel I need to as food noise and appetite is creeping back big time on lower doses. I took a slightly increased dose of 6mg last week with extra clicks and I’ll do the same for my bonus dose on Friday. Then 7.5mg next week!

Mounjaroday · 30/04/2025 11:48

@strongermummy a good coffee is my hard line. Nothing will get in the way of my two morning cappuccinos and always with full fat milk!

@sc0ttishlass I've been getting quite sore in my upper back between my shoulders. I'm not sure if it's the increased activity with the swimming and gym classes, or the weight balance changing, I've been thinking I might start seeing a physio once I've got down a bit more just to see where I need to strengthen etc

WoolerOwl · 30/04/2025 16:15

I had a job interview on Monday. Felt so much better walking in 15kg ish lighter than when I submitted the application papers in at the end of February. Also not so red faced with hot weather. I felt calm and confident.

And I found out yesterday that I got the job. Feedback was that I "knocked it out of the park"!

All top secret for now, but I can tell you lot anonymously.

I would like to lose the remaining 16kg before I begin later this year. But however far I get, I have already come a long way and I feel better for it.

Mounjaroday · 30/04/2025 16:47

Amazing!!! @WoolerOwl that is so great. How will you be celebrating?

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 30/04/2025 18:56

Hey all!

I'm due to go on holiday in June. I've tried all my old holiday clothes 1) most don't fit and 2) I'm not actually sure I like any of them anymore? Does that make sense? Like I only liked them because they fitted?

I've popped a shopping trip in with my friend for 2 weeks before in the hope that I will have a better idea of my size. My dilemma is I'm not sure how to dress my body now 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Anyone else finding this?

@WoolerOwl congratulations on your new job ❤️

OvertiredandConfused · 30/04/2025 19:13

Finally a significant NSV for me! With the change in weather and a long weekend away visiting friends overseas, I tried on my summer dresses. Most I can't wear as they are very obviously too big :-)

I ordered a couple of new dresses and two sizes smaller fits. Given I still can't go down a size in trousers it's very puzzling, but welcome. Fortunately several others are wearable, just looser. I'm trying not to buy too much just yet - like @Marypoppinsisnosaint I'm hoping to wait until closer to my holiday and my son's graduation in July

Hangryfastjo · 30/04/2025 20:07

Congrats @woolerowl thats fabulous news.

I'm continuing to lose about 2.2lb a week and I'm taking 6.25mg a week. Ive just ordered a 7.5mg pen but i'm wondering whether to keep on with 6.25. I'll continue monitoring and see. I don't lose any weight in first 2/3 days after jab, in fact always seem to put a little back on before it comes off again. Bodies are strange.

Anyway a NSV for me. I wore shorts today, which isn't the NSV, but I tucked my vest into my shorts! I would never, ever wear tucked in tops, but today I did, and it felt great! 🤣👏🏻
