Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

xx

Evening! How is everyone?
Sunday night weigh in and jab for me….
Sunday 27 April
jab 9
W10
SW. 79kg (BMI 30 obese)
CW 72.5kg (BMI 28 overweight)
Total loss 6.5kgs (8%)

MJ 5 (4th at this dose!)

slow and plodding weight loss but not suffering too much so will stick to 5 for the next month. As I have it in the fridge already.

id like to break the 10% loss threshold over the next few weeks. And the 10kgs loss marker soon after that.

suppression has been tough on some days but I still managed some Easter chocolate so clearly not that bad!!

Generally I want to eat smaller portions and I am less fussed about wine in the evenings.

so fingers crossed for the next month!

good luck to all of you

MynameisJune · 28/04/2025 06:40

Morning all,

Jab day today-

I went away for the weekend with friends, walked a lot, didn’t eat any differently but didn’t drink as much water as I usually do. My scales say I’ve put on 2lb since Friday morning. I know realistically I haven’t eaten 7000 calories over maintenance this weekend. So it’s likely just water retention but it’s disappointing anyway.

Sticking with 5mg for next pen anyway but will likely go up to 7.5mg when I order again. I still don’t feel like I’ve hit the right titration for me and probably should have gone up again this time.

sweetpickle2 · 28/04/2025 08:00

Morning all! Jab day for me, first 7.5mg-

SW 107.8kg
CW 92kg
GW 88kg

Lost a Great Dane puppy in weight!

Excited that I’m finally seeing the sort of numbers on the scale that I haven’t seen for years. Hoping I’ll get to my goal weight by the end of this pen, but will see!

Have a good week all!

TheYouYouAre · 28/04/2025 09:43

Week 10 at 2.5mg
SW: 91.5kg
CW: 81.5kg

I've lost 10kg!!

The past few weeks have been a much slower weight loss, but I'm still very happy with the balance of side effects on 2.5mg. I feel great and can eat whatever I want, just smaller amounts than before MJ.

Even though I'm losing less now, my midsection is shrinking week by week. The last 3 weeks I have lost 5 inches and have literally gone from a loose size 18 to a 14. The size 16 jeans I bought were too loose by the time they arrived, had to swap them for a size down! I thought because my weight had plateaued a bit, I would be in size 16 for a while, but my body is still changing. It's not all about the number on the scales!

Going to go up to 3mg for the next pen but honestly 2.5mg has been great, no side effects, less appetite but no suppression, eating whatever I want, just smaller amounts, and losing tons from my midsection even in latter weeks when the scales haven't been moving beyond 0.5 lbs at most.

I have PCOS and insulin resistance, carry most of my weight in my middle, maybe that's why I've seen such a change in that area of my body with mounjaro. It's honestly been amazing.

Mounjaro is also proven to help visceral fat so you may have a double whammy.

sc0ttishlass · 28/04/2025 13:44

@ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret I was just thinking about my visceral fat (which appears to be disappearing before my eyes, and I know we 'saying about the health benefits of losing this weight but I really started thinking and getting quite emotional about how bad that fat was for my body and how much more of a chance I'm giving myself.

Couple of random observations. I'm finding a week on 5mg follows this same pattern. Jab day and next 3ish days don't feel like eating at all but do. Next couple of days eat 'normally and end of the week almost feel like I'm not on mounjaro (not quite).

The water drinking really is key for me to lose weight and feel ok. I need to keep drinking lots! It also helps with toilet regularity!

It's true what they say that people notice at 2 stone. I'm just there and had a couple of comments. Some just saying things like oh that tops really nice and my mum saying ' oh you have a waist!'

Taylortaylor · 28/04/2025 14:32

Congratulations to all on the huge losses and NSV, great to see especially going into May and the summer.
SW in Jan was 95.2kg before I started MJ.
CW is 87.5kg.
Total loss is 7.7kg in less than 4 months which I think is the weight of 12 basketballs...random! My BMI is 30.2 so still in the obese category but I am hopeful it will be for the last time ever and next week Ill be below 30.
I've lost over 8% of body weight and a few people have started to comment. My sister and brother in law over Easter asked what plan was I doing (Ive been known to start Slimming world and then go with an online nutritionist a few weeks after and so on) as they could see it was working. I felt deceitful that my response was eating well, no snacking and lots of strength training. if it were that easy, I would never have been more than 10stone but I know they will go on about the money and scary stories they have heard so I just don't want to go down that road yet.

sweetpickle2 · 28/04/2025 14:52

Ooh thanks @Taylortaylor you have prompted me to check my BMI and I am finally not obese for the first time in years!

Still overweight of course, but I'll take it 😅

Fairyflaps · 28/04/2025 17:48

Week 10, currently on 5mg
68kg
weight loss has certainly slowed, but I’m not sure if this is because I need to move up to a higher dose next time, or because I’m edging closer to a healthy weight. Only 2 kg to go until I’m no longer officially overweight, in which case I will need to talk to my supplier about maintenance.
My T2diabetes is better controlled, and I’ve halved my metformin dose. Tbh, while I’m on the mounjaro which has a similar function, I would probably get away with coming off it all together.

6lbs to go then before I reach the magic ‘people noticing’ mark then 😂. Not sure anyone has yet.

I feel much like you described your week on 2.5mg and find it a good rhythm.

Mounjaroday · 29/04/2025 09:31

Weigh-in day!

SW 103.9kg
CW 86.5kg

Just a smidgeon off this week - 1lb - fine with that as it was a very busy week socially including two big (and boozy) lunches, a calorie-laden party and some Easter choc too.

NSVs

  • pelvic floor is definitely improving
  • I think, on balance, right now, touch wood, I don’t consider myself someone who suffers from depression anymore
  • Have finally started exercising. Obviously I got over confident… 5kg is HEAVY isn’t it 😂 Have quietly bought some lighter weights as well, now.

NS’L’:

  • Have noticed a couple of friends ‘backing off’ a bit. Has anyone else experienced this?

Well done on everyone’s progress xx

Congrats on the lack of depression! This has been the most incredible side effect/NSV for me. From being someone with a multitude of mental health issues I can safely say I now have no insomnia, no OCD, no depression, no CPTSD, minimal BPD and bipolar. I almost feel like a normal person (whatever that means!)

Zibb · 29/04/2025 10:40

@Mounjaroday well done you!

Honestly, everyone is doing amazing, it's very inspiring.

Mounjaroday · 29/04/2025 10:48

Agree @Zibb - this thread is very inspiring. Def keeping me focussed / motivated.

@Feb2025start that is truly amazing to hear.

Crikeyalmighty · 29/04/2025 11:20

@Mounjaroday interesting you mentioned pelvic floor - I’m having a tough time on MJ 3 days a week but strangely my stress incontinence ( I’m 63) seems hugely improved despite drinking loads more water and not much more excercise - weird!!

Mounjaroday · 29/04/2025 11:30

@Crikeyalmighty great to hear. Yes, it’s stress incontinence I typically suffer from too.
Was really, really hoping this would improve with weightloss and it has. Dare I say it … I don’t fear sneezing anymore!

I know for me it’s balancing my hormones which has a massive effect on my mood. I would stay on this medication for ever because it’s helped more than any anti-depressant ever has with less side effects!

Mamandherboys · 29/04/2025 19:41

Warmautumnbreeze · 25/04/2025 09:23

Hi everyone. Not been on for a while.

I am ill! 😭

I started 5mg on Tuesday and my belly is in absolute melt down. I have diarrhea, sulphur burps, terrible cramps. I can't eat a thing. This is coinciding with me getting my period yesterday as well. When will this end?! I did 4 weeks 2.5 then 4 weeks 3.75 with barely much side effects. I'm really regretting going up to 5 and thinking about just stopping the whole thing if I'm gonna feel like this.

On a practical level, can anyone advise what I can eat while I feel like this?? Banana? Toast? Has anyone else gone through this and come out the other side?

@Warmautumnbreeze Sorry you feel so ill! I feel like this, third 5mg jab yesterday, and been floored all day today with cramps, nausea, explosive diarrhoea. It lasted 3 days the first week on 5mg, 2 days the second week and on day 1 so far this week. But once it clears I feel better, suppression is good. Ive tried alternating jab sites and the arm was definitely the worst! It really makes me question my choices😂 but I don’t think I’ll go up to 7.5mg - can’t imagine what those side effect will be like!
I can’t help with food - i cant eat anything apart from toast or crackers but I have tried eating little and often today and I haven’t had any sulphur burps…yet (they have been vile!), and the yucky feeling is beginning to pass. So maybe that’s the key! Good luck on your journey!

OntheTrainX · 29/04/2025 20:06

I’m really pleased to read of the improvements in health, particularly mental health.

I’ve a way to go to reach target (another 16 pounds / 7kg) but I’m so happy compared to how I felt when I started on 12th Feb. Over 12 per cent of my body weight lost in 2 and a half months!

sweetpickle2 · 29/04/2025 20:18

Is anyone else still struggling with their eyes being bigger than their belly?

When I cook for me and DP I find it easy to dish up a smaller portion as I have his to compare it to, but when DP goes out (like this evening) and I’m just dishing up for one I pile my plate high- like I always used to do- and then I eat about a third of it and am full! It’s a waste of food mainly, but also really interesting to see how your brain remembers (and how much I clearly overate before!)

Mounjaro and a rejig of my macros has been a really good reminder for me about portion sizes.

I mean I know I didn't get fat from eating air but my portion sizes were certainly bigger than they needed to be.

I think of the conversation on here about eyes being bigger every day when I cut some bread for lunch and how much I actually need vs how much I think I need.

Wow that doesn't sound much to me... Well done!

I have about 11kg to go but I may decide before then that I've lost enough. I want to keep some curves. I will still be in the overweight BMI but I don't really care about that.

Crikeyalmighty · 29/04/2025 21:02

@ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret I realised I was plating up for me exactly the same as H who is 6 inches taller ( about the same weight though)

Oh god that was me. Only he’s 11 inches taller!

It’s been quite hard, tbh, to get him not to challenge my portions although he’s getting it now. ‘That’s not enough!’ ‘I’ve got loads more!’

Yes mate. Cos you are 6.4 and not obese 😂
