Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

Hi everyone. Not been on for a while.

I am ill! 😭

I started 5mg on Tuesday and my belly is in absolute melt down. I have diarrhea, sulphur burps, terrible cramps. I can't eat a thing. This is coinciding with me getting my period yesterday as well. When will this end?! I did 4 weeks 2.5 then 4 weeks 3.75 with barely much side effects. I'm really regretting going up to 5 and thinking about just stopping the whole thing if I'm gonna feel like this.

On a practical level, can anyone advise what I can eat while I feel like this?? Banana? Toast? Has anyone else gone through this and come out the other side?

I used to do 30 Day Shred as a beginner years ago and started with 1kg weights, it's absolutely fine to do so. You'll also be trying to make sure you're doing the exercises correctly so once you've got that you'll know when it's time to increase the weight.

Week 9 check in. Still averaging 1.5 lbs a week loss which is as good as I could have ever hoped for, and still eating 1750 calories.
Forgot to take my meds before breakfast today and I can feel the brain fog so lesson learned. Adapting medication regime does really help.

@Shefliesonherownwings my last pen is from Pillsorted, they’ve sent me £20 off my next pen too without any asking. They also offer bespoke maintenance plans so I’m thinking for now I’m going to stay with them. I saw on another thread that Oushk doesn’t have any availability for maintenance consultations until July. So I’m leaning more to staying with one provider now as I get closer to need to maintain.

@Mounjaroday you’d be surprised how heavy 5kg can feel. I think it totally depends on your existing fitness level and how much you might have done in the past. I’ve lifted super heavy before and it takes me maybe 6-8 weeks to get back to using 10kg for arms. But if you’re starting from scratch I’d definitely start slow and steady.

@Mounjaroday I'd definitely take a look on Facebook Marketplace or even for sale board at your local shop/post office as people are always selling weights and fitness equipment second hand, might be cheaper than buying a set of weights that you might grow out of quickly :)

Start of week 13 for me

Sw:116.5kg
Cw:100.4

Total loss so far: 16.2kg, 35.7lb or 2.5 stone

I have one more dose of 5 and then I'll be moving up to 7.5. Its weird because I feel like 5 isn't working but also I still lose weight, I think it's partly me getting used to the changes and partly still a bit of disbelief that it's really that easy now.

I've been taking 5 every 5 and a half days which has solved the issue of food noise coming back at the end, but I don't want to be messing around with days and dosages which is why I'm going up to 7.5 to hopefully just be back to a dose every Friday morning.

Did have some easter choc at the weekend but honestly the novelty wore off very quickly and it just made me feel a bit sick.

I'm so close to seeing 99 on the scale, I don't remember ever being that low before so it must have been about 20 years ago, maybe more as a teenager.

Tried on the next size down of jeans today, they're very tight but I could do them up, another couple of kilos down and I'll be wearing them, again a size I don't remember seeing.

I'm finding swimming and gym stuff much easier that I ever did before and I recover so much quicker, I was really dreading the muscle pains I had last time I was regularly working out but there's very little this time round.

I feel you, @Ke11.I keep thinking I should go up to 7.5mg, but actually, I’m still losing at a sustainable rate:
First pen 2.5mg 12 lbs loss
1st 5mg 9lbs loss
2nd 5mg, final dose Sunday, looking like 7lbs loss.

So I have ordered another 5mg, and see how I go. If I still lose 1-2 lbs per week, that will be good. Also I am travelling a lot in May, and could do without any side effects!

I mentioned on an earlier thread, that I wanted to be like a long term MJ user, who had pretty much forgotten all about it apart from doing the weekly injection. It had just become what life was like - sustainable diet, gentle, sustainable loss, minimal side effects. No drama! Nirvana 😁

3kg is good. 1kg probably too light.
2kg won’t get used for long.
probably move to 5kg fairly swiftly

@Warmautumnbreeze I felt like that on weeks 5&6 when I went up to 3mg and then 4 mg. I basically lived on protein shakes, cream crackers/toast and electrolyte tablets for two weeks. And I didn’t even lose weight! I dropped down to 2.5 the following week and I’m still only on 4.17 (50 clicks).

I wouldn’t give up completely, just lower your dosage and don’t go up until the side effects are gone.

Highly recommend ’Lift with Cee’ on YouTube. She says not for beginners but I think her form is really good. The exercises are simple but effective. I started 18 months ago with 2/3/4 kg 3 times a week. Still use the 3 and 4 kg for some exercises but 10 or 12kg for others. Good idea to track down secondhand. Even a York set of adjustable dumbbells in the plastic case would be useful. Good luck

Yes I’ve just moved to Pillsorted and got a big discount with my first order. There was a bit of delay because of the bank holiday weekend but my next pen is on its way. I had to do two videos as part of the consultation which was embarrassing but it was worth it to get the discount.

Sorry to hear you’re suffering. I did have some awful side effects when I moved up to 5mg, usually day 2-3 after aid jabbed, but those have definitely worn off as the weeks have gone. In fact I’ve just ordered a 7.5mg pen as I can feel the food noise coming back. Hope things settle for you soon.

Oh, and definitely toast, ginger-nut biscuits, crackers. Anything that doesn’t make you feel sick at the thought of eating it I guess. I also brewed some slices of ginger in boiling water to make a sort of ginger tea and that seemed to help settle my tum.

Started exactly 2 months ago, needing to lose weight before an unrelated surgery, just moved onto 7.5mg

Have lost 11kg (about an eighth of my starting weight). Not one single person has noticed.

Side effects are debilitating. Terrible stomach upsets, day and night. Am having to switch dose day to Friday so if/when I am ill I don’t miss work.
Most unpleasant.

I’d like to say it will go away but I’ve experienced terrible side effects at every level of dose. Not every week, but enough to seriously consider whether I can carry on. Eating toast or whatever makes absolutely no difference to me.

Checking in for week 10. I failed to check in last week as I was away, but I didn’t lose anything. This finally convinced me to move up to 3.75mg. So:
SW 96kg
CW 85.4kg
loss this week 1.5kg 🎉

I’m so pleased, my bmi is nearly 30 and I’ve lost over 10kg. I’ve had my period this week and so I’m so glad I did finally move up as it’s really helped my mood and motivation, even with all the Easter food. I’ve had no side effects from moving up, except a bit more appetite suppression. I’m still failing at exercise and water drinking, but I’m giving myself grace for the next month as I’m extremely busy at work. I’m going to try to build up at bit in increments towards the end of the month.

Hello everyone. Happy almost-weekend.

End of week 12 weigh-in for me today and it’s my biggest weekly loss so far. 5lbs!

I’ve really suffered with diarrhoea and so have eaten VERY little. Not ill other than that - no nausea or tiredness.

Planning to stick with 7.5mg and hope things improve. Going to Germany for the early May bank holiday so I really, really hope it settles. Did contemplate skipping a week but am reluctant to do that.

Total loss is 2st 12lbs and I’m only 1lb off moving from very obese to obese. And a couple of NSVs too. A couple of people have asked if I have lost weight and several more have told me that I “look really well“! Even better, I have now gone down one size in T-shirts and dresses. Still no movement on my trousers though.

So I've made the move over to Oushk. Was hearing too many negative things about medexpress and even though I've had zero problems with them I felt the need to move as I need a pharmacy with good maintenance for the future . After hearing medexpress cutting people off lately who've had their gallbladder removed when they previous allowed that sealed the deal for me .
I applied on oushk this morning and have just had an email saying I've been approved so was very quick . I had to take pictures and if anything it's given me a massive boost because they're a million times better than my sign up pics .
I'm also finally in the 150s! 31lbs lost since I started MJ in February and almost 50lbs lost altogether . I've had some lovely comments from people this past week who have noticed .

My first stumbling block since I started on 12th February - a GAIN of nearly 2lbs this morning. Ugggh.

I am currently at a weight (13 stones ish) I haven’t seen for 21 years and I’m wondering if my body is resisting further loss.

It’s nothing to do with Easter because I don’t have a sweet tooth. I did have a restaurant dinner and wine but I’ve done that a dozen times since 12th Feb with no negative impact.

Like others I don’t want to calorie count because I don’t want “diet noise”. But I might have no choice. Maybe just to get me through this barrier.

How have others managed unexpected gains?

Yesterday and the day before I was 93.2kg, today I was 94.8kg, that works out to over a 3lb difference! My dinner was a bit salty last night and I didn't drink enough water.

Anyway, if it is a gain of fat then you can just adjust your meals slightly and it will go in no time. It might be worth looking at your calories just because as your body gets smaller it will require less calories and that can be difficult to adjust to if you're not sure what your aiming for.

@Warmautumnbreeze , sounds rough. Have you tried peoto bismal? Fantastic for sulphur burps at least. Hope you feel better soon.
Week 11, increased to 6.25 mg from a 5ml pen, hopefully 3 weeks at that dose will prepare me for 7.5 pen next.
Weight loss still a bit slower than some, average of 1.9 lb a week.
Starting weight - 15 stone 8lbs
Current weight - 14 stone 1lb.
Really looking forward to seeing a number starting with 13 soon 🤞

Thank you! Yes I weigh weekly - on Friday first thing, same scales and same floor. Perhaps I ought to start a daily weigh as you say.

Well done of everyone's losses and sorry to hear some of you are struggling with side effects as you increase your doses.

End of week 10 check in and had dose 11 today. I'm sticking with 3.75mg.

SW 96.55
CW 83.95
Weekly loss 1kg
Total loss 12.6kg

I am 0.1kg off from losing 2 stone exactly. I remain pleased with my weight loss being exactly the amount I want it to be, not too fast and not too slow. I'm still tracking on Nutracheck. No problems with side effects, just ticking along nicely.

I went out for Wagamamas this week, and only went over by 100 calories, but it balanced out as was a bit under on other days.

I also fitted in a pair of size 14 jeggings that I bought a couple of years ago and found they were too tight at the time, but I hung onto them thinking my weight gain was a temporary blip

The second half of this week has been terrible. I feel bloated and pre-menstrual but although I'm not due for another few days, between that and just not feeling much suppression of 'food noise' I've really struggled. Until today I've stayed within calories so I had a bit of an extra deficit, and ate half my Easter egg which I hadn't even really looked at. Not worth it as I felt properly sick for a while and I wish I'd just had a carby vegetable pizza for dinner instead. I guess its all a learning curve, and I build a bit of leeway on to my calories over the week but it's just been shit. For the first time in two months I'm thinking I could really fancy a big glass of coke - but I know how it will feel in my body so I'm not going near the shop. I suspect even though I've been within my calories, they've been fairly poor calories so I expect my first disheartening gain on weigh day tomorrow.

Definitely upping my dose to 6mg tomorrow and see how that goes - I've got my next pen so if I need to go up to the 7.5mg then I will. It does just make me really worry how I'll manage without Mounjaro.

If you haven't already tried it, I would recommend Pepto Bismol. It tastes absolutely horrible but two reasonable swigs of that are a big help, especially for the burps and cramps. Eat little and often and drink plenty of water. I felt like you when I went up to 5mg and wondered how I could carry on like that but it really does settle down.
