I've been thinking about this for so long.
I've read everything I can find and think I'm as informed as I can be.
But fuck me I'm scared.
I don't know anyone who's using it, I've told my sister but that's all.

No reason for posting other than - aarrgghhb I'm scared !

Hi hope it's ok to post. I'm thinking about trying it too..only for a 3-6mths too as I would like to stop for a new month's then before we start TTC. I had GD during my pregnancy with my son and since been diagnosed with PCOS and just finding weigh loss so so so painfully slow but want to lose weight before TTC again. I've been on slimming world nearly a year now and only 7-10lb down with lots of fluctuations.

I'm nervous about the idea of starting it as it's all unknown. Reading this thread was helpful so just wanted to jump on the bandwagon xx

Totally ok to post!
I understand the nerves (as you can see) but I'm pleased it did it.
It's only been a couple of days but it's ok, like I said my tummy feel a bit different- maybe fuller somehow, but the food noise has lessened, I have had a few hours of feeling cold on and off but not uncomfortably so.
I used bolt pharmacy and delivery was really quick - had to sign for but got it delivered to local post office so all good, they offer a free phone call as well as other advice so that's quite reassuring.
I did lots of research on who to use so that helped with the nerves (and the cost 😅)

Avoid fatty food, carbohydrates and alcohol and you should be fine.

@SylviaPsyoplath how are you getting on?

I haven't ordered mine yet as I ended up poorly with a chest infection and still fighting the last of it off so I decided to hang fire until I'm feeling well again. Still really keen to try to do looking forward to hearing your experience so far 🩷

Im on week two, but I haven't been as strict as I planned (because of unforseen events)
Not much side effects, some heartburn and occasion nausea but peppermint tea seems to help.
I've not really lost any weight, but I suppose not everyone does on the first dose, having said that I did lose 4lb on first week and this week is period (early, bloody peri-men) so I won't bother weighing as I know I'll be up.

I definitely have noticed less 'noise', it's difficult to pinpoint what I want to eat, so that's encouraging, I'm drinking mor water too.
I think it might be a slow burn for me, but actually that's ok

Hope you feel better soon!

You say you've not lost weight but you lost 4lb in 1 week and that's bloody amazing well done!
It takes me at least a month of solid hard dieting to lose 4lb so in a week that's brilliant!

Glad to hear you've not had too many side effects so far either.

I'm really keen to start but I was chatting my husband and he'd like me to check in with the GP 1st to make sure there aren't any contraindications for me (which is fair enough) so I've got a telephone appointment soon for that discussion and I hope the GP confirms it's ok because I'm at my wits end with everything else.

On mounjaro and have had no side effects.

Don’t be scared - this is the best investment I’ve ever made in my health. Hopefully it will change to excitement and joy as you progress through your weight loss.
