I've been thinking about this for so long.
I've read everything I can find and think I'm as informed as I can be.
But fuck me I'm scared.
I don't know anyone who's using it, I've told my sister but that's all.

No reason for posting other than - aarrgghhb I'm scared !

Don’t be terrified. The injections are easy and don’t hurt. I’ve had zero side effects apart from a slightly dodgy tummy for the first 2 weeks. I’m at 4 months now and weigh just under 10st.

No issues, easy peasy.

Bubbless31 · 17/03/2025 20:21

I’m in the same boat op, but am yet to
order. My nerves are mostly around where to get it from and what price is reasonable? Can anyone recommend, currently 14 stone and want to be 12 again. Tried dieting for years and am just not getting anywhere!

Jjff89 · 17/03/2025 20:22

@Bubbless31 i use the family chemist x

MerryGrimaceShake · 17/03/2025 20:24

Don’t be afraid, it is life changing.

BUT dont be disheartened if you feel it’s going slow. It took ages for me to lose more than 2lb a week on it but as soon as I was titrated up to 1ml the weight started melting. For some people they don’t get that until 2.0. It’s different for everyone.

Also, watch out for sulphur burps. You will know you are having them if/when they happen. I stocked up on Pepto Bismol as that’s the only thing that helped instantly.

LongDarkTeatime · 17/03/2025 20:30

I’m feeling the same way. Not yet decided to do it but need to pull my finger out for the sake of my health.

SylviaPsyoplath · 17/03/2025 20:31

@Bubbless31 I've ordered from Bolt, spent so long looking it did my head in!

I think everyone feels a little apprehensive at first, mine sat in the fridge unopened for a month before I used it.
I started in January at 15.10stone, I’m now 12 stone and I feel amazing!
I’ve also had no side effects, I may just be lucky so far.
wishing you luck!

YourEarsCouldWinPrizes · 17/03/2025 20:34

It is scary because if you do it right, you're making a change for your whole life.
I had a few side effects, nothing unmanageable or long-lasting.
Being really overweight also has given me quite a few side effects too though, so I'm picking my battle.
Good luck, it's so very liberating.

Glitchymn1 · 17/03/2025 20:35

A friend started it, no effect until she’s upped the dose, she’s been sick but is persevering.

If you find the effects too much, stop taking it.
I’d be too nervous as have history of cancer in the family. Good luck op, see how it goes.

OMG that might be the kick in the arse I needed!

That’s the exact same weight as me. I have procrastinated since January. And I’d give anything to be 12stone!

MissPobjoysPonies · 17/03/2025 20:37

Can I suggest having some prunes to hand? Very little side effects - 1st jab I felt a little like I had slight morning sickness and a minor headache. A few days since start of Jan with a little constipation and I’ve had a small skin reaction to 5mg that’s a bit like a mosquito bite in the sun but not itchy. there you go, I’ve laid out the worst symptoms I’ve had since Jan.

oh and I’ve been quite chilly at times so have a hot water bottle to hand and bought a heated blanket 🤣

I’ve lost 21lvs so not as much as many but by god do I feel amazing and I’ve dropped from an 18/16 round the waist to finding a 14 too big.

Can I ask what side effects you had and how you managed them?
Thank you for the reassurance 🙏

Honestly, go for it, the feeling of not thinking about food is so freeing.

I have done 5 weeks on 2.5mg, and lost 14lbs exactly so far.
Decided I'm not in need of upping my dose at the moment because it's working for me really well.
The second week I had the side effects that I read most people seem to get when they go up to 5mg, which I guess is when it's a dose that works for them. I think this makes sense in that 2.5 is working for me.
I had a 2 days of really explosive diarrhoea and a morning of stomach cramps. That was it really.
And I've had headaches whenever I've not drunk enough (I cannot stress enough how much I have needed to drink to avoid this, for me I need about 3 or 4 litres a day or I'm headachey, but I think that's the result of a very active job and 2 small children).

I started the end of January and I’ve lost 19lb (and nearly 3 stone the year before!)

I’ve not had any side effects other than struggling to go to the toilet. I was shaking when I did those first 3 injections…

Yeah, I won't pretend it was my favourite part of mounjaro!
My poor kid's nursery teacher was very obliging when I dropped him off and with a pained look asked her if I could use their toilet NOW!
If you're able to clear a week or so when you can work from home or near to a toilet I'd advise.
But genuinely it's been life-changing and it's definitely been worth a few days of discomfort to feel this empowered and free. The weight loss is almost just a bonus.

(Sorry if I am hijacking your thread @SylviaPsyoplath )

@YourEarsCouldWinPrizes that’s worry I have too, because I need to travel away for work for several days at a time.

Is there any way to predict when you might get caught with diarrhoea? eg the first week, or after upping a dose? I could manage if I could arrange to WFH.

SylviaPsyoplath · 17/03/2025 21:07

@lostintherainyday don't apologise, this is the kinda shit (haha) I want to know too

Oh God, I work in a small shop, no chance of working at home.
Panicked now 😱
