I've stalled around the 16 stone on 10mg having started in October. I haven't moved much in a month and food noise is starting up.again. I have 3 more weeks of 10mg and then have a 12.5 waiting. Let's hope things will start again then

Whenever I have a stall I sit and look at my trackers and analyse what I’m doing, basically go back u to o the basics.

calculate your TDEE at your current weight and aim for 500 below that. Don’t go too low!

are you drinking 2lts water a day?

are you getting plenty of protein?

are you moving enough?

are you sleeping enough?

akaFrosty · 09/04/2025 09:53

SW 15st 8.5lbs
CW 15st 0lbs
Weight in day and I've lost 2lbs this week. Very happy with that. I feel so much better now that I can eat a bit more. Hoping to see a 14 next week!

NSV - I can wear my wedding ring again! I cant wear my engagement ring next to it yet, but it's a start.

@InfoSecInTheCity If I recall you are on MJ for diabetes same as myself. I wanted to ask some advice. I've been on it since sep10th and have gone from 99 to 74 kg as of weigh in yesterday. I'm still a Bmi of 28 though. My diabetes nurse wants to stop it as my hba1 is now 39. I seem to remember you having good hba1 numbers. Did your nurse doctor mention stopping it. I'm worried if i stop it all the weight will come piling on.any advice really.

They haven’t mentioned stopping it and at my last review my HbA1C was 5.7% and the De agreed to let me increase to 10mg to get the last few pounds off and get into the healthy range. Not sure what will happen at the next review though, seems to be a bit of luck of the draw.

What does everyone use to store their pen, needles and wipes please?

I keep my pen in the fridge hidden in the salad drawer, just in it's original packaging so not very discreet. Needles and wipes are in my bedside drawer. Sharps bin is in the garage. My teen dc don't know I'm taking MJ.

I've been looking for a discreet case or box to keep my pen, needles and wipes together in the fridge, but they all seem to be insulated for travel so I dont think they'd work in a fridge. Any ideas wise women of MN?

Darlinghag · 09/04/2025 18:40

I have zero organisation haaha. Keep my oen in the fridge door, the wipes in the box on top of the fridge and the needles (plus I always keep one empty box and instruction just in case for travel purposes) in a zip loc bag in a cupboard that holds tea and coffee 😂😂

today i realised something!! I have always avoided higher neck or collared tops in paler colours as i always got makeup around the neck. Turns out it it was just cos my face, neck and collar were pretty fat 😂😂😂 its not a problem at all any more!!

I stayed the same this week, still sat at 16st. I blame it on all the gardening I have started doing again, must be inflammation!😉

Pen lives in the fridge door, then I have a box on a high shelf in a kitchen cupboard that has the needles and all my other meds and vitamins in https://www.matalan.co.uk/matte-black-medical-tin/14331856.html

sharps box is one the same shelf but behind the nice one.

I have mine in a code locked cash box. In my fridge but I don't care what anyone looking in my fridge might think! Coded box because locked boxes can easily be picked with a paperclip and also keeps my kids from prying/fiddling with things they shouldn't.

WeAllHaveWings · 09/04/2025 19:55

My pens are in the fridge door in their boxes. The rest of my Mounjaro stuff - box of pen needles, syringes, syringe needles, wipes, cotton wool are all in an old stackable CD box. I have in another on all my BP/HRT stuff - patches, tablets, cream, adhesive remover, wipes. Then I have another one with my vitamins, Imodium etc,🤦🏻‍♀️

Twodogsisbetterthanone · 09/04/2025 20:11

I’m almost at the end of my first week on Wegovy(injection day tomorrow) and have lost 6 pounds. I’m so pleased 😀

I wasn’t a sufferer of food noise anyway, can quite happily go all day skipping meals prior to the jab, but I have noticed I get full quicker and I don’t get cravings now

This is perfect, thank you. Why didn't my peri brain think of a lunchbox 🙄

You are very welcome! And snap with the peri brain! 🙄🤔😊

GutsyFinch · 09/04/2025 20:35

I keep my pen, needles and wipes in a Tupperware oyster box in the salad drawer - sharps bin on the top shelf of the wardrobe.

Arglefraster · 09/04/2025 21:49

My pens are out of the fridge once in use so I just keep everything in the ikea dooket box thing that I keep treasure hunt stuff for the kids in 🙈🤣 the rest of the dookets have my excessive embroidery & sewing supplies in them.

I'm impressed by the organised set ups described! (& rather fancy a bento box for lunches)

I'm 20kg down all of a sudden (was stuck around 17kg for weeks) maybe the scale just decided to move again or maybe it's a hormone thing but I've been following Stacy Sims' directions to eat protein before doing anything active (even a walk) all this week. (Half a frozen banana, scoop of unflavoured whey & come coco powder whizzed up with water & forced down)
regardless of why 20kg feels significant 😃 still wearing all the same clothes & more than twice still to lose but it feels like something that will happen now.

QueenOfHiraeth · 09/04/2025 22:45

@Loveachoc Surely it makes no sense to stop a drug that is working as your HbA1c is just going to rise again? Your diabetes is controlled by Mounjaro, not cured by it just as chronic obesity is.
NICE CKS says "Note: a GLP-1 receptor agonist should only be continued if the person has shown a reduction of at least 11 mmol/mol [1.0%] in HbA1c and a weight loss of at least 3% of initial body weight in 6 months." so I would suggest, that if you have achieved those, you ask her why she is suggesting withdrawal of a drug that is working and ask for a GP or practice pharmacist to explain it if she pushes it. I have known some brilliant nurses in my time but have known a fair few whose prescribing knowledge was decidedly sketchy Grin

@akaFrosty mine lives in the fridge in a ziplok bag that originally contained Tenderstem broccoli. I keep it in the vegetable drawer, based on theory that no other bugger in this house is likely to look for veg, especially broccoli - so far so good! All the other paraphernalia is in my bedside cupboard which, historically, contained sanitary towels, etc so nobody ever goes in there but me plus access to the door is blocked by the pile of books I plan to read but never get round to!

MooBaggage · 10/04/2025 09:26

Ridiculously, I keep mine pen in an empty toothpaste box in the fridge - I do this because I read on a thread when I was just about to start with the jabs that someone else did this to hide it (although it makes no sense to keep toothpaste in the fridge!! 😄) and I wasn't sure whether I was going to tell people.

Now I'm more confident and am telling people, it really doesn't need to be in the toothpaste box - but it's a habit now..!

My syringes, wipes and all that stuff are in a sandwich bag in a kitchen cupboard.

I’m on week 6 of my journey and feel like the last few weeks my losses are slow or non existent. I am tracking well and staying between 1500-1800 calories but just doesn’t seem to be budging. I’ve got LOTS to lose and thought it would have been quicker. I’m seeing so many people having wonderful success, I’m just getting a bit disheartened.

anyone else had this? X

Evenstar · 10/04/2025 10:02

@chelpel don’t be discouraged it is slow for some of us, I have an underactive thyroid and am post menopausal so that makes a difference. I do think some people who lose drastic amounts immediately were maybe just starting to lose weight as well, I began losing weight in 2023 and was already eating well, just got stuck and wasn’t losing any more.

The losses do add up, I have lost 20 pounds since October and lose a pound most weeks, think of that over six months or a year!

Hi Chelpel - how much have you lost so far? Slow is good and when I think that I've put on 5 stone over the past 5 years, that's an increase of 1lb - 2lbs a month, so at least on the slow/no loss weeks I know that that's not happening...

Are you drinking tons of water and prioritising protein and fibre? It's really hard when you feel like you're doing everything right and it's not falling off - keep going and think of the losses you've had so far and that you're reversing the trend of weight gain over the past xx years...

I’ve lost 18lbs so far. Maybe not drinking enough but meals are all veg/ fruit and protein based. Definitely is hard not to get disheartened. X
