Thread SIX of this lovely community. Anyone using weight-loss injections to lose more than 5 stone or 30kg is very welcome to join us, no matter what stage of the process you are on. Share your losses, your non-scale victories (NSV), your frustrations and your love of Longley Farm cottage cheese and kiwi fruit here!

Please don’t post discount codes on this thread as your post will be deleted. These need to go in the dedicated thread on this board.

@MooBaggage I have lost 4 and a half stone so far.
I have started exercising more, my fluid intake is always high. Tried reducing calories, increasing calories for a couple of days, nothing is working! It’s so frustrating. It’s like my body wants to be around 14 stone so it’s just refusing to lose any more 😫
My husband thinks I look great and says I don’t need to lose any more, I do need to lose more. It gets quite addictive, losing weight!!

Posted this on my February starters thread as well, but I’m curious about others thoughts on this:

Folks who aren’t telling anyone about being on Mounjaro, do you feel bad for ‘lying’ when people ask how you’re losing weight?

Only my DP knows I’m on Mounjaro. But it Feels a bit dishonest not to mention it when people ask me how I’m doing this and how I’m resisting the carbs and sweet stuff.
Ive been getting a lot of comments this week about my weight loss and people want to know how I’m doing it. I just say a high protein diet/ calorie counting/ less carbs. I think they’re slightly baffled at my new found “will power”.

I don’t know maybe it’s just me lol. I could tell them about the MJ and give the whole speel about it being prescribed and obesity is a medical problem and I need it to help me stop obsessing about food all the time etc. But these people have never been obese and I don’t think they would get it? Or they would be judgy and have a lot of opinions. Just can’t be bothered with all that!

I don't feel bad in the slightest. The medication I take for a clinical condition is absolutely no-one else's business. Too many people think that fat women's bodies are public property.

I'm just checking in - glad to see some new names popping up alongside the familiar ones.

I'm coming up to my one-year Mounjaro-versary and I'm now within 5lb of the initial target that I set myself. I am likely to keep going a bit longer beyond that. I'm not on MN much these days and I don't find that I have much to contribute to the threads like I did earlier in my journey, so I wondered if any of the long-standing posters on the the thread would like to take over as the OP for Thread 7, which is likely to be needed some time around next weekend looking at the current post numbers. I'll still check in and say hello periodically but this is such a lovely community that I would like it to keep going for as long as everyone needs it.

Eeeek! Yes of course re: starting the next thread - one of us will do it (or I will in a panic if it hits over 990 posts and no-one else has - this is my lifeline at the moment!). Don't leave us though 😀

Thanks @VelociraptorsVelociRapping for getting our little community started and keeping us going over all the threads so far!

Looks like we have a volunteer to take over your reign - well done @MooBaggage !

Jab day for me, so have gone with 5mg - fingers crossed for fewer side effects this week! Yesterday and today have felt so good - am really hoping the next fews aren't as rough as the past couple of weeks have been.

Weigh day on Wednesday 😀

alltablenochairs · 07/04/2025 17:34

It's the wrong trousers, Gromit and it's all going wrong!!!

I've gone away for a few days much needed r&r.- I got funding for it from a charity. I thought I would treat myself to posh afternoon tea today so took what I thought was a pair of black formal trousers to wear. It would appear that I got 2 very similar pairs mixed up. Bear in mind I'm wearing a jumper in this picture but even then they're ginormous. Last summer they were too tight on the thighs even though they're an extra wide leg style.

Proof indeed thar actually yes, MJ has been working for me.

That's brilliant!

I'm quite gutted because (a) I bought 2 x skirts on Vinted when I'd lost a stone and was getting excited, but then didn't wear them and when I went to wear one at the weekend it slid off me - I'd missed the window!

And (b) I bought 2 x gorgeous Dolly and Dotty dresses last year to wear at a 50's weekend - I bloody loved wearing them, but they're now too big 😣 Will try and put them on Vinted (possibly. one day..)

InfoSecInTheCity · 07/04/2025 19:47

Wow @alltablenochairs that’s a big difference. Maybe not particularly helpful to you right now given I’m assuming you don’t want to be at risk of losing your trews, but still, pretty nice feeling! Ask reception at the hotel for a couple of safety pins from the first aid box and you should be able to fold them at the side seam, pin and make do.

I bought a couple of T-shirts in size 14 the other day and kept holding them up in the shop thinking, these just look so small, I feel like I won’t get 1 shoulder in let alone both and a set of boobs, but they are actually a bit baggy. It’s very odd not being able to recognise your size accurately.

Trouser trauma solved- by dint of spending most of my time parked on my arse anyway!

I've probably definitely eaten far too much the past few days but ateotd it's a very rare, once a year opportunity for me to actually go away sans kids and husband. I'll deal with the damage when I get home however I will say that food doesn't hold the same appeal it did for me pre-MJ.

alltablenochairs · 07/04/2025 20:05

@MooBaggage depending on how big the dresses are and how much you love them, it might be possible to get them tailored to fit your new size. Do you have an alterations shop near to you?

MooBaggage · 07/04/2025 23:00

Not sure - I've never had anything altered in my life! I'll have a look online but will probably thrift or Vinted them and then a good while before buying replacements!

@VelociraptorsVelociRapping many many thanks for starting this whole thread. It has kept me going since September. It would be great if you could tell us how it is going without MJ and how you ended your journey with it. I'm 8lb of my initial GW of 165lb but I think I might carry on for a bit longer.
Also I'm at the point where people are commenting on my appearance. I just don't feel it has been drastic- when I was 108kg I didn't realise how big I was. This means that now I don't realise that I'm slimmer. Is there anyone who feels that way?

Yes I really feel this - I was 104kg now am 68kg and I’ve been getting a lot of comments the last couple of months but hadn’t really seen it myself in that I didn’t see how big I was at 104….

that said I’m away at the moment and really noticing it as we have taken more photos and how I look in them is so different to previous trips and it stands out (I’m also less stressed about the photos being taken!)

Reginaphalangeeeee · 08/04/2025 07:13

Morning all,
my weight loss is going well with 17KG off since staring in January.
i am loosing about 1 KG a week now.
i started being more active and going to the gym to do strength work 2-3 times a week.

i have noticed an interesting NSV and wondered if others have too and if it will continue? I have a fitbit and it measures my resting heart rate. Since beginning MJ which includes wasting much better, drinking more and exercising I have seen a dramatic drop in my resting heart rate from over 70bpm to now 60!
I know both are normal but clearly reflect improved health for me.
My question… will it keep going lower?? Anyone else noticed this?

Timetofindme · 08/04/2025 07:30

@Reginaphalangeeeee mine has dropped too! I've always got dizzy when I stand up but the frequency of that has also increased- assuming it's due to the lower heart rate!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 08/04/2025 07:38

@TimetofindmeI would think that is more likely due to a postural drop in blood pressure if when standing. This is quite common but interesting it’s improved on MJ! Maybe your blood pressure is lower and therefore not such a big drop 🤷‍♀️

I have checked my Blood pressure since being on MJ but it wasn’t high before so don’t really monitor.I know some people come off meds with support from MJ.

i wonder if lower resting HR will continue to reduce. I mean 10bmp less seems a lot!

Timetofindme · 08/04/2025 08:23

@Reginaphalangeeeee I've always had it (as do the other women in my family) due to slightly low blood pressure and probably contributed to by a health condition. I think as the weight has dropped off, my blood pressure & hr have dropped further (hr is now mid 50s) and it's going back to the regularity it used to be before the weight went on (so occurring more frequently).

Reginaphalangeeeee · 08/04/2025 08:28

Oh dear, sorry to hear you are dealing with this. I hope things stabilise despite the weight loss.
my HR was mid-50’s before children and weight gain. Curious if it will go this low again.

taylorswift1989 · 08/04/2025 08:33

Great to hear all your successes! Especially as I am really struggling on 2.5mg. I'm planning to have my next dose a couple of days early and move on to 5mg as quickly as I can!

The first week on MJ was so amazing for me - the cessation of food noise was just incredible. But now I'm feeling like it's having zero effect on my hunger or food noise and I'm scared it won't work for me at all, ever again.

MooBaggage · 08/04/2025 09:18

I'm weirdly looking forward to being in photos without hiding behind other people/trees/rocks/anything at all I can find! 😁I have no photos of me with my children just being me.... I really can't wait to see what I actually look like under all this big body as I've been overweight (briefly!)/ obese my whole adult life.

I'm getting back down now to the sizes I've pretty much always been - currently a 22-ish on top and 20-ish on the bottom, so am beside myself that I might be ordering clothes that are a 'teen' in the next few months!

Am feeling amazing today - having reduced to 5mg yesterday, I've woken up today feeling really good and in control without the nausea - hurrah!!

I feel this way too - I’ve got quite a few stone to go but started at 104kg and am now 86kg - I really don’t feel that different and despite some successes with clothing I think I look pretty similar!

This might be my first post on this thread, but I’ve been lurking for quite some time. I’m on another MJ thread too so my brain capacity for contributing is limited but just wanted to say thanks to everyone I’ve found it helpful seeing how everyone has gotten on so far and it’s exciting to see people hitting their goal weights!

My goal weight is 11 stone (ish - if I ever get there I may consider 10 stone 7). That is 5 stone 7lbs from where I started at the end of October. At my very heaviest I was over 20 stone but my weight has been up and down a lot over the years. Over the last year or two I think perimenopause has been fuelling the weight gain fire too.
