I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

Nobody answered my question but I see it has been asked before so sorry for posting again. I still don't know when you can take the '5th dose'. Do you just take it along with the final 4th dose? Or mid-week between last dose and new supply arriving?

No you dont take it together . you would take it as a week 5 dose, then start your new pen the week after.

buffyangel · 04/03/2025 11:05

Thanks for that. But I would be moving up from 2.5g to 5mg so taking what's left in the pen with the new dose would mean taking more than 5mg? Is that safe?

buffyangel · 04/03/2025 11:05

If I take it instead of the new dose I would be possibly getting less than the normal 2.5mh though?

SpiralSister · 04/03/2025 11:09

On the 5th dose thing, I don’t want to seem like a dick, but people doing it have read up on the medical advice about it, haven’t they?

I mean, I’ll probably have a go myself at some point if I feel it’s worth the small risk, and I know loads of people do it and are happy. But it’s become completely normalised on the boards, when in fact you’re aren’t meant to do it (due to possible inaccuracy of dosing and increased risk of infection).

Sorry to be the clucking old hen about it - we’re all grown ups after all!

It all depends on your pen and how much has been lost in the prepping. i did my 'golden dose' out of my 2.5 mg pen and had about 3.0/3.1 out of it - did with a syringe and was just over 0.77 ml which worked for me as i was starting a new 5mg pen nest so worked as a bridge between the 2.5 to 5mg dose jump.

I was not to worried about the infection risk . I have been on medication previously where i have had to self inject so am pretty confident on the process, but it is a personal choice

Ke11 · 04/03/2025 11:36

Morning after first dose of 5mg. Absolutely fine, feel similar to the first dose of 2.5mg. Very mild nausea and a bit of a headache are the only side effects so far. Definitely feeling the lack of food noise again which is nice.

No.

You would take it as your 5th week dose before moving up. You would likely have more than 2.5 but less than 5 in the pen which is a nice staging dose

This is good to know, thank you. I’m due to go up to 5mg on Sunday, but I might push it back until Monday. I’m doing a night swim Monday night, and I’ll need to feel 100% for that. So a bit undecided - if I leave it, I’ll be pretty much out of suppression by then, and can I really resist hot chocolate after a 7 degree swim?! 😂

Injection and weigh in for me 1 day early. Im at 14 stone 5, 9 ounces. This one s my 4th dose so 9 pounds in 3 weeks. This one s all a bit wobbly as i had to switch scales! Feeling ongoing constipation and nausea but manageable as i work from home for myself so can have a lie down. It would be difficult in an office i think. How are site based work people getting on? Xx

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 04/03/2025 12:11

Congrats on all the weight loss so far!

Week 6 jab day for me today, (I have stayed on 2.5)
So in 5 weeks I have lost 15 pounds, or the equivalent to 12 basketballs!
Pretty happy with that, no side effects to report.

buffyangel · 04/03/2025 12:23

OK thank you all. I think I've got it now. (Maybe).😊

Hello! Can I still join this group? I started Mounjaro in the last week of January so I might fit right in.

SW: 292 lbs, BMI: 44.8
CW: 277 lbs, BMI: 42.4
first GW: 199 lbs, BMI: 30

I'm really happy with my weight loss of 15 pounds so far over the last 5 weeks. 4 weeks on 2.5 mg, now first week on 5 mg. If the weight keeps coming off at that rate, I could reach my goal by the end of summer/ beginning of fall.

I'm tracking calories aiming for 1500 cal/day. Most days I will have come out with more than that (1700-1900 cal), which I'm finding okay. It's still a calory deficit and so far it is working for my weight loss.

I haven't started any workouts yet but planning to as soon as my body feels a bit lighter and the weather gets a bit warmer. Excuses, I know, but one thing after the other thing...

Backgroundnoises · 04/03/2025 15:37

Day 3 on first 5mg pen and I'm definitely noticing some unpleasant side effects... Almost constant nausea, dreadful taste in my mouth, low energy and having to force myself to eat through the nausea to avoid feeling light headed. Noticing also that I have been getting more constipated so am working on ways to combat that.

I'll hang on in there though as I'm retired so can adapt my lifestyle till they pass. I've lost a stone in the first month with 3 to 4 stone to go. In my late 60s, this is going to be my last attempt to lose the extra weight I'm carrying. After 45 years of unsuccessful dieting, I just don't want that shadow on my back any more.

I lost 4 stones about 10 years ago doing low carb and have been able to keep it off with low carbing if my weight starts to go up. I'm still left with 4 stone to lose, which my body had just rebelled against doing, thus this last chance saloon with Mounjaro.
My plan is to get the four stone off with the help of Mounjaro, then to use low carbing to keep the weight off as I have in the past.

Zibb · 04/03/2025 16:05

So I had an initial goal to be able to zip up a coat. In the new year I couldn't even pull it closed and could barely move my arms in it. 2 weeks ago I could juuuust zip it up but not move in it and felt like an overstuffed sausage. Today I wore it on the school run, zipped up, and with a (thin) jumper underneath!

So despite the scales not budging I've lost a few more cm. That makes up for how dreadful I've been feeling for the past few days!

Official weekly weigh in-

SW 102.8kg
CW 101kg
GW 89kg

Not as big a loss as I was expecting - last time I started on 2.5mg I lost about 4kg in the first week, but the suppression was much stronger. Kicking myself for not just going straight onto 5mg this time.

Also on my period so hoping next week will be a big whoosh!

Oops! I need to work on my calculations (lbs/kg).😉
Never mind, sweetpickle!

Roxymama · 04/03/2025 16:35

Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing well?

I’ve just completed week 4. I started at 12st 5 pounds & I now weigh 11st 9 pounds. So that’s a loss of 12 pounds which I’m really pleased with.

My only side affect has been feeling cold for the first few days after the jab, full suppression until the day before the next jab is due. I’ve decided to stay on 2.5 for another month as I’m happy to go steady with very minimal side affects.

I bought from Dr Franks, with discounts &
recommending friends I’ve only paid £103 each month.

Good luck with your journeys everyone! 💪🏼

Feb2025start · 04/03/2025 17:15

Hey everyone! Great to see some good losses. I haven't weighed myself this week as I've been focusing on doing (nearly) daily yoga and that class is the opposite side of town to the gym, where I weigh - I'll make the effort this weekend!

I'm currently on day 4 of week 5 - I did the bonus dose which was more than 6ml plus a small top up from the 5mg pen, so about 4mg total and will be the same again for week 6 before I go up properly to 5mg. I'm really noticing the increase in suppression! But weirdly only for savoury foods (and particularly carbs and meat?!). Anyone else had this??

Yesterday I basically ate some fruit and a protein yoghurt - tried some chicken stir-fry and managed to choke down about a mouthful but it honestly made me feel like gagging! Today has been similar - fruit, managed half a tiny bowl of veg soup and have just had half a protein bar. I'm a bit concerned as previously on 2.5mg I was eating really healthily, lots of veg, wholegrain and lean protein etc... I really don't want to fall into the trap of relying on processed meal replacement type bars/shakes just to get the nutrients I need (I ended up doing similar on keto because I just couldn't stomach more meat and cheese but it felt gross!).

Not sure whether to drop back down to 2.5 or to see how this goes for another week or so... 😕

Febnewbie · 04/03/2025 17:39

@Feb2025start

I am in a very similar place to you - did the 4mg dose yesterday and also couldn't finish a bowl of vegetable soup for lunch

I am going to stick with it but I have barely lost any weight in the last four weeks - somewhere between 1 and 5lbs (my weight fluctuates a lot) - so I think it's an easier decision for me than for you (I think you have lost more every week than I have in a month!)

I am also telling myself that I actually felt this way on the first day of 2.5 but it did then wear off

I moved up to 5mg on Saturday. I usually weigh a couple of times a week. My official day is Friday but I also have a record from every Tuesday. I haven't lost anything in the last week.

I'm well within my calorie limit and pretty good on water and protein too. Was hoping to get a boost from going up but it feels the opposite. There is more food noise, although I still feel full easily. Trying not to be disheartened, I know it's only a few days really.

Anyone else had a similar experience?
