Hello wonderful people!

Looking forward to hearing how we’re all getting on with your Mounjaro journey, and the general good chat!

I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

Putting this here so I'm on the right thread!

Morning all!
W2d1
I've lost 4lb in my first week. Very disappointed as I'd hoped for nearer 5 stones but it's a start 😉
Second inj done and ready to hit the week!
Stay strong and good luck everyone

buffyangel · 03/03/2025 21:24

I don't understand the 'golden dose'. I'm only on week 2 so have only taken 2 doses. So I use 2.5mg for 4 weeks and is the 'golden dose' what's left in the pen? When do you take it? Will the next pen not be delivered the following week and so I would be taking what was left in the pen + the new 5mg dose? Or am I missing something?

The constipation is also making me quite miserable . I'm taking fybogel everyday as well as fibre supplements , my usual pro biotic and have really upped my fibre and water including prunes . And it's still not working . I'm going every 5-7 days which is not right and tummy is so uncomfortable. I used to suffer years ago and since having gallbladder removed and taking the supplements it's been fine but now my body has gone nope again .

i drink a strong coffee each morning and that gets me moving within half an hour like clockwork - very glad because that bunged up feeling is horrible!

Mounjaroday · 03/03/2025 22:00

Mounjaro is so magic and has suppressed my appetite so brilliantly.

As it turns out though, it is simply no match for a banging Quiche Lorraine. Stupidly made one for my DH and DS today thinking I wouldn’t be tempted. Who was I kidding 😭

I did, at least l, stop after two slices using all the willpower I could muster. It’s still there, in the kitchen, winking at me. Bastard.

Thank god tomorrow is jab day. Anyone else had any foods that have proved their Achilles heal?

Wk1 lost 4lb side effects headache and nausea, tiredness
wk2 lost 1 3/4 no side effects felt great
now w3d3 since jab day I’ve had a constant headache, food noice is less and I’m more hungry than other weeks

Chrestomanciscat · 03/03/2025 22:23

@Mounjaroday yes dammit! Cadburys mini eggs. I've just eaten half the packet 😿

Hahaha. What is in mini eggs to make them so amazing? They are also bastards. Every single one of them.

I actually went to bed early this evening, to get myself as far away from the quiche as physically possible.

DH on the other hand is downstairs. He’s just had a big slice and is now tucking into … mini eggs!

Hi everyone, quickly checking in. I've just done jab 3 at 2.5. I weighed myself this morning and was 107.6 kg. So that's a loss of 2.5kg over two weeks. I'm pretty please with this as I don't think I'm getting much suppression.

I'm off on holiday tomorrow and it's to an all-inclusive resort - it'll be interesting to see what happens when I'm faced with infinite amounts of food! To be honest, I'm quite looking forward to the test.

Mounjaroday · 03/03/2025 23:48

That’s great! Good luck with the all inclusive!

Forgive if you all know this but when it comes to fibre, you need to eat stool softening foods as well as fibre otherwise you can get more constipated.

I find kiwifruit with the skin on and cold sweet potatoes also really helpful.

Has anyone noticed any little differences even in just this short space of time? I'm absolutely convinced my chin is emerging again 🤣

I was just about to post to say i feel less stiff, more flexible. Ive lost 7lbs. Im on wk3 but i feel great. Im also wondering if its because ive changed my diet, no crap out the cupboard/i dont drink alcohol anyway/more water/more walking?

Shefliesonherownwings · 04/03/2025 07:40

Morning all, W1 done for me and I’ve lost 4lbs so I’m chuffed with that, especially because I also had some pizza and a couple of drinks on Saturday night. Hardly any side effects except a dry mouth and freezing cold at night.

Going to take my second jab today, fingers crossed things continue going this well.

Yes! I feel the same, more flexible although my leg muscles feel heavy which they didn't before so some things feel more of an effort.

I've also been finding myself more awake in the morning and less sluggish, the last two days I've been awake at 6 and up before half past with no bother.

Genuinely, I logged in just now to say the same about stiffness and pain. I went upstairs just now, and that’s always really sore on my leg joints first thing in the morning so I was braced for it and — no. It was fine.

I’m only five days in, so it’s not weight loss. I’m thinking it must be reduced inflammation from eating less junk.

Catmum100 · 04/03/2025 08:34

I'm feeling generally "better" as well. More human, less sluggish. I love being chilly as well as I'm used to being constantly boiling thanks to the menopause.

I'm starting 5mg tomorrow, which i was worried about the other day, but now think I need it. The food suppression has been far less this week and I don't think I've lost any weight this week (though have lost 12lb since starting, so that's great overall!)

My hands and fingers look like normal hands just now and not the swollen sausages they looked like for the past year. It must do a lot for swelling.

StitchH · 04/03/2025 09:21

Morning all.

End of week 3 for me. I took my jab early (Saturday) to titrate the dosage as 5mg due soon so weigh in next time will be Saturday.

WK1- 5lbs
WK2-1lb (monthly week)
WK3- 3lbs

SW: 17st 10
CW:17st 1

So 9 pound so far. Pretty happy with that. I know other people have more and other people have less. As long as I keep losing I'm gonna hold onto that.

Week 3 symptoms were more nausea than anything else which is manageable.

CallIpswichNow · 04/03/2025 09:22

I also get the swollen fingers in the morning, @aylis! That’s great you’re seeing a difference. Mine look/feel a little better today, but not massively yet. I hope that changes more.

sweetpickle2 · 04/03/2025 09:58

Official weekly weigh in-

SW 102.8kg
CW 101kg
GW 89kg

Not as big a loss as I was expecting - last time I started on 2.5mg I lost about 4kg in the first week, but the suppression was much stronger. Kicking myself for not just going straight onto 5mg this time.

Also on my period so hoping next week will be a big whoosh!

I didn't need to stretch out my skin as much to pluck my chin hairs... now that is a little win that i would not share anywhere except a anonymous forum 😂

Febnewbie · 04/03/2025 10:23

So far I have had all the positive effects of MJ except for the weight loss!

My joints feel better, less inflammation, ADHD is improved, IBS improved..

Just wish I could lose some weight!

Nobody answered my question but I see it has been asked before so sorry for posting again. I still don't know when you can take the '5th dose'. Do you just take it along with the final 4th dose? Or mid-week between last dose and new supply arriving?

xnotthemammax · 04/03/2025 10:55

Take it on your usual day week 5 Bear

Horseradish001 · 04/03/2025 10:56

@buffyangel I've not done it (I'm only on week 2) but depending on how much there is you can take it as a 5th dose (so an extra week from one pen), or perhaps as a way of titrating up if you are moving up pens to the next dose up?
